It is known that under stress conditions Campylobacter jejuni can change morphology from a characteristic spiral to coccoid form (CF). Genetic and biochemical mechanisms of CF formation (CFF) in C. jejuni remain unclear, however cell shape maintenance in other microorganisms is known to be genetically determined. The focus of this study is the fiinctional analysis of spoT and amiA genes in C. jejuni. Inactivation of the spoT gene stimulated CFF in strain 11168H and 81116, but the direct role of this gene in CFF is unclear due to the pleiotropic effects of spoT mutation. The amiA gene, encoding

Abstract:

Following active growth, the aquatic gram-negative rod Prolinoborus fasciculus (Aquaspirillum fasciculus) exhibited a mass conversion from its culturable rod form to a nonculturable coccoid form. Chloramphenicol did not prevent the conversion. Attempts to obtain variants that would not convert to the coccoid form were unsuccessful. Although the coccoid form fluoresced with acridine orange, agarose gel electrophoresis revealed extensive ribosomal RNA degradation. Poly-Ã -hydroxybutyrate, abundant in the vegetative rods, was not detectable in the coccoid cells. The results suggest that the

Dogs in the Tucson area with a known history of clinical Valley Fever were tested with two skin test reagents to determine their ability to detect delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) to the Coccidioides spp. The reagents used were Spherusol, from Nielsen Biologicals, and coccidioidin, which is no longer commercially available. Se ha desarrollado un modelo que permite calcular los perfiles de temperatura en el interior de las baldosas cerámicas durante su cocción; así como estimar la evolución de la curvatura de las piezas durante el calentamiento y cocción.<br/>Los resultados de las simulaciones se han contrastado con medidas experimentales obtenidas mediante un horno prototipo de laboratorio, que permite conocer las diferencias de temperatura entre las superficies superior e inferior de las probetas, así como su curvatura.

L’oggetto della tesi è la traduzione in tedesco di 25 stanze della poesia più lunga scritta da Pietro Cocci. L’argomento principale è il viaggio da Prato al fronte alpino che intraprese con lo scoppio della Prima guerra mondiale. L'elaborato contiene una biografia dell'autore, la descrizione del corpus di riferimento usato per la trascrizione della poesia, un'analisi del genere letterario (ottava rima) e un'analisi strutturale, linguistica, stilistica e tematica del componimento. Infine, dopo la proposta di traduzione in tedesco,sono indicate le strategie e difficoltà traduttive.
