Abstract:
A colour may have a different appearance under different viewing conditions. This causes many problems in the colour reproduction industry. Thus the importance of prediction of colour appearance has arisen. In this study, a mathematical model to predict colour appearance was developed based on the investigation of the changes of colour appearance under a wide range of media and viewing conditions. The media studied included large cut-sheet transparency films, 35mm projected slides, reflection samples and monitor colours. The viewing conditions varied were light source, luminance level and view

However, guppies live in a variety of habitats and with a variety of predators and consequently in a variety of selective environments. I investigated how habitat and predator's visual systems affect the evolution of colour. I used regressions to assess the importance of habitat features on the evolution of colour for 29 guppy populations. I then quantified the colour of guppies living in the presence and absence of two predators. T

碩士
國立成功大學
工業設計學系
102
Smart devices are becoming increasingly important these years and human beings spent more and more time on electronic screen. Screen acts as a input and output interface at the same time, use of color on screen become a important topic too. There are two experiments in this study, the first experiment records the reaction time of participants before color adaptation, the second experiment records the reaction time of the same task after color adaptation. Color samples used in this study include three primary colors and three complex colors, size of the stimulus

The study mainly used the basic screen colors such as red, green, cyan and yellow and the Landolt ring system, associated with vision measurement, and formed them into experiment stimulus wit

Abstract:

One of the major goals of evolutionary biology is understanding the process of species formation. There is particular interest in how selection can favor species formation through the process of reinforcement. When two diverging taxa produce maladaptive hybrids, selection will favor greater reproductive isolation between the taxa. Reinforcement often results in a pattern of reproductive character displacement, which is defined as two species having greater reproductive isolation in sympatry then in allopatry.
Examining the genetic basis across repeated origins of the same phenotypic adaptation allows us to address several questions pertaining to the genetic basis of adaptation. First, whether the genes and types of mutations that are involved in adaptation are predictable. Second, whether the underlying genetic changes can constrain future evolutionary trajectories. Here, I have focused on the genetics of blue to red flower color shifts, an adaptive shift that has repeatedly occurred across angiosperms. First, I review the literature and determine the relative contribution of functional vs.

Abstract:
Apis mellifera iberiensis is a honey bee subspecies native to the Iberian Peninsula. Its adaptive potential allows the development of several phenotypes depending on the environment. The aim of this study is to understand to what extent there is local adaptation in this subspecies of Iberian Peninsula, which has proved to be highly diverse and complex at the genetic level. To this end, we established two experimental apiaries at the latitudinal extremes of Portugal (Gimonde, in the Northeast, and Zavial, in the Southwestern). Multiculturalism and the merging of local communities with immigrants demands glocal policies in various sectors—especially in education. In order to successfully integrate immigrants, language acquisition is oftentimes the first initiative educators and politicians regard as one of the most essential attributes for successful and prompt integration. However, language acquisition cannot be separated from the need to bridge communities and their different values, tradition, ideologies, and identities based on their cultural heritages and religious affiliations.
