Abstract:
Coal-bed methane (CBM) is clean energy which owns currently the best prospects for development, its efficient development is conducive to the safety production of the coal industry. Commingling can effectively reduce the development costs of coal-bed methane, while improving the methane production. Aiming at the actual geological conditions in Qinduan block, using numerical simulation technology, establish the ideal model based on the actual geological data to make feasibility study of commingling respectively from the permeability and the initial reservoir pressure. The results show that, under the condition of reasonable control production system, the target block can be commingling.

Abstract:
Fibers made of elements such as carbon, aramid and glass have higher mechanical properties than other conventional textile fibers and they enable the production of light weight composites as end products. Furthermore, commingling hybrid yarns generally have a characteristic feature so that their components are distributed homogeneously enough over the yarn cross section. A normal air texturerising machine was modified to produce commingling hybrid yarns for test samples. Different process parameters were applied to produce the hybridized yarn samples. However, these process parameters turned out to have little effect on the filament distribution over the hybrid yarn cross section in terms of homogeneity. The analysis in this paper is focused on the pattern of mixing of filaments over a cross section of hybrid yarns according to different combinations of reinforcement and matrix filament yarns through microscopic view. The volume content of filament in hybrid yarn cross section was maintained at 50% for both reinforced and matrix, and the hybrid yarns count at 600 tex throughout experiments. It was concluded from the experiments that the diameters of reinforcement and matrix filaments have strong effects on the pattern of mixing of filaments over a cross section of hybrid yarns such that the hybrid yarns with more or less equal diameters of reinforcement and matrix filaments showed considerably even distributions over the hybrid yarn cross section.

AbstractBovine respiratory disease (BRD) involves interactions between respiratory pathogens and stressors. Marketing beef cattle in North America frequently involves commingling of cattle from different backgrounds along with various stressors. Veterinarians are faced with unique challenges when designing preventive health care protocols. Research at Oklahoma State University has generated information to assist the practitioner to make more informed recommendations regarding the value of a single vaccination or revaccination in high-risk cattle, and the benefits of management programs at the farm or ranch of origins, particularly in regard to the impact of commingling of cattle from different origins.

A unique melt spinning equipment for E-glass is compatibly combined with a melt spinning extruder to manufacture commingled yarns. The in-situ commingling enables to combine homogeneously both glass and polypropylene filament arrays in one processing step and without fibre damage compared to commingling by air texturing. Best composite performance is achieved with a sizing for glass fibres consisting of aminosilane and maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene film former, which enable a good strand integrity with the polypropylene yarn. The results of fundamental research on variation of technological processing conditions like diameter ratios, draw ratios, variation of cooling conditions and arrangements of intermingling are reported for glass fibre/polypropylene systems.

Abstract:
Abstract In many countries, the labeling of grains, feed, and foodstuff is mandatory if the genetically modified (GM) organism content exceeds a certain level of approved GM varieties. We previously developed an individual kernel detection system consisting of grinding individual kernels, DNA extraction from the individually ground kernels, GM detection using multiplex real-time PCR, and GM event detection using multiplex qualitative PCR to analyze the precise commingling level and varieties of GM maize in real sample grains. We performed the interlaboratory study of the DNA extraction with multiple ground samples, multiplex real-time PCR detection, and multiplex qualitative PCR detection to evaluate its applicability, practicality, and ruggedness for the individual kernel detection system of GM maize. DNA extraction with multiple ground samples, multiplex real-time PCR, and multiplex qualitative PCR were evaluated by five laboratories in Japan, and all results from these laboratories were consistent with the expected results in terms of the commingling level and event analysis. Thus, the DNA extraction with multiple ground samples, multiplex real-time PCR, and multiplex qualitative PCR for the individual kernel detection system is applicable and practicable in a laboratory to regulate the commingling level of GM maize grain for GM samples, including stacked GM maize.

Abstract:
Abstract Platelet TS PST basal activity and thermal stability were measured in blood samples from 237 individuals in 50 nuclear families. Significant correlations were found among first degree relatives, confirming the previously reported familial aggregation of TS PST basal activity and thermal stability. Commingling analysis of basal TS PST activity provided evidence for multiple component distributions, and after transformation to remove skewness, segregation analysis supported a major gene hypothesis. For TS PST thermal stability, commingling analysis also provided evidence for multiple component distributions. However, segregation analyses were equivocal with regard to the presence of a major gene for thermal stability, since support for a major gene model depended on skewness. Bivariate commingling analysis, which examined thermal stability by simultaneously considering basal activity and activity after heating, suggested that genotypes, as defined by the inferred component distributions for TS PST activity, differ in thermal stability. A three-allele model is proposed as one hypothesis that may account for the combined results of basal activity and thermal stability. The results of this study indicate that a major gene polymorphism in conjunction with polygenic inheritance plays an important role in the regulation of both level of activity and thermal stability of this important drug-metabolizing enzyme in humans.

Banded gas reservoir with bottom water is a typical gas reservoir. Based on the development characteristics of formation, the further study on commingling production by transverse horizontal well is done, and also combined with seepage theory including the Green function, Duhamel method etc. the dimensionless definitions of relative parameter are given. Whats more, the derivation and formula of production can be achieved respectively under the constant pressure condition and constant production condition. Meanwhile, take commingling production with three banded gas layers for example. Whether the initial pseudo pressure for these layers are equal or not, in both of these cases, the variation curve of gas productivity under the constant pressure and constant rate conditions is described separately. And the law of variation of gas flow backward for some layer when the physical properties of these layers are significantly different.

Abstract:
This paper is concerned the breaking elongation properties of Carbon/Aramid-, Carbon/Glass- and Aramid/Glass- matrix hybridized commingling yarns. The hybrid yarns produced by commingling process were investigated in terms of breaking elongation property. In experiments, carbon (CF), aramid (AF), and glass (GF) filament yarns were combined. In this study, selected matrix materials include Polyether-ether-Keeton (PEEK), and polyester (PES), or polypropylene (PP). The volume content of filament in hybrid yarn cross section was maintained at 50% for both reinforced and matrix, ant hybrid yarns count at 600 tex, respectively. The reinforcement to matrix filament combination was selected as 1:1 proportion. The effect of different air pressures and material combinations was investigated in terms of breaking elongation. In experiments, each type of hybrid yarn sample has been tested 20 times at the testing speed of 10mm/min. under 3 bar of yarn clamping pressure. Since breaking elongation is one of most important properties in textile fiber, it was examined closely with reference to the first breaking point of commingling-hybrid yarns. It was concluded from experiments that hybrid yarns with higher breaking elongation and higher tensile strength tend to show better force-elongation relationship. It was also known from experiments that the combination of two reinforcement filament yarns gives always much better results than a single reinforcement filament yarns in terms of elongation property. GF/AF/matrix is shown very much better elongation properties. PP and PES gives higher elongation than PEEK as a matrix material.

Abstract:
Abstract This study evaluated the impact of commingling two sources of cattle on productivity during the feedlot phase of production. Angus crossbred steers (n = 96), similar in genetic composition and age, from two research stations (n = 48 McG and n = 48 BCS) were transported (833.64 ± 85.29 km) to a feedlot 39-d prior to study commencement. Steers were blocked by source and stratified by d -34 body weight (BW) before being randomly assigned to one of 12 pens (n = 8 steers/pen) for the 42-d study. Pens were assigned to one of two treatments (n = 6 pens/treatment): 1) NOMIX—100% of cattle from either McG (n = 3 pens) or 100% of cattle from BCS (n = 3 pens) and, 2) MIX—50% of cattle from BCS and 50% from McG (n = 6 pens). Body weight was collected on d0, on d24, and at the end of the study on d42. Orthogonal contrasts analyzed effects of commingling (NOMIX vs. MIX) and source (BCS vs. McG) on dry matter intake (DMI), average daily gain (ADG), and gain to feed (G:F). Linear mixed models (PROC MIXED) evaluated impact of source × treatment on ADG. No effects of commingling (P > 0.05) or source (P > 0.05) were detected on DMI (MIX 8.25, BCS 8.70, McG 8.14 kg/steer/day), ADG (MIX: 1.48, BCS: 1.67, McG: 1.59 kg/steer), and G:F (MIX: 0.18, BCS: 0.19, McG: 0.19). There was no effect of source × treatment on ADG (P > 0.05); however, McG-MIX had the smallest ADG (1.42 kg/steer) compared to BCS-MIX, BCS-NOMIX, and McG-MIX (1.61, 1.59, and 1.60 kg/steer, respectively). Source and mixing treatment did not statistically impact productivity or efficiency, however, mixed cattle were numerically less productive than non-mixed cattle, and the impact of mixing on productivity may vary by source.

Abstract:
SUMMARYAlthough cattle movement and commingling play an important role in the inter-herd transmission of pathogens, little is known about the effect of commingling of heifers at raising operations. The objective of this study was to compare the resistance ofE. coliand prevalence ofSalmonellafrom pooled faecal pats of heifers raised off-farm at multi-source raisers (MULTI) that raised heifers from at least two farms compared with on-farm raisers (HOME), with heifers from only that farm. MULTI faecal pat samples were collected from pens with animals that had arrived at the farm within the previous 2 months (AP) and from animals that would be departing the heifer raiser in 2–3 months (DP). Corresponding age sampling was conducted at HOME raisers. Odds of ampicillin resistance were 3·0 times greater inE. colicollected from MULTI compared to HOME raisers.E. colifrom AP pens had significantly (P< 0·05) higher odds of resistance to ampicillin, neomycin, streptomycin, and tetracycline compared to DP pens.Salmonellarecovery was not significantly different between heifer-raising systems (P= 0·3). Heifer-raising system did not have a major overall impact on selection of resistantE. coli, which was strongly affected by the age of the animals sampled.

Abstract:
Textile-Reinforced Concrete (TRC) is a new construction material and has been used in civil engineering applications such as façade systems, sandwich panel and outside furniture during the past several decades. Generally in TRC, glass, carbon filaments, etc. are used to reinforce concrete because these high-performance filaments have superior mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Coating of these filaments with different polymers provide extra performance for TRC’s durability. But, because of coating materials’ cost and stiffness, using of coating for TRC is not so advantageous. For these reasons, new approaches are needed. In this study, a new hybrid yarn design and production for TRC are emphasized. AR-Glass and polypropylene filament were used for production of hybrid yarn by commingling method. It was aimed to optimize the parameters of commingling yarn production with Taguchi orthogonal design. The experiments were performed by using L9 orthogonal matrix with respect to Taguchi approach. The best strength value in the study was obtained in production parameters where the machine production speed is 50 m / min, the air pressure is 6 bar and the feeding amount is 2%. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and signal/noise ratio were used to evaluate the experiment results. As a result of the analysis, it has been observed that the machine production speed has the greatest effect on the breaking strength and the feed amount has the lowest effect.

Abstract:
Water invasion is a common occurrence in multilayer unconsolidated gas reservoirs, which results in excessive water production and reduces the economic life of gas wells. However, due to multiple layers, active edge water, and strong heterogeneity, the mechanism of water invasion and its effect in the unconsolidated sandstone gas reservoir require understanding in order to improve efficiency and minimize economic cost. In this study, an experimental study on edge water invasion of the multilayer commingled production in unconsolidated sandstone gas reservoirs was conducted to understand the water invasion process along with different permeability layers. The results show that the edge water invasion in the commingling production is mainly affected by two major factors including reservoir permeability and gas production rate, which jointly control the encroaching water advance path and speed. The nonuniform invade of edge water may occur easily and water prefers to invade toward the gas well along with high permeability layers when the commingling production is in the condition of large permeability gradient and high production rate. The bypass flow will occur when there are high permeability channels between the layers, which causes water blocking to low-permeability layers and periphery reservoirs far away from gas wells. The findings of this study can help for a better understanding of water invasion and the effects of reservoir properties so as to optimize extraction conditions and predict gas productivity in unconsolidated sandstone gas reservoirs.

Abstract:
As a result of normalization of Sino-Japanese relations in 1972, Japan cut off its diplomatic ties with the Republic of China (Taiwan). What followed was nearly two decades of diplomatic tepidity between Tokyo and Taipei. Since the 1990s, however, Japan and Taiwan have been rapidly approaching each other again. This commingling process, which has elevated their relations to an ““unofficial-in-name-only”” status, is the result of three mutually reinforcing factors: re-imagination of colonial ties, sharing of a democratic identity, and the permeating of popular culture.

Abstract:
Of all the revolutions that took place during the annus mirabilis 1989, only the Romanian one was violent. The paper explores the sources of the Romanian different path, the extraordinary vitality of the authoritarian mentalities and practices in that country, the commingling of Leninist and Byzantine traditions in a uniquely cynical and manipulative formation. This may explain why, despite the ostensible radicalism and strong-worded, overblown rhetoric of the revolutionary paragons, the Leninist heritage in Romania has turned out to be more persistent and resilient than in other countries.
