Abstract:
The growth of games as a fast growing industry in Indonesia has made online gaming business lines increasingly developed, so that a business market for buying and selling virtual goods (virtual items in games) is formed in several virtual goods marketplaces such as itemku.com. The formation of the business market on the virtual goods marketplace has created various perceptions to support their gaming activities. This study uses qualitative methods, observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. The theory used is perception. This study will discuss how variables such as sensation, anticipation and interpretation are formed from gamers about how microtransactions are carried out and also associated with CMC (Computer Mediated Communcations) to find out how communication patterns occur in these mictrotransactions. As a result, the majority of gamers have the same perception of microtransactions. Gamers who make virtual goods transactions aim to get satisfaction as well as actualization, virtual items that have more value in the game also trigger to perform microtransactions as part of the pride, and factor of self-existence when doing gaming activities using CMC.

Abstract:
Modern communication and computer systems require rapid (Gbps), efficient and large bandwidth data transfers. Agressive scaling of digital integrated systems allow buses and communication controller circuits to be integrated with the microprocessor on the same chip. The Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) protocol handles all communcation between the central processing unit (CPU) and hardware devices. PCIe buses require efficient clock data recovery circuits (CDR) to recover clock signals embedded in data during transmission. This paper describes the theoretical modeling and simulation of a phase-locked loop (PLL) used in a CDR circuit. A simple PLL architecture for a 5 GHz CDR circuit is proposed and elaborated in this work. Simulations were carried out using a Hardware Description Language, Verilog-AMS. The effect of jitter on the proposed design is also simulated and evaluated in this work. It was found that the proposed design is robust against both input and VCO jitter.ABSTRAK: Sistem komunikasi dan komputer moden memerlukan pemindahan data yang cekap (Gbps), dan bandwidth yang besar.

Demirci, Ali. "Performance Evaluation Of Flexray Networks For In-vehicle Communcation." Master's thesis, METU, 2009. http://etd.lib.metu.edu.tr/upload/12611239/index.pdf.

Abstract:
The increasing use of electronic components in today&rsquo
s automobiles demands more powerful in-vehicle network communication protocols. FlexRay protocol, which is expected be the de-facto standard in the near future, is a deterministic, fault tolerant and fast protocol designed for in vehicle communication. In the near future, safety critical X-by-Wire applications will be available in the automobiles and FlexRay networks can be used to provide communication for the Electronic Control Units (ECUs) that perform related functions of X-by-Wire applications. In this thesis the performance of the FlexRay networks with various communication scenarios is evaluated in a real time environment and the results are presented. Communication scenarios investigate both static and dynamic segment of the FlexRay and allow evaluating the capabilities of the protocol. Several performance metrics such as utilization, static slot allocation, jitter are defined for the evaluation of the results.

Abstract:
Over the past three decades, agricultural machinery has made the transition from purely mechanical systems to hybrid machines, reliant on both mechanical and electronic systems. A this transformation continues, the most modern agricultural machinery uses networked systems that require a network connection to function to their full potential. In rural areas, providing this network connection has proven difficult. Obstacles, distance from access points, and incomplete coverage of cellular connection are all challenges to be overcome. “Off the shelf” commercial-grade Wi-Fi equipment, including many products from Ubiquiti like the Bullet M2 transceiver and the PowerBeam point-to-point linking system, as well as antennas by Terrawave, Crane, and Hawking, were installed in a purpose-built system which could be implemented on a production farm. This system consisted of a tower-mounted access point which used an antenna with a 65o beamwidth, and the test included distances up to 1150 meters in an agricultural setting with corn and soybeans. Some sensors were stationary and the other platform was a tractor following a path around the farm with both 8dBi and 15dBi gain antennas. Through all tests, throughput never dropped below 5 Mb/s, and the latency of successful connections never exceeded 20ms. Packets were rarely dropped and never accounted for a significant portion of all packet transmission attempts. Environmental effects like immediate precipitation, crop heights, recent rainfall, and ambient temperature had little or no effect on wireless network characteristics. As a result, it was proven that as long as line-of-sight was maintained, reliable wireless connectivity could be achieved despite varying conditions using microwave radiation. Network throughput was marginally affected by the change in free space path loss due to increased distance between the access point and the client, as well as travel by the mobile client outside the beamwidth of the access point. By enabling this coverage, it is hoped that the implementation of new agricultural technology utilizing a live network connection will progress more rapidly.
