Abstract:
The paper takes a realistic coke drum as an example. A finite element analysis model using ANSYS is made, acquired with indirect coupling method, and circumferential thermal stress field of coke drum is calculated. Especially, the boundary conditions are based on the measured data of the realistic coke drum. Then circumferential thermal stress field of coke drum is calculated. The calculation results indicate that the circumferential temperature difference with the same height has little impact to stress of the drum and the circumferential temperature difference has the most important effect o

Delayed coking coke drum is the core equipment of delayed coking technology, which experiences almost all the thermal and mechanical loadings during operation. In this study, two coke drum finite element models have been created with four material models and the thermal boundary conditions are determined based on the temperature measurement data. Finite element analysis methods known as function loading and multiple steps analysis are used through the simulation. Temperature distributions and temperature variation curves of different nodes are then obtained by finite element heat transfer anal

This research uses KSJ decarbonizing electric furnace, drum-I and high temperature compressive testing machine to furthest simulate the coke’s actual actions in the blast furnace.
