Full textBackground: In 1990, the Swedish food market was deregulated to be enforced with theEuropean food market. Since then, the number of dairy farms has dropped from roughly 25000 companies, to a little bit more than 4 000 companies. During the end of year 2014 andthe beginning of 2015 the price paid to dairy farmers by dairies has been extremely low, which has had an impact on the dairy farmers profitability. Each dairy farmer has one dairycompany affiliation, and it is the dairy companies who decide which price they will pay forthe milk that is produced. Because of the monotone production of dairy farmers, it isusually hard for them to differentiate their product and they often end up in an unprofitablesituation. Aim: This study aims to examine the dairy industry and the structural problems Swedishdairy farmers perceive within it. Given the perceived structural problems, we want toexamine the approach Swedish dairy farmers holds to the possibilities they considerthemselves to have, to influence their role within the dairy industry. Completion: The study begun by reading newspaper articles, specialist literature and othere-references regarding the dairy industry. The collecting of secondary data was followed upby collection of primary data through several visits by dairy farms, surveys, one case studyand one telephone interview. The study has an abductive approach, and therefore theory andempirical data were collected parallelly. During the collection we used both a qualitativeand a quantitative method. The quantitative information was collected by using semistructuredand structured interviews but also by doing observations. The quantitative datawere collected using surveys. Conclusion: Swedish dairy farmers are today in a severe situation. They suffer from lowprofitability, and it is hard for them to influence their income in the current dairy industrystructure. Because dairy farmers experience low control in their daily work, and at the sametime have a very high work strain, it is possible that it will affect their health in a negativeway. However, we believe that dairy farmers, like many of them selves, can influence theirposition in the dairy industry, even though a lot of work will be needed. If dairy farmerswould like to affect their position in the industry, it would be helpful for them to develop aclear strategy for their companies, something we do not percept that many Swedish dairycompanies have today.

It is possible to say that Brazilian petrochemical companies, after the privatization process and market opening to foreign products, conducted by the Brazilian government during the ninety’s, found themselves in a fierce competitive scenario, that carried them into significant institutional changes. Sinceproduction capacities of Brazilian petrochemical plants are lower than foreign competitions, making difficult competition based on cost strategies, upgrades in products become primordial to competitiveness. This fact indicates how important is the innovation process in the companies to keep them surviving in the new market. The present study tried to analyze how the Petrochemical Industry Economy, specially the South Petrochemical Pole, could fit into the necessary institutional changes, and to verify how the companies of this Industrial Complex proceed with generation, implementation and diffusion

Full textIn a knowledge based economy competitiveness is primarily based on the intangibles of a firm. But what relevance is actually given to the Management of organizational knowledge and intellectual Capital (KM/ICM) in the German economy? The Institute of Personnel Management and Leadership studies at the Chemnitz University of Technology has conducted a company survey on KM/ICM with a representative sample size of 3401 firms in order to capture the status-quo of KM/ICM- activities within the German economy. Additionally, two other main research questions have been addressed: - What are the potential drivers for the implementation of KM/ ICM? - How do KM/ ICM activities relate to organizational performance? A crucial study result reveals knowledge as a crucial production – and competitive factor in the german economy. Here, the implementation of KM/ICM is rather determined by business strategies and core competencies than firm characteristics like industry sector or firm size. Besides the findings, that KM–activities especially prevail in those firms with a predominant customer, employee and innovation orientated strategy, further KM/ICM drivers have been evaluated

ESports has been developing for more than 40 years. In 2017, the Taiwan Legislative Yuan passed the amendments to the Sports Industry Development Regulations and bring eSports into the sports industry. In the global eSports boom, Jakarta Asian Games first included the eSports competition in the pilot project, and will become an official competition in the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2020. It is no doubt that the eSports industry chain is getting more and more mature and creates huge business opportunities. Therefore, the aim of this study is to prove that how to develop the eSports industry is a subject worth researching. Most previous studies on the development of eSports industry were focused on the development of eSports alliances or the promotion of eSports development in various countries, and put less emphasis on eSports industry development strategies. Taiwan has played a significant role in eSports industry since most major eSports hardware suppliers are from here. However, OEM is the mainstream. Company A produces eSports peripheral equipment and is the leading brand of eSports. This paper uses the "case study method" to analyze business strategies and make conclusions and recommendations. It is estimated to provide a model reference for the development of eSports companies. This study analyzes the competitive factors of the eSports industry based on corporate mission, brand strategy, smile curve, five-force analysis, marketing 4.0 and value chain analysis. Moreover, it makes further analysis with SWOT and TOWS methods. According to all the interviews and strategic sketch analysis, we have sorted out the strategic recommendations. To sum up, the most important strategy for developing the eSports industry is "innovation and differentiation". With all the research methods provided by above, here comes the following conclusions: 1.Enhancing quality and integrating market information to obtain sales opportunities. 2. Continuous research and development of differentiated blue ocean products . 3. Development of offline physical storefront experience to promote water-cooled eSports computer assembly teaching to take root. The competition in the eSports industry is fierce, and it is expected that the research will propose the suggestions and directions for developing the eSports industry strategies.

Taiming Assurance Broker Co., Ltd., founded in 2002, is an insurance broker company that focuses on life insurance and property insurance. In response to the changes in the domestic environment for the development of insurance, more than ten executives from foreign life insurance companies decided to establish Taiming Assurance Broker Co., Ltd., implying the great “timing” they had chosen. With flexible business strategies and years of efforts, Taiming has been deeply trusted and supported by their customers. After strict examination, Taiming has won the recognition of the Insurance Bureau, Financial Supervisory Commission, Executive Yuan for its outstanding performance and becomes the first insurance broker company that has registered as an emerging-stock company in Taiwan. In this study, how Taiming Assurance Broker Co., Ltd. makes use of its advantages and avoids the disadvantages to create and enhance its business competitiveness in the severe competition with other traditional life insurance companies has been thoroughly explored. Based on the literature review, this study adopted the case study approach and further collected relevant literature in combination with the in-depth interviews of five suitable objects to be the source of exploration and analysis. The important conclusions obtained are listed as follows: 1. Insurance broker companies have various factors that include external environmental impacts and internal environment needs to overcome to increase the market share by business volume. 2. There are advantages and disadvantages existed in the domestic life insurance industry, and insurance broker companies can make good use of the advantages and overcome the disadvantages to create even greater business advantages. 3. The key reason that insurance broker companies have rapidly risen in the domestic insurance marketing channels is that they can exactly customize the proper products for their customers from their perspective and all policy problems can be solved by only one broker. 4. There is a big chance for insurance broker companies to become the main trend of marketing channels in the life insurance market. New insurance broker companies must engage in an inter- and cross-industry alliance and actively set the layout in Asia and in China to open up a bigger market.

SMEs have been Taiwan's important foundation of economic development. Mainland China takes advantage of cheap labor, tax incentives and other advantages to grab lots of business from Taiwan, that makes fierce price competition in recent years. Take look of Germany, the major industrial country, from the sick man of Europe after the reunification of Germany, to return to great position of the world. Many small and medium enterprises stand at the leading position in their respective fields, some companies get more than 90% global market share. Those figures motive me to study this thesis. Due to the former German ex-prime minister Schroeder and successor Mekel, take series of measures, including the “2010 Programme of Action”,” The Hartz Concept”, and “Flextime”. Those measures made Germany rapid rise from World War I, World War II, and the German reunification. Germany has become the fourth largest economy in the world. Germany got rid of the burden of welfare state policies, and put important national resource to promote employment and increase labor policy. Germany has no fear of the financial crisis and the debt crisis in Europe. It became the Europe's leading country. So-called "Hidden Champions" company means that the market share in the first or second position, annual turnover generally not more than $10 billion, and reputation often low or non-publicly traded companies. Such companies have driven development of Germany's export and economy, and become the major part of economic growth in Germany. The study found that they have seven business strategies, including business goals, marketing strategies, customer relationships, competitive advantage, core technology, corporate culture, and the leaders. In order to let enterprises make sustainable development and get rid of price competition. Taiwan's SMEs need core competitiveness, and use strategy of "Hidden Champions". We get six conclusions, include corporate governance instead of family governance, retention of employee plan, product improvement instead of cost reduction, non-public trade, maintain the optimal scale for SMEs. Those conclusions can become the strategies of this company and also provide to similar Taiwan SMEs.

Abstract: Strides into the 21st century, people are even more relying on the technology, this especially reflected on the information storage demand, example: desktop computer, NB, game, digital camera, internet network, DVD, MP3, information processor, PDA, handsets and soon has shown the importance of data storage. Among all hard disk takes the leading in data storage. But compare to personal computer, the existence of hard disk does not create a deep impression to many people. But its influence is undisputable, although it is not widely spread. In the past 10 years, although hard disc industry has experienced the merger and acquisition exercise, as well as the strength change, but the industry competition has never changed.Following the tide of consumer attitude and change of user’s type, Hard disk industry response to the change accordingly. Hard disk has encountered a battling situation in the beginning of year 2000 due to the Y2K issue which weakeness the PC market and also the PC manufacturing cycle. As such, this has resulted in many HDD manufacturers started to switch the target by developed and penetrated intothe new micro hard disk market, which caused a great stir. Hard disk manufacturer had officially launched a new technology in year 2006 called as PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording), which gave a faster and bigger impact to the flash drive memory market, this has naturally resulted in a competition among the same industry. But it raised to our query, is flash drive memory neglected the change of external environment and consumer behavior? For engineering companies, main business items (including building engineering, mechanical & electrical engineering, special facility system engineering and large public infrastructure engineering) are based on project management and execute project design, construction, supervision…etc. Because of the different environments in each project, organization, technique and market, it comes harder to set up, extend and duplicate a project engineering team than to train a manufacture management team. Especially, it’s under an open and competitive direction. The top managers of engineering companies need to promote their competition by SISP (Strategy Information System Planning). The first stage is the natural manager’s method, Top down by KKD Japanese style (Kan-ji: Intuition, Kei-ken: Experience, Dai-tan: Courage), then the second stage is to the engineering teams, bottom up’s QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery), the basic mode of project management, and the last stage is to proceed to transform the team’s organization by input SIS (Strategy Information System) and becomes the core competitiveness of enterprise business management. This study considers three factors of how Project Management succeed, the ability to organize, the ability to operate and the ability to strategic, as research’s main idea. To confer the mode of companies division and run between fix regular organization and flexible task organization. We use the information system of computer authority permissions and adjustments to give the best power distribution between centralized model and dispersion model. Then we adjust the mode to the most benefits and the most flexible, and then use the name of article and specification to assign a labor & material code and stipulate forms and knowledge database as a platform of controlling operation cost and integrating technique resources. Finally, we make use of real time information platform and performance forecasted as a risk control tool and strategy modified tool for team leaders. Our research methodology combines literature analysis and observation of engineering expert’s tacit knowledge, which is formalized as explicit knowledge. To push company management by SIS and accomplish the platform’s fundamental build can strengthen not only the company’s organization but management about 80% activities. However, the remaining 20% critical effectiveness activities will bring out from manager’s decision points. These could serve as a secret weapon to defeat competitors in practics. Main conclusions of this study are: First, the companies need to institutionalize e-flow and set up MIS (Management Information System), use computer system plan different authorization in each project control. Promote organizational operations can reach to quality control. Second, the companies need to use regular code system and database system to standardize KM (Knowledge Management) and DMS (Document Management System). Furthermore, engineering quality control, site safety, designed criteria and engineering standard operating will make benefit on cost control. Third, the companies need to make real time BPM (Business Performance Management) and set up DSS (Decision Support System), human resources assignment, vendor’s progress control and the performance index of customer demands. It will be beneficial to delivery control via real time information provider. These three factors are the research priorities to drive engineering companies SIS. Chunghwa Post underwent a transformation in 2003 from a government organization to a government-owned corporation. The focus of the study is on how Chunghwa Post responded to the fierce competition from the EMS market and reinforced its competitiveness. The study adopted competitive strategy method to analyze the external opportunity and threat, as well as the internal strength and weakness of A postal company in the EMS market, concluding its competitive advantage to map out the directions for future development. The scope of the research was within the EMS market and the corresponding competing strategies of A postal company. The competitive strategy method was used to analyze the competitive advantage of A postal company. The literature review included international EMS market overview, domestic EMS industry situation, competitive strategy analysis, and domestic EMS market SWOT analysis. Case study method was also applied, where a questionnaire, designed according to the manipulated structure and variables, was tested among the employees of A postal company. The statistical software SPSS helped analyze the data and execute the following analysis. To understand the sample structure, the data were first conducted descriptive analysis that included frequency distribution, percentage, average, and standard deviation. Percentage method, chi-square test, and regression analysis were adopted to generate further insights. According to the research result, the postal employees, no matter male or female, demonstrated a consenting rate of less than 0.5 towards two variables, innovation and implementation capacity as well as organizational flexibility and efficiency, while the rate was about 0.6 in terms of complete customer service, delivery technical capacity, external bargaining power, and crucial technology. It revealed that those employees, having long considered their company as a government organization, behaved in a conservative and non-productive way without innovative thinking and motivation for self-improvement, which made it difficult to provide customers with flexible and effective service. Only by forming an innovative team, establishing a BCG matrix and marketing strategies, appropriately manage human resources, and pay attention to the destructive innovation effects and the rise of green logistics, so that the new stream of enterprise culture could help correct the employees’ conservative concepts, cultivate innovative thinking, and further enhance A postal company’s competitiveness in the EMS market. Speaking of the development of fitness equipment industry in Taiwan, it has developed from the initial stage of OEM/ODM learning for US and EU brand companies in 1980s to the stage of OBM marketing own brand products in the early 21 century, then has become one of the high technology and promising industries with enhanced 3C (computer, communication and consumer devices) technologies to meet the needs of modern cloud technologies in 2015. Global fitness equipment industry nowadays has become an oligopoly market dominated by the 5 leading companies (ICON, LIFE, Company J, Technogym, Precor), and will continue moving forward the directions of compatible design with the 3C products and the advanced technologies. This thesis chooses Company J, the third of the world, as the case study to analyze and infer the development trend and the market competitiveness of fitness equipment industry by means of SWOT analysis, Porter 5 forces analyses and competitiveness analysis, then offer some critical management strategies for survival in the industry. Due to gradually rising power of Asia market like China, the key trends of the industry are the continual development and pricing competition in OPP and BRICS light commercial markets, therefore the multifunctional design for the equipment will be the progressive direction which is more electronic console operations and compatible usage together with the 3C products. A fierce pricing competition will still continue in home products market. Furthermore, a differentiated innovation and marketing position strategies will still be the development direction in commercial products market. The market demand for the medical related equipment is increasing, so the products design would be requested toward more strict safety regulatory, much higher comfortable and energy saving usage. The main management strategies for survival in the industry should continually progress a global international marketing and innovative development competitiveness, then also to develop an efficient and executable global business management system and to build a swift and efficient NPD team, and to expand having a VAVE analysis system and cost saving improvement power. Abstract Considering Taiwanese businessman has recently turned to invest in Vietnam, the main purpose of the research is to discuss the competitive analysis of the furniture industry in Vietnam. It first introduces the investment environment in Vietnam and the advantage and disadvantage for furniture firms. Then this study explores the case study of two representative companies and conducts competitive analysis on the furniture industry in Vietnam. It further confirms our analysis by in-depth interview with the professional senior in the furniture industry. The result of the overall investment environment in Vietnam suggests several advantages including low-cost, youthful and high quality labor, steady policy, and similar culture with China. There also find several disadvantages which include low efficiency in administration, least-developed infrastructure, non-transparent law and decree, and unstable policy and regulation. It also has some limitations for foreign investment. This thesis addresses some new problems include inflation and labor strikes. The research also uses Porter’s framework to analysis the competitiveness of the furniture manufacturing industry. Firstly, the entry obstacles for the potential entrants include labor intensiveness, the reliability on the advantages of labor cost, necessary land input and capital turnover needs. Therefore, there exist some entry obstacles. The marketing is also difficult for a new entrant to build up their brand awareness and sell their products to Europe market. Secondly, the determinant of competition strength is found to be related to low growth in the furniture industry, difficult access to the material, and low margin. Thirdly, the determinant of suppliers is associated with significant clustering effects. Therefore, it is observed that firms tend to integrate the upstream and downstream in order to control the material quality. Fourthly, the determinant of alternative threat is found that a new trend of the industry is to use other material such as plastic material, metal material, and customer can highly accept designed alternative materials. Finally, very limited bargaining power for the customers is found for most Taiwan OEM companies. Furthermore, a case study on two representative firms and in-depth interview are presented in this thesis. Most of the research results have been confirmed by in-depth interview.

Since 2008, due the financial tsunami crisis, there is a drastic decline in demands for export orders. Like many companies, Taiwan’s textile post processing manufacturers faces a gradual decline in gross margin. To combat this crisis, many weaving and dyeing factories sold its machinery and scale down its operation. There are many of textile-related small to medium size companies face either closure or offshoring. Some factories even create their own brand to deplete its existing stocks and hopes of higher profit margin will cover the business operation costs. However, when a company switches from OEM to having its own brand, it creates a conflict of interest with its existing customers. This may very well result of losing existing customers to offshoring manufacture who have lower labor costs advantage. Many studies cover the effects and result of switching from OEM to own branding; however, not many studies discuss its business model or offshoring to single country advantages. Management model for Taiwan could tranforme into new business model of intermidary across the glob and reciving purchase order. This study will investiage the value net of company C’s business model to determine textile post processing manfutatures in choosing location for the market competitiveness. In the past studies, companies often determines its offshoring entery strategy by evalueating its sales growth and markets share in the particular country. C company is a small to medium sized textile post proccessing manufacturer. At the beginning period, it has many competitive advantage as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufactures). In time, the company’s research and design capability has gorwn into ODM (Original design Manufactures). Currently, company has adopt the new business model of multi-nationals procurements as well multi-national sub-processing method. Through its own manufacturing process and quality control, Company C extend its support and skillset to sub-processing manufactures in different countries. This create the maximum profit in manufacturing model and thus change its business model. Through value net model, textile post processing manufacturers needs to integrate and innovate at each stage when selecting countries for sub-processing manufactures to combat the change in international economy and consumer demand. International competition is omnipresent, with the market and customers’ demand constaly changing, Taiwan's traditional industries must adopt and adjust along with the changes as well as continuously adjust its core competitiveness. Using company C’s as example, this study may provide many traditional industries the methods for transformation their business model. As well as elevate Taiwan into the world’s core industry chain.
