Abstract:
Treatment of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system with external fixation methods has been practiced for a long time and is deservedly considered one of the most effective in the arsenal of orthopedic traumatologists. For the first time, transosseous osteosynthesis with the simplest apparatus was used in 1629 by Fabricius Hildanus. A qualitatively new stage in the development of transosseous osteosynthesis is observed at the beginning of this century. Since the 1950s, the method of extrafocal compression-distraction osteosynthesis has been widely used in world practice and is con

The aim of the study was to determine the significance of extrafocal osteosynthesis in the treatment of patients with dischondroplasy as well as the affect of distraction on chondromatosis foci. In 59 patients, age 6-17, extrafocal osteosynthesis was applied for correction of shortening and deformity of forearm (11), humerus (12), lower extremities (36). Three forms of dischondroplasy were distinguished: dysplastic, tumorlike, mixed. The technique of distraction osteosynthesis was changed depending upon the dischondroplasy form. Good results were achieved in 89% of patients. Histologic examina

In an experiment in low-mountain conditions, the features of changes in the structure of bone tissue in the zone of a gunshot fracture of the shank diaphysis were studied. It was revealed that when using the compression-distraction method according to G.A. Ilizarov, a pronounced angiogenic effect is observed, an improvement in reparative processes. The results obtained confirm the need to use the method of extrafocal compression-distraction osteosynthesis to accelerate the healing of gunshot fractures of tubular bones.

Abstract:
In the treatment of fractures of long tubular spines, transosseous compression-distraction osteosynthesis (TCDO) has become widespread in recent years. We would like to share our own experience of using this method in the conditions of the Central District Hospital. We observed 64 people with fresh fractures of long bones, who underwent CHKDO in the trauma department of the Central District Hospital. Most of them were people of the most working age - from 14 to 60 years old.
