AbstractWork-life integration is often considered the stuff of myth, especially for women in academia. The inherent conflict between an identity as a mother or parent and that as a working professional effectively limits diversity efforts in STEM. Addressing this conflict is therefore crucial to creating a more inclusive academic environment. Work-life integration has two fundamental components—structural and cultural. Workplace polices need to enable attainment of work and life goals; at the same time, the work culture is important in assuring individuals take advantage of existing policies.

Abstract:
This paper summarizes results of a study conducted to minimize total cost of ownership of multistage air compressors by integrating it with compact and efficient off-the-shelf organic rankine power cycle units to recover low grade waste heat from inter-stage coolers with subsequent conversion to power. The paper also highlights challenges faced by the integration and provides guidance for future cost and technology targets for key components to make it a commercial scale reality. Abstract:
In the current era of the knowledge-based economy, the mobility of intellectual capital through international students is very significant. Immigration policies establish instruments for the organization and management of human resources to attract qualified workers and international students in a context of global competitiveness. Currently, Asian countries have gained relevance in attracting human resources. In Japan, the main component influencing the dynamics of international migration flows is the transnational labor market for skilled human resources, as well as the mechanisms that shape

Abstract:
This Working Paper assesses the impact on investment of a reduction in corporate taxes and the impact on employment, labor formality, and growth of a reduction in non-wage labor costs in Colombia. First, and following Hall and Jorgensen (1967), we estimate an investment function, which depends on the user cost of capital, one of whose determinants is the corporate tax rate. Our estimations suggest that a reduction of the corporate tax rate from 33 to 23 percent--as originally envisioned by the government in early 2012, but finally not included in the reform submitted to Congress--has very diff

Abstract:
Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) play a role of central importance in international trade and investment flows. ECAs are a vital part of the infrastructure supporting trade and have often been considered to be a critical component in a nation's export-led growth strategy. The basic role of an ECA is to support and encourage exports and outward investment by insuring international trade and investment transactions and, in some cases, providing finance directly. One of the most common and most challenging problems that ECAs face is what to do about small exporters. Small exporters are a significant
