In Real World Robot Challenge 2013, a mission was added that had robots search for a person wearing clothes featuring unique colors. We focus on the layout of such clothes with the aim of detecting persons wearing them by applying color extraction. Color extraction is improved by preprocessing of a clipping image from the robot’s vision and possibly extracting colors worn by target persons stably in natural light. Persons are detected by simply evaluating the layout of target colors. Our robots were equipped with person detection for this challenge and have detected all targeted persons. This

The computer identification of human faces is a fundamental element of high level human-computer interaction. It must be both accurate and easy to use. In order to realize fully automatic facial image processing and face identification based on 2D intensity images, it is necessary to accurately extract the standard face view from the input face image automatically. If the standard face view is not extracted correctly, identification accuracy remains poor. Therefore, manual extraction of the standard face view is used in most previous facial image processing research.

Abstract:
Fruit constitutes a major component of our diet, providing fiber, vitamins, minerals, and many other phytonutrients that promote good health. Fleshy fruits, such as tomatoes, already contain high levels of several of these ingredients. Nevertheless, efforts have been invested in increasing and diversifying the content of phytonutrients, such as carotenoids and flavonoids, in tomato fruits. Increasing levels of phytonutrients, such as lycopene, is highly justified from the perspective of the lycopene extraction industry due to cost effectiveness reasons. Diversifying phytonutrients, in particul

Abstract:
The current testing environment for food and feed samples is complex and uses a wide variety of analytical technologies that range from chemical to PCR-based. Whilst these approaches can be deemed fit for purpose in terms of their final analytical result, they tend to be highly specialised and require considerable frontend processing to ensure that the target analyte can be reliably detected and quantified. These combined sample processing and analytical requirements typically impact on testing times and have associated cost implications that must be factored into routine testing and monitorin
