Full textThe proposed project for this thesis, is about the design of a Public school in the district of Villa El Salvador, district of Lima, province of Peru, which proposes a new proposal of educational typology. Since the choice of land, several important aspects were taken into account, which helped to find the architectural concept of the project and how it would be located in its surroundings. The proposal proposed for its location makes it attractive, since it is located in front of the National Technological University of South Lima and the Higher Technological Institute Julio C. Tello, this set of buildings, led to propose an urban proposal, which helped strengthen the educational area in the district. The project itself is the approach of a school that has as an initial concept, the modulation of the classroom, which is repeated one after another is forming the spatial sequence that creates the main volumetry leaving as a central space a cloister that would integrate all the environments of the school. In conclusion, document presents and explains from the starting point, the architectural idea, the concept by which the given volume is reached and how the project has been developed until reaching the proposed proposal.

Full textThe presented thesis project consists in the design of a public school located in the district of San Juan de Miraflores, in Lima, which seeks to study the pedagogical space and identify how architectural qualities and spatial compositions can influence in the learning of the student. Furthermore, the aim is to analyze in which way emphasizing sports environment of a school can benefit different aspects of it and how the project can be integrated into the community. In this sense, other projects are taken as reference in which, the engaging of, for example, the Montessori or Reggio Emilia methods, implie a particular spatial configuration and interconnection with the natural environment designed for the student. In order to achieve this, the intend is to deploy ludic-experimental aspects in educational environments composed in "experimental" spaces, in which the spatial versatility, the proximity to nature and, therefore, the interaction with the outside, encourages the student to experiment and learn more independently and creatively. On the other hand, as a means to impose sports facilities that directly benefit the school, the sport component aims to manifest itself as a representative architecture and infrastructure of this kind, which, in addition to enable the realization of different sports and activities, it establishes spaces where pedagogical activities are developed. Finally, in order to integrate the project into the community, it is sought to broaden, selectively, the use of common and/or sport areas towards potential users outside the project without altering its operation.

The Project, in addition to being of educational purposes for the students, will also allow recreational, sports and cultural uses to the community.

El project focuses on school infrastructure to cover the deficit, the needs of the students and learn to cope witch the climatic conditions of the district. Another central theme of the project is to reuse traditional constructive systems characteristic of the buildings of the Peruvian jungle, as well as being able to see reflected in the school the culture of the district. It seeks to take advantage of the benefits that the area with the capture of rainwater and solar panel system the allows us to illuminate part of this. The school is divided into area classrooms and a “public” area that plan to be shared weekends whit the inhabitants of the community “to enable the creation of the proper atmosphere to live, in which each person can find a favorable environment to live, rest and feel identified

Full textThe project presents an educational-cultural typology, in which initial, primary and secondary education will be taught under the new methodologies of interdisciplinary education. The identified place with potential for the development of the project is located in the distric of Pachacamac, which has the highest percentage of population of school age in Metropolitan Lima, and yet, the number of schools that exist in the area only reach 70% of this sector of the population. The building has taken concepts from the architectural typologies developed in the history of Pachacamac (Casa Huerta, Las Ruinas) as the presence of large areas of cultivation and the institutionality in the facade, in order to become a building that preserves the identity of the area through the years. The program is divided into four sectors : the administrative area, the service area, the academic area and the communal spaces. The school includes the multipurpose room, specialized workshops, library, technological innovation classrooms and cultivation areas so that these can also be used by the community outside of school hours and can guarantee the animation of the project during the day.

Full textSchool architecture has become conceived as the creation of long corridors, compact and rigid classrooms without meeting spaces for students' interaction. These characteristics respond to a traditional teaching methodology; however, nowadays, the new pedagogical needs are different since their priority is to consider active learning that focuses on the student. For this reason, a public primary and secondary school with an emphasis on architecture for active learning applied to three physical-spatial elements is proposed. These elements are: flexibility, playfulness and connection to the outside spaces. Likewise, this is proposed to strengthen the bond between the school and the community, sharing certain spaces outside of school hours. In addition, it should be noted that this project is developed in Manchay, in the Pachacamac district, a peripheral area of the Lima city with a fast population growth and deficit in educational infrastructure. Therefore, the research was about the typology, architectural emphasis, referential projects, users, architectural programming and study of the place. Finally, the design principles are proposed for the elaboration of the architectural project.

Full textAt the present time, in Peru, there is a substantial deficit in the educational system, which can be seen reflected in the statistics of world education rankings. This deficit is caused by multiple factors, such as the lack of teacher capacitation, the lack of pedagogical material in institutions, an inadequate administrative system, amongst others. Besides from the problems previously mentioned, there is an existing factor that is directly involved with urban planning and architecture: the enormous gap in educational infrastructure in the country. The lack of quality educational infrastructure, in definitive, is one of the main causes for the national educational deficit. This is due to the fact that population in the school-age range do not have a space in which they can study and learn every day. It is important to mention that the ones that actually exist do not meet the essential requirements to offer an appropriate and modern education. This is why the thesis project developed in this current document is a public school. The purpose of this document is to analyse the surroundings in which the educational gap is present. In this way, it will be possible to measure the current necessity, and take in consideration all the multiple factors that influence in the design of an edification. The analysis is organized in 4 chapters: theme presentation, referential projects, architectural programming and terrain, and urban record. Each of the chapters will expose relevant information in relation to the subject, with the purpose of carrying out real and adequate architecture later on.

Full textThe following research has the purpose of laying the foundations for an architectural design of a public early, primary and secondary school which responds to the social needs of a vulnerable sector in the city, as well as the new approaches to school design and the lack of educational and sports infrastructure with just one architectural intervention. Located in an informal settlement in Villa Maria del Triunfo, lacking adequate public space and infrastructure, the void is seen as an opportunity for informal learning and gathering and thus becoming more important than the built and defined classroom spaces. Designing the void and the enclosed space simultaneously, through its distribution, materiality and detailing is what allows the school to draw the community inside the project, use more efficiently its infrastructure and create a sense of identity between the users and the project. Finally demonstrating that by following the effort, guidelines and new pedagogical vision proposed by the Ministry of Education in Peru it’s possible to propose a building of high architectural and social quality.
