Abstract:
We describe two protocols for efficient data transmission using a single passive bus. Different types of interactions are obtained enabling the deterministic transfer and teleportation of composite quantum systems for arbitrary subsystem dimension and for arbitrary numbers of subsystems. The subsystems may become entangled in the transmission in which case the protocols can serve generalized teleportation based information processing as well as storage and transmission functions. We explore the cases of two qubits and two qutrits in detail, obtaining a maximally entangling mapping of the composite systems and discuss the use of a continuous variable bus.

Abstract:
The limitation of battery capacity is a cause of range anxiety that reduces the wide use of electric bicycles (e-bikes). Therefore, many works have developed systems that provide assistance to cyclists to deal with the range anxiety problem. However, these systems may have limited applications since they can only work with the e-bike manufacturers’ hardware and communication protocols. This paper proposes an energy monitoring system (EMS) for e-bikes, which is based on EnergyBus, a standardized hardware and communication protocol for e-bikes. EnergyBus standard is based on controller area network (CAN) bus and CANopen protocols. EMS comprises a gateway connected to EnergyBus of e-bike and an EMS application installed on a smart device that connects to the gateway via Bluetooth. The gateway provides CAN bus monitoring and CANopen device data access services to the smart device. These services are modeled to determine gateway parameters to ensure the efficient performance of the gateway and to keep the working status of the monitored e-bike safe. The EMS application provides the cyclist information about battery status, rider efforts, and other related information such as distance and speed. Experimental results show that the proposed gateway can monitor data in real-time and ensure monitored system safety.

Abstract:
Due to advances in fiber-optics and VLSI technology, interconnection networks which allow multiple simultaneous broadcasts are becoming feasible. This paper examines the performance of distributed-shared-memory (DSM) systems based on the Simultaneous Optical Multiprocessor Exchange Bus (SOME-Bus) using queuing network models and develops theoretical results which predict processor utilization, message latency and other useful measures. It also presents simulation results which compare the performance of the SOME-Bus, the mesh and the torus using queuing-network models. The SOME-Bus is a low-latency, high-bandwidth, fiber-optic interconnection network which directly links arbitrary pairs of processor nodes without contention, and can efficiently interconnect over one hundred nodes. It contains a dedicated channel for the data output of each node, eliminating the need for global arbitration and providing bandwidth that scales directly with the number of nodes in the system. Each of the N nodes has an array of receivers, with one receiver dedicated to each node output channel. No node is ever blocked from transmitting by another transmitter or due to contention for shared switching logic. The entire N-receiver array can be integrated on a single chip at a comparatively minor cost resulting in o(N) complexity. The SOME-Bus has much more functionality than a crossbar by supporting multiple simultaneous broadcasts of messages, allowing cache consistency protocols to complete much faster. The effect of collective communications due to cache coherence is examined. Results reveal that the performance of the SOME-Bus interconnection network is the least affected by large communication times, compared to the other two architectures considered here. Even in the presence of intense coherence traffic, processor utilization and message latency is much less affected than in the other architectures.

Abstract:
Protection relays design and manufacture have arrived to a new level of advancement; hence, numerical relays have appeared recently. They combine all the functions of monitoring, control, and protection in one device. Also these relays have the ability to communicate with each other to share statuses and orders using GOOSE (generic object‐oriented substation events) messages based on communication protocols such as IEC61850. In this paper, a proposed method for overcurrent (OC) relay coordination has been introduced based on numerical relay features of several setting groups and communication capability. This work supposes that the coordination between feeder, bus section, and incomer protection relays, in a substation of single busbar configuration with bus sectionalizer (i.e., bus section), depends on the status of the bus section circuit breaker (CB) as a criterion for determining active relay setting group, to achieve a faster tripping action. ETAP has been used as a simulation software environment. And the simulation results show the advantages of the proposed method in reducing the time needed by the relay to clear the electrical fault. Siemens SIPROTEC series have been used as an example of numerical relays, specifically 7SJ64 as OC relay, which exists in the ETAP library.

Abstract:
In a microgrid, with several distributed generators (DGs), energy storage units and loads, one of the most important considerations is the control of power converters. These converters implement interfaces between the DGs and the microgrid bus. In order to achieve higher functionality, efficiency and reliability, in addition to improving the control algorithms it is beneficial to equip the inverters with “smart” features. One interpretation of “smartness” refers to minimizing the requirement of communication and therefore switching from centralized to decentralized control. At the same time, being equipped with efficient and state of the art communication protocols also indicates “smartness” since the requirement of communication cannot be completely omitted. A “smart inverter” should offer some features such as plug and play, self-awareness, adaptability, autonomy and cooperativeness. These features are introduced and comprehensively explained in this article. One contribution discussed here is the possibility of achieving long-range wireless communication between inverters to empower various control schemes. Although current efforts aim to modify and improve power converters in a way that they can operate communication free, if a suitable and functional communication protocol is available, it will improve the accuracy, speed and robustness of them.

Unlike traditional DMA method, utilizing a novel designed mechanism, Multi-thread Chain DMA transfer method transmits and receives data concurrently, achieves SuperSpeed data rate and guarantees no data loss. Furthermore, one communication protocol for SuperSpeed video transmission is designed and implemented to comply with USB Video Class (UVC) standard. The field trial has demonstrated Multi-thread Chain DMA transfer method and SuperSpeed video communication protocol in the article are feasible and rich in value of research.

It is designed to take advantage of intelligent instrumentation equipped with microprocessors to communicate between the field and the control room. Because it can communicate large quantities of data from the field devices, industrial networks tying together field bus instruments open the way for complex control and automation tasks. As field bus evolves, some think that computer networking will play an increasingly important role and improve the performance in the plant. Both Profibus and Fieldbus Foundation provide for Ethernet capability. Wireless communication is also likely to play a potential role in field bus systems. There is a potential for wireless in data acquisition. Issues still needed to be worked out: electrical storms can interfere with communications and wires must be strung to power the devices.

Abstract:
The diffusion of connected devices in modern vehicles involves a lack in security of the in-vehicle communication networks such as the controller area network (CAN) bus. The CAN bus protocol does not provide security systems to counter cyber and physical attacks. Thus, an intrusion-detection system to identify attacks and anomalies on the CAN bus is desirable. In the present work, we propose a distance-based intrusion-detection network aimed at identifying attack messages injected on a CAN bus using a Kohonen self-organizing map (SOM) network. It is a power classifier that can be trained both as supervised and unsupervised learning. SOM found broad application in security issues, but was never performed on in-vehicle communication networks. We performed two approaches, first using a supervised X–Y fused Kohonen network (XYF) and then combining the XYF network with a K-means clustering algorithm (XYF–K) in order to improve the efficiency of the network. The models were tested on an open source dataset concerning data messages sent on a CAN bus 2.0B and containing large traffic volume with a low number of features and more than 2000 different attack types, sent totally at random. Despite the complex structure of the CAN bus dataset, the proposed architectures showed a high performance in the accuracy of the detection of attack messages.

This paper present a high-speed reconfigurable serial fieldbus (HRSFB) used for industry communication with baud rate up to 10Mbps and reliable communication. We developed this fieldbus based on UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) and practice it on FPGA. By using hardware programming on FPGA, we can get the high speed and make the bus reconfigurable easily. This fieldbus system includes one main node and up to 255 sub nodes, and all the nodes can automatically identified and configured at the beginning of the system which makes the field bus system shrink or expand easily. Also hardware CRC technology and ask/answer mode are used in the communication protocol to guarantee the security of the communication. Abstract:
The message routing in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) is an attractive and promising area for research. These networks do not have a central coordination, the nodes are mobile, and the topology is highly dynamic, making the routing process a big challenge, since it is responsible for ensuring message delivery with small overhead and delay. In the literature, there are several routing protocols that can be used in VANETs; in this way, the main objective of this work is to classify, discuss, and compare such protocols through a review of research in this field. The protocol classification is based on the following criteria: type of architecture and mode of operation. Moreover, this work emphasizes the potential of the application of bioinspired and bus-based techniques in the routing problem solutions, which has been revealed as a main tendency nowadays. Bioinspired routing protocols are based on the behavior of entities in the nature, and they are meant to work in a distributed mode, using mobile agents to find routes with specific features. In a parallel line of research, the differentiated behavior of urban transport vehicles suggests that a system that makes use of buses to create a communication infrastructure can perform better when compared to a system that does not distinguish between vehicles.

Abstract:
With the application of digital information technology and communication technology, industrial intelligence and integration also began to develop rapidly, and the importance of the research on bus communication in industrial control communication also increased. As the first international bus standard, PROFIBUS has been widely used in the field of industrial control; in recent years, it was mainly used to connect devices to the control layer and convert data through token transmission. Based on the understanding of the transmission mechanism of PROFIBUS fieldbus protocol, this article carries out a simulation study on its communication performance. Through analysis of the data link layer, changing the target token cycle time (high and low priority) and random setting each site message number, as well as the number of master station and slave station, how the main token latency and packet loss rate and efficiency of bus affect the change of performance parameters was observed. For multiple communication systems, the relationship between the address value on the main token ring and transport performance is found by experiments on the site address value on the main token ring and the target token cycle time value. Finally, the scheduling algorithm is applied to the communication scheduling of PROFIBUS fieldbus. The results confirm that the scheduling algorithm has better transmission efficiency than the traditional MAC media access protocol under the condition that the load rate does not exceed 100%, which makes up for the shortcomings of the original PROFIBUS bus system and makes the communication performance better.
