Abstract:
The concept of competitiveness describes the relative, or comparative, position (economic, social, technological, etc.) of a company, industry, region, country or a group of countries with regard to other business firms, industries, countries, and groups of countries. According to Ivanov (2008), first of all, competitiveness is a complex economic phenomenon which has at least 3 levels: macro- (national economy), mezo- (regional economy, industry), and micro- (company economy). Each of the aforementioned levels has its own specifics and unique indicators that are to be applied in the process of competitiveness evaluation. It must be emphasized that the evaluation of competitiveness is economically relevant for a number of reasons: first, it is a process which enables to identify all the strengths and weaknesses of a national economy, striving for balanced and sustainable economic growth; second, the evaluation of competitiveness provides the basis for the creation of efficient economic stimulation instruments, as it identifies the competitive advantages of goods and services, and enables to forecast their ability to compete with analogical goods and services in local and foreign markets. Various competitiveness evaluation methods, which differ in terms of scope and application aim, have an essential common feature – they enable to define the relative position of an object with regard to other analogical objects by the use of various evaluation criteria and competitiveness indicators. The main evaluation problems that arise at the theoretical, or methodological, level are: the absence of a definite, clear, and solid concept of competitiveness; and the limitations caused by various evaluation methods. Practical problems are associated with limited resources, and the quality of (as well as the access to) relevant information, used in the process of competitiveness evaluation.

Abstract:
The company's ability to offer competitive products to the market on time is a key success factor, and more and more modern Russian managers are successfully implementing integrated approaches to the formation and management of competitiveness at all stages of the life cycle. However, at the moment, both in business practice and in the economic literature, there is no single approach to the definition of the concept of "competitiveness", a single methodology for evaluation has not been developed. The conducted content analysis allowed us to identify the unconditional properties of competitive products – the ability to surpass the competitor's products in terms of price and nonprice parameters and simultaneously meet the leading and currently relevant consumer needs at each stage of the product life cycle. When implementing the competitiveness assessment procedure, it is necessary to pay attention to the regulation of all the main stages, depending on the objectives of the assessment. Taking into account the characteristics of the product, the researcher needs to solve a number of ambiguous questions: to form a base for comparison, to choose the comparison parameters, and the evaluation method. The article identifies the risks that can distort the results of the study, highlights the key shortcomings of the most common assessment methods. As promising methods, the author suggests adapting the method of analyzing hierarchies, functionalcost analysis, and structuring quality functions.

Abstract:
Major features of specific services have much in common with other services, being, however, more closely related to marketing strategies. The article deals with the principles of quantitative evaluation of competitiveness of services. The complex approach to the above problems should be developed. The major goal of the present investigation is to develop basic theoretical principles for the analysis of total value and competitiveness of services and competitive advantage of service companies aimed at solving actual problems. Let us consider, for example, basic principles of evaluation of the competitiveness of road transport services. For this purpose, a new concept referred to as the total value of the transport services is offered. It reflects more detailed evaluation of services quality. For a general case, the model for the services value may be expressed as the dependence of total value vector on the vectors of local values. The index of competitiveness may be expressed in terms of the concept of total value. In determining the impact of inside factors on the performance of the services system, the emphasis should be placed on competitive advantage as a major criterion reflecting its effectiveness. The goal is to establish the relationship between them and the efficiency characteristics of the above system, as well as its competitive advantage. In the present investigation, the suggested evaluation criteria imply that competitiveness (competitive advantage) of the services system is expressed in terms of the vector belonging to a set of vectors generally describing how effectively the system performs. Competitiveness is, in turn, defined by a system of inside components: marketing management and technological competitiveness, competitiveness of services and level of diversification (differentiation).

Abstract:
The steel industry, as a fundamental industry in the organic development framework of China's economy, has been facing the long-standing problems of production exceeding consumption, high asset liability ratio, severe product homogenization competition, and high pollution and carbon emissions in the production process in recent times. At the same time, due to the impact of the sluggish demand caused by the COVID-19, the rapid rise in the cost of raw materials such as iron ore, and the gradual disappearance of a series of policy dividends such as supply side reform, the financial situation of steel enterprises is becoming more and more pessimistic. How to cope with the increasing financial risks and gain competitive advantages through strengthening financial competitiveness in the fierce market competition has become a major issue that China's steel enterprises urgently need to solve. This article selects steel industry enterprises as the research object for analysis. By reviewing relevant literature on enterprise competitiveness, the relevant concepts of enterprise competitiveness are extracted, and the research results and evaluation system are organized. Based on factor analysis, 16 targeted indicators are selected based on scale, efficiency, growth, operational capacity, debt paying capacity, and research and development capacity. An analysis model is constructed and analysis conclusions are drawn. In the analysis results, problems are identified regarding the poor competitiveness of steel industry enterprises. The following research results were obtained: 1) The overall competitiveness score of enterprises in the industry is not high, all less than 1. Among them, operational capability has the greatest impact on the competitiveness of steel industry enterprises, followed by scale, debt paying ability, efficiency, research and development ability, and growth. 2) The worst scoring indicators among the six enterprise competitiveness indicators are the scale indicator and the growth indicator. There is a significant gap in industry scale, with 12 companies scoring positive in the scale factor, accounting for 34.29% of the industry; The scale factor score of 23 enterprises is negative, with an industry proportion of 65.71%. In addition, there are growth indicators, with 12 companies in the industry having positive growth factor scores and 23 companies having negative growth factor scores, indicating a significant head effect on overall growth capacity.

The study is engaged in the problems of competitiveness and the performance of the Czech food industry. Both these attributes are evaluated in the framework the domestic manufacturing sector and market, as well as from the point of view of the relations in foreign trade, that means in context with the European and world market. The study applies in the frame of methodology the economic model based on input-output analysis in CZ conditions. In majority of assessed indicators, there were used databases from 2000–2008, i.e. the period before and after the accession to the EU. The outcome of the study is the evaluation of the situation in the macroeconomic environment that influences food sector and the use of input and output in this sector. The SWOT analysis shows, among other, the occasions that could improve the current stagnant or rather decreasing situation of competitiveness of the assessed sector. The study also indicated new directions of the further development in this area. The analysis of the food sector development demonstrated that the sector competitiveness is not in a critical situation. However, the sector competitiveness assessed by the RCA index and foreign trade is not going to be improved. The stagnation has come. As it follows from the SWOT analysis, the reason is that the opportunities of the sector are not fully utilised. Food producers are facing the basic problems in the output sphere mainly in the domestic market. Above all, it is necessary to strengthen marketing with regard to improving the Czech products competitiveness.

Abstract:
In the context of e-commerce trade between enterprises, there are problems such as price wars, false advertising, and unreasonable operations aimed at seizing market share. However, traditional estimation methods cannot provide a reasonable evaluation of the marketing competitiveness of e-commerce enterprises from an overall perspective. To help enterprises better clarify their own position and quantify their marketing competitiveness, a competitiveness evaluation model based on optimized deep learning networks is proposed. By combining subjective and objective evaluation methods, the indicators that affect the marketing competitiveness of enterprises are assigned to obtain the final competitiveness value. The research outcomes expressed that the max absolute error of the model constructed by the research institute was 0.0006, the max relative error was 0.0045, and the model accuracy was 99.85%. In the secondary indicator experiment of marketing competition, the model determined that the turnover rate of fixed assets had the greatest impact, with a weight value of 0.1263. Nine companies were randomly selected for market value estimation, and the average relative error of the model was 14.90%, which was lower than the mean relative error of the relative valuation, cash flow and absolute valuation methods, with numerical differences of 8.03%, 2.94%, and 0.12%, respectively. The research findings illustrated that the model constructed by the research institute had good performance and certain reference values for evaluating the marketing competitiveness of e-commerce enterprises.

It is studied that today in the context of energy efficiency policy three components dominate – economic development and competitiveness, energy security and climate change prevention. The essence and content of energy efficiency are investigated in the article. The definition of energy efficiency terms used to describe both minor changes, such as the use of energy-saving equipment, and more efficient power plants and energy savings at the level of companies and industries in general, is described. The existing problems are considered and the current state of energy efficiency is analyzed. Analyzed empirical facts show that, for example, Ukrainian consumers and companies spend energy irrationally. In particular, the energy intensity of the Ukrainian economy is 3.8 times higher than in the European Union. The most energy-intensive industries in Ukraine – metallurgy, engineering, chemical and petrochemical (energy saving potential, according to experts in this market is 62-64%), housing and communal services (35-38%), services (5%), agriculture (3-5%). The most energy-intensive industries in Ukraine in 2018, kg of oil equivalent / $ GDP at purchasing power parity in 2013 prices are given. The goals of energy saving of Ukraine by sectors by 2020 compared to the level of 2005-2009 are indicated. The reasons for the obstacles to the introduction of energy efficiency are substantiated. The development of the regional economy cannot be separated from the support of regional logistics, as the scientific decisions of regional logistics are helpful to promote the healthy development of the regional economy. The comprehensive evaluation of regional logistics competitiveness is the premise and foundation of regional logistics scientific decision-making; the evaluation index system, evaluation data, and index weight are the key links affecting a comprehensive evaluation. In order to improve the quality of a comprehensive evaluation, the study aims at addressing problems such as the evaluation index system of regional logistics competitiveness being complex and scattered, the normalized distribution of the evaluation data being extremely asymmetric and seriously deviating from the normal distribution, and the logic of calculating index weights by the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) not being accurate. To do this, a triangle model of regional logistics competitiveness is constructed based on Porter’s diamond model, and the evaluation index system of regional logistics competitiveness is refined from the three dimensions of resource supply, logistics service, and market demand. Based on the concept of symmetry theory, a normalization method of segmental mapping with quartiles as multiple reference points is proposed, which improves the distribution rationality, symmetry, and distance discrimination of normalized data. The dynamic index scale is used to determine the scale of the analytic hierarchy process, and the evaluation matrix is constructed based on the importance level grading table; the index weights are directly solved without a consistency check, which improves the logical accuracy of a subjective evaluation. Based on the data of segment mapping, the comprehensive evaluation value of the evaluation object is calculated, and the competitiveness of regional logistics is compared and ranked, which improves the differentiation and consistency of the results. Through the comparative analysis of the calculation results, it was proven that the improvement of the data standardization method is necessary when the range is too large. The method in this paper can make the distribution of data standardization with a range too large closer to the normal distribution. It was found that the ranking of regional logistics competitiveness is highly consistent with the total social logistics, and that the total amount of regional logistics has an important reference value for the competitiveness of regional logistics. The ranking calculated by the indicators and methods in this paper has a certain reference value for regional logistics decision-making.

Abstract:
With the rise of e-commerce in China, the express delivery industry has developed rapidly; however, in this stage of rapid growth, the development of express delivery enterprises is uneven. There are problems such as high loss, damage rates, and poor service attitudes. An evaluation of the competitiveness of express delivery enterprises can help these companies understand their shortcomings and learn from each other’s strengths, which can promote the long-term development of express delivery enterprises. In this study, the information entropy method and the gray prediction method were used to establish an index system and analyze the core competitiveness of four listed express delivery companies in China, using indicators such as service quality, price level, market position, guarantee ability, and comprehensive strength; the purpose was to study the competitive advantages of these express companies. By using the gray correlation analysis to calculate the degree of correlation and comparing the size of the degree of correlation, it can be concluded that among the four express delivery companies, ZTO Express shows the strongest competitiveness and that Shentong Express is the weakest. Through the evaluation and analysis of the competitiveness of express delivery enterprises, this study provides a reference basis for operation development and competitiveness improvement of express delivery enterprises in China.

Abstract:
Establishing a competitiveness evaluation index system of lighting industry, quantitative evaluation of sustainable development performances of the industry, and scientific recognition of shortages against the industrial development have important strategic significance to guide local governments to adjust the industrial development strategies and realize the multi-dimensional goals of sound and sustainable development. In view of connotations of competitiveness of light and engineering industry, a competitiveness evaluation index system of this type industry is established in this study based on the overall goal of the new high-quality development layout. The dimensions of this system cover industrial input capacity, industrial output capacity, industrial technological innovation capability, and policy environmental capacity. Based on data in 2022, the provincial competitiveness level of light and engineering industry in China was evaluated by TOPSIS method and entropy method. Regional heterogeneity, constraints, and spatial characteristics of competitiveness of lighting industry in China were disclosed. Results demonstrate that: – Generally speaking, the sustainable development level of lighting industry in China is increasing gradually; there are relatively high competitiveness level of lighting industry in Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi; – The industrial input capacities and the industrial output capacities have significant contributions to competitiveness of lighting industry in China, while industrial technological innovation capability and policy environmental capacity have less contributions; – Competitiveness levels of lighting industry are different in different provinces, showing a pattern of high level in Southeast China and low level in Northwest China, besides constraints against competitiveness of lighting industry also vary significantly among provinces, especially in improving output efficiency; – The competitiveness of lighting industry is weak in key development field, restricted development field, potential growth field and appropriate development field. Thus, improving product quality and safety level, promoting resource saving and strengthening production control ability are common directions for provinces to improve competitiveness of lighting industry. Therefore, this study believes that competitiveness level of lighting industry in China under the new high-quality development layout is required to combine with shortages of regional development, focus on establishment of the lighting industrial system, and solve problems like technological innovation and backward production facilities firstly. Moreover, improving product quality and optimizing resource utilization are breakthroughs to realize sustainable development of the national light and engineering industry.

Despite the valuable economic benefits of tourism, it must be highlighted that the tourism industry is an important source of stress for the environment with the main influence on tourist destinations. The aim of this study is to investigate the elements of environmental sustainability in tourism as key factors in the competitiveness of tourism using entropy methods. According to the authors’ knowledge, it is the first time that the entropy model applied to Environmental sustainability indicators, regarding entropy as a measure of non-uniformity among sustainability indicators of EU countries. The data of the EU were used and Environmental sustainability pillar of the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index. The results show that the total entropy of the competitiveness of tourism within the environmental sustainability sub-index of the EU countries speaks in favor of the uniformity of the indicators. The study also reveals significant differences among the EU27 in the domain of the Global Climate Risk index, Baseline water stress and Forest cover loss. Furthermore, convergence has been achieved so far in the indicators Red List Index and Environmental treaty ratification. Finally, the methodological approach of this study has the potential to be extrapolated worldwide, especially in the future era of global environmental problems.

Abstract:
The need to create conditions for attracting capital, which is the basis of economic growth in modern conditions, is particularly important. The improvement of mechanisms for reinvesting capital in economic growth and development is directly related to the macroeconomic mechanism itself. At the same time, the state is both the main initiator of investment policy and an investor. In this regard, the direct availability of an effective investment strategy and its high-quality implementation can significantly increase investment attractiveness at the level of the state, as well as at the level of the region or any subject. The systematic and systematic nature of investment activity implies the existence of mechanisms for attracting and implementing investments that significantly increase their effectiveness. The most complete and effective implementation of the capabilities of any subject is possible only with a systematic strategic approach. The state of the investment climate of the Republic of Crimea is the basis for decision-making by investors, so one of the main tasks of the region is to create a favorable investment environment by implementing a long-term investment development strategy. By implementing an investment policy, the state and the regions, including Crimea, strive to achieve economic security, rationally deploy productive forces, strengthen their own industrial base as a whole, and structurally restructure the regional economy, thereby ensuring sufficient capital inflows for economic sectors and increasing their own competitiveness.

To promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River economic belt is a major development strategy in China. As the lifeblood of the national economy, manufacturing industry is of great significance to realize the high-quality development of the Yangtze River economic belt. Based on the analysis of the overall situation of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River economic belt and the diamond model theory, this paper constructs an evaluation index system of manufacturing industry competitiveness with 4 first-class indexes and 16 second-class indexes, comprehensively evaluates the manufacturing industry competitiveness of each region by entropy method, and ranks the whole country. The results show that the manufacturing competitiveness of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River economic belt is quite different and has obvious regional characteristics. The competitiveness of manufacturing industry in downstream regions is strong, while that in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces is weak, ranking at the bottom. Through in-depth analysis, it is found that there are some problems, such as unbalanced development, homogenization of industry, unreasonable layout of manufacturing industry. Combined with the development experience of excellent manufacturing industry and the regional characteristics of the Yangtze River economic belt, this paper proposes that we should speed up the industrial agglomeration, adhere to the innovation driven strategy, optimize the industrial layout and other ways to enhance the manufacturing competitiveness of the Yangtze River economic belt and promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River economic belt.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of transport municipal enterprises of Kyiv as an employer, identification of their competitive position, and outlining the problems of the analysed enterprises that may provoke an increase in the turnover of employees – workers and employees holding managerial positions. The competitiveness of an enterprise in the labour market means both real and potential capabilities of the enterprise to create and offer employees more attractive working conditions compared to competitors. It is important to note that the employer's competitiveness depends on the type of jobs offered, the organisation of their economic evaluation and information about the availability of vacancies, as well as work with applicants. Today, the problem of staff reductions at domestic enterprises is quite acute, triggered by a number of external reasons, including migration and mobilisation; and internal reasons, such as tense working conditions, imperfect motivation system, and unfavourable microclimate in the team. And while external problems cannot be influenced by the company in any way, internal problems can be solved by the company's management independently, for example, by adjusting labour behaviour through improving the motivation system, establishing a favourable microclimate in the team and organising a comfortable workplace. Solving these problems can attract new employees and retain existing staff, which ensures the proper functioning of domestic enterprises and, as a result, the country's economic development. In order to determine the competitive position of an enterprise as an employer, an analysis of the main indicators influencing the labour behaviour of employees at Kyiv municipal enterprises, the main governing body of which is the Department of Transport Infrastructure, was carried out. Determination of the competitive position of enterprises in the labour market and identification of their positive and negative indicators can adjust the personnel management system and the motivation system at the enterprise to retain existing staff and attract new qualified employees. This study can be considered relevant at present due to the threat of employee migration, which provokes a staff shortage both in a particular industry and in the country as a whole.

There has been a significant lack of data on product and input markets, aquaculture consumption characteristics, production, distribution and marketing issues, and supply and value chain in Turkish fishing and aquaculture sectors. Therefore, the study examined the competitiveness of the Turkish aquaculture industry. Time series data belonging the time period of 1976-2020 gathered from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Trade Organization and Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) were used in the study. In the research, the competitiveness of the Turkish fishing and aquaculture sector has been explored by using the Balassa index, total factor productivity and production costs. The research results show that the fisheries in Turkey are small-scale, technological level are insufficient and there are financial problems. Based on the revealed comparative advantage (RCA) values of the world and EU, which are 0.65 and 1.86, respectively, Turkey 's has competitive power over EU countries, while the reverse is the case for the world. Although fisheries supply chain has been established in Turkey, the value chain has not yet been fully established and activated. The study suggests increasing the efficiency in aquaculture production, having a strong interaction with the market during the production phase, having a high awareness of the price trends and consumer needs throughout the supply chain, using modern production and distribution technologies, and developing effective extension/education activities to reach the desired point in the Turkish aquaculture sector. Quality standards should be at the international level to increase export opportunities and competitiveness of Turkish aquaculture sector.

Based on the generalization of the existing methodological experience and taking into account the specifics of trading enterprises, the theoretical aspects and methodological tools for assessing the consumer loyalty of the enterprise were improved. The evaluation indicators and methodical approach to the assessment of consumer loyalty of the enterprise are substantiated. The theoretical and methodological basis of scientific research was the scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists on the problems of assessing consumer loyalty. To solve the set tasks, economic-statistical methods (statistical, dynamic, comparative, structural, matrix and expert analysis) were used to assess loyalty and substantiate management decisions. Approbation of the proposed methodological approach was carried out on the example of consumers of a single retail network enterprise. The resulting methodological tools can be used not only to assess customer loyalty, but also to analyze the situation in the enterprise and increase customer loyalty.

Abstract:
Modern business judgment is mostly faced with complex, unclear nature, and not fully confirmed research objects and needs a lot of relevant data investigation, inherent contradiction retrieval, and the discovery and extraction of potential laws. Formulation of rules and evaluation of system uncertainty: Appropriate decisions can be made based on this. Rough set theory is a new mathematical tool to deal with uncertain knowledge. Therefore, the theory of rough set is helpful for decision-makers to solve the decision problems of complex systems. The simplification of knowledge of information systems and incomplete information systems and the theoretical and methodological study of rule acquisition are the central issues of rough set theory and applied research. A variety of simplified theories and methods have been proposed from a variety of viewpoints. However, there are still many theoretical problems that need to be investigated and solved in these aspects. In addition, the investment environment is a complex organic system that includes economic environment, social environment, resource environment, infrastructure, and other factors. There are a variety of data to measure these factors, which are mutually restrictive and interdependent. At present, domestic and foreign scholars have basically formed a series of assessment methods and models of investment environment assessment, but most of these assessment methods are affected by the differences in the degree of subjective factors of evaluators and the establishment of index weights in the assessment process. In most cases, more reliance is placed on subjective, artificial assignments and scoring loops. Therefore, it is an appropriate and reasonable method to evaluate the investment environment through data to evaluate all the factors affecting the investment environment and reach a comprehensive evaluation conclusion, which can effectively avoid human subjective factors to a certain extent.

Abstract:
With the increase in severe environmental problems associated with fossil fuel vehicles, the development of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) has led to their promotion and use in Chinese provinces and cities. The comprehensive evaluation of competitiveness of the AFV industry in Chinese cities is beneficial to analyse the effects and relationships of different factors to promote the sustainable development of the AFV industry and guide the growth paths of the cities. An industrial competitiveness evaluation index system is established based on the characteristics of AFVs, and the development of the AFV industry in ten typical cities in China is comprehensively evaluated based on the Grey Relative Analysis (GRA) Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) methods. To evaluate the results, the entropy weighting method is used for the weight distribution, and the industrial competitiveness rankings of ten cities are obtained by the entropy-GRA, TOPSIS, PCA (EGTP) method. The results show that Beijing is ranked first, followed by Shanghai, and Qingdao is ranked last. By analysing the correlation between the evaluation methods and indicators, it is found that EGTP has a high correlation with the other three evaluation methods, which proves the rationality of the weighted linear combination of GRA and the other three methods. Indices C5 (pure electric car proportion) and C13 (average concentration of PM2.5) were outliers due to the small number of samples.
