Abstract:
This paper presents a methodological scheme to obtain the maximum benefit in occupational health by attending to psychosocial risk factors in a company. This scheme is based on selecting an optimal subset of psychosocial risk factors, considering the departments’ budget in a company as problem constraints. This methodology can be summarized in three steps: First, psychosocial risk factors in the company are identified and weighted, applying several instruments recommended by business regulations. Next, a mathematical model is built using the identified psychosocial risk factors information and the company budget for risk factors attention. This model represents the psychosocial risk optimization problem as a Multidimensional Knapsack Problem (MKP). Finally, since Multidimensional Knapsack Problem is NP-hard, one simulated annealing algorithm is applied to find a near-optimal subset of factors maximizing the psychosocial risk care level. This subset is according to the budgets assigned for each of the company’s departments. The proposed methodology is detailed using a case of study, and thirty instances of the Multidimensional Knapsack Problem are tested, and the results are interpreted under psychosocial risk problems to evaluate the simulated annealing algorithm’s performance (efficiency and efficacy) in solving these optimization problems. This evaluation shows that the proposed methodology can be used for the attention of psychosocial risk factors in real companies’ cases.

Abstract:
PT. MKP currently processes silica sand manually using PTO pipes and screening units. This method yields a silica (SiO₂) content of 97.48%. However, market demand—particularly from the glass industry—requires the company to supply silica sand with a minimum SiO₂ content of 99.2%, along with higher production capacity. To meet these quality and quantity specifications, PT. MKP plans to implement a mechanical processing method using a screw machine, which is expected to improve both the silica grade and the overall processing efficiency. From the results of the study on the use of 1 kg of initial raw-mat samples, with the use of a screw machine was able to produce a higher SiO₂ content with a value of 99.75% compared to the old method which only produced a content of 97,48%, thus indicating that the screw machine is way more effective in the washing process, especially in removing fine impurities compared to the previous method, then seen from the value of the silica process efficiency analysis, it produces a value of 72.58% with the use of a screw machine compared to the manual method which only produces a value of 4,09% it shows that the screw machine has an efficiency of increasing content almost twice as much as the manual method. With an input of 10 DT vessels (120 tons of raw material) with a cycle time of only 1 hour, the screw machine is able to produce 115 tons with a more uniform fraction and a higher SiO₂ content with a production value per shift of 623.5 tons. It shows the new method made faster and continuous process time, and made more efficient time and labor compared to the old methods which with the same load only producing 96 tons with a cycle time of 5.5 hours and the production value per shift is only 104.7 tons. The recovery value of silica sand in the process with using the screw machine reaches 96% which is higher compared to the previous method which only reaches 80%. All of this numbers shows that the use of a screw machine minimizes the loss of valuable materials and proven producing a better quality and production of silica.

Full text
Abstract:
Due to rapid population growth, technology, and economic development, electricity demand is rising, causing a gap between energy production and demand. With the emergence of the smart grid, residents can schedule their energy usage in response to the Demand Response (DR) program offered by a utility company to cope with the gap between demand and supply. This work first proposes a novel optimization-based energy management framework that adapts consumer power usage patterns using real-time pricing signals and generation from utility and photovoltaic-battery systems to minimize electricity cost, to reduce carbon emission, and to mitigate peak power consumption subjected to alleviating rebound peak generation. Secondly, a Hybrid Genetic Ant Colony Optimization (HGACO) algorithm is proposed to solve the complete scheduling model for three scenarios: without photovoltaic-battery systems, with photovoltaic systems, and with photovoltaic-battery systems. Thirdly, rebound peak generation is restricted by using Multiple Knapsack Problem (MKP) in the proposed algorithm. The presented model reduces the cost of using electricity, alleviates the peak load and peak-valley, mitigates carbon emission, and avoids rebound peaks without posing high discomfort to the consumers. To evaluate the applicability of the proposed framework comparatively with existing frameworks, simulations are conducted. The results show that the proposed HGACO algorithm reduced electricity cost, carbon emission, and peak load by 49.51%, 48.01%, and 25.72% in scenario I; by 55.85%, 54.22%, and 21.69% in scenario II, and by 59.06%, 57.42%, and 17.40% in scenario III, respectively, compared to without scheduling. Thus, the proposed HGACO algorithm-based energy management framework outperforms existing frameworks based on Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, Genetic Algorithm (GA), Hybrid Genetic Particle swarm Optimization (HGPO) algorithm.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Background: The gain-of-function JAK2 V617F mutant is the most common driver mutation identified in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Additional somatic variants, also found in other malignant hemopathies, are detected in primary myelofibrosis (MF) and supposed to contribute to fibrosis or leukemia development. One of these mutations affects SRSF2, a gene encoding a component of the splicing machinery. SRSF2 heterozygous mutation mainly affects the proline 95 residue of the protein. Its association with JAK2 V617F correlates with a reduced leukemia free survival. Whether and how SRSF2 P95 variants could favor fibrosis development in JAK2 V617F cells remained unknown. Methods & Results: To investigate how homozygous Jak2 V617F and heterozygous Srsf2 P95H could interact in the hematopoietic tissue, we generated conditional knock-in mice in which the CreERt recombinase expression was driven by the HSC-Scl promoter leading to Jak2 V617F and/or Srsf2 P95H hematopoietic-specific expression upon tamoxifen induction. Srsf2 P95H mutation initially exhibited limited effect on Jak2 V617F-induced polycythemia vera (PV) only slightly reducing erythrocytosis and leukocytosis (through a previously described decrease in B220 + B cell number). The expansion of hematopoietic stem cells (SLAM), multipotent progenitors (MPP) and megakaryocyte progenitors (MKP) observed in Jak2 V617F mice was not affected by Srsf2 status. However, while platelet count was decreasing in Jak2 V617F alone mice at later time point due to fibrosis development, Srsf2 P95H/Jak2 V617F combination further increased platelet counts correlating with a significant delay in the development of myelofibrosis. Bone marrow cells (BM) were transplanted into lethally irradiated recipient mice together with GFP-positive wild-type competitor cells and tamoxifen was administrated after transplantation. Double mutant cells initially demonstrated a limited competitive advantage over wild-type cells as compared to Jak2 V617F-only cells. However, serial transplantation revealed a rapid exhaustion of Jak2 V617F single mutant cells leading to lethal pancytopenia, which was not observed in animals transplanted with Jak2 V617F/Srsf2 P95H double mutant cells. As both monocytes and megakaryocytes (MK) were involved in fibrosis development, we further explored the role of these two cell populations. Spectral flow analysis of monocyte subsets in peripheral blood and BM failed to detect any significant change in double compared to single mutant animals. In contrast, double-mutant mice presented a significant delay in MK maturation with normalized expression of c-Mpl and ploidy. Using mass cytometry, we found ex vivo a higher proportion of MKP and MK expressing high levels of P-Stat5 in Jak2 V617F mice, which the addition of Srsf2 P95H tend to reduce, suggesting an altered Mpl/Jak2 signaling pathway. To validate the hypothesis that Srsf2 P95H negatively interfere with Jak2-mediated signaling in MK, we injected high dose of the thrombopoietin-mimetic romiplostim in mice transplanted with wild-type or Srsf2 P95H BM. Both thrombocytosis and myelofibrosis were significantly reduced in Srsf2 P95H transplanted animals. To further decipher the mechanism by which Srsf2 P95H could alter cell signaling, we performed bulk RNA sequencing on sorted MK. Pathway analysis using gene set enrichment analysis identified mostly a down-regulation of signaling pathways, including JAK/STAT signaling, in Jak2 V617F/Srsf2 P95H compared to Jak2 V617F single mutant cells. Further analysis of splicing events in Srsf2 P95H mutant cells identified an increased exon 14 skipping in Jak2, which was validated by RT-qPCR. Summary: Contrary to EZH2 mutation that promotes JAK2 V617F-induced myelofibrosis in mouse models, heterozygous Srsf2 P95H delays myelofibrosis development in Jak2 V617F-transgenic mice. Srsf2 P95H co-mutation prevents the clonal exhaustion induced by serial transplantation of JAK2 V617F BM cells. This effect is associated with a reduced signaling in MK, which may involve abnormal splicing of signaling components including Jak2 exon 14 skipping. Abstract:

Abstract:
This research aims to examine how liquidity, leverage, activity, and growth influence company financial performance before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research used purposive sampling with a population of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2017-2019 for the period before the COVID-19 pandemic and in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic obtained 279 observations. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26. The results showed that Liquidity significantly affected the company's financial performance before the COVID-19 pandemic. In contrast, it has a significant negative effect on ROA, an insignificant negative effect on ROE and an insignificant positive effect on Tobin's q during the COVID-19 pandemic. Leverage has significant adverse effects before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Activity had a significant positive effect before the COVID-19 pandemic, while it had a non-significant positive effect during the COVID-19 pandemic. Growth had a significant positive effect before the COVID-19 pandemic, a non-significant positive effect on ROA and ROE, and an insignificant negative effect on Tobin's q during the COVID-19 pandemic. Companies should pay attention to the leverage ratio because leverage has a significant negative influence before and during COVID-19, which means leverage can significantly reduce financial performance. For this reason, the company must regulate the capital structure following the company's capabilities.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to provide an alternative implementation of the Balanced Scorecard to improve the performance of the company in the long run. The alternative is recommended, because the measurement of the performance of the company was considered inappropriate. This is because at this time, the company uses traditional performance measurement which only emphasizes the financial aspects only. Study of literature and field observations have been made to obtain information related to the problem that occurred in the company. A questionnaire was used as a tool to look at from the side of the customers and workers during the traditional performance measurement is not a measurement element. Performance of the company in 2011 was less than satisfactory, due to a decrease in operating income, which also resulted in the company's net profit declined. Satisfactory results were obtained through questionnaires to customers who indicate that customers have been satisfied with the performance of the company. Questionnaire distributed to workers also showed satisfactory results that affect the company's internal business processes. It is known when the measurement of internal business process perspective, and learning and growth perspective is done. Suggestions and improvements to the company will be adapted to the circumstances of the company.

Abstract:
Purpose Today, methods and risk analysis tools are used to argue decisions concerning issuance of operating licenses, risk management and development of action and emergency plans. In practice, a company is looking for a tool to help in decision-making and in the development of action plans. Thus, the creation of a safe working environment is essential to a company’s success and is one of the best ways to attract/retain staff and increase productivity. It should then set up a kind of funnel sieve that allows understanding all risks to keep only the most significant, which should be given priority. Thus, global risk management should be based on an accurate diagnosis of all company risks. This diagnosis can be formalized in the form of a risk map. The latter is crucial because it raises the overall risk identification, assessment, prioritization and prioritization of action. It is an essential component of any company’s risk management processes. The objective is to have an overall inventory (entity, system, process, activity, etc.) of the vulnerabilities of all fields of activity. It offers a simple and didactic presentation, giving an overview to decision-makers to guide their strategic choices of action. This mapping is then used to monitor the effectiveness of strategies implemented, forming, in a very relevant tool for communication, the objective assessment of this work. So, the purpose of this study is to describe a methodology for comprehensive risk analysis, called risk map. The purpose of this work is to provide a decision support tool to identify areas of weaknesses to allow setting priorities for action to be undertaken by the company to improve the working conditions by organizational, technical and human solutions while engaging in a process of continuous improvement. Design/methodology/approach The proposed approach for the development of a risk map comprises five stages: risk identification, where the starting point is the identification of the main company processes or, alternatively, the main company activities; exhibition evaluation, the company counts then evaluate the most important risks that affect their processes or activities and persons; evaluation and prioritization of risks; action plan, the company implements the action plan developed on the basis of the prioritization of risks and the company identifies the solutions implemented to reduce the risk and evaluates; and actions control. Findings This study allows making an image of overall places with vulnerabilities inside the company by a simple and didactic representation, facilitating the promotion of a culture of communication regarding the company vulnerabilities. The development of this risk mapping allowed the development of a very useful tool of communication on the inventory for formulating a risk appetite and determining the risk profile. It is a tool for decision and action whose purpose is the improvement of working conditions by organizational solutions, technical and human resources for the health and safety of employees while engaging in a process of continuous improvement. Research limitations/implications The limitations of this study include the lack of competence in risk concepts. It is enough to have a pludisciplinary team to highlight the various dangers and move to the priorities and engage in a process of continuous improvement. Practical implications The approach detailed in this study can be used in any entity. One just needs to have skills. Social implications Low level of work accidents, a pleasant working environment, a very good motivation, a good productivity at work. Originality/value This work intends to reflect the concrete situation in which companies face the risks. It is interested in the relations between scientific expertise and the precautionary principle. It is a tool that guarantees the success of any preventive approach in a company. It is a decision-making tool for identifying areas of weakness to establish priorities for action by a company whose aim is to improve the working conditions through organizational, technical and human resources while engaging in a process of continuous improvement.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the effect of company size, leverage, and profitability on social responsibility disclosure in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) 2014-2016. The sample used in this study is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange ( IDX) based on predetermined criteria. The sampling method used was purposive sampling and 153 data were selected as samples, and hypothesis testing in this study using multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the independent variable company size and leverage partially have a significant effect, but the independent variable partially profitability does not have a significant effect on social responsibility disclosure. And the test results of the coefficient of determination show a number of 0.103, this indicates that simultaneously the independent variables of company size, leverage, and profitability are able to explain the dependent variable social responsibility disclosure as much as 10.3%, while the remaining 89.7% is explained by other variables.
