Abstract:
AbstractSaudi Arabia- is moving steadily toward Vision 2030. Accordingly, the Educational & Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) has teamed up with the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia to update and raise the ‘Teacher Licensure Programme’ bar.Purpose- The study aimed to investigate the development and implementation of the 2019 teacher licensure program in Saudi Arabia.Methodology- The study adopted the exploratory sequential mixed method. The paper consisted of three stages. Initially, six policies were reviewed to compare international, regional, and local licensures. Second, the study collected quantitative data from 300 teachers from public schools through an online survey. The last stage collected qualitative data through a school leaders’ questionnaire.Findings- Stage one findings were linked to international and regional practices. A comparative study revealed a lack of career development at the college level and during in-service training in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, there is a need for a standardized teacher evaluation system that includes constructive feedback and reflection. Based on stage two findings, teachers expressed negative views regarding the current licensing programme. In addition, stage three findings confirmed stage two results from the perspective of school leaders and policymakers.Implications- Educators should consider building long-life learners by aligning licensing standards with the exam and desired outcomes, ensuring stakeholders’ involvement, create a continuous PD program.Originality/value- This study filled a critical gap in the theoretical field of teacher licensing in the Gulf Region. Additionally, the research suggested a flexible framework based on the best practices and the perceptions and experiences of the stakeholders. The framework asserted that the licensing examination is one of a number of methods for evaluating teachers.

Abstract:
The cost of higher education goes beyond the price of tuition. College students often also face the burden of balancing college, family, and work. Demanding schedules and obligations often lead to putting courses on hold. Additionally, college students can be overwhelmed by course demands and pre-requisite skills that are required. Time is consistently an obstacle in degree completion. Of these struggles that so many face, CLEP exams are a common solution. The College Level Examination Program allows students to essentially test out of college courses and earn college credit, saving time and money. While students must be prepared for these exams, there are convenient ways to options including MOOCs, Khan Academy, and College Board resources.

Abstract:
This chapter discusses dual credit (DC) in its complexity, with a particular focus on how it has unfolded in Texas. It also looks at several other alternatives to Advanced Placement (AP): the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Dual credit has become a sizable part of what many Texas colleges now do—and for many it is now a vital part of their revenue stream. As a result, Texas today has more DC students than any other state, and the number is rising fast. Yet it is struggling to balance that expansion with concerns about consistency and quality across its many providers and instructors. The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships is doing its best to establish quality standards for DC programs and is keen to accredit programs that comply with those standards. As of 2018, 107 programs in twenty-two states were on that list—but none was yet to be found in the Lone Star State. Nothing is simple in the vast and varied state of Texas—and how it handles dual credit in the years ahead will, at minimum, be instructive for forty-nine other states.

Abstract Chapter 5 focuses on Jaden’s life after she leaves care at age 19. This chapter is an in-depth examination of her complicated life, struggles, and experiences with aging out. She got her own subsidized apartment through ASOMO, yet working part-time in entry level jobs she could barely pay the program fee, which is 30% of her income. She had problems with money management and lacked other life skills (i.e., cleaning and cooking). Jaden quit a job and rotated through a series of other low-paying positions. Jaden wanted to go back to community college, but she could not figure out how to get off academic probation. Service providers supported her, but she felt alone and ill-prepared to be on her own.

Abstract:
Higher education has a positive effect on students' and society's human and psychological capital. However, higher education funding is an issue for both students and Government. Qualitative study, using interviews, presents the views of 81 students at a technical vocational tertiary educational institution in Trinidad on the Government Assistance for Tertiary Education. Demographic information indicates that 47 students belonged to nuclear families, 62 students completed the Caribbean Secondary Schools Examination Council (CSEC), and 31 were first generation tertiary level students. Most participants indicated that their mothers were employed in the service industry and most participants indicated “none” for their fathers' occupations. Findings from the data, after coding, were: 1) improvement of human capital- relief from financial burdens, national service, continuation of GATE; 2) betterment of psychological capital- hope/self-improvement, career, and optimism. Recommendations made are for a more expansive study with students currently in the program as well as those who have benefitted from GATE.

In an effort to support public education, the Korean government utilized e-learning and established EBS e-learning system. Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) e-learning is developed especially for high school students who are preparing for the Korean college entrance examination (KSAT). This case study is to introduce EBS e-learning and analyze its merits and weaknesses in order to investigate some meaningful implications for future use of a similar learning system. First, this case study analyzes characteristics of EBS e-learning, secondly, this study identifies its outcomes and issues. Lastly, some implications are presented for further development and more effective use of e-learning system. The outcomes of the case study showed that EBS e-learning system has brought 1) cost reduction on private education on a short-term basis, 2) positive effect on social integrity, 3) a possibility of supporting public education. Some issues identified in this case study are in the following areas: 1) Contents, 2) School use, 3) Learning management and operation strategies, 4) Faculty members, 5) User interface. Lastly, some implications and suggestions are made to ensure the provision of quality programs in the future: 1) it is necessary to reinforce interactive ways of learning, 2) customized education and level-specific learning programs should be developed and provided, 3) it should utilize effective learning management systems, and 4) it needs to provide qualified, specialized learning contents to the learners.
