Abstract:
The present study aimed to analyze the characteristics of close quarter combat with rifle and to analyze the most effective rifle fencing techniques used in combat. Fourteen professional soldiers were analyzed in 24 random combats with a rifle replica. Results showed that direct attack was the most used technique, the combat action more executed was the attack and the body area most impacted was the trunk. It has also been proved that combat rifle is a maneuver that takes place in a short time, most of the combats being developed in durations less than 20s. This data could help improve current

AbstractThis article examines recent steps taken by Australia and France to combat illegal fishing in their claimed maritime zones of jurisdiction around their adjacent sub-Antarctic island territories. These steps comprise operational responses and legal developments, including the conclusion of two bilateral treaties on cooperative surveillance and enforcement. Geographical and legal problems associated with addressing the illegal fishing threat in the Southern Ocean are highlighted. It is concluded that when they come to be tested by international legal authorities, some of the more innovat

Mobile ad hoc networks use the wireless network and have wider applications especially in emergency situation, military combat zones, and the mobility vehicles. The mobile ad hoc network especially poses the problem of security and efficiency as the network is often subject to internal and external attacks. To overcome such problems, different protocols are proposed. In this study, an improved protocol is proposed which makes use of hexacol cluster method and thus provide greater efficiency and security to the network. For validating the proposed method, a stimulation was performed and results

Statistical data pertaining to road accidents were collected from, Sri Lanka Police Traffic Division and were statistically analyzed to identify the social impact. Results revealed that peak level of road accidents is observed at 14.00 -20.00h (38.2%)[1] and intencity of micro-sleepiness falls at the same time period (37.36%) while14.00 to 16.00h is the peak time,16.00 to 18.00h is the least; again 18.00 to 20.00h it reappears slightly

From 1991 onward, the European Union (EU) member states have had to comply with the Nitrates Directive. The aim of this directive is to sustainably protect ground and surface waters from pollution with nitrogen (nitrate) originating from agriculture. Agriculture is, on an EU level, the largest single source of nitrate (runoff, leaching) pollution, although households and industries also contribute to some extent. An important element in the directive is the reporting every 4 years on the monitoring of ground- and surface-water quality. Furthermore, all 15 member states are compelled to designa

China launched the Three-North Shelterbelt Forest Program (TNSFP) in 1978 in northern China to combat desertification and dust storms, but it is still controversial in ecologically fragile arid and semi-arid areas, which is partly due to the uncertainties of monitoring of the spatial-temporal changes of forest distribution. In this study, we aim to provide an overall retrospect of the forest changes (i.e., forest gain and forest loss) in northern China during 2007–2017, and to analyze the forest changes in different precipitation zones. Such injuries may remain undiscovered during psychiatric screening for posttraumatic stress disorder. What is often missing, however, is a conceptualization of the part of the self which is implicitly related to emotional wounds caused by moral and spiritual injuries. Local journalists can also confront grave danger, but unlike foreign correspondents, they work and live in dangerous places. They too have rates of PTSD and depression that well exceed that seen in the general population. Local journalists whose families are targeted are particularly vulnerable in this regard.
