A few older devices having historical significance are also discussed.By knowing where the computer industry is currently and seeing where it has been hardware-wise, it should be possible to project the direction in which the computer industry is headed. People in the computer profession and people that use computers need to be educated about peripheral devices so that they may make informed decisions on which equipment to acquire and in planning for the future. This thesis should be a valuable aid in this process. It well known that severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus also can spread when a person touches a surface or an object contaminated with infectious droplets and then touches his or her mouth, nose, or eye(s). In the present study, the acrylonitrile-cutadiene-styrene (ABS), having a very wide range of applications, such as telephone handsets computer and other office equipment housings, etc, was successfully coated silver as antibacterial materials. This antibacterial high tech product is still located in the introductory stage now. It is usually shorter in life cycle and lack the paragon for marketers to follow. Marketing researches for high tech product would be much more difficult than those of general products. The research framework investigates the relationships between the purchase decision of computer peripheral equipment coated by nano silver film as antibacterial and demographic characteristics, consumer knowledge and environment variables. A convenient sampling method was used to select respondents. 450 questionnaires were distributed. Of the 450 questionnaires, 410 responses were received and 69 responses were incomplete, respectively. The remaining 341 valid and complete questionnaires were used for the quantitative analysis. It represents a useable response rate of 83.2%. Descriptive, reliability, cross, ANOVA analyses were used to test the hypotheses. There are important conclusions drew by this study that follows： 1. There are significant differences between the computer peripheral equipment product antibacterial processing purchase wish and the year obtained, the family gross income and the education level. 2. The consumers’ computer peripheral equipment product antibacterial processing purchase wish purchase decision was significantly positive affected by the new technology receptivity, the personality special characteristic, the product knowledge and the environment variable (associates and society support), the risk manner, the promoted activity and other attributes (brand or manufacture). 3. Using the new technology receptivity, the social support and associates’ opinions as the variables of regression equation to forecast purchase wish express as: The purchase wish = .547× the new technology receptivity +.186×social supports +.109× the associates’ opinions.

Due to various factors and conditions, Taiwan became an important producer of computers and peripheral equipment in the world. In recent years, both the fierce competition in market environmentand and the rise of smart phones and mobile devices make the technical development of computers much more difficult than the past years. Thus, the firms are facing the challenge of operating and technology strategies. Besides, because of the slow economic recovery in recent years, the number of firms of computers and peripheral equipment manufacturers has negative growth in Taiwan. Under such circumstances, improving operational efficiency and use of resources becomes very important. The genuine reasons of excellent performance for enterprise are worth exploring. The study is based on data envelopment analysis (DEA) to discuss the management performance of the computer and peripheral equipment manufacturers in Taiwan during 2013 and window analysis is used to evaluate efficiency and stabilization. The results showed that five of the selected 16 companies are inefficient in CCR model and two are inefficient in BCC model. Reference group analysis shows that Advantech is the benchmark companies among the companies. Sensitivity analysis shows the operating cost and revenue values are the most effective variable to the efficiency. Cross efficiency measure shows Elitegroup Computer is the most efficient enterprise. Finally, the magnitude of changes in the level and efficiency value of each enterprise in five years are obtained by the efficiency of the mean, variance, the whole distance from the field and range using window analysis.

Since the 1997 Asian financial crisis, most of the nations efforts to promote corporate governance. In recent years, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) considers corporate governance evaluation system and the evaluation result is the performance of corporate governance to enable enterprises cognitive the importance of corporate governance, so as to enhance information transparency of companies, improve corporate responsibility and achieve sustainable development. The core of corporate governance is to regulate the shareholders meetings and the board of directors, the Board is the company's highest decision-making unit, and the board members are elected by shareholders. However, different backgrounds of investors with different requirements for corporate governance, thus tend to find directors who can be satisfied with the exercise of power for policy purposes, even more impact on the company's operations and corporate governance, therefore, ownership structure may affect the properties of the composition of the board.The responsibilities of the Board is to supervise and improve the operation of the enterprise, agency relationship between shareholders and managers make the board as a last line of defense to prevent company malpractice and safeguard the interests of shareholders. This study examines the relation of ownership structure and board composition of 107 computers and peripheral equipment industry firms listed on the stock exchange market in Taiwan. We use regression analysis to verify the impact of relationship between ownership structure and composition of the Board of Directors. The results showed that the ownership structure does affect the composition of the board, therefore, we hope the results of this study provide a reference for managers in decision-making, in order to sound corporate governance.

In recent years, the global society has increasingly paid attention to the concept of sustainable development. Meanwhile, enterprises engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as part of core strategies for sustainable development. Through writing CSR reports, the degree of involvement in CSR activities is able to be found and investigated by the public. To evaluate the degree of involvement in CSR, some organizations release CSR-related indices as the CSR evaluation criteria for the constituents of stock indices. Therefore, the degree of CSR involvement of the constituent stocks selected according to the index evaluation criteria is reasonably convinced and can be fairly examined about the impact of CSR on the operating performance. Accordingly, the objectives of this study is to analyze the operating performance of firms in the Taiwan computer and peripheral equipment manufacturing industry and to examine the possible factors influencing operating performance. The sample under investigation is 105 enterprises listed in Taiwan during the period of the second quarter of 2015 to the first quarter of 2018. After the operating-efficiency values of the firms are evaluated through DEA and relevant statistical tests, the possible factors influencing the operating efficiency are observed through Tobit regression analysis. The results of study show that operating efficiency in enterprises incorporated into the CSR index is significantly higher than those not included in the indices. Moreover, the more included by in a variety of CSR indices, the higher the operating efficiency the enterprise perform. The result above shows that enterprise which is included in CSR index has better operating performance. In addition, the study also find that factors of total asset turnover, the number of board members, shareholding ratio of director and supervisors, growth rate of total assets, and the dummy variable of listed or OTC firms have significant effect on operating performance.

Foreign investment has become an important trend in the global economy. When numerous enterprises begin to set up subsidiaries in foreign countries, it is critical to investigate whether these companies constantly invest in these subsidiaries. However, little literature has been conducted in this field, and thus this study aims to explore the factors influencing the companies’ foreign commitments. Based on the resourced-based view, ownership advantages and location advantages perspectives, this research examine the effects of enterprise’s resources factor (local experience, R&D capability and marketing capability) and local environmental factors (local market potential and local investment risks) on foreign commitments. This study utilities public traded companies of computer and peripheral equipment industry as the research target. The data contains 146 valid samples, which are collected from companies’ foreign investments to their subsidiaries in 2007. We utilize description analysis and multiple-regression analysis to investigate this topic. The result indicates that: (1)The deeper the local experience of this subsidiary, the higher the foreign commitments have been invested to this subsidiary; (2)The R&D capability of this company has no effect on its foreign commitments; (3)The marketing capability of this company has no effect on its foreign commitments; (4)The higher the local market potential, the higher the foreign commitments of this company have been invested to this subsidiary; (5)The local investment risks do not affect the company’s foreign commitments. Finally, this research concludes with research, managerial implications and the research suggestions.

The past literatures pointed out that the sound corporate governance mechanisms and the devoting in corporate society responsibility would have the significantly influences toward the companies’ performances and their idiosyncratic risks. This thesis applies the data of stock-listed companies from the computer and peripheral equipment industry in Taiwan in 2015 for empirical research. The main findings are as follows: 1. The scale of board of directors, the component stocks of the Corporate Social Responsibility Index and companies’ Tobin's Q Ratios would have the positive effects to the companies’ performances. These results imply that when the company can be well supervised by the board of directors, devotes itself to conservation or other society responsibility activities, the company performances would be promoted. 2. When a company belongs to the component stocks of the Corporate Social Responsibility Index, the idiosyncratic risk can also be decreased significantly in terms of statistics. This means when a company devotes its attention to corporate social responsibility, the idiosyncratic risk would be controlled when any possible negative event happens to it.

This paper presents the suppression effects of electromagnetic waves radiated from computer peripheral equipments. In general, some of the most difficult and frustrating problems faced by design engineer concern elimination of noise from their circuits or systems. However, solutions to noise problems are found by trial and error with little understanding of mechanisms which is involved. In this paper we will present the techniques which are useful for decreasing interference. The approach used in the paper covers the three primary means of noise control such as grounding, shielding, filtering techniques. Decisions on which techniques should be used are thing that must be determined by the system design engineer. Finally, the result of these experiments shows that electromagnetic radiation from computer peripheral equipments can be effectively suppressed by such techniques and it was expected that they would provide having 6dB improvement or greater.

This case study attempts to study an POS original equipment manufacturer suffering from reduction in sales revenue, continuous deficit and stagnant staff mobility. Whereas manufacturers running similar business enjoy continuous growth. Hence, enhancing operating performance is the crucial agenda of the target subject manufacturer. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) is a quantifiable corporate performance management system, ensuring staff effort is consistent with the cooperate development goal. The focus is to maximize the drive in key performance. Assessing the cooperate performance becomes more objective with a clearly defined goal. Procedure of inducting KPI: (1)Confirming management strategies and develop them into departmental goals; (2)Adjusting staff salary structure so as to normalize any low staff salary; (3)Adjusting organization system so that there is smoother department operation; (4)Communicating the new system through seminars and workshops so as to convey the goals of the new system; (5)Induction of KPI, and KPI performance assessment so as to improve cooperate performance. (6) Reviewing effectiveness of induction of KPI and adjusting actions accordingly. The following results were achieved after implementing the KPI system: 1.Improved cooperate performance: comparing with the data a year before inducting KPI: (1)Annual sales increase by NT$ 80,267,000as compared with last year. (2)After tax profit increases by NT$ 4,698,000. 2.Improved staff satisfaction from 64% to 88%. 3.As on staff resources: increase in stability of basic level staff (drop-out rate reduces from 6.2% to 2.0%) and after adopting the improved performance measure, 3 incompetent staff were replaced by new staff. This case may indicate that the implementation of KPI effectively enhances cooperate performance of the subject cooperation.

This dissertation describes the development, design, implementation and evaluation of a data
acquisition system, with the main aim of using it for data collection on a laboratory pilot ball
mill. An open-source prototype hardware platform was utilised in the implementation of the
data acquisition function, however, with limitations. An analogue signal conditioning card has
been successfully developed to interface the analogue signals to the dual domain ADC
module. Model-based software development was used to design and develop the algorithms to
control the DAS acquisition process, but with limited capabilities. A GUI application has been
developed and used for the collection and storage of the raw data on the host system. The
DAS prototype was calibrated and collected data successfully through all the channels;
however, the input signal bandwidth was limited to 2Hz.Electrical and Mining Engineering

As the social issues of environmental maintenance and society relationship are given more attention, the government encourages or regulates companies to perform corporate social responsibility (CSR). Meanwhile, many firms takes CSR either as part of operation activities or as part of core strategies for sustainable development. Furthermore, Taiwan Stock Exchange launched the TWSE Corporate Governance 100 Index (CG 100) in 2015 with the goal of encouraging corporations to comply with good governance practices according to the corporate governance evaluation criteria. Through the sample from the listed manufacture of computers and peripheral equipment (MCPE) and the manufacture of other electronic parts and components (MOEPC), this study investigates the relationship between CSR and operation efficiency, and analyzes the impact factors on efficiency. There are 75 firms in the sample with the period during 2013-2016. The methodology and testing methods include data envelopment analysis (DEA), Person correlation coefficients, Tobit regression model, t-test, F-test, and VIF analysis. The result suggests that the four variables of capital size, ratio of stockholding of directors and supervisors, dummy of MCPE versus MOEPC, and dummy of eligibility into CG100 index constituents are the influential factors on efficiency. In addition, the significant and positive value on the dummy of eligibility into CG100 index constituents indicates that the more the firms perform CSR, the more the operation efficiency.
