Abstract:
Abstract Calcium alginate-based carbon composite (CAC) adsorbents have been proved to effectively remove total organic acid anions as HSS anions, metal ions, and organic degraded products from lean methyldiethanolamine (MDEA solvents) used as solvent in natural gas sweetening unit. During the material developmental phase, the CAC adsorbent was synthesized and utilized to remove various contaminants, including heat stable salts (HSS), organic degraded products, and heavy metal ions from lean MDEA using a lab-scale adsorption setup. Based on the results, a "demo-scale" fixed bed adsorption unit

Abstract:
The performance of the adsorption cooling system using the zeolite 13X/CaCl2 composite adsorbent was studied using a numerical simulation. The novel zeolite 13X/CaCl2 composite adsorbent with superior adsorption properties was developed in previous studies [11]. It has high equilibrium water uptake of 0.404 g/g between 25°C and 100°C under 870Pa. The system specific cooling power (SCP) and coefficient of performance (COP) were successfully predicted for different operation parameters. The simulated COP with the composite adsorbent is 0.76, which is 81% higher than a system using pure zeolite 1

Abstract:
Activated Carbon-Fe3O4 composites were synthesized using co-precipitation method and used in batch experiments to adsorb Congo red dyes. The effect of adsorbent dosage, temperature and initial dye concentration was investigated. Increase in the adsorbent dosage resulted in the increase of dye adsorption capacity and the optimum dose was found to be 2 g/L. Increase in temperature had slightly negative impact on the adsorption which indicated the exhothermic nature of the adsorption process. Initial dye concentration also had significant impact on the adsorption process as the adsorption capacit

Abstract:
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the main greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming. CO2 concentration is increasing around the world day by day. It is estimated that CO2 concentration will be approximately 570 ppm in 2100. Many carbon capture and storage techniques have been developed to reduce CO2 emission. Adsorption with using low-cost solid adsorbents is a promising CO2 capture technique. In this study, low-cost biochar/slag composites were evaluated as a CO2 adsorbent. Firstly, neat slag was modified with different concentrations of HCl solution (0.25, 0.50, 1.00, 3.00 and 5.00 M
