Two deep blue-emitting dendrimers 11 and 12 with carbazole containing dendrons were developed in this contribution. The carbazole-containing units were introduced to tune the charge-transporting property of the desired dendrimers. The investigation of photophysical properties, electrochemical, and electroluminescence properties demonstrated that the balance between electron and hole transporting was achieved from both dendrimers. The preliminary organic light-emitting diode (OLED) fabrication achieved a pure blue colour with stable CIE chromaticity coordinates (X: 0.15–0.16, Y: 0.09–0.10) for

A novel deep-blue fluorescent emitter was designed and synthesized. The external quantum efficiency (ηEQE) of the blue-emitting, doped, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) was as high as 4.34%. The device also exhibited an excellent color purity with Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of x = 0.15 and y = 0.05. In addition, the triplet energy had a value of 2.7 eV, which is rare for an emitter with deep-blue emission, which makes it a preferred choice for high-performance white OLEDs. By optimizing the device architectures, the color of hybrid-white OLEDs could be tunabl

In this study, white organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) consisting of red quantum dots (RQD) and green quantum dots (GQD) were investigated. These are the most exciting new lighting technologies that have grown rapidly in recent years. The white OLED development processes used consisted of the following methods: (a) fabrication of a blue single-emitting layer OLED, (b) nanoimprinting into QD photoresists, and (c) green and red QD photoresists as color conversion layers (CCL) excited by blue OLEDs. To fabricate the blue OLED, the HATCN/TAPC pair was selected for the hole injection/transport

Blue emissions in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are essential for their application in solid-state lighting and full-colour flat panel displays. On the other hand, high-power blue emitters are still uncommon, especially those that can achieve the Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE, X, Y) coordinates of (0.14, 0.08) in the National Television System Committee (NTSC) blue standard and have high external quantum efficiencies (EQE) of more than 5% because their molecular design presents an enormous challenge. The employment of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters is one of the most promising ways to realize the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of over 25% for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). In addition, the TADF emitter based on oxygen-bridged boron (BO) fragment can maintain blue emission with high color purity. Herein, we constructed two blue TADF emitters, 3TBO and 5TBO, for OLEDs application. Both emitters consist of three donors linked at the oxygen-bridged boron acceptor. The voltage values used in an IV measurement often depend on the specific electronic components being tested. For example, to test a solar cell, voltage values in the range of -3 V - 3 V are sufficient, while for an LED this value is in the range of 0 V - 12 V. However, sometimes applying a voltage can change the electronic properties of a system under test. For example, the voltage applied to a diode changes the capacitive values of the diode. Therefore, the parameters of the tested system should not change the current-voltage values of the testing system during the test. In this study, a sof

In our study chromatic discrimination thresholds of normal colour observers measured with the Trivector test of the Cambridge Colour Test were analysed. Chromaticity coordinates were transformed from the CIE (1976) u’v’ diagram to the CAM02-UCS and CAM16-UCS colour spaces, where colour differences were calculated. The measured data consisted of chromatic discrimination thresholds measured in 66 reference points covering the gamut of a CRT display. This paper presents methods for the characterization of monochrome or colour imaging sensors using multiple narrowband colour LED as radiance sources and optimization algorithms in order to estimate their spectral responsivity. This method can be used in cases where a monochromator setup is not available or a fast estimate is needed. In addition, XYZ coordinates for various radiance sources are estimated using the camera counts from the three colour channels (RGB). For this purpose, various linear and non-linear models of RGB values are tested. The RGB models are trained using different groups

In the fields of photometry and radiometry, spectral measurements play a crucial role in determining various parameters. The photometric parameters like total luminous flux, colour coordinates, etc. are attained by integrating spectral quantities. The integrated quantity uncertainty analyses can be complex for the calculation by GUM approach. Uncertainty analysis including the correlations effect can be done by Monte Carlo simulation. This study shows both approaches, i.e. with and without correlations, for the uncertainty analysis of the flux of a horticultural LED.
