This thesis is concerned with the investigation of two types of eye movements; smooth pursuit, and saccadic eye movement, each of which was analysed under normal condition, and then after the administration of alcohol. Parameters of interest in a selected range were measured using the novel approaches developed in this thesis and the results of a series of different tests compared. Much of the early work done in this area was based on minicomputers. Obviously, a microcomputer based system would be welcome because of costs, and the fact that they are readily available in many hospitals and heal

Abstract:
The presence of millions of interconnected personal computing devices has given rise to a new class of decentralized networking applications, which are loosely labeled as peer-to-peer (P2P) applications. These P2P applications leverage resources such as processing cycles, storage, content, and network bandwidth available to the user devices, which are also known as peers. A number of current systems - SETI@home, Napster, BitTorrent, and Pastry - are examples of these emerging P2P systems. To fully realize the potential of the peer-to-peer technology, there is a need to define and provide a set

Recent research activities focused on improving the steady-state as well as the dynamic behavior of DC-DC converters for proper system performance, by proposing different design methods and control approaches with growing tendency to using digital implementation over analog practices. Because of the rapid advancement in semiconductors and microprocessor industry, digital control grew in popularity among PWM converters and is taking over analog techniques due to availability of fast speed microprocessors, flexibility and immunity to noise and environmental variations. Furthermore, increased int

University of Central Florida College of Engineering Thesis
The rapid advances in electronic imaging, storage, data compression telecommunications, and networking technology have resulted in a vast creation and use of digital videos in many important applications such as digital libraries, distance learning, public information systems, electronic commerce, movie on demand, etc. This brings about the need for management as well as delivery of video data. Organizing and managing video data, however, is much more complex than managing conventional text data due to their semantically rich and u

University of Central Florida College of Engineering Thesis
Of the vast number of algorithms used in modern computer image generation, most rely upon data bases comprised of polygons. This becomes a severe impediment when curved objects must be modeled and displayed with an acceptable level of speed and accuracy. A technique is needed to provide a means of modeling curved surfaces, storing them in a data base, and displaying them using existing algorithms. Tessellation is one methd of achieving such goals.
M.S.
Masters;
College of Engineering
Engineering
Engineering
51 p.<
