A hysteretic model of conventional steel braces consisting of 18 parameters is proposed. This model is able to simulate the hysteretic behavior of conventional steel braces accurately. The collapse-prevention strengthening effect with steel braces for a typical reinforced concrete (RC) frame that was close to the epicenter and collapsed during the Great Wenchuan Earthquake is discussed via push-over analysis and collapse fragility analysis based on incremental dynamic analysis. Abstract Blood sampling typically involves puncturing a superficial vein with a needle and then creating a vacuum (e. g., with a syringe) to transfer the blood from the venous system to the collection container. In some cases, the venous walls collapse due to excessive vacuum generated. In this work, a device is presented that prevents venous collapse and can be combined with any blood collection system available on the market. The mechanism of preventing venous collapse is based on a tubular segment interconnected between the needle and the syringe, which collapses at a lower vacuum pressure

Building of alumnus association was being modeled in two condition, first condition with the walls were being ignored and second condition with brick walls were modeled as a strut force. Modeling brick walls as strut alumnus associat

Background and Aim: The family as an ancient institution has been the focus of many people since the distant past, and many thinkers and researchers have devoted a large part of their studies to the family. The collapse of this institution is a serious threat to the entire social system, and according to this, today, most of the macro-policies in the field of the family are aimed at protecting families from damage and collapse. Therefore, the purpose of the current research is to explain the family breakdown prevention model. Methods: The current research is a qualitative and quantitative rese

The assessment of seismic risk for critical and strategic structures like schools and hospitals remains crucial, even in regions with low seismic activity. Presently, operational school buildings in Sri Lanka are primarily designed to handle gravitational loads without considering capacity-based design principles. Consequently, these structures may lack the necessary lateral resistance to mitigate potential damage or collapse during future earthquakes in Sri Lanka. Hence, conducting seismic risk assessments for such school buildings is imperative to ensure the safety of their occupants. In thi

Reservoir bank collapse results in vegetation destruction on bank, worsens soil - water loss, impacts local economic and environment. Therefore, attention should be attached to research of reservoir bank collapse mechanism and control measures. The impoundment and operation of China Three Gorges (CTG) reservoir largely changes hydrologic and geologic conditions of the reservoir bank, greatly influences the reservoir bank stability. On the base of summarizing the structure types of main bank and slope in the reservoir area, the typical bank collapse mode and mechanism in CTG reservoir area are
