Full textThe presented Ph. D. Thesis proposes a practical arithmetic to calculate fuzzy intervals and quantities. The latter are modelled by an accumulative distribution function based on classical statistics instead of classical membership functions. This innovative work effectively deals with imprecise data and uncertainties by exploiting some ideas in the direction described above. Existing methods found in the specialized literature are not disregarded, though this thesis intends to present another way of reasoning and solving certain problems with a simpler implementation. Since the proposed method is close to probability and classical statistics, it has lead –at a first stage-to stressing the analysis of imprecise data as well as to extend the statistical tools. Nevertheless, a complete and coherent arithmetic based on fuzzy logic techniques and interval analysis has been proposed. A number of illustrative examples have been presented through this work to facilitate the understanding of our approach. The thesis’ objective is to show the feasibility and applicability of our claims. Results obtained in applications, both on the analysis of objective-subjective data and on the internal nonlinear model control (with special emphasis on a real-time application for a non-linear imprecise system) have proved the effectiveness of j-calculus. Other mathematical developments and extensions to other areas suggest that interesting perspectives in the future will arrive

Full textThe subject of this PhD thesis is the interpretation of structured documents, such as musical scores, electrical sketches, etc. , drawn with a pen on a sensitive surface. We exploit on-the-fly interpretation of hand-drawn strokes, i. E. Progressively, as they are added to the document, and provide a visual feedback to the user. We present the DALI method. Its first concept is a new class of visual grammars: its permits to model structured documents and the relative positioning of the symbols it contains. Le second concept is the hand-drawn stroke parser associated to these grammars. It exploits the formalized knowledge and the interaction with the user to make the most sensible decision. The result of these works have been used to design the Script&Go “Electrical Sketches” application which is already commercialized and used daily by a hundred of technicians

Full textThis work deals with multicells converters control. This new static power converter structure appeared at the end of the 90's and has many interesting advantages for high voltage energy conversion. But the perfect dynamic control of the internal variables is an important objective for industrials applications. The first part of this work will be devoted to the study of the multicell structure, with its high interest in energy conversion. An average state space model of the system is given. Different classical non linear control lows are presented in the second part, in order to fit some specific dynamic requirements, very particular to this type of power converter. Thus two methods based on the input / output linearization and on the Lyapunov functions are implemented and tested. Moreover, an original estimator for the different voltages is proposed. In the third part, two differents types of Fuzzy Control of multicells converter are proposed. The first one is based on the average model and leads to classical structure and performances. The second allows the control of the converter through phase shifts variations between the differents trigger signals, but requires a fuzzy inversion of the harmonic model. Simulations results are provided for all the differents control laws on 3 or 4 cells converters. Most of them were implemented and tested through experiments

Full textDC-DC power converters are electronic systems characterized by cyclic switching of circuit topologies. Despite their simple schemes, these converters exhibit a variety of non linear bahaviors. This makes it difficult to analyse the system and predict its behavior. To study these behaviors, discrete modeling techniques use hypothesis and constraints on the system operating or control modes to simplify the modelling task. In this thesis, some enhancements of the discrete modelling approach are proposed to alleviate these constraints and to better describe these behaviors without any simplifying assumption. Controllers developed for a converter are generally based on its mathematical model. Therefore, the large variation of the converter parameters can affect the control performances. In the case of fuzzy logic controllers, control parameters can vary according to the system parameters variation. Therefore, we proposed a systematic approach for synthesizing a fuzzy logic controller, in order to suppress the abnormal phenomena exhibited by the converter and to uphold the regulation performances in a wide range of the system parameters variation

Full textThe works presented in this dissertation are intended to maintain a control loop performance when the system to be controlled is linear and time-varying parameters. To do this, we suggest a discrete predictive control under inequality constraints, state modelbased, indirect adaptive which supervisor uses fuzzy logic. The parameters adjustment of the internal model is based on the recursive least-squares method. The intrinsic parameters adaptation of predictive controller (horizons of prediction, control and weighting of the control signal) is performed by the fuzzy logic supervisor on the basis of desired and real performances. Thus the analysis of control loops formed has established conditions of stability bounded input - bounded output. Finally the Hessian’s conditioning has been improved by introducing a dynamic exponential weighting in the cost function of predictive control. The proposed strategy has been applied in simulation to control different systems

Full textThis thesis aims to develop a family of adaptive robust sliding modes for a large class of non-linear uncertain and disturbed. Two control laws were developed. In the first, the model system has been reformed such that all the unknown dynamics are combined in one function and then use a single approximation. In this context, fuzzy wavelet networks were first used thanks to their rapid convergence but they don’t give good results in the presence of uncertain linguistic information. To resolve this, a fuzzy system of type-2 was used. To ensure robustness against external disturbances, uncertainty and approximation errors, the sliding mode has been proposed. To reduce the stresses at the start of the signal, a non-linear was introduced. The control law is built to ensure the robustness and overall stability of the closed system in addition to it’s capacity of eliminating the phenomenon of chattering in the case of classical sliding mode. However, the choice of the gains of the sliding surface becomes complicated for systems of order greater than 2. To overcome this problem, a new control law using sliding mode has been proposed. The main advantage of this approach is that the sliding surface has been modified so that the approach has been removed which makes the system more robust and increases its speed of convergence to the reference signal. .

Full textMan spends most of his time in buildings. Wether it is his home or o±ce, comfort is the growing concern of designers and buildings managers. The application of Fuzzy logic to global control of active components to building can cope with the whole occupants's needs and necessities. The purpose of our work consists in simplifying setting procedures of fuzzy controllers used during winter time in building o±ces. The global performance of a fuzzy controller architecture is developped in association with an on-line parameter setting method. Its performances are compared with other regulation strategies ("On-O® controller, PI, Open-loop) or method for setting parameters (Genetic Algorithm). The Numeric and experimental results show that setting procedures, wether manual or automatic, can adapt to the gestion of comfort in o±ces and classrooms. Every constraint assigned (comfort, precision and stability) could be honored in each case. We drew a parallel between the di®erent strategies tested and our online setting procedure showed a increased comfort for the occupier, as well as a reduction of energy needs

Full textThis document is divided in two main parts, a theoric one, which was developped in the LAMIH, and an application, in collaboration with the INRIA, Rocquencourt. As concern the theoric part, the non linear systems are represented by T-S fuzzy models. The stability analysis is based on the Lyapunov functions. By using quadratic Lyapunov functions, some new control laws perform the results find in the litterature, concerning the classical CDF (Compensation and Division for Fuzzy models) control law and concerning the robust PDC (Parallel Distributed Compensation)control law, based on uncertain T-S models. We give some results to obtain a fuzzy observer in the case of the premisses are non measurables. The results are either directly or by using some relaxations, in a LMI (Linear Matrix Inequalities) form and are solved efficiently. The application is based on the inverted pendulum principle and is a two wheeled vehicle named B2. Its goal is to reduce the problems due to the vehicles in the center of the towns. A T-S fuzzy model has been developped from the prototype parameters. Some robust PDC control laws, with and without observers were realised. A fuzzy observer helps to reject the perturbations. A comparison with a linear law and some robustness tests were presented. The results are good, the B2 is stabilised and the speed follows the state point given by a joystick

Full textThis work concerns the definition of fuzzy systems and the synthesis of fuzzy controllers. The introduced matrix notation unifies in the same formalism, in order to facilitate its computer's implementation, all the stages to design fuzzy system. A systematic and rigorous study of standard fuzzy PID led us to propose two new architectures of fuzzy regulators : Fuzzy-PI, and Fuzzy-PID which present an excellent dynamic behaviour. Tuning parameters is the principal difficulty encountered during fuzzy PID implementation. Basic knowledge of controlled system, and the use of methodology we have defined to synthesis fuzzy regulators allows to autotune the proposed fuzzy regulators. All the developed tools, associated to a fuzzy estimator, are applied in the Fuzzy Vectorial Control by Indirect Rotor Flux Orientation of asynchronous machine. The results obtained show the interest of our approach

Full textLes commandes multialgorithmiques concernent la combinaison de deux modèles de la vitesse angulaire statorique pour orienter le flux dans la machine et la combinaison de deux modèles du courant magnétisant pour estimer l'amplitude du flux. La combinaison de deux estimateurs de flux, l'un déterminé à partir des équations rotoriques de la machine, l'autre déterminé à partir des équations statoriques et la détermination des gains d'un observateur de flux d'ordre réduit ou d'ordre complet au moyen de la logique floue sont également étudiées. Pour chaque stratégie, l'étude de sensibilité est dans un premier temps validée par des essais experimentaux sur un banc équipé du système Matlab-Simulink-dSPACE (basé sur un DSP TMS320C31), en considérant les variations du courant statorique consommé comme indicateur de la qualité du contrôle du flux. Deux des stratégies de commande étudiées sont ensuite utilisées dans deux applications différentes, l'une concerne la traction électrique, l'autre la génération d'énergie par éoliennes

La présentation se décompose en cinq chapitres.
Le premier chapitre donne un état de l'art concernant la modélisation orientée
«contrôle» et la commande du circuit d'admission d'air-essence. La problématique de
l'estimation et de la commande du couple moteur est également traitée.
Dans le deuxième chapitre, les modèles mis en oeuvre dans la suite du mémoire, et
l'identification de leurs paramètres sont présentés. Les modèles moyens qui sont décrits
permettent de faire un compromis entre complexité du modèle et adéquation aux synthèses des
lois de commande proposées. Le couple moteur n'étant pas mesuré sur un véhicule de série, son
estimation fait l'objet de la fin de ce chapitre.
Le troisième chapitre propose l'utilisation des modèles flous de type Takagi-Sugeno
(TS) pour réaliser le contrôle de différentes variables. Après un rapide rappel de ce type de
modèle, son application à la commande en couple, puis au problème de la richesse (rapport
air/essence à la stoechiométrie près) sont abordés.
Le quatrième chapitre correspond à un certains nombres d'essais réels qui ont été
réalisés sur le banc moteur. En particulier, ces essais ont permis de valider des lois de
commande présentées dans le chapitre précédent sur la commande du circuit d'air et du couple
moteur. Le dernier chapitre présente quelques perspectives à ce travail.

Full textThe purpose of this thesis was to contribution to dynamic identification and control of BC21 Clextral extruder. This work is divided into two parts: dynamic identification and control. The first part describes the development and evaluation of identification methods for extruder. Dynamic models (Transfer function, ARMAX, ANFIS) were developed using two excitation methods and corn starch and wheat flour as raw material. The first excitation method consists to subject the process to a step change and a pseudo-random binary sequence in manipulated variable and measure the open loop response of measured variables. The second excitation method consists to use a relay feedback for providing input excitation in closed loop. The motor torque and screw speed was a pairing of measured and manipulated variables. The second and final part of this thesis relates to the automatic control of start-up procedure and product quality (example: rate of encapsulation of an active ingredient). A fuzzy control system is proposed to improve the start-up procedure. Afterwards, dynamic models of extruder were used to evaluate two control strategies for regulating the product quality. The first uses a traditional indirect approach whereby the die pressure and motor torque are controlled by two single loop PID controllers, using the screw speed and the water injection rate as manipulated variables. The second approach uses only the screw speed in model-based predictive strategy to control the product quality directly. The performance of each controller is assessed by simulating disturbances to the process. Both controllers perform well at controlling their specified output variables

Full textMost physical systems are subject to control constraints. Indeed, these constraints can lead to the degradation of performances and even instability of closed-loop systems. In this context, the main objective of this thesis is to develop adaptive fuzzy control laws for nonlinear systems in the presence of saturation constraints and applying them to the diesel engine system. The objective is to control the three actuators of the air loop of the diesel engine, namely: the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), the Variable Geometry Turbine (VGT) and the Throttle. The idea is to track a given reference signals which are chosen in order to optimize the pollutant emissions and the fuel consumption. In this thesis, two models have been adopted, a model with two inputs and two outputs in which the Throttle is assumed to be totally opened and a three input three output model. These models describe the significant parameters of the system, such that: the pressure of the intake manifold, the pressure of the exhaust manifold and the compressor power. The proposed algorithms are validated by simulation and using the AMESim simulator
