Abstract:
In the monograph reviewed the development of the inventory management of railway transport in the new economic environment of market economy. According to the results of theoretical research, innovative and production potential of the supply system of railway transport the main directions and methods of transformation of the restructuring process under the corporate changes of JSC "RZD", positioned value system of the logistics of railway transportation, and developed a classification model used logistical resources. Evaluation of activity of structural divisions of Russian Railways supply is proposed to be viewed through an integrated and comprehensive approach to the development of systems of balanced indicators of supply and prompt handling of material resources, the implementation of which allows to distribute the strategic objectives of the company "Russian Railways" activities in the system of logistics of the Railways and also to involve in economic circulation of excessive and unused inventories of material and technical resources and efficiently reallocate them among enterprises at the site of the railway. Recommendations for the implementation of the developed algorithms and models are long term in nature and are based on the concept of logistics management and improve the business processes of the logistics system. Will be useful for managers and specialists of directorates of logistics of Russian Railways supply, undergraduates and graduate students interested in the economy of railway transport.

Martin, Paul, Theodore Alter, Don Hine, and Tanya Howard, eds. Community-based Control of Invasive Species. CSIRO Publishing, 2019. http://dx.doi.org/10.1071/9781486308880.

Abstract:
Invasive species are among the greatest challenges to environmental sustainability and agricultural productivity in the world. One of the most promising approaches to managing invasive species is voluntary citizen stewardship. However, in order for control measures to be effective, private citizens often need to make sustained and sometimes burdensome commitments. Community-Based Control of Invasive Species is based on five years of research by leading scholars in natural resource and human behavioural sciences, which involved government and citizen groups in Australia and the United States. It examines questions including, 'how can citizens be engaged in voluntarily managing invasive species?', 'what communication strategies will ensure good motivation and coordination?' and 'how can governing bodies support citizens in their efforts?'. With chapters on institutional frameworks, changing governance, systems thinking, organisational learning, engagement, communication and behavioural change, this book will be a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners involved in natural resources management.

Abstract:
This book intends to familiarise prospective users in the environmental community with satellite remote sensing technology and its applications, introducing terminology and principles behind satellite remote sensing data and analyses. It provides a detailed overview of the possible applications of satellite data in natural resource management, demonstrating how ecological knowledge and satellite-based information can be effectively combined to address a wide array of current natural resource management needs. Topics considered include the use of satellite data to monitor the various dimensions of biodiversity; the use of this technology to track pressures on biodiversity such as invasive species, pollution, and illegal fishing; the utility of satellite remote sensing to inform the management of protected areas, translocation, and habitat restoration; and the contribution of satellite remote sensing towards the monitoring of ecosystem services and wellbeing. The intended audience is ecologists and environmental scientists; the book is targeted as a handbook and is therefore also suitable for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students in the biological and ecological sciences, as well as policy makers and specialists in the fields of conservation biology, biodiversity monitoring, and natural resource management. The book assumes no prior technical knowledge of satellite remote sensing systems and products. It is written so as to generate interest in the ecological, environmental management, and remote sensing communities, highlighting issues associated with the emergence of truly synergistic approaches between these disciplines.
