Full textThis study aims to know the parents’ perception of school-family partnership mainly when their child is being victimized in primary school. A total of 4 394 parents completed the survey QSVE/parents (Beaumont et al., 2013). The results show that the majority of parents have a positive perception of this partnership, but it is perceived more positively by parents of preschoolers. However, those who believe their child is being victimized at school have a less positive perception of this partnership. In elementary school, nearly 20% of parents said they had reported their child’s victimization at school during the year. A significant relationship was observed between the number of times that parents have advised the school and their level of satisfaction regarding the support received by the school staff. Although the perception of school-family partnership becomes less positive depending on the number of times that the parent reported this victimization, the results suggest that nearly 40% of parents who reported it four times or more during the school year were satisfied with the assistance received by the school. Finally, suggestions emphasizing the importance to further reflect on the conditions that facilitate school-family partnership in such difficult circumstances are proposed.

Full textThe phage-like RNA polymerases, encoded in the nucleus (NEP; Nuclear Encoded RNA Polymerase) ensure partial!y plastidial genome transcription in higher plants. This work underlined the existence of a new protein family potentially able to interact with NEP in dicotyledon plants: NIP proteins (NEP Interacting Protein). NIP proteins are only present in higher plants and their synthesis is light dependant. Their C-terminal region presents a RINC finger protein-protein interacting domain. Using immundetection, we show the first time that NIP proteins are integrated into thylakoid membranes, keeping probably NEP close to the membrane on the stroma side. This association to membranes offers new insights into NEP activity in chloroplasts of dicotyledon plants

Full textPharmacists’ work in family medicine group (FMG) and their role in the management of clients with complex needs is an innovation in Quebec province whose have hardly been studied. The objectives were to assess the integration of pharmacists and to study the influence of their presence in these multidisciplinary care teams on interprofessional collaboration. A qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured interviews and questionnaires (Pharmacist-Physician Collaborative Index (PPCI) and Team Climate Inventory (ICE)) with doctors (Md), pharmacists and other professionals inside and outside four FMGs in Quebec city. A thematic content analysis was performed for the interviews. Statistical analyzes describing collaboration, team climate and comparing different backgrounds and professionals were also carried out. We met 45 professionals (6 pharmacists (inside FMG), 13 MD, 11 others, 15 pharmacists (outside FMG). Pharmacists were working in FMG since a mean of 3.75 years. Interviews indicate that the successful integration of the pharmacist into FMG requires time and effort from the organization, pharmacists and other professionals, particularly with respect to understanding roles. The level of collaboration between doctors and pharmacists is high with lower scores on two dimensions (i.e. definition of roles and working relationships). Team climate is generally good with higher scores for FMGs having a focus on training (university affiliated). These results allow a better understanding of the integration of the pharmacist into family medicine groups and on the organizational impacts that these health professionals can have in primary care teams.

Full textThe current industrial management tools generally rely on Concurrent Engineering, which involves conducting Product Lifecycle Management stages in parallel and integrating technical data for sharing across different experts. Various experts use domain-specific software to produce various data into Digital mock-up. These multidisciplinary experts have trends to work collaboratively during product development. During co-located synchronous collaborative design activities, such as project review and decision-making, experts from different domains must discuss, negotiate, and compromise to solve multidisciplinary differences. Many areas, such as early collaborative design and multi-expert product evaluation, have a great demand for new collaborative support tools. With the development of Human Computer Interaction, it is possible to devise more intuitive tools to enhance co-located collaboration across experts. In this thesis, to enhance the collaboration with experts on different domains to communicate with DMU, a multi-user interface across users with different representations during a collaborative work has been taken into consideration and its influence on co-located multidisciplinary collaboration is investigated. A schema of the methodology for evaluating the contribution to a multi-user system and the multiple users’ experiences is proposed. Results of experiments show the significances of the efficiency of task, the usability of interface, and the performance of collaboration during the use of multi-user CHI in multidisciplinary collaborative scenarios. The contributions of what multi-user interface brings to the design criteria of multi-user interface and multi-user co-located collaboration are discussed

Full textCollaborative logistics have become recently an important element for many companies to improve their supply chains efficiency. In this thesis, we study pickup and delivery problems to improve supply chains efficiency thanks to collaborative transportation. The thesis was part of the European project SCALE (Step Change in Agri-food Logistics Ecosystem). Firstly, two metaheuristics are proposed and studied to solve the Pickup and Delivery Problem with Transshipments. These metaheuristics are compared with literature works and the results of several instances are improved. Secondly, a mathematical model for a pickup and delivery problem (PDVRP) is proposed. This model is used to study the benefits of collaboration on transportation. It is applied on random data and on a case study from SCALE with real data. Finally, a model for a particular PDVRP is presented. In this model, the shipments have to cross exactly two transshipments nodes between their pickup and delivery points. This problem is inspired by a second case study made during the project SCALE. This allows to highlight the importance of collaboration and transshipment in the field of goods transportations

Full textEach person is likely to live an accident involving a deep change of her body. This dreaded situation does not always arrive only at the others. Among the people who do not leave unscathed of their accident, some are touched by an irreversible motor deficiency, which can take the form of a paralysis or an amputation of one or more members of their body. These people make the experiment of the motor disability. This destabilizing experiment cannot be reduced with its only body dimension. It implies, for the individual, to have to compose with an institutional period (at the hospital, then in a center or a unit of rehabilitation and readjustment, during several months, even years), to reformulate his existence, like rebuilding his marital relation. Hardly studied in the field of the sociology of the couple or the sociology of the disability, the marital dimension of the experiment of the motor disability makes it possible to seize at the same time the dynamics of the marital relation and the capacity of this relation to attenuate a durable and destabilizing test for the individual having a motor deficiency. Starting from interviews carried out near women and men confronted with a motor deficiency (hemiplegia, paraplegia, tetraplegia, amputation) for a few years, this thesis has proposed, on the one hand, to analyze the ways in which these individuals (re)build their experiment of the motor disability with their spouse and, on the other hand, of seizing the consequences of the appearance of motor deficiency on their marital relation

Full textDeoxynivalenol (DON), nivalenol (NIV) and zearalenone (ZEA) are fusariotoxins contaminating a large variety of cereals while growing on crops. As human and animal contamination mainly occurs by the oral route, fusariotoxins must pass through the intestinal epithelial barrier to produce any potential health effects. In vitro studies of DON and NIV transfer in Caco-2 cells has shown that these toxins are efficiently absorbed by passive diffusion and actively secreted by efflux transporters ABCB1 and ABCC2. Caco-2 and LS174T intestinal cells exposed to ZEA during 72h has lead to induction of ABCC2, ABCG2 genes and ABCB1, ABCC1 genes respectively. However, protein level and transport activity of the corresponding transporters have not been induced by ZEA. Transport of fusariotoxins as unavoidable food contaminants by ABC transporters may modify the absorption of other transporters substrates, by competition

Full textIn the 1970s, the Soviet filmmakers, despite of all the restraints and being obliged to conform to the censorship criteria, were able to create quality movies. It is possible to consider that the originality and a certain freedom of expression were the characteristics of the Soviet cinema at that period, due to the fact that the control over the content of movies had become less strict than in previous decades. These years were marked by the birth of the successful collaboration between the filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov and the composer Edouard Artemiev. A deep insight of his country's history and literature is a distinctive feature of all the movies made by Mikhalkov. This particularity brought the director the Grand Prix at Cannes and the Oscar for the best foreign film for his movie Burnt by the Sun (1994). As for Artemiev, the author of the opera Crime and Punishment, his perfect knowledge of different styles (classical music, electronic music, rock and world music) allowed him to possess a wide range of possibilities in order to accomplish the most difficult tasks in creating the film music. This is the tandem of two incontestable masters in their respective fields, two artists who complement each other. This research aims to explore the musical language and the aesthetic choices of Edouard Artemiev, as well as the different functions of his music in the films of Nikita Mikhalkov. This study is based on the extracts of different scores, providing the concrete references to the reader

Full textFrancis Picabia (1879 – 1953), well-known French painter of the beginning of the twentieth century, was also an experimentalist poet of the avant-garde milieu, who wrote throughout his entire life. Part of his writings have been edited, but many unpublished works can still be found in archives. The Dada period of his poetry is perhaps best known, more particularly for his drawing-poems, but I have discovered during my research that his late writings contain many unrevealed aspects. Particularly after he met the editor Pierre André Benoit (PAB) in 1948, a new important period began in Picabia’s poetic output, during which he published his writings from 1939 to 1951. This intense collaboration took place mainly at a distance, through the exchange of frequent letters, soon turning into a sincere friendship. These publications, most of which are one-of-a-kind books, are printed personally by PAB on his printing press, and are often illustrated by the artist or by the editor himself.Surprisingly, Picabia’s late poetry is strongly marked by Friedrich Nietzsche’s writings, in particular by The Gay Science (1882). The “borrowings” are so evident, that they call for a specific, new interpretation: thus, this peculiar creative process can be seen as a phenomenon of appropriation, or “intertextual rewriting”. This process of “copying”, was applied by the artist indistinctively to his art and poetry and can function as a possible solutionfor the classification of his controversial poems

Full textThe Ballets suédois was formed in Paris in 1920 by Rolf de Maré, director, and Jean Biirlin, choreographer. In its five-year existence, this company asserted its wish to break away from the Russianhegemony by proposing daring performances. The most innovative of them were created in collaborationwith composers from 'les six' such as Milhaud, Poulenc, Honeger, Auric or Tailleferre, and also with thecontribution of writers and painters such as Jean Cocteau, Paul Claudel, Blaise Cendrars, RicciottoCanudo, Fernand Léger, Jean Hugo or Irène Lagut. Between 1921 and 1923, the company stagedMilhaud's L'Homme et son désir and La Création du monde, Honegger's Skating Rink, Tailleferre'sMarchand d'oiseaux and The Marriage on the Eiffel Tower by 'les six' (to which Durey did notcontribute) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées; so many prototypes on which drama, painting and musicnot only imposed constant choreographic renewal, but a renewal of the ballet as a genre. This thesis dealswith the connection between those compositions and the different forms of art they combine in the samecreative energy. The genetic study is based on the comparison of the handwritten scores with thetapuscripts and the manuscripts of the librettos (kept at the Dansmuseet in Stockholm or at the FundsBlaise Cendrars of the Swiss Literary Archives in Bern). It also studies correspondence, models ofscenery, costumes, choreographic sketches and aims at defining the place and role of al! the performers in_those ballets. It stresses the impact the collaboration between the Swedish and 'les six' had, not only onthe evolution of dancing, but also on thal of other forms of arts

Full textAbstract : Children with limited school readiness are at risk for behavioral problems, which impact their school adjustment. Parents’ involvement in school, such as family-school partnership (FSP), may be a protective factor improving child's adaptation throughout their school career. Literature shows the important role of the FSP in reducing behavioral difficulties, especially for children from disadvantaged families. This study aims to explain child externalizing and internalizing behavior problems in kindergarten through FSP in children showing a limited school readiness. Linear regressions show that a frequent communication between the parent and the teacher is associate with a greater presence of externalizing and internalizing behaviors for the whole sample (n=47). However, FSP moderates the relationship between the demographics vulnerabilities and internalized child behavior problem in kindergarten. Indeed, for disadvantaged families, when there is a more frequent communication, children have less internalized behaviors.

Full textFood allergy has become an increasingly important public health issue that has major psychosocial impact on adolescents and their families. To this day, however, few studies have examined the nursing actions supporting those families on a daily basis. This research aims to explore the nursing strategies that help families with an adolescent at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis by sharing the perspective of the families and the school nurses. A qualitative design, fourth-generation evaluation by Guba and Lincoln (1989), was used for its hermeneutical and dialectical methodology to explore the perspective of participants and facilitate its consolidation. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews (family, individual and validation) and focus groups with six families with an adolescent diagnosed with severe life-threatening food allergy and six school nurses. During the research, five interviews with other professionals were also conducted. In total, 33 interviews were conducted with all participants. The qualitative data analysis has led to the discovery of the nursing strategies that help families, such as educating the family about habits of vigilance, seeking a satisfactory level of vigilance with the family, enabling family social life and sharing the responsibilities. These nursing strategies that emerge from obtained consensus provide informational and emotional support and encourage social development and collaboration, thus promoting self-confidence and trust in the nurse. Depending on their nature and the timing of their deployment, nursing strategies facilitate the management of a family routine based on habits of vigilance in cooperation with relevant actors. This study, as well as allowing an in-depth examination of nursing actions, proposes nursing strategies that can be used to enrich the current nursing practice to help families coping with severe life-threatening food allergies at risk for anaphylaxis. Keywords: food allergy, anaphylaxis, partnership, collaboration, family, child, adolescent, parent, nurse, nursing care, intervention, qualitative research.

Full textThis thesis aims at bringing elements for a sociological understanding of autistic children’s eating particularities. The scientific literature remains limited on that subject even though eating particularities and problematic behaviours associated with autism spectrum disorders have consequences on the child’s health and social life, as well as on the family circle’s. Through the analysis of interviews with experts and parents, a quantitative survey, ethnographic observations and published testimonies, this research explores the strains of the building process of alimentary repertories. On a biological and psychological common basis, the autistic deviation from the standard reveals the construction and diversification of eating identities throughout aging and the different contexts in which children evolve. The dissertation shows that some phenomena, often identified as specific of the food socialization in autistic population, are partly due to distortions of the food neophobia construction and its process, so that it is necessary to talk about neophobias in the plural. The eating particularities emphasize the eminently social dimension of children’s eating individualization process. Furthermore their understanding highlights the redefinition of parents’ roles and the social adjustments implemented to cope with them, resulting in a combination of domestic, parental and care strategies. Thus, perturbations linked with autism disorders are the opportunity to study the neophobia process from a new angle and to uncover individual, familial, societal and health stakes implied in children’s food socialisation

Full textToxin-antitoxin (TA) systems are small genetic modules organized in operon and composed of a protein toxin and an antagonistic antitoxin, which can inhibit toxin activity or its expression. TA systems are widespread stress-responsive elements, many of whose cellular functions remain largely unknown. Our work focuses on identifying the cellular targets and discovering the mechanism of nucleotidyltransferase (NTase)-like family TA systems in the human pathogen, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis). In this thesis work, we have investigated the four DUF1814-family NTase-like toxins (MenT1-4) encoded by M. tuberculosis. Toxins MenT1, MenT3 and MenT4 inhibited bacterial growth and were blocked by their cognate antitoxins, MenA1, MenA3, and MenA4. With our collaborators, we have solved the structures of toxins MenT3 and MenT4 to 1.6 Å and 1.2 Å resolution, respectively, and identified the biochemical activity and target of MenT3. MenT3 blocked in vitro protein expression and prevented tRNA charging in vivo. MenT3 added pyrimidines (C or U) to the 3'-CCA acceptor stems of uncharged tRNAs and exhibited strong substrate specificity in vitro, preferentially targeting tRNASer from amongst the 45 M. tuberculosis tRNAs. Thus, the toxin MenT3 could function as a tRNA NTase that blocks translation through a previously undescribed mechanism involving inactivation of serine tRNAs. In conclusion, our work identifies a previously unknown mechanism that expands the range of enzymatic activities employed by bacterial toxins, uncovering a new way to block protein synthesis

Full textRheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease characterized by synovial inflammation that may lead to irreversible joint bone destruction. Synoviocytes play a central role in this cascade of inflammatory signals. Numerous cytokines such as Tumor Necrosis Factor -α (TNF-α), Interleukin 1-β( β-IL-1) or interleukin 6 (IL-6), have proved their efficacy as targets Therapeutic. However some patients are still considered poor responders, which motivates the development of new therapeutic approaches. Interleukin-34 (IL-34) is a novel cytokine involved in macrophage differentiation and osteoclastogenesis. In the first part of this work, we described that IL-34 was expressed in rheumatoid synovitis and synovial fluids of patients and so correlated with synovial inflammation. In the second part of this work we were interested in the interaction between this new cytokine and members of the family of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) with the description of the expression of IL-34, TGF-β1 and Bone morphogenic Protein ( BMP-2) in the synovial fluids of patients and a repressive effect of BMP-2 and TGF-β on IL-34 expression on synovial cells and mesenchymal stem cells. This work identifies IL-34 as a new cytokine involved in synovial inflammation in RA with two potential inhibitors: TGF-β1 and BMP-2

Full textThe Ets proteins belong to a large family of transcription factors, which to date includes more than thirty members involved in many physiological processes, such as differentiation, cellular proliferation, and cancerisation mechanisms. Within this family, we have a particular interest in the functional specificities of the Erg (Ets Related Gene) proteins. We know that these weak transcriptional activators are able to establish a functional cooperation with the Jun/Fos heterodimer and that this synergy requires the formation of an Erg/Jun/Fos/DNA quaternary complex, therefore implying a physical interaction between the DNA binding domain of the Erg proteins and the basic domain of Jun. In this context, we used pbFRET (photobleaching Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) and FLIM (Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy) analyses, and we were able to visualize the physical interaction between Erg and Jun in living cells and to confirm the essential role of tyrosine 371 of the Erg protein in this interaction. This study also allowed us to observe the strict nuclear localisation of the Erg proteins and to show that their co expression with the Jun proteins does not involve delocalisation of one or the other of these transcriptional factors. In the second part of our work, we extended our study to the EWS-Erg fusion protein involved in Ewing's sarcomas. This oncogenic protein results of the fusion of the N-terminal part of the EWS protein with the C-terminal part of the Erg protein further to the t(21; 22) chromosomal translocation. We showed that this protein is able to transactivate and to function in synergy with the Jun/Fos dimer on the Polyomavirus enhancer but it seems to have a repressive activity on the collagenase1 promoter. Thus, the EWS-Erg protein might differently control the target genes of Erg, which could partly explain its oncogenic properties. These results led us to seek, by a differential method, the target genes of the Erg proteins and in particular, to discriminate those controlled or not in synergy with the AP1 complex. A putative target gene, the fibronectin1 gene coding a glycoprotein of the extracellular matrix, proved to be activated by the Erg protein. The whole of this work enabled to better understand the molecular mechanisms with which the Erg proteins exert their physiological functions. Although the latter are not precisely known at the present time, the research of the Erg target genes will certainly allow deepening them in the near future
