Three exemplary models of how philosophical thinking is defined in the encounter with different cultures are critically discussed: 1. the self-centred model, in which other cultures are seen as preliminary stages of one's own way of thinking, 2. the competitive model, which calculates different traditions according to comparitve strengths and weaknesses, 3. the model of philosophy based upon the distinction between scientific and mythical ways of thinking, and which determines the value of philosophical assertions by reference to the employment of specific methods of representation.

Abstract:
The SMC I band light curves of the OGLE project show a curious absence of familiar Algols. Comparitive statistical work for SMC and Milky Way Algols might uncover an evolutionary explanation, presumably connected with chemical composition, or may point to observational selection or even merely perception. As background, LMC and SMC abundances of nitrogen, oxygen, and neon are lower than in our Galaxy by respective factors of about 2.5 and 6, raising the issue of metallicity effects on semi-detached (SD) statistics – specifically on SD light curves and numbers of SDs. Lobe overflow is a triggered process, with both system age and structural configuration at triggering dependent on composition.

Abstract:
Based on the survey cunducted in 2004, beekeepers in Chitwan had small and fragmented land holdings with lower rate of return from subsistence crop farming. They are keeping Apis mellifera L.in Langstroth hive in Terai and A. cerana Fab. in improved, traditional-log and wall hives in hills, for honey production purpose. The honey productivity in Terai was 3.54 folds higher (28.7 vs 8.1 kg/yr/hive) than in hills with highest average annual income in Bharatpur area followed by East and West Chitwan. Moreover, the income of the beekeepers in Chitwan from honey production was 3.62 folds higher than crop farming (NRs 83,996.88 vs NRs 23,214.22 /house hold/year). It clearly showed that beekeeping with A. mellifera in the Terai is potential enterprise for higher income compared to crop production. Abstract:
The most attractive aspect of data mining is link prediction in a complex network. Link prediction is the behavior of the network link formation by predicting missed and future relationships among elements based on current observed connections. Link prediction techniques can be categorized into probabilistic, similarity, and dimension reduction based. In this paper six familiar link predictors are applied on seven different network datasets to provide directory to users. The experimental results of multiple prediction algorithms were compared and analyzed on the basis of proposed comparative link prediction model. The results revealed that Jaccard coefficient and Hub promoted performed well on most of the datasets. Different applied methods are arranged on the basis of accuracy. Moreover, the shortcomings of different techniques are also presented.

Abstract:
We study the entanglement properties of a pair of two-level atoms going through a cavity one after another. The initial joint state of two successive atoms that enter the cavity is unentangled. Interactions mediated by the cavity photon field result in the final two-atom state being of a mixed entangled type. We consider the field statistics of the Fock state field, and the thermal field, respectively, inside the cavity. The entanglement of formation of the joint two-atom state is calculated for both these cases as a function of the Rabi angle gt. We present a comparitive study of two-atom entanglement for low and high mean photon number cases corresponding to the different fields statistics.

In this letter an Improved Cell Search Design using cyclic codes (Improved CSD) is compared with the 3GPP Cell Search Design using comma free codes (3GPP-comma free CSD) in terms of (1) hardware utilization on a field programmable gate array and (2) acquisition time measures for different probabilities of false alarm rates. Our results indicate that for an additive white Gaussian noise channel in a high signal-to-noise ratio the Improved CSD achieves faster synchronization with the base station and has lower hardware utilization when compared with the 3GPP-comma free CSD scheme under the same design constraints.

Abstract:
Organic materials in soils mainly consist of alkanes, esters, aromatic compounds and plant secondary metabolites, but they are different from one another in material type and quantity, depending on the types of slopes. This paper conducts a comparitive study on soils from slopes along the Suining-Chongqing Railway. Preparing soil samples from the rocky slope, the cultivated and uncultivated slopes by using ultrasonic methods, we measured the organic materials with a chromatograph mass spectrometer (QP2100). The results show that the number and types of organic materials decrease from the cultivated slopes to uncultivated slopes and then to rocky slopes. No contaminant appears in artificial soils on rocky slopes, but it is found in natural soils. Hence, it can be concluded that the reconstruction of soils on engineering slopes is beneficial not only for ecological restoration, but also for the prevention of pollution.

Abstract:
The efficacy of levamisole, ivermectin and three different preparations of oxfendazole, applied at the recommended rate, were evaluated in flocks of sheep kept at two farms in Thal desert, Pakistan. Sixty animals on each farm were selected randomly on the basis of their weight and egg count of more than 150 eggs per gram of faeces. Three preparations of oxfendazole (fendamex, oxazole, syatamex), levamisole and ivermectin were given to five groups while one untreated group was kept as control. Faecal egg counts, faecal egg count reduction test, postmortem worm count and copro-culture were performed to assess the efficacy of selected anthelmintics. Levamisole and ivermectin preparations reduced (P ≤ 0.05) prevalent species of gastrointestinal nematodes in both flocks. Oxfendazole preparations exhibited low efficacy and some gastrointestinal nematodes (Haemonchus and Trichostrongylus) were suspected for resistance against these preparations, with resistance more pronounced in oxazole followed by systamex and fendamex. It was concluded that all oxfendazole preparations had low efficacy with suspicion for anthelmintic resistance while levamisole and ivermectin had reasonable effectiveness against prevalent gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep kept in Thal desert, Pakistan. Abstract:

The need of wireless services increasing day by day due to the advancements in the field of wireless technology towards 5G for instant transferring the mails, messages and video calling without any interruption. In LTE and 5G wireless networks, major task is to provide seamless connection anywhere, anytime when the user may roam among Heterogeneous Wireless Networks (HetNets). To achieve proper mobility management among HetNets, handoff or hadover is required. Handover Probability is one of the metric to estimate the handover performance, which is a probability of Mobile Node to handover the present connection from the current base station to another base station or enode B. In this paper, handoff probability analysis is done for multiple HetNets based on Handover Algorithm. To estimate this algorithm, bandwidth is considered as one of the key parameter. A comparative analysis of handover probability for two, three, four and five HetNets has been performed. The results can demonstrate that the variation of handover probability with respect to traffic load, threshold and bandwidth. It is observed that, as the number of wireless networks increases handover probability slightly increases with traffic load. These results are more significant to estimate further wrong decision handovers based on that Quality of Service (QoS) is evaluated in practical HetNets such as integration of LTE, Wi-Fi and WiMAX etc.

Abstract:
The influence of embedment, base diameter, and backfill density on the uplift behaviour of piles with enlarged bases embedded in sand was investigated in a centrifuge. Comparitive tests on straight-shafted piles are also reported. For piles in dense sand, sensible agreement was found with earlier research on anchor plates and published field data. However, uplift capacities in loose sand were considerably lower than previously observed for anchor plates. A number of theories for anchors considerably overpredict the observed capacity for belled piers in both dense and loose sand, although in the case of dense sand, reasonable values are obtained using an empirical equation derived from centrifuge tests on anchor plates and a finite element based design approach. The normally conservative vertical slip-surface model is alone in providing reasonable agreement with the surprisingly low observations for piles in loose sand. Key words: piles, uplift capacity, centrifuge tests, sand.
