EoE incidence and prevalence is increasing rapidly. EoE Incidence peaks in late childhood and healthcare utilisation amongst children with EoE is high. This study provides the first known research into carer experiences and perspectives on healthcare utilisation, including complementary medicine (CM) use, treatment burden, and impact on health-related quality of life (HR

Abstract:
Iron-substituted manganese superoxide dismutase (Fe(Mn)SOD) was produced using an in vivo preparation method. It’s an inactive enzyme in catalyzing superoxide radical dismutation owing to the mis-incorporation of Fe in the active site evolved to use Mn. To investigate the possible toxicity of human Fe(Mn)SOD proposed by Yamakura, we studied the properties of Fe(Mn)SOD upon H2O2 treatment and compared to that of FeSOD. It’s found that the responses to H2O2 treatment were different, including the changes of optical spectra, variations of active site coordination and secondary structures. Fe3+ re

Abstract:
Background: Hypnotherapy has shown promise in managing symptoms related to cancer treatment, yet its integration in supportive cancer care remains limited. There is a lack of research exploring perceptions of hypnotherapy of people with cancer and healthcare professionals, particularly in the Australian context. Aim: This mixed methods study aimed to explore perceptions of hypnotherapy in cancer care from the perspectives of both patients and healthcare professionals. Methodology: A convergent mixed methods design was employed. Qualitative semi-structured interviews were conducted with cancer

The specific research work described in this thesis forms part of a much larger research project that was funded by the Technology Programme of the UK Government. This larger project considered improving the design and efficiency of membrane bioreactor (MBR) plant by using modelling, simulation and laboratory methods. This research work uses phenomenological mechanistic models based on MBR filtration and biochemical processes to measure the effectiveness of alternative behavioural models based upon input-output system identification methods. Both model types are calibrated and validated using

Abstract:
Background: Interest in alternatives to hormone therapy (HT) for menopausal symptoms increased following its association with serious health risks. In terms of phytotherapeutic interventions, while traditional use supports a range of herbs for treating menopausal symptoms, evidence from rigorous scientific trials is limited, and has largely focused on the phytoestrogenic plants. Because of some safety concerns over long-term use of isoflavones, the present study focused on two non-estrogenic herbs, Hypericum perforatum and Vitex agnus-castus, also employed in this context in the Anglo-Americ
