Background:ANCA-associated Vasculitis (AAV) is a rare, severe small vessel vasculitis that affects multiple organs with a high acute mortality risk. As every patient presents differently, diagnosis is often delayed. Although treatments exist, responses vary, and remission is often not achieved or sustained. From the time of initial diagnosis onwards, patients suffer from an impaired quality of life. Coping with pain, fatigue, ongoing symptoms and combating challenges becomes a complex task and patients may be challenged in how best to communicate these emotions with health care professionals.

We look at the range of different methods that make up the term ‘workshop’, as well as emergent relationships between facilitator and participant in creative do-it-yourself activities to frame our discussion of participatory music practice. Abstract:
This chapter seeks in the first place to contextualize the theoretical model of the Global North-South divide and the implications it has in terms of the relational structure between countries assigned to each category and as a hegemonic representational practice that reproduces asymmetry and domination. Given this context of interaction, the Co-Creation methodology is proposed as an innovative approach with the aim of constructing alternative representational structures. Taking as a case study the international workshop held at the favela of Santa Marta, Rio de Janeiro, the chapter presents Co-Creation’s basic principles and methodological tools and techniques as a means for building shared meanings and collective knowledge with the main goal of disrupting misperceptions and stereotypes that produce stigma and exclusion of marginalised communities. The chapter examines the roles and identities of participants in this kind of workshop (intervention) and whether or not their methodology empowers local actors or communities in the process of producing shared collective, participatory knowledge.

Abstract:
This chapter focuses on the development of a psychosocial intervention specifically designed to support rural-living elders in Chile to overcome the trauma of an earthquake. The results revealed that the construction of individual and collective narratives of resilience increased older people's awareness of the strengths they have as a community. The memory workshops allowed participants to reflect on and share their previous experiences when confronting past disasters or community crises. Likewise, symbolising their emotions through creating music and collages allowed participants to collectively resignify their fear of the earthquake. In this way, participants transformed the meanings given to the disaster and simultaneously validated their own spontaneous responses to natural disasters or community crises. Both types of interventions, the memory- and arts-based workshops, allowed these communities of older people to search their own individual and community narratives of resilience, which seemed to have a positive impact on how they intended to confront future uncertainty.

Abstract:
The writing produced in workshops explored varied forms of expression including autobiography, short stories, dialect, drama, poetry and novels. Overall there were significant debates about the nature and meaning of working class writing and whether it had any distinctive features. Divisions between forms of writing were actively challenged and new forms of subjectivity and ways of representing experience were developed. However, there were also pressures to write within existing forms. New modes of expression could become tiring after a time when different approaches were required. Overall writing in the Fed was marked by the creative interpretation of experience and vernacular voice. It reveals tensions between bearing witness and creative interpretation and between representing a collective social experience and the individual life story.

Abstract:
For the creation of inclusive design solutions, designers require relevant knowledge about a diversity of users throughout the design process. Besides understanding users’ needs and expectations, the ways in which users perceive and experience the environment contain valuable knowledge for designers. Since users’ perceptions and experiences are mainly tacit by nature, they are much more difficult to communicate and therefore more difficult to externalize. Hence, more insight is needed into the ways designers can build knowledge on Universal Design through direct user contact. In a project called ‘Light up for all’ architecture students are asked to design a light switch and socket, elegant, usable and understandable to the greatest extent possible by everyone. Two workshops with user/experts are organized in the first stages of the design process in which students could gain insight into users’ experiences and perceptions through direct contact. Three data collection techniques are used to analyze the teams’ design processes: (1) a design diary, (2) observations of the workshops and (3) a focus group. By means of analyzing collected qualitative data, we have identified three different design aspects that affect designers’ UD knowledge building process. First, findings give indications on values and limitations of working with selected design artefacts when externalizing users’ experiences. Second, the value of stories clearly affected designers’ deeper understanding about users’ experiences. Finally, results show that in some situations, designers encountered contradictory information between observations and verbal conversations. These insights may help researchers to better understand designers’ process of building knowledge on UD from users’ experiences and perceptions, which may result in better incorporating users’ experiences when designing for everyone.
