Abstract Rhinocerebral mycosis is an invasive fungal infection which occurs primarily in the paranasal sinuses and progresses to involve the brain and/or the orbit. It is commonly seen in immunocompromised individuals and can be most effectively treated if diagnosed early, when it is limited to the nasal cavity and the paranasal sinuses. Even though it is acceptable that surgical debridement in combination with antifungal therapy can lead to high rate of cure, the surgical approach for intracranial extension is still a subject of debate. Twenty-four cases of rhinocerebral mycosis managed at ou

Abstract:
Esophageal cancer is a deadly disease. Only one third of patients with localized disease experience long-term survival. Over the past 20 years, investigators have evaluated neoadjuvant strategies to improve the outcomes of surgical management. Chemotherapy and radiation have been evaluated individually and in combination for preoperative management of patients with localized esophageal cancer. This article provides a critical review of the data on multimodality approaches to the management of esophageal cancer.

Diffuse optical tomography (DOT) is a recently emerging technique that uses arrays of sources and detectors to obtain spatially dependent optical parameters of tissue. DOT techniques have been applied for a wide range of applications, especially for breast and head as well as animal imaging. We have developed an integrated dynamic MR/DOT imaging system. This combined system can acquire MR and optical data simultaneously with a high temporal resolution. Hence, the enhancement kinetics of multiple MR and optical contrast agents can be monitored independently.
