The objective of this study is elucidating the dynamic relations and interaction among actors under the authoritative organization in Tuban district. This article employed qualitative method which uses literatures, documentations, observations, and in-dept interviews. The latest method relies on eleven central informants that represent company, country, and society who have relation with CSR Communication Forum in Tuban. Th result shows that the main actor who initiate the emergence of CSR Communication Forum is country, thus affect the nature of institution which more instructive (top-down) and state-centric. The local government is dominating the forum and other actors use the local regulation to produce dependency of company to country. In addition, shifting of power from regulation based to interest based create institution dilemma, institution disorientation and competition of resources among actors. Although using CSR governance, the political dynamics and institution development have not achieved its optimum result.

Abstract:
The Science of Communicating Science by Dr. Craig Cormick is a lively introduction to the foundational principles of science communications, particularly those oriented towards the public. Dr. Craig Cormick is a well-known science communicator and former president of the Australian Science Communicators, a network of science communicators and journalists. Cormick has also written over 30 books of fiction and non-fiction---in addition to academic articles---and has worked with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), which incidentally also published his textbook. The Science of Communicating Science operates on the premise that science communication is a complex process requiring extensive and time-consuming interdisciplinary research. Cormick's textbook aims to simplify the learning process by distilling well over 400 sources into a compact volume so that novice science communicators may learn important skills for informing and empowering the public by telling engaging stories, fostering interdisciplinary skills, and understanding the audience.

Abstract: This study uses a type of library research (Library Research), namely by reading works related to the issues to be studied. The author will examine the principle of communication in the perspective of the Qur'an in terms of the elements of communication using the "(contenst analysis)" method (content analysis). The method "(contenst analysis)" is to analyze the principle of communication in the perspective of the Qur'an which is viewed from the elements of communication. The principle of communication in the Alquran describes that Qaulan Maysuran (words that are easy and proper), emphasize more on ethics and the message conveyed by communicators to communicants. A communicator in communication is required to be able to adjust himself to the state of the communicant and communicator must be able to convey a message that can be understood by the communicant, so that the communicant understands the message conveyed, namely an easy and appropriate message. Qaulan Ma'rufan (good words) emphasizes the ethics of communicators in conveying messages to communicants, so that communicants understand and do not have negative thoughts the message conveyed by communicators. Qaulan balighan (effective words), emphasizes the message conveyed by communicators. Because in this context a communicator communicates with a hard-hearted communicant or who is difficult to understand from the message conveyed or also the hypocritical communicant. Here a communicator must be able to convey a message that imprints on the heart of the communicant and advice that can make the heart of the communicant hard can soften, the message conveyed can also make a good effect of the communication process that occurs Keywords: Communication principles, communication elements

Abstract:
Several experiments show that there is a cell to cell communicaton by light in different cell types. The most convincing experiment shows that baby hamster kidney cells can communicate their spatial orientation through a glass film, this can only happen by photon signals. If so, it can be assumed that the cells with the highest differentiation, the neurons also use this mechanism. The nervous system would have excellent conditions for a cell to cell communication by light. Neurons are large, metabolically very active (lightproducing) cells with wide arborisation, contain little pigment and are protected from ambient light by bone and connective tissue. Signal to noise ratio should be high for photon signals. It has been shown that light can be propagated along the axis tracts. Also the hollow microtubules (neurofibrillae) could act as light guiding structures. According to Jibu et al. their inner diameter of 15 nm is ideal for light guidance free of thermal noise and loss. Other findings that may be of importance in this context, are the strong flurescence properties of the major hallucinogens: LSD, bufetonine, dimethyl-tryptamine, psilocybine, psilocin, iboguanin, harmine, cannabidinol and mescaline. Furthermore it has been shown that hallucinogenic properties of these substances have a direct correlation to their fluorescence properties and their readyness to donate electrons. As hypothesis we propose that the fluorescence interacts physically with the proposed Biophoton mediated cell to cell communication thus producing hallucinations. This would be an easy and plausible explanation for the strong hallucinogenic properties of these fluorescent substances.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to compare “how we see ourselves” vs “how others see us” when communicating corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in US pharmaceutical companies. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected as follows: CSR reports from the companies themselves and Business Press reports from the Lexis-Nexis database. NVivo content analysis was used to compare CSR communication by companies and the Business Press. This analysis was comprised of almost 10 million words. Comparisons of Carroll’s framework, including the economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic categories between CSR reports and the Business Press, were done. Additional analysis was done to discern individual, organizational, and societal patterns of communications. Return on assets was computed for companies that have formal CSR reports and those that do not. Findings The analysis of documents containing almost 10 million words allowed the following conclusions: companies communicate more about their economic and philanthropic activities, and the Business Press communicates more about their legal and ethical activities. The companies and the Business Press communicated similarly about individual CSR. The organization communicated more about organizational topics, and the Business Press communicated less about societal topics. Originality/value This paper makes both substantive and methodological contributions. Its substantive contribution allows an understanding of what pharmaceutical companies need to do to fully communicate their CSR activities. Its methodological contribution is in suggesting that content analysis be used in understanding communication patterns. A levels of analysis approach allowed the discernment of individual-oriented, organizational, and societal-oriented communication patterns.

Abstract:
This study examined the influences of perceived distance to communicator on the effects of aggressive style (i.e. personal attacks and intense languages) in communicating scientific issues such as COVID-19 to the public. With a multi-site experiment ( N = 464), we found that aggression led to a heightened violation of expected social norm regarding communication styles. However, the interpretation of violation varied depending on the individual’s perceived distance to the communicator. Close distance articulated the urgency and severity of COVID-19 risks conveyed with aggression, which further increased compliance with the message. Far distance perception amplified aggression’s negative influence on writer likeability. The findings showed that aggressive communication may generate positive outcomes when dealing with public understanding of scientific issues such as COVID-19, but communicators need to build a closer connection with their audience.

The communication media as a work of human beings reason from time to time has a very rapidly progress together with the growth and the development of new innovations in the world of the digital technology. This progress is a certainty that must be received by the human beings who are in a strong mind and conscience awareness that communication media is so sophisticated but remains as a means of the development of the human beings civilization. This awareness gradually can be expected to encourage human beings in order to place themselves appropriately as the subject of the development of the communication media itself through a rational and an accurate filtering process against negative influences that can threaten with human beings civilization. One of the institutions is threatened with the negative influences of the communicaton media is family. At first the family gets a respected position as a socialization agent about the values of life is now experiencing decline of function as well as its role because the majority of the family members are now snared because of the negative influences of the communication media. The sympathetic as well as the empathetic atmosphere are used to be the first decoration in the house and now is just becoming a nice memory but sadden. The fascination is too axtreme makes each of the family member of the communication media and finally appear some attitudes as well as behaviours that don,t go with the values of solidarity and the family as well. At last, this problem lets grow as well as develop without striving for preventive and curative of the various social elements. Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of social status of the communicator on communication predispositions of people with different cultural orientations. Based upon independent and interdependent self-construals as individual-level cultural dimensions, people’s degrees of two distinct communication orientations (communication apprehension as an avoidance orientation and argumentativeness as an approach orientation) were assessed in a dyad with different status of communicators (professor as high status and classmate as low status). Participants were a total of 702 undergraduates studying in Japan, Hawaii, and the mainland U.S. After reading two hypothetical conversational situations with different status communicators (professor and classmate), participants were asked to rate items measuring two communication constructs (communication apprehension and argumentativeness). The data indicated that individuals showed greater level of argumentativeness in the conversation with a low status communicator (classmate or roommate) than in the conversation with a high status communicator (professor). On the other hand, individuals showed greater level of communication apprehension in the conversation with high status communicator (professor) than in the conversation with low status communicator (classmate or roommate). We also found that, among people of high interdependence, the level of CA was greater in the conversation with the high status communicator than in the conversation with the low status communicator. On the other hand, among people of high interdependence, the level of argumentativeness did not differ in the conversation with the high status communicator as compared with the conversation with the low status communicator.

Abstract:
Successful collaboration often relies on individuals' capacity to communicate with each other. Despite extensive research on chimpanzee communication, there is little evidence that chimpanzees are capable, without extensive human training, of regulating collaborative activities via communication. This study investigated whether pairs of chimpanzees were capable of communicating to ensure coordination during collaborative problem-solving. The chimpanzee pairs needed two tools to extract fruits from an apparatus. The communicator in each pair could see the location of the tools (hidden in one of two boxes), whereas only the recipient could open the boxes. The subjects were first successfully tested for their capacity to understand the pointing gestures of a human who indicated the location of the tools. In a subsequent conspecifics test, the communicator increasingly communicated the tools’ location, by approaching the baited box and giving the key needed to open it to the recipients. The recipient used these signals and obtained the tools, transferring one of the tools to the communicator so that the pair could collaborate in obtaining the fruits. The study suggests that chimpanzees have the necessary socio-cognitive skills to naturally develop a simple communicative strategy to ensure coordination in a collaborative task.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction COVID-19 Trauma Guidance suggests opportunities for structured, time-limited discussions about challenging experiences should be offered. It is unknown if such discussions can be effectively delivered online by palliative care specialists to support care home (CH) staff in relation to death/dying. Funded by Scotland’s Chief Scientist Office COVID-19 “rapid research” fund, online OSCaRS is being piloted. Methods Fortnightly OSCaRS delivered to small groups of CH staff via a secure online platform in three local CHs over 10 weeks. Sessions are digitally recorded. The shortened version of the Chesney coping self-efficacy questionnaire is completed by all staff pre/post. Additional post-study questions asked of OSCaRS participants and in-depth staff interviews will be undertaken (n = 10). Thematic analysis of the recorded sessions and interviews will be undertaken and related to the staff questionnaire and context of each CH. Results New learning on the feasibility and acceptability of providing OSCaRS to frontline staff. The benefit of OSCaRS to CH staff coping mechanisms, team cohesion and communicaton with relatives during the COVID-19 pandemic will be presented. Initial results show that OSCaRS are feasible, valued by all care home staff and support staff in coping with the challenges of COVID-19/. Key Conclusions The analysis will inform future practice, and an Implementation Guide for OSCaRS in CHs will be produced. Key learning on the potential for online support in relation to death/dying during the pandemic and beyond will contribute to future education, training and staff wellbeing resources. It will also inform the role of such sessions in developing individual coping mechanisms and team working alongside communication with relatives during lockdown.

Coronary heart patients are very strong subjects in the research of verbal interaction profiles. Because a lot of verbal interactions must be understood by patients as communicators. Simple communication theory to find this interaction has several elements, namely Communicator, Message (Message), Channel, Communicative, and Feed back. This type of research uses qualitative descriptive methods including observations in the location of the safira panjen Malang Main clinic, in-depth interviews with coronary heart patients who were included in the informant's criteria as a sample, namely Mr. Suryadi who had long been treated as a coronary heart disease patient, as the primary informant , and supporting informants namely the closest person and specialist doctor and then data analysis. The results of this study can be concluded 1.) the profile of verbal interaction of coronary heart patients in communicating has Determinism the use of verbalization generally has conditions directed to meet the desired goals of coronary heart patients (communicators) in expressing messages in the form of language, symbols, chennel in the form of senses and HP in communicating, Feed Back with communicants, this leads to healing, and verbal interactions of a coronary heart patient (communicator) experience repeated conditions with the assumption that using Indonesian or Javanese language kromo inggil, Channel, Feed back given by communicant in this is like; family environment, workplace and physician at the same time) in Communicating Coronary Jatung Patients who finally get the full understanding and comfort and discomfort to influence their health condition, 2.) Abstract:
Uncertainty is inherent to our knowledge about the state of the world yet often not communicated alongside scientific facts and numbers. In the “posttruth” era where facts are increasingly contested, a common assumption is that communicating uncertainty will reduce public trust. However, a lack of systematic research makes it difficult to evaluate such claims. We conducted five experiments—including one preregistered replication with a national sample and one field experiment on theBBC Newswebsite (totaln= 5,780)—to examine whether communicating epistemic uncertainty about facts across different topics (e.g., global warming, immigration), formats (verbal vs. numeric), and magnitudes (high vs. low) influences public trust. Results show that whereas people do perceive greater uncertainty when it is communicated, we observed only a small decrease in trust in numbers and trustworthiness of the source, and mostly for verbal uncertainty communication. These results could help reassure all communicators of facts and science that they can be more open and transparent about the limits of human knowledge.

Abstract:
Communication is a very important thing in everyday life. Through communication, there is an interaction between communicator and communicant with the aim of achieving an equation. The communication process can be interpreted as an activity of 'transfer information' or message from the sender of the message as a communicator and to the recipient as a communicant. In the communication process aims to achieve mutual understanding between the two parties involved in the communication process. In the process of communication, the communicator sends messages or information to the communicant as the target of communication. In the communication process, it must work as its function. No exception to Islamic communication. The functions of Islamic communication are very important to be implemented so that communication is carried out not only as a process but communicators and communicants can get a good impact. Islamic communication functions are discussed in several parts, namely: information functions, convincing functions, reminding functions, motivating functions, social functions, guidance functions, satisfaction functions, spiritual, and entertainment functions. In the digital era with the rapid development of media, the function is easily applied because it follows the convenience given to communicators and communicants. But there needs to be limitations that must be made so that the functions of Islamic communication that are applied are able to bring benefits to themselves and society in general and avoid things that are not in accordance with the values of religion and culture adopted.

Abstract:
The Water Environment Federation's elaborate effort to rename sewage sludge as “biosolids” is an example in practice of the “propaganda model” of communications, which sees its task as indoctrinating target audiences with ideas favorable to the interests of the communicators. The propaganda model assumes that members of the public are irrational and focuses therefore on symbolic and emotional aspects of communication. This approach to communicating arouses public resentment rather than trust. In place of a “propaganda model,” public officials should adopt a “democratic model,” which assumes that audiences are rational and intellectually capable of meaningful participation in decision-making.

Abstract:

The present study investigated the effects of communication styles, source expertise, and audiences’ preexisting attitudes in the contexts of the debate regarding genetically modified organisms. A between-subject experiment ( N = 416) was conducted manipulating communication styles (aggressive vs. polite) and the expertise of the communicator (scientist vs. nonscientist) in blog articles. The results showed significant effects of communicator expertise and individuals’ preexisting attitudes on writer likability and message quality, depending on the communication style used. Expectancy violation was found as a significant mediator that explains the differences. These findings provided a plausible explanation for the way in which communication styles work in science communication contexts and offered practical implications for science communicators to communicate more strategically.

Abstract:
A communication process can be considered success when the communicant receives and understand the message as what the communicators meant. This effective communication will result in the achievement of a communication goal. However, the effective communication might be difficult to happen when both interlocutors do not have the same native language. It happens because the language barriers may influence the process of understanding the message while the communication happens. To overcome the problem, the communicator applies some communication strategies. This comparative study used observations and interviews to examine the communication strategies used by first- and third-year English students of Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia during spoken interactions in English with exchange students from Cheng Du Textile College China. The objective of this study is to observe how the first- and third- year study overcome their communication problem while talking with non-English native speaker students and use the data as inputs to develop the next curriculum. The writer uses Tarone’s communicative strategies to identify the students’ strategies. The result shows that ‘Literal Translation’ is not used by English students while communicating with exchange students, ‘Circumlocution’ and ‘Message Abandonment’ are only used by third year students, ‘Appeal for Assistance’ and ‘Topic Avoidance’ are only used by first year students, third year students’ most used strategies are ‘Mime’ and ‘Word Coinage’, and first year students’ most used strategies are ‘Approximation’ and ‘Mime’.

Human-robot interaction requires communication, however what form this communication should take to facilitate effective team performance is still undetermined. One notion is that effective human-agent communications can be achieved by combining transparent information-sharing techniques with specific communication patterns. This study examines how transparency and a robot’s communication patterns interact to affect human performance in a human-robot teaming task. Participants’ performance in a target identification task was affected by the robot’s communication pattern. Participants missed identifying more targets when they worked with a bidirectionally communicating robot than when they were working with a unidirectionally communicating one. Furthermore, working with a bidirectionally communicating robot led to fewer correct identifications than working with a unidirectionally communicating robot, but only when the robot provided less transparency information. The implications these findings have for future robot interface designs are discussed.

This article discusses communication strategies for community empowerment carried out by universities. In an effort to achieve optimal targets, the role of effective communication is very pivotal. In this case, the right empowerment communication strategy is to place communicators as motivators, dynamists, innovators, and facilitators for social change. In this regard, students, lecturers, or companion teams as communicators must be on a par with the community. It means that communicator and audience, expert and user, and sender and receiver interchange roles in a mutually beneficial two-way interaction through which qualified social empowerment can be reached. The communicator functions as a driving force for the community to be able to realise their potential independently in order to become more empowered. This communication strategy is appropriate for the bottom-up intervention model of community empowerment; self-help and togetherness model, integrative-interconnected model, and asset based community-driven development.

Abstract:
Research and practice on augmentative communication for persons with moderate or severe mental retardation have primarily targeted the acquisition and use of single symbols. Symbol combinations, however, provide insight into how augmented communicators use individual symbols to build more complex communications. In Study 1, untaught symbol combinations produced during natural communication interactions by 7 subjects with mental retardation were examined for their semantic, ordering, and generalization patterns. The symbol combinations largely resembled those produced by young speaking language learners, suggesting that the augmented communicators were following typical patterns of communication in generating their symbol combinations. In Study 2, we examined the symbol combinations modeled for subjects by their partners. The structure of the modeled combinations did not resemble the children’s productions, indicating that the children could not have relied on simple rote imitation for their combination production. These results suggest that augmented communicators with mental retardation may use their symbols as speaking children use oral words in the development of complex communications.

Abstract Objective: Recent advancements in neurotization and nerve grafting procedures have led to an increasing need for knowledge of the detailed anatomy of communicating branches between peripheral nerves. Although the surgical anatomy of the axilla has been well described, little is known regarding the degree or frequency of potential contributions to or communications with the brachial plexus. The aim of our study, therefore, was to explore extrathoracic, as well as potential intrathoracic, contributions to the brachial plexus from T2. Methods: The anatomy of the ventral primary ramus of T2 and the second intercostal nerve, including its lateral cutaneous contribution as the intercostobrachial nerve, was examined in 75 adult human cadavers (150 axillae), with particular emphasis on the communications with the brachial plexus. Results: Extrathoracically, communications were observed to occur in 86% of specimens. These contributions arose variably from either the intercostobrachial nerve or one of its branches and communicated with the medial cord (35.6%), medial ante-brachial cutaneous nerve (25.5%), or posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve (24%). Whereas the majority of specimens (68.2%) were observed to have only one extratho-racic communication, 31.7% of specimens exhibited two. Intrathoracically, communications were observed to occur in 17.3% of specimens. These communications always arose from the ventral primary ramus of T2. When combining and comparing data within individual specimens, it was observed that those axillae without an extratho-racic contribution from the intercostobrachial nerve always contained an intrathoracic communication. Conclusion: Based on our findings, we conclude that 100% of specimens contained a communication branch between T2 and the brachial plexus. Considering the possible implications of this data, with regards to sensory innervation of the arm and axilla, further studies in this area of research could prove extremely beneficial.

Communication between the West and the Middle East has at times been tenuous, disjointed, and ineffective. Due to the ever-increasing global market, it has become essential that American technical communicators cross these geographic, cultural, and language barriers to bridge this historical communication gap. Business with Saudi Arabia particularly has prompted American technical communicators to delve into all cultural and language dynamics of an Arab audience. In essence, the technical communicator must comprehend the impact of Islamic doctrine on the Arab business person; identify the philosophical, religious, historical, and social dynamics of the English/Arab communication process; recognize the fundamental differences between the English language and the Arabic language; and, after assessing the Arab audience and language level, implement the most effective communication strategies for effective communication with a high-context society such as Saudi Arabia.
