They migrate to the urban areas and work as day laborers to continue their earnings. They migrate every year from august to November. With the innovation of technology and transportation the motive of seasonal migration has slightly diverted from before, but still urban area has more working opportunities in famine season than rural areas. So, the habit of seasonal migration continues. Many NGOs and Governmental organizations h

The barrel room is one of the most labor intensive areas ot any Citrus Plant. Often operating three shifts in the peak of season, the barrel room may require as many as twelve people for barrel production. In addition to the labor requirements, the essential data for each drum produced is extensive. As Citrus product, single strength and concentrate, is purchased, received, processed, barreled, stored and shipped, the product data is required at each point of transaction. Abstract:
In the management of the nuclear combustible life-cycle, periodic shutdowns are necessary to replace and rearrange fuel elements in the core. During the weeks of maintenance other sources are used to supply the energy gap, typically at higher costs. However, in systems with large integration of renewable energy sources, where the energy availability and costs are seasonal, the shutdown schedule may play an important role in the system costs. Thus, this paper evaluates the impact of a nuclear power plant fuel replacement in the system operation, mainly in the supply of electricity and its costs

Hurricanes, floods, tornados and earthquakes create natural disasters that can destroy homes, businesses and the natural environment. Such disasters can happen with little or no warning, leaving hundreds or even thousands of people without medical services, potable water, sanitation, communications and electrical services for up to several weeks. The 2004 hurricane season ravaged the State of Florida, U.S.A., with four major hurricanes within a 6-week timeframe. Over nine million people evacuated their homes and damage to property was extensive. One proactive strategy to minimize this type of

Abstract:
This case study documents experiences from a project working in communities in Plateau and Nasarawa states, Nigeria, where there are fragile relationships between farmers and herders and a history of violent clashes. The conflict between farmers and herders has been fuelled by a struggle for resource control and ownership of land and water. The nomadic nature of the herders makes it easy for them to move from one place to another, while the farmers are more stable. Some herders move to an entirely different location, while others move during rainy seasons and come back during the dry season. T

The Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division (NSNSD) received a request to collect baseline acoustical data on Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GRSM) roadways. Two acoustic monitoring stations were deployed during the summer (June/July) and winter (November/December) of 2023. The goal of the study was to conduct an acoustic inventory at these locations and to understand the degree to which vehicle noise in general, and specifically utility terrain vehicle (UTV) noise, may affect wildlife and visitor experience. In recent years, there has been an increase in the use of Utility Terrain Vehicl

Abstract:
Odonates are significant components of most wetland habitats and important indicators of their health. At Cape Cod National Seashore (CACO), we compiled odonate records dating back to the 1980s and, based partly on that data, identified 41 wetland sites for sampling, representing six freshwater habitats (kettle pond, inter-dune pond, dune slack, riparian marsh, vernal pool, and bog). We surveyed these sites for adult odonates during the 2016?2018 field seasons. Ten sites were surveyed all three years (total 19-20 surveys/site); all ten had at least some historical data. This Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering Technical Note (CHETN) describes the design and implementation of a wave model evaluation system, altWIZ, which uses wave height observations from operational satellite radar altimeters. The altWIZ system utilizes two recently released altimeter databases: Ribal and Young (2019) and European Space Agency Sea State Climate Change Initiative v.1.1 level 2 (Dodet et al. 2020). The system facilitates model evaluation against 1 Hz1 altimeter data or a product created by averaging altimeter data in space and time around model grid points. The system allows, fo
