<p>Wet gas compression technology is of great value to the oil and gas industry for boosting of unprocessed well stream and to reduce investment costs related to equipment and personnel. The growing interest in wet gas compression leads to a general request for accurate performance calculation procedures and proper measurement techniques for multiphase flow metering in compressors. An impeller rig for examination of single-phase and multiphase performance and aerodynamic stability is under construction at the test facility at NTNU. During hot days, gas turbine power output deteriorates significantly. Among various means to augment gas turbine output, inlet air fog cooling is considered as the simplest and most costeffective method. During fog cooling, water is atomized to micro-scaled droplets and introduced into the inlet airflow. In addition to cooling the inlet air, overspray can further enhance output power by intercooling the compressor. However, there are concerns that the water droplets might damage the compressor blades and increased mass might cause potential compressor operation instability due to reduced

A new process of combining gas injection with compression moulding was developed and studied in this research work. The process is called Gas Assisted Compression Moulding (or GasComp). The principle is based on the injection of nitrogen gas during a conventional compression moulding cycle. The flow of the material due to the compressive force of the press is assisted by the injection of gas into the centre of the molten material. The gas assists in the flow by coring out the material, reducing the weight by up to 45 percent and increasing the dimensional stability of the component. Novel glas

The introduction of alternative fuels such as natural gas is likely to occur at an increasing rate. The dual-fuel concept allows these low cetane number fuels to be used in compression-ignition (CI, diesel) type engines. Most CI engine conversions have pre-mixed the alternative fuel with air in the intake manifold while retaining diesel injection into the cylinder for ignition. The advantage is that it is simple for practical adaptation; the disadvantage is that good substitution levels are only obtained at midload. A better solution is to inject both the alternative and diesel fuels directly

Предельное давление до которого можно сжать газ, определяется кривой его плавления. Abstract:

This master thesis considers three subtasks related to transient operation of wet gas compressors.HYSYS Dynamics is used to establish a dynamic simulation model in the first subtask. The model is designed to predict transient behavior of the compressor test facility at NTNU during dry and wet gas trip scenarios. Its steady state performance has been validated against test data. The deviation of polytropic head and suction volume flow is less than 1% for all test points but one.Dry and wet gas model performance during trip is validated in the second subtask. The deviation is evaluated in terms

The development of wet gas compressors for installation subsea is key to increase the recovery of oil and gas from the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Safe operation of the compressor depends on understanding of how wet gas affects the behavior of the machine. The compressor operating range is limited by stall and surge, and it is therefore particularly important to determine how liquid will affect the inception of these phenomena. Measuring pressure transients within the compressor or in the inlet and discharge pipe are widely used in experimental investigation of stall and surge. Spectral analy

Abstract:
Three testing methods are proposed to characterize properties of fuel cell materials that affect the mechanical durability of proton exchange membranes (PEMs). The first two methods involved measuring the in-plane biaxial strength of PEMs and the biaxial hygrothermal stresses that occur in PEMs during hygrothermal cycles. The third method investigated the nonuniform thickness and compressibility of gas diffusion media which can lead to concentrated compressive stresses in the PEM in the through-plane direction. Subsea wet gas compression without preliminary separation give an opportunity to develop mature and remote gas/condensate field. Predicting wet gas compressor performance is important to develop those fields. Currently there is no standard exist for wet gas compression performance calculation (Hundseid et al., 2008). The current standards (ISO 5389:2005) exist only for dry gas by utilizing Schultz method. In wet gas compression, fluid properties are changing as fluid being compressed. Schultz method may not be accurate to be applied in wet gas compression since it uses average fluid propertie

Wet gas compression and subsea compression technology has gained increased focus in the recent years. With aging fields on the Norwegian continental shelf and new discoveries in arctic regions, subsea compression could boost aging gas fields and make remote fields profitable where extraction is difficult. Wet-gas compression could reduce the need for expensive scrubbers and separators and this would be a major economic enhancement to subsea processing. There is currently no standard for wet gas compression as the ASME PTC 10 [1] offers no guidance on this. The complex phenomena encountered in
