- In this paper I explore the consistency of an idea of language structures as both universal in their nature and empirical in their genesis. To this aim, I assume the theory of the parts of speech as a case study. I proceed from a brief historical reconstruction of 20th-century theories of grammatical categories to an analysis of the semantics of the parts of speech, with particular emphasis on Ronald Langacker's philosophy of grammar. Finally I focus on the theory of prepositions in order to explore the relations between language and perception and the function of perceptual schemas at the basis of linguistic categories. Keywords: Linguistic universals, Parts of speech, Perceptual schemas, Cognitive linguistics, Prepositions, Philosophy of grammar.Parole chiave: Universali linguistici, Parti del discorso, Schemi percettivi, Linguistica cognitiva, Preposizioni, Filosofia della grammatica.

Abstract:
This article explores the concept of «Soul/Ruwx» through a cognitive-discursive lens, integrating insights from linguistics, semiotics, psychology, anthropology, and sociology. Recognizing the relative novelty of discourse analysis in Karakalpak linguistics, this study draws upon established frameworks in English and world linguistics to analyze references in texts. Utilizing cognitive-discursive analysis informed by the theories of Saussure, Lakoff, and Johnson, the research examines how the concept of «Soul/Ruwx» is linguistically constructed and communicated. By analyzing examples by Byron’s and I.Yusupov’s poems, the study identifies key linguistic elements, including references, grammatical connections, and stylistic devices, that contribute to the conceptualization and expression of the soul. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the cross-linguistic and cultural dimensions of abstract concepts, highlighting the interplay between language, cognition, and discourse in shaping human understanding.

This article delves into the intricate cognitive and linguistic dimensions of the term “frame” within contemporary linguistics. Originally introduced in artificial intelligence to organize databases, the concept of a frame has evolved to become a pivotal tool in linguistic analysis, enabling the depiction of diverse worldviews inherent to different languages. A frame is conceptualized as a structure comprising nodes (concepts) and connections, functioning akin to gestalt units by integrating sensory and rational elements. Charles Fillmore's definition positions frames as cognitive structures associated with the knowledge represented by words, encompassing both linguistic and extralinguistic information.

Abstract:
Background. This article examines the complementarity and potential for innovative synthesis of critical discourse analysis and cognitive linguistics through a literature review. Given the longstanding issue of the lack of cognitive explanation in critical discourse analysis and the weakness of the social dimension in cognitive linguistics, the study substantiates, based on scholars' reflections on the mutual theoretical challenges of both fields, how their deep synthesis through the triadic model of "cognition – discourse – society" can overcome the limitations of individual research paradigms. As a result, the theoretical advantage of cognitive critical discourse analysis in explaining the mechanisms of interaction between consciousness, language, and society is identified. Methods. The article uses the descriptive method (for the systematic analysis of studies devoted to critical discourse analysis and cognitive linguistics) and the functional method (for the study of language in action, in the process of functioning in view of the purposeful nature of language units and phenomena); established methods of modeling functional-semantic fields, discourse analysis. Results. The article analyzed studies on critical discourse analysis, highlighted its arbitrary application of linguistic theory, noted that the reliance of critical discourse analysis on linguistics leads to insufficient explanations of the relationship between discourse production mechanisms and social factors. Additionally, examined cognitive linguistics research, revealed that inadequate attention to social factors necessitates their inclusion in cognitive linguistic studies. Furthermore, the study discussed the openness of theories and corresponding shortcomings in both CDA and cognitive linguistics research, confirmed the advisability and necessity of their deep synthesis, reviewed attempted at such integration, indicatied that synthesizing these two approaches can provide broader research perspectives and analytical frameworks. Conclusions. Critical discourse analysis and cognitive linguistics have a solid foundation and broad prospects for synthesis, and existing research confirms its feasibility and advantages. Further synthesis of these two approaches can create broader opportunities for a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between discourse production mechanisms and social factors, as well as a deeper explanation of the mechanisms of meaning construction at both the cognitive and social levels.

Abstract:
The article is aimed at defining cognitive concepts and principles in Kazakh linguistics based on research papers that measure the nature of the language and the semantics of the word in the context of their functioning. The analysis of the conceptual system and cognitive paradigm in the cognitive theory of the Kazakh language is becoming an urgent problem of modern interdisciplinary science with the national identity and world practice. The cognitive theory, which originates from the spiritual and value heritage of the Kazakh people harmoniously combined the foundations of linguistic cognition, and also substantiated a wide conceptual block of the human capital’s cognition. Its complex patterns contributed to the accumulation of social, psychological, ethnic and cultural methodological foundations of normalized general and private linguistics. The possibility of comparing linguistic universals using the relationship between language and cognition also characterized the influence of anthropological, axiological, anthropo-typological, areal, and geneological factors. Thus, in the history of cognitive linguistics, which studies the laws of the environment and its linguistic picture, Kazakh linguistics has designated its research format, taking into account a number of conceptual operations.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the issues of cognitive linguistics, which studies language as a communication tool. The article postulates that cognitive linguistics is an approach to the analysis of natural language, which has as its main goal the study of language as a tool for organizing, processing and transmitting information. The author puts forward a point of view that it is fundamentally important for cognitive linguistics to analyze the conceptual base of linguistic categories, as well as certain mechanisms of information processing. The subject of the analysis in the article is the characteristic of the ratio of linguistic and cognitive modules. The purpose of the article is to analyze the correlation of linguistic and cognitive modules. The methodological basis of the study includes theoretical works on cognitive linguistics and philosophical theory of cognition, for which the priority is the study of language as a cognitive mechanism that contributes to encoding and transforming information. The emphasis is placed on the fact that language serves cognition, which is understood as both scientific and everyday comprehention of the world, realized in the processes of its conceptualization and categorization. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of verbal and non-verbal communication using the example of mental representations formed in childhood. The results of the analysis underline the ambiguous interpretation of the problem, revealing the mechanism of perception and generation of speech. A conclusion is made that communication can be divided into intentional and non-intentional. Evidence was found that the information transmission can be carried out without intention, i.e., not all information can be intentional.

Abstract:
In recent years, cognitive linguistics has gained significant traction and recognition among researchers and individuals with a vested interest in the fields of linguistics and cognitive science. This paper serves the purpose of shedding light on some of the most current and pioneering research endeavors in this domain, while also assessing their contributions towards unraveling the intricate nuances of cognitive language processing. Cognitive linguistics represents a paradigm shift in the study of language and cognition, departing from the traditional structuralist and generative approaches. It posits that language is deeply intertwined with human cognitive processes, and therefore, understanding the cognitive aspects of language use is paramount. The contemporary studies explored in this paper have played a pivotal role in advancing this perspective. These studies employ an array of methodologies and approaches, such as neuroimaging, psycholinguistics, and corpus analysis, to investigate how humans conceptualize and process language. One notable study may delve into the neural mechanisms involved in metaphor comprehension, revealing that metaphors are not mere linguistic embellishments but rooted in the perceptual and experiential systems. Another cutting-edge research area might involve examining the influence of linguistic relativity on thought, challenging the idea that language is a neutral medium for thought and instead highlighting how language structures shape the cognitive experiences. These investigations are revolutionizing the understanding of linguistic diversity and the extent to which it influences cognition. In sum, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of recent research endeavors within cognitive linguistics and to underscore their significance in unveiling the intricate processes of cognitive language comprehension. These studies have collectively contributed to the growing body of knowledge surrounding how language and thought are inherently entwined, reshaping the landscape of linguistic and cognitive inquiry.

Abstract:
In modern linguistics, the study of cognitive and pragmatic aspects of linguistic activity is a relevant research area. Neurolinguistics examines the role of the brain in shaping speech activity and the impact of cognitive mechanisms on linguistic structures. Communicative linguistics, in turn, considers language as a means of communication, analyzing the pragmatic, discursive, and socio-psychological aspects of speech acts. The integration of these two fields contributes to the development of new methodological and methodical approaches in linguistics. The aim of the study is to identify the interrelation between neurolinguistics and communicative linguistics, compare their theoretical and methodological foundations, and describe the influence of cognitive mechanisms on speech activity. In line with this objective, the research examines the cognitive processing of linguistic structures and the features of neurolinguistic and communicative-pragmatic processes. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the systematization of cognitive and neuropsychological mechanisms of linguistic activity, providing a deeper understanding of the relationship between neurolinguistics and communicative linguistics. The practical significance is in enhancing language teaching methodologies, integrating cognitive and neuropsychological approaches, analyzing the pragmatic structure of speech acts, and optimizing linguistic communication. The research employs theoretical analysis, comparative methods, discourse analysis, cognitive modeling, and content analysis. These methods enabled a comparative examination of linguistic communication across different scientific frameworks, viewing neurolinguistic and communicative factors as a unified system. The results indicate that neurolinguistics and communicative linguistics are complementary research domains. Cognitive mechanisms and pragmatic factors play a crucial role in shaping speech activity. It is demonstrated that linguistic information processing and the structure of speech behavior are regulated by cognitive processes. Furthermore, the cognitive foundations of speech act interpretation and pragmatic meanings have been clarified. This study offers a comprehensive perspective on linguistic communication through the integration of neurolinguistics and communicative linguistics. The findings contribute to the development of new scientific approaches in cognitive linguistics and the refinement of language teaching methodologies. The research findings can be applied in language teaching methodologies, the development of speech skills, and the optimization of linguistic communication. The combination of neurolinguistic and communicative-pragmatic approaches will facilitate the design of effective language acquisition strategies.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of European social advertising as a special type of modern advertising discourse, namely, the definition of its linguistic and cognitive dimension and the related linguistic and pragmatic aspect. Advertising discourse is the object of study from the point of view of cognitive linguistics as a phenomenon that is an integral part of every person’s life, having a powerful impact on the linguistic environment and the linguistic and conceptual worldview of a particular ethnicity. The cognitive analysis of advertising, in turn, complements the linguistic analysis itself. Contemporary linguists consider advertising discourse as an object of linguistic analysis at different language levels, and on the basis of advertising discourse they trace and study the formation of neologisms in the lexicon and the use of non-standard grammatical structures in the syntax of the language of advertising. That is why advertising discourse is an inexhaustible material for analysis using the methodology of such modern linguistic sciences as cognitive linguistics and linguistic pragmatics, since advertising discourse is the so-called «language in action» and, given its pragmatic orientation, generates non-standard language design of advertising texts. The analysis of numerous examples of advertising messages in the linguistic and cognitive aspect allows us to assert that advertising discourse is a complex phenomenon that condenses the entire linguistic potential based on the concepts typical for a particular ethnic group. Having studied the advertising of Belgium, Germany and France, we found that social advertising in these countries reflects the most acute problems of modern European society and is based on concepts typical for a particular society, namely, love of wine and gastronomy, care for the environment, and energy saving. Thus, the contemporary European social advertising discourse is a multidimensional phenomenon and requires a comprehensive analysis based on several linguistic theories, especially from the point of view of cognitive linguistics and pragmatics.

This special issue includes a collection of papers on language and intersubjctivity. There are two paradigms in linguistic approaches to intersubjectivity; cognitive linguistics and interactional linguistics, but these two paradigms hardly ever meet. This is due to the fact that these paradigms have opposing views on cognition and mental events. However, both these paradigms draw from phenomenology: whereas cognitive linguistic approaches to intersubjectivity have their basis on Husserl's philosophy, interactional linguistics is influenced by ethnomethodological conversation analysis and the philosophy of Schutz. Despite the apparent differences between these approaches, there are convergences, too. Moreover, both approaches are needed for a full account of language and human intersubjectivity.

The paper studies the concept of “Ene” (“Mother”) in the Kyrgyz language. In the theoretical study the research reviews literature on cognitive linguistics, ethnolinguistics and the Kyrgyz history; basic notions of cognitive linguistics are revealed. The cognitive and linguistic nature and linguistic verbalization of the concept of “Ene” (“Mother”) are discussed. Idioms, verbalizing the concept, reveal several cognitive signs and cognitive topics. In the Kyrgyz language, the concept of “Ene” (“Mother”) is perceived through the prism of the natural code, through the image of the sun, the moon, water (the source of life). The Kyrgyz associate mother with their ancient philosophy: concept of “Ene” (“Mother”) is manifested in the sacred image of the ancient Kyrgyz goddess Umay Ene. In the culture of the Kyrgyz and other Turkic peoples, Umay Ene represents the saint symbol of the great mother and protector of the child.

Abstract:
Cognitive Grammar analyses the semantics of linguistic features in relation to human cognition; Free Indirect Style allows authors to represent their characters’ cognition with language. This article applies Cognitive Grammar to the analysis of a character’s mind that is represented with Free Indirect Style. In the tradition of mind style analysis, it aims to use linguistics to reveal some of the underlying cognitive processes and proclivities at work in the character’s psychology. The character in question is the protagonist in Malcolm Lowry’s Under the Volcano, an alcoholic who is largely characterised by his drunken behaviour and ideation. This article therefore focuses on the linguistic features that serve to represent his inebriated state of mind. It analyses the semantic effects of those features primarily in terms of attentional focus, drawing on Cognitive Grammar concepts, such as objective construal, specificity, scope, profile and domain, and relating these to the protagonist’s cognitive proclivities for solipsism, partial awareness, delayed reaction, attenuated experience and self-delusion. The article also discusses the theoretical background for mind style analysis, arguing for the continued importance of focusing on the relationship between the text and a character’s mind, alongside the focus on the reader’s mind that has come to dominate cognitive stylistics.

The article presents the results of a comprehensive study of the complex cognitive-linguistic mechanisms underlying the formation and representation of spiritual-philosophical concepts in J. O&rsquo;Donohue&rsquo;s <em>Anam Cara: Spiritual Wisdom from the Celtic World</em> (1997). Drawing on cognitive linguistics, philosophy, and cultural studies, the study illuminates how spirituality is constructed using linguistic devices in the text studied. Our findings contribute to the growing body of scientific knowledge in cognitive psychology, linguistics, and cultural studies as they elucidate the intertwined nature of cognitive processes, linguistic factors, and cultural influences in forming and interpreting spiritual and philosophical concepts. Our findings indicate that images and metaphors related to the concepts of the soul, light, and mystery are frequently employed in expressing spiritual and philosophical ideas in the novel through personifications, juxtapositions, and syntactic constructions such as parallelisms and antitheses. In conclusion, such interdisciplinary research provides a foundation for further exploration and refinement of theoretical frameworks and methodologies in these fields, contributing to research and practical application advances.

Abstract:
This study examines cognitive linguistics within the framework of the anthropocentric paradigm, focusing on the dynamic interplay between language and thought. The study aims to unravel how these two elements mutually shape and influence each other, highlighting the centrality of the anthropocentric perspective in understanding cognitive processes. The research underscores the relevance of this approach in contemporary linguistics, offering valuable insights into the ways in which language not only reflects but also molds our perception of reality. Through a detailed analysis, the study explores how linguistic structures inform cognitive frameworks and how these structures, in turn, guide thought patterns. The findings demonstrate that language is a key determinant in shaping cognitive processes and influencing how individuals conceptualize and engage with the world around them. The author's scientific contribution lies in advancing linguistic theories and offering innovative perspectives on the practical applications of the anthropocentric paradigm, particularly in the domains of education and cognitive science. By focusing on the role of language in cognitive development, the research opens new avenues for future exploration and provides a critical reassessment of existing linguistic models. This work invites further inquiry into the intersection of language, thought, and cognition, contributing to a deeper understanding of the human mind and its connection to language. Ultimately, the study emphasizes the transformative potential of the anthropocentric approach in reshaping linguistic and educational methodologies.

Abstract:
The article is dedicated to the embodiment of reality in the poetic model of the world of the British poetry by means of the linguistic and poetic analysis of tropes as the way to actualize cognitive processes in the formation of the world model. By means of linguistic, poetic and cognitive analysis the cognitive aspect of the poetry of the British romantic, modern and post-modern periods is investigated. From the position of cognitive linguistics and cognitive poetics poetry is analyzed as the embodiment in the poetical works the result of cognition of a poet and his interpretation of reality on the background of his physical, social and cultural experience. Reconstruction of the poetical model of the world on the base of British poetical texts is accentuated on the notion of poetry and poetic texts, on the reflection of reality in poetry, on esthetic aspect of poetry and on linguistic and communicative peculiarities of poetry. The article is actual as the generalization of linguistic, poetic and cognitive paradigms aimed to the construction of the model of the world of different cultural and historic periods. The aim and the results of investigation are determined by the specification of the poetical viewpoint embodied in the British poetry of romantic, modern and post-modern periods.

Abstract:
This article traces the evolution of idiomatic expression studies in Romanian linguistics, highlighting its alignment with broader linguistic movements, including early cognitive approaches. Through a historical analysis – spanning from Lazăr Șăineanu in the 19th century to Stelian Dumistrăcel in the 20th century – it demonstrates how Romanian phraseology anticipated key aspects of cognitive semantics. Idiomatic expressions not only enrich language but also structure collective thought, revealing deep connections between language, culture, and cognition. Romanian linguistics developed an original conception of metaphor that largely anticipated the "contemporary theory" of conceptual metaphor proposed by cognitive semantics. Analyses from Romanian philologists, folklorists, and linguists reveal an early cognitive perspective on metaphor, contrasting with the traditional rhetorical view. Unlike cognitive semantics, where the metaphor’s image remains external to word meanings, Romanian linguists integrate the image with linguistic concepts and cultural worldviews. The article also highlights key contributions from Romanian scholars, showing how their early work foreshadowed later formalized approaches by Lakoff and Johnson (1980). Furthermore, it examines the lexicalization of metaphors, demonstrating that while this process diminishes their evocative power, metaphors remain essential to language structure and function.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to studying socially determined linguistic processes, which are traditionally associated with the broad problem of social variation of communication (discourse) and linguistic variability of the German language. It presents the results of a study conducted within the framework of cognitive sociolinguistics - the linguistics of social meanings. The author observes continuity in the development of scientific thought, explores the problem of linguistic variability in two modes - theoretical and applied. The subject of the research is the terminological apparatus and specific linguistic facts that are based on the cognitive, communicative and social functions of language, that is, to be the reality of the thought of individual and/or collective knowledge of representatives of a certain society and the means of their communication. The purpose of the article is to analyze theoretical propositions, linguistic terms and existing specific language forms that convey social meanings, marked by a social feature in their terminological interpretations with a focus on the linguistic picture of the Germany new lands. The novelty of the research lies in cognitive-semantic analysis, systematization and modeling this phenomenon in the social aspect. As a result, the author comes to her own conclusions, which lead to understanding and rethinking the old views on the problems of dialectology in the context of modern realities of the German language society and the data of modern linguistics. The methodology of the research and the description of its results are determined by the principle of interdependence of the three most important didactic and linguistic strata - the study of modern language from the standpoint of linguistic norms, the study of linguistic variability and the analysis of language change in the framework of its historical development. General scientific methods and special methods of cognitive linguistics are used to analyze theoretical material and linguistic facts, including explanatory description, interpretation, cognitive modeling, cognitive dominance, and focusing.

Abstract:
Background This study examines the Arabic semi-prepositional contronym /warā’a/ in the Holy Quran, which conveys the dual meanings of ‘behind’ and ‘in front of.’ By employing cognitive linguistic frameworks—Prototype Theory, Image Schema Theory, Conceptual Metaphor Theory, and Frame Semantics—the research investigates the cognitive mechanisms underlying the term’s semantic versatility. Methods An in-depth cognitive linguistic analysis was conducted, supported by collocational analysis to explore how /warā’a/ is interpreted in diverse contexts. The study analyzed both prototypical spatial meanings and their metaphorical extensions, focusing on semantic priming and contextual interpretation. Results The findings reveal that the prototypical spatial meaning of /warā’a/ (‘behind’) dynamically extends to metaphorical and temporal contexts, encompassing ideas of concealment, control, deliberate ignorance, future anticipation, and other nuanced interpretations. The research highlights the role of semantic priming in shaping contextual meanings and offers actionable insights for translation accuracy in religious texts. Conclusions This study fills gaps in existing research by providing a detailed exploration of /warā’a/’s semantic complexity. It bridges theoretical insights and practical applications, offering innovative strategies for linguistics and translation studies. Future research directions include cross-linguistic studies of contronyms, psycholinguistic experiments on contradictory meanings, and culturally-informed cognitive-semantic translation strategies. This work contributes significantly to Arabic linguistics and cognitive translation studies.

Abstract:
The study of habitual structures within language involves understanding how habitual actions or states are expressed and interpreted across different linguistic systems. Habitual structures are linguistic constructions used to describe actions or situations that occur regularly or typically. These structures are a significant aspect of human cognition, as they help represent routine activities, customs, and recurring events. The analysis of habitual structures within the framework of cognitive linguistics and functional semantics provides a deep insight into how habituality is conceptually organized and conveyed in language. This article explores the functional-semantic and linguocognitive features of habitual structures, focusing on their role in grammar, meaning, and cognition. Through an examination of habitual constructions, we aim to shed light on their linguistic functions, cognitive representations, and the various ways languages encode habituality.

Abstract:
This study aims to compile a systematic review of the use of metaphors, prototypes, and meaning analysis within the scope of cognitive linguistics through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Cognitive linguistics is a branch of linguistics that examines the relationship between language, thought, and human experience. This field focuses on three key concepts: conceptual metaphor, prototype structure, and the dynamics of meaning analysis. This review involves analyzing relevant literature, including journal articles, books, and research reports, to identify patterns, trends, and gaps in previous studies. The findings indicate that conceptual metaphors play a crucial role in representing human experience, while prototype theory provides insights into conceptual categories and meaning perception. Furthermore, meaning analysis within cognitive linguistics tends to be interdisciplinary, involving cognitive psychology, anthropology, and computer science. This study also highlights that the integration of digital technology in cognitive linguistic analysis presents new opportunities for developing more accurate methods. Overall, this research provides a comprehensive mapping of current literature and offers recommendations for future research directions, particularly in applying cognitive linguistics to understand language and cultural phenomena.

The article examines the emotional nuances of the Kazakh language concept kȍk in language use. The research article reviews the works of scientists who studied the semantic meaning of the names of species and colors in domestic and foreign linguistics and linguistic units in expressing human feelings. The linguistic character of the concept of kȍk is analyzed, revealing the cognitive nature of emotional, expressive words. In addition, a cognitive and linguistic analysis was made of the words expressing inner excitement through the intuition of a person, which is often used in connection with the lexeme kȍk in our language. The linguistic image of the world through the concept of kȍk in national culture and text through the words that express the mood of a person allows to reveal the inner world of humanity and thereby to observe the level of acceptance of joy and sorrow of the whole people. The main goal of the scientific article is to cognitively analyze the emotional tone of the color kȍk within the conceptual field of color names. In the research article, the emotional aspects of the colors and the color kȍk are considered from a cognitive point of view. There are still many problems in Kazakh linguistics, which have not been deeply studied, undiscovered, and undefined aspects of emotional signs of colors. In our modern research, we will consider the emotional aspects of the color kȍk in a linguistic and cognitive manner. From the linguistic point of view, the emotional meaning of kȍk in phraseological words is emphasized individually, and their cognitive nature in linguistic and cultural cognition is deeply studied.

Abstract:
The work reported here primarily aims to realize the automatic generation of couplets using the linguistic topology of deep neural network (DNN). First, the symmetry, topology, and cognitive linguistics of language are explored to lay a theoretical foundation for subsequent model establishment and analysis. Then, the recurrent neural network (RNN) is employed to build the Seq2Seq model, and Liweng’s Guide to Rhyme (an ancient Chinese enlightenment reading material to poetry creation) is imported into the Seq2Seq model as a basic corpus. Eventually, the entire system is implemented automatically on TensorFlow. The system undergoes tests of the five-character quatrain, the seven-character quatrain, the couplet, and the part-of-speech detection. Results demonstrate that both the first and the second lines of the couplet present an excellent correspondence regarding sentences and words. After some famous verses are entered, the second line of the couplet obtained is quite vivid and appropriate. Meanwhile, the results can be generated quickly and meet the requirements on rhyme and couplet matching. This model can input verses according to users’ own needs and generate the second line of the couplet quickly, showing good correspondence in words, part-of-speech, and sentence pattern. Because the couplet belongs to Chinese traditional culture, it has a strong local Chinese cultural flavor. The system designed based on computer technology can help people learn and experience the charm of couplets.

The aim of the study is to identify and describe the patterns of forming the scientific linguistic world picture in the process of teaching Russian in secondary schools. Theoretical analysis of scientific literature, observation, pedagogical experiment were used as scientific methods. The scientific publications on cultural linguistics, cognitive linguistics, theory and methodology of teaching the Russian language were the research materials. The definition of the concept “scientific linguistic picture of the world” is given in relation to the tasks of teaching the Russian language. The authors revealed that the formation of the scientific linguistic picture of the world is formed through learning new words and concepts as a result of observation, analysis and interpretation of language phenomena from linguistic positions during categorization and conceptualization primarily at the lexical level. The formation of scientific linguistic world picture is based on the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired at Russian language lessons and, to a certain extent, is set in the guidelines of the textbook authors. The main didactic means of forming the scientific linguistic world picture is the scientific linguistic text. The leading method of forming the scientific linguistic world picture is cognitive linguistic tasks, including comparative ones. Abstract:
Structural and semantic linguistics has accumulated colossal experience in the systematization of language units, the relationships between them, has formed a unified view of the language as a complex system. Cognitive and discursive paradigm in linguistics has made it possible to explain linguistic and speech characteristics with the context and attracted the cognitive nature of the linguistic sign as a full-fledged component of analysis. Transferring the idea of anthropocentrism to the figure of the second participant in communication, it came to the conclusion that the last component plays large role in the communicative interaction between addresser - text - addressee, and that the interpretive potential of the text depends on the cognitive abilities of this addressee and his discursive baggage. In the/given article the listed characteristics of the state of modern linguistics made it possible to try to identify an interdependent relationship between the structural and semantic characteristics of language units selected by the author of a literary text from the arsenal of the language and woven into its syntagmatics, and the cognitive and discursive «subtext» that linguistics extracts from the text, which helps expose the author’s intentions more clearly. The material for the analysis made fragments of works by the classical Russian literature authors (I.A. Bunin, I.A. Goncharov, M.M. Prishvin, A.P. Chekhov), structural and semantic analysis was used as a leading method, supplemented with elements of content and discourse analysis. The novelty of the research lies in the desire to make a linguistic analysis of the speech canvas of a literary text in the context of new explanatory «horizons» that have opened up due to the cognitive-discursive paradigm. The study of the linguistic «details» of specific fragments of literary texts has shown that the interpretation of a literary text is based on the characteristics of linguistic units (morphemes, words, word forms, syntactic constructions, CSI, etc.) described in detail within the framework of the structural and semantic paradigm, expanding the view of the contextual environment (in this case - already broad context) allows introduce into the interpretation arguments that depend on the interpreter’s own reading and within his value system.

Abstract:
Taking present-day Vilnius County, which marks the cultural and linguistic periphery, as a case study, the attempt is made in this paper to expand the horizons of traditional onomastic research by introducing Cognitive Metaphor Theory (CMT) as an innovative approach to understanding the motivation of toponyms. Onomastic research has traditionally focused on toponyms’ etymology, derivation, and historical context. In contrast, this article explores how the application of CMT enhances our understanding of the cognitive processes inherent in toponymy. In this way, this study contributes to advancing the disciplinary field of cognitive onomastics by providing insights into how language and cognition intertwine in the conceptualization and naming of geographical features. Rooted in cognitive linguistics, CMT assumes that abstract concepts are often understood and structured through metaphors derived from tangible experiences. In the context of toponymy, this research investigates how place names are not merely linguistic labels for geographic locations but are inherently linked to cognitive structures and mental representations. CMT facilitates our understanding of toponyms’ linguistic and historical dimensions and uncovers the cognitive processes underlying their creation and interpretation. By bridging the traditional onomastic research with a cognitive approach, this novel perspective offers a deeper insight into the complex interplay of language, cognition, and geographical space. The analysis integrates traditional onomastic research methods with Cognitive Onomastics principles, utilizing frameworks from both Lithuanian and foreign scholars to classify selected Vilnius County toponyms through etymological, derivational, and semantic analyses, while also examining associated extralinguistic data. The analysis found that metaphorical toponyms in Vilnius County, though relatively uncommon, carry symbolic or cultural meaning. A total of 38 metaphorical names were identified among limnonyms, potamonyms, and oikonyms, highlighting their role in depicting the interplay between language, culture, and the environment.

Abstract:
In the article, the linguistic-cognitive aspect of English borrowings in contemporary Italian is considered. The globalization of the English language is one of the driving forces that raises questions about language contacts and interactions in modern linguistics. The presented scientific investigation aims to identify the linguistic-cognitive features of the usage of English borrowings in Italian-language news discourse. The linguistic-cognitive approach allows for analyzing the behavior of speakers and the organization of conceptual space in human consciousness. The article discusses the factors and phenomena to which users of the linguistic code are subordinate, as well as the impulses of internal and external systems that accelerate the penetration of English equivalents into the Italian language. English borrowings are revealed taking into account the universal characteristics of open systems. The article asserts that the analyzed linguistic-cognitive processes are universal-systemic, as they can be applied to the analysis of factors and phenomena of various natures, including linguistic and psychological.

Abstract:
Cognitive sciences were officially included in the nomenclature of scientific specialties in Russia in 2021. However, the issue of the subject and method of cognitive science in general and its projection on text analysis in particular remains little known to the general scientific community. Linguistic text analysis has gone through several stages of evolution. Each of them accumulates the critical aspects highlighting the necessity to search for new approaches. There are three such approaches in linguistics: structural, communicative, cognitive. The structural paradigm made it possible to solve scientific problems using the example of simple language units. However, it was experiencing serious difficulties in studying complex emergent phenomena, to which the text belongs. Some of these difficulties were leveled by including a communicative approach in the linguist’s methodological baggage. At the same time, a significant layer of factors influencing on the meaning generation of the text remained outside the scope of the research focus. As a result, the linguocognitive approach to text analysis was formed in linguistics. This made it possible to include not only linguistic structures, but also the widest range of mental structures (concepts, frames and slots, prototypes, categories, conceptual oppositions, gestalts, mental spaces and models, conceptual metaphors, precedent phenomena, semantic networks) and cognitive operations (conceptualization, categorization, inference, causal attribution, conceptual projections, blending) in the analysis. Thus, the linguocognitive approach to text analysis increases the heuristics of scientific research due to it is aimed at studying of semantic processes as mental processes.
