Abstract:
The article presents the results of the analysis of Vilnius district commercial-industrial zones. The criteria of analysis are: geographic location, plots and/or groups of plots in the area, operating and planning activities of companies as well as the infrastructure and transport communications development at the engineering level. A theoretical model for investment strategy selection is introduced to identify the possibilities of investment attractiveness. The principle of the investment option with the system of characterizing indicators for development is offered to reflect the lack of cohesion between practical investment promotion and sustainable development of the territories’ indicators.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate how supply and demand interact during industrial emergence. Design/methodology/approach – The paper builds on previous theorising about co-evolutionary dynamics, exploring the interaction between supply and demand in a study of the industrial emergence of the commercial inkjet cluster in Cambridge, UK. Data are collected through 13 interviews with professionals working in the industry. Findings – The paper shows that as new industries emerge, asynchronies between technology supply and market demand create opportunities for entrepreneurial activity. In attempting to match innovative technologies to particular applications, entrepreneurs adapt to the system conditions and shape the environment to their own advantage. Firms that successfully operate in emerging industries demonstrate the functionality of new technologies, reducing uncertainty and increasing customer receptiveness. Research limitations/implications – The research is geographically bounded to the Cambridge commercial inkjet cluster. Further studies could consider commercial inkjet from a global perspective or test the applicability of the findings in other industries. Practical implications – Technology-based firms are often innovating during periods of industrial emergence. The insights developed in this paper help such firms recognise the emerging context in which they operate and the challenges that need to overcome. Originality/value – As an in depth study of a single industry, this research responds to calls for studies into industrial emergence, providing insights into how supply and demand interact during this phase of the industry lifecycle.

Abstract:
High thermal and thermooxidation stability of homo and copolymers of diphenyldiacetylene and p-diethynylbenzene was established. The amount of coke residue, obtained from commercial epoxy-resins, is essentially increased upon their modification with added polymers. Additions of polydiethynylbenzene to commercial olygoetheracrylates improved their thermooxidation stability.

Full text
Abstract:
Fluoropolymers have had a profound effect on all aspects of industry since their discovery during the 1930s. This review briefly describes the historical development of the fluoropolymer industry, with a focus on traditional fluoroplastics, and lists the major industrial and commercial materials currently in use. These include polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), the ethylene copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), the ethylene copolymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE), perfluoroalkoxy (PFA), polyvinylfluoride (PVF), polyvinyldifluoride (PVDF), Nafion, fluoroethylenevinylether (FEVE), a semicrystalline three component terpolymer of tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, and vinylidene fluoride (THV), Teflon-AF, Cytop, and Hyflon. The production, processing, and properties of these fluoropolymers are discussed, together with examples of the specific uses in chemical industry, manufacturing, electronics, architecture, energy, health and domestic sectors. Other related fluoropolymers such as fluoroelastomers, perfluoropolyethers, and fluorosurfactants are briefly mentioned. Environmental aspects of fluoropolymers are considered as is the current state of the fluoropolymer industry.

Full text
Abstract:
Fluidized bed combustion (FBC) in various forms has been used to burn all types of coal, coal waste and a wide variety of other fuels, either singly or cofired with coal. FBC boilers are currently available commercially in the capacity range from 1 MWth to over 250 MWe and continue to be adopted for a variety of commercial, industrial and power generation applications. There are two main derivatives of FBC, namely bubbling fluidized bed combustion (BFBC) and circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC). There are also several hybrid systems and pressurized versions of both BFBC and CFBC. The status of these different systems, with some now fully commercial and some still under development, is described, with projections made for future development requirements and market opportunities.

Abstract:
The article proposes the methods to construct the commercial age of enterprises in eco-industrial parks by taking the concept of commercial age as a starting point. With Xishan Eco-industrial Park as an example, it also carries out an empirical study by selecting three enterprises from each of the three representative industries. The research results show that the enterprise age as a representative indicator reflects the characteristics of the development of eco-industrial parks and the changes of the eco-industrial structures. In this way, it will provide theoretical and practical guidance for reasonable construction of commercial age structure while maintaining the industry chain of eco-industrial park and the industrial ecosystem stability.

Abstract:
It has become a truism that the introduction of modern technology requires new skills from both management and workforce. Yet recent reports confirm that the supply of trained manpower is failing to match present and future demand. Government action may be required, but more important is the need to promote greater liaison between higher education and industry, and to move - at craft and technician level - to a standard of training already being achieved by our competitors overseas. To accomplish these objectives requires a change in our attitude to education and training.
