One of the most fundamental ways of understanding the struggles and delights of an ethnic group is to study the art the group produces. Art –visual, literary, auditory– functions as an expression of the history of the group. Often, what is considered great art in one culture is disparaged in many others. In my thesis, I will be examining how comics function as an expression of simultaneous pride and shame among Ashkenazi Jews, particularly comics created in the 20th century. Perhaps comics do not seem like an obvious expression of Eastern European Judaism. After all, there are far more renowned, and even sophisticated works to look at, such as the whimsical art of Marc Chagall and stately rabbinical paintings of Isidor Kauffman, or even the heady philosophical work of Theodor W. Adorno. “Ashkenazi expression” and “comics” do not seem intuitively connected. This disconnect is precisely why I want to explore the relationship between comics and Ashkenazi Jewry. In addition to many of the most prominent comic creators being Jewish, I posit that there is something inherently yiddish, Jewish, about American comics. The purpose of this essay is not to name individual comic artists in an attempt to prove the Jewishness of the the comic-book industry. Rather, I will explore why Jews of Eastern European descent gravitated toward the comic-book industry in the early to mid 20th century. I posit that American comics acted as an expression of a pride-shame tension found in American Jews of Eastern European descent. To explore this connection, I will first examine the origins of simultaneous Jewish pride and shame by tracing the roots of Eastern European Jewish self-hatred. Next, I will delve into why comics encapsulate this balance of self-deprecation and self-glorification. I will analyze both the nature of the medium itself, and the circumstances grounding the formation of American comics. Ashkenazi Jews, or Jews of Eastern European, specifically German descent, have been at the center of much scholarly literature. Although an extremely small percentage of the world's population, the bulk of Jews are Ashkenazi, as opposed to Sefardic. Much literature has been devoted to Ashkenazi Judaism, as the ethnic division has produced an impressive body of scientific and literary accomplishment. Although the countries from which Ashkenazi Jews originate are diverse, the key words surrounding Ashkenazi discourse are reoccurring. Concepts such as “exile,” “self-hatred,” and “Jewish humor” all arise. Another central concept is Yiddishkeit. Yiddishkeit literally translates to “Jewishness” in none other but the language of Yiddish. Yiddish has been the subject of both outward Ashkenazi expression –there is a great deal of Yiddish literature and art– and scholarly examination. Perhaps most recently, Michael Wex published a book called Born to Kvetch, an in-detail study of the history of Yiddish, and how it embodies Ashkenazi culture. Within this book, a particular theme appears: the theme of simultaneously occuring pride and shame. Jews created Yiddish as a result of the primary culture's rejection. However, after this initial dismissal, great pride emerged out of Yiddish, manifesting itself in rich Yiddish culture. Other scholars have explored the concept of Jewish self-hatred, and the fine line this self-hatred straddles between bona fide self-hatred and isolationist pride. Sander Gilman, who writes extensively about the topic, discusses how language and literature embody this dichotomous tension of pride and shame. While conducting research for the connection between comics and class in 20th century American, I came to the understanding that many of the founders of and participants in the American comic industry were Jewish. I dug up analyses of specific comics/graphic novels (usually Maus) exploring certain Jewish themes in comics, yet I had a hard time finding extensive research asking the question as to why comics and Jews have such a strong connection. In my thesis, I hope to further this question by not only investigating the circumstances surrounding comics that made Jews turn to the industry, but why comics themselves embody Jewish pride and shame. On a much humbler scale, I hope to accomplish what Wex has in Born to Kvetch, a linguistic analysis that provides insight into the greater ethnic group engaging with it. In chapter one, I will establish the pride-shame dichotomy found in Ashkenazi Judaism. I will first explore several biblical passages, including Lamentations, Micah, and Isaiah. By exploring these instances in the tanach, I will try to establish the uniqueness the Jews feel due to their personal and punitive relationship with God. Throughout these passages, we will see the Jews taking pride in the punishment God doles out for them, because such pain is indicative of the Jews' superiority among other nations. Next, I will provide a brief explanation of why I am choosing to focus on the act of conversion in the Medieval time period as an indicator of Jewish pride and shame. In specific, I will focus on infamous Johannes Pfefferkorn, who converted from Judaism to Christianity. Pfefferkorn is the perfect example of a Jew who both detested his Judaism, yet used it to his advantage to speak authoritatively about Judaism to Christians, as his professed textual knowledge gave him clout. Next, I will give an introduction on the connection between Otherness and language, explaining how Hebrew and the Talmud spurred both fascination and disgust toward Jews from their surrounding neighbors. After segueing into the origins of Yiddish as a language created out of exile, I will explain how though Yiddish originated out of spurning, the language became a source of pride of its rejected roots. I will consider the statements of various Yiddish authors, in particular American immigrant Isaac Bashevis Singer. Through both an analysis of Singer's self-reflection of his own life and an analysis of his short story, Gimpel the Fool, I will establish the pride Ashkenazi Judaism takes in its outsider status. Singer himself remarks of the positivity of being lonely and different. His character, Gimpel, is a foolish outcast. Much like the Jews in the biblical passages explored earlier in the chapter, he suffers constant misfortune and mockery, yet his very pain is what lends him favor in God's eyes. In chapter two, I will explore how 20th century American comics reflect the Ashkenazi dichotomy of pride and shame. Much like Yiddish is not a mainstream language, the idea of comics as mainstream art or literature has been greatly contested. I will try to determine which circumstances surrounding 20th century comics, and the comics themselves, connect with this pride-shame tension. I will use Paul Buhle's Jews and American Comics as a frame of reference, since the book often links comics and Yiddish. I will first give a brief history of the American comic-book, starting with the Hogan's Alley comics strip, and exploring up until the mid 20th century. By understanding the working-class origins of comics, we can better understand the low-brow perception of them from the standpoint of both their readers and their critics. I will then explain how American comics in the 20th century contained Jewish themes of pride and shame, despite their characters not being explicitly Jewish. I will more closely explore this idea through an analysis of the character Superman, drawing on both the commentary from the character's creators and the content clues of the character himself. A true foreigner, Superman masks his real identity, his superhuman powers. While his alias is what makes him exceptional, it is also the thing he abhors the most. Will Eisner, a giant in the world of comics, denies inserting Jewish identity in his own characters. However, his assistant, Jules Feiffer, half-jokingly claimed that his character, Denny Colt, featured in Eisner's The Spirit series, is in actuality a secret Jew. Instead of focusing on Colt and The Spirit, I will do a close reading of one of Eisner's other works, A Contract with God, which is an exemplary work of Jewish pride and shame. Contract contains a motif that is similar to that of the biblical passages analyzed in chapter one. The protagonist, Russian-American immigrant Frimme Hershe, has a personal relationship with God that leaves him demoralized and punished. I will then explore the use of visual stereotype in Contract, comparing it to that of Art Spiegelman's Maus, and contrasting it with that of the film Inglorious Basterds. I will argue that through engaging with Jewish visual stereotypes, the first two reveal them as falsehoods. Thus, through an admittance of these shamed images, the comics mock them. The latter film chooses to ignore stereotypes, thus leaving them extant. I will conclude the chapter by positing that Jews have coped with their constant exile through through the self-deprecation of comics. Buhle mentions that comics about Jewish-American gangsters turned into a source of pride, presumably for Ashkenazi American Jews. The trope, hated by others, was lauded by those it was forced upon. Much like Yiddish, comics may have been born out of exclusion, but they came to be a source of pride among Ashkenazi Jews.

L’étude pratique et théorique du compte joint conduit à révéler la singularité de cette institution bancaire mais aussi met-elle en jeu diverses branches du droit conduisant ainsi à l’interférence d’un amalgame de règles imprégnant son ouverture, sa vie et sa clôture. Perçu initialement comme un outil de fraude fiscale, le compte joint, armé d’une souplesse et d’une efficacité indéniables, a quand même survécu à toute accusation et s’est imposé comme un compte ordinaire des particuliers malgré les différentes perturbations dont sa mise en œuvre est susceptible d’engendrer. Marqué par l’influence du droit commun, ce compte puise son fondement dans les dispositions du Code civil. Ainsi est-il basé sur la solidarité active régie par les articles 1197 et suivants dudit code. Essence même du compte joint, cette modalité de l’obligation doit être expressément stipulée. Elle permet à chaque titulaire de faire fonctionner le compte sous sa seule signature même suite au décès d’un autre. Ces textes hérités de la France, mériteraient d'être amendés ou remplacés par de nouvelles dispositions tenant compte des réalités et de normes internationales. A ce jour, le pays n'a adhéré à aucune des conventions internationales en vigueur régissant le droit maritime international. Il est en manque cruel de spécialistes en droit maritime, alors que les différends dans ce domaine ne cessent d'augmenter. Plusieurs zones d'ombre et de non-droit planent sur les questions relatives au droit maritime. en nous référant au droit français avec lequel le droit comorien entretient toujours d'étroites relations, cette thèse a pour objectif principal de revisiter le droit maritime comorien afin d'en déceler les lacunes et les originalités, dans la perspective de pouvoir proposer une réforme d'ensemble du droit maritime comorien
In the Comoros, the maritime law is a discipline which, for a long time, remained in the blur. The internal texts whiwh were supposed to govern the maritime law to the Comoros were almost inknown and not easily findable. These texts inherited France, would deserve to be amended or replaced by new provisions taking account of realities and the international standards. To date, the country adhered to none international conventions in force governing the international maritime law. It is in cruel lack specialists in maritime law, whereas the disagreements in this field do not cease increasing. Several not-right and remote regions plane on the relative questions with the maritime law. While referring to us with the French right with the Comotian Right maintains still and always close relations, this thesis aims main aim to revisit the Comorian maritime law in order to detect the gaps and the originalities of them, with a view to be able to propose an overallreform of the Comorian maritime law

Plaute est l'un des deux seuls auteurs latins dont des pièces entières aient été conservées : le corpus plautinien reste toutefois un ensemble problématique car les manuscrits ne nous ont transmis, sur les 130 circulant sous le nom de Plaute dans l'Antiquité, que vingt-et-une pièces, identifiées au Ier siècle avant J.-C. par le grammairien Varron comme étant caractéristiques de Plaute. Il n'est pas douteux que ces pièces du corpus plautinien soient des comédies car c'est dans le cadre rituel et ludique propre aux comédies que le poète les a fait représenter. Les pièces elles-mêmes évoquent par ailleurs à plusieurs reprises, dans leur texte, cette appartenance au genre de la comoedia. Il peut alors être intéressant de s'interroger sur ce genre théâtral : Plaute le revendique clairement comme cadre d'inscription de ses pièces, mais le genre comique semble jouer dans ses comédies une fonction supplémentaire. Notre travail cherche à interroger la spécificité du rapport de Plaute à la comédie, et met pour cela en lumière les différents moyens par lesquels la comédie plautinienne se désigne comme théâtre et plus spécifiquement comme comédie. La métathéâtralité, ou le fait de se désigner comme théâtre, apparaît alors comme un procédé ludique, qui cherche à jouer avec le spectateur et à susciter le rire. Notre travail vise également à montrer que certaines comédies de Plaute se constituent spécifiquement comme comédies à travers un jeu sur les genres littéraires de l'épopée et de la tragédie : Plaute proposerait ainsi ce que l'on peut appeler une métapoétique du genre comique
Plautus is one of the only two Roman playwrights whose plays have been preserved. However, the Plautinian corpus remains a problematic object : among the 130 plays that circulated under Plautus' name in the Antiquity, only 21 have been transmitted to us – those identified by the grammarian Varro in the 1st century BC as characteristic of Plautus. No doubt that these plays belonging to the Plautinian corpus are comedies, for the poet had them performed as comedies in the ritual context of the ludi. Moreover, the text of the plays themselves, on various occasions, mentions them as belonging the the genre of the comoedia. For those reasons, it can be interesting to question the dramatic genre : Plautus claims it as a framework for his plays, but the comic genre seems to play a further part in his comedies. This work aims at questionning Plautus' relationship to comedy : to do so, it lights up the various means through which Plautinian comedy shows itself as theatre in general, and as comedy in particular. Metatheatre – the explicit self-consciousness of being theatre – thus appears as a ludic process which tries to play with the audience and to trigger laughter. This works also aims to demonstrating that some of Plautus' comedies draw their comic specificity from playing on the epic and tragic genres. Farming is an important industry in the United States. The custom harvesting industry plays a major role in feeding the world. Schemper Harvesting is a family-owned and operated custom harvesting service that employs 20-25 seasonal workers and understanding how to manage a custom harvesting business professionally and efficiently is the key for its success. Today, there is data available through JDLink on John Deere combine performance beginning in year 2012. The purpose of this study is to examine the usefulness of this JDLink data to assess the efficiency of each of Schemper Harvesting’s seven combines, including machine efficiency and different combine operators. The goal is to determine how the data can improve Schemper Harvesting’s overall performance. Statistical methods were used to analyze Schemper Harvesting’s performance. The analysis indicated that fuel is a major expense and there are ways Schemper Harvesting can conserve fuel. This information may prove valuable in being able to operate a combine more efficiently and save money on expenses. Overall, the objective is to improve Schemper Harvesting’s performance, which results in higher profit without sacrificing quality. Precision technology is an added expense to the business. Being able to justify this expense with profit is the answer. Fuel, labor and machinery are the biggest inputs in the custom harvesting business. These costs related to production agriculture have increased the demand for precision agriculture to increase efficiency and profitability. In order to compensate for the investment in technology, it has been demonstrated that it pays for itself. Making correct use of precision technology adds to productivity. With experience, operators improve increasing their overall efficiency. Incentive plans can be utilized through this data. With the availability of data, the costs and benefits of precision technology can be further evaluated. Five of the seven combines are operated by family members and the other two by non-family employees. This study shows that the performance of the non-family employees was below that of family members. The initial assessment for this difference may be attributed to experience because all the family members have been operating combines for most of their lives. This implies that employing people with excellent performance experience records and/or a need to train non-family employees to help them understand the performance expectations at Schemper Harvesting. The results indicate that tracking operational output performance indicators, such as acreage and volume harvest should be completed so that they may be assessed in concert with the technical indicators such as time and fuel use. The study provides the potential benefits of using John Deere’s JDLink data service providing telematics information for its customers with the latest precision agriculture technologies.

This thesis’ purpose is to demonstrate, via the examination of popular youth literature (primarily pulp magazines and comic books) from the 1920s through to the 1950s, that the stories found therein drew their definitions of heroism and villainy from an overarching, nativist fear of outsiders that had existed before the Great War, but intensified afterwards. These depictions were transferred to America’s “new” enemies following both the United States’ entry into the Second World War, as well as the early stages of the Cold War. This transference of nativist imagery left behind the ethnically-based origins of such depictions, showing that racism was not the sole and simple reason for such exaggerated visages. A process of change, in regards to America’s nativist sentiment, so virulent after the First World War, will be explained by way of the popular, inexpensive escapism of the time, the pulp magazines and comic books of the early to mid-twentieth century.

Paradoxal, le rire de l’horreur constitue cependant une donnée majeure de l’expérience théâtrale contemporaine. Il procède d’une mutation du comique qui en vient à exprimer la violence au lieu de l’édulcorer. Sur la scène anglaise d’après l’abolition de la censure (1968), le comique se fait miroir des angoisses de la société et l’horreur, mise en scène de façon de plus en plus naturaliste, fait rire le public tout en suscitant un profond malaise qui interroge la position du spectateur. Mais, dans un mouvement inverse et encore plus dérangeant parce qu’insidieux, l’humour se fait aussi vecteur d’effroi quand l’horreur est tue ou euphémisée, renvoyant alors au public une interrogation profondément éthique sur l’humanité de son rire. Ces mutations esthétiques s’insèrent dans une profonde déstabilisation de la nature même de la comédie et de son idéologie optimiste et humaniste : si certains sous-genres (la farce, la comedy of manners, la city comedy, la parodie) représentent volontiers des situations horribles, la comédie est structurellement défigurée quand elle incorpore une ontologie horrible, quand sa forme n’implique plus le progrès mais l’arbitraire et quand son dénouement se fait explicitement dissonant. L’horreur, défigurant de manière ludique la forme de la comédie, devient un principe poétique qui renouvelle le genre, et en particulier les archétypes comiques inoffensifs pour les rendre terribles. Car c’est à l’aune de la tragédie défaillante que se refonde la comédie et le rire s’y étouffe, lesté d’une conscience du tragique soulignée par la culpabilité inhérente à de nombreux éclats de rire, mais surtout par la dérision des valeurs tragiques et la relativisation de l’absolu dans l’humour. Dans ces conditions, le rire devient un moyen d’accéder à la puissance des émotions tragiques, et la catharsis se redéfinit, s’éloignant de la traditionnelle purification des passions pour devenir une réintensification de leur pouvoir humanisant
Paradoxical as it may be, laughing at horror is a major feature of the contemporary theatrical experience. It emerges from a shift in the comic mode which now expresses violence instead of muffling it. In the aftermath of the abolition of censorship in the United Kingdom (1968), this comic mode has held a mirror up to society’s fears and horror has been staged in a more and more naturalistic way, so as to make the audience laugh while unsettling them, questioning the very position of the spectators. However, in a converse and even more disturbing way, humour has become a way to appal them, subduing horror instead of underlining it and thereby deeply questioning them on the humanity of laughter. Those aesthetic shifts take part in a general process of undermining comedy’s humanistic optimistic ideology; even though some subgenres (namely farce, city comedy, comedy of manners or parody) easily stage horrible scenes, comedy is structurally defaced when it includes an ontology of horror, when its shape does not express progress but arbitrariness and when its ending is explicitly unhappy. Playing on the structure of comedy to the point of defacing it, horror becomes a poetic principle that renews the genre and especially the comic archetypes, making them dreadful instead of harmless. It is indeed tragedy’s failure that becomes the measure of this renewal of comedy, as laughter gets stifled by the tragic consciousness that tinges many laughs with guilt, caused by the way tragic values are ridiculed and tragic absoluteness belittled by humour. In those conditions, laughing turns into a means for the spectator to surreptitiously feel the power of tragic emotions; the experience redefines catharsis, no longer a purification of emotions but a new way to reach their humanising power

Distributed transactions are playing, and will continue to play, an increasingly important role in all forms of electronic business. A key ingredient of a distributed transaction is a commit protocol. We present a novel modelling technique for commit protocols and the environments in which they execute. We devise a new commit protocol X3PC using this modelling technique. We demonstrate that our technique is flexible and formal enough to support automatic verification of behavioural properties of commit protocols, using techniques such as model checking as well as more traditional proof techniques. It is possible to verify many different properties of commit protocols by expressing properties in temporal logics and then performing model checking to verify them. In order to carry out model checking a labelled transition system must must first be generated from our models. We will describe different techniques that allow us to automatically generate transition systems. One such technique is an abstraction scheme that produces small finite transition systems for models with arbitrary numbers of processors. Using this abstraction makes the process of model checking commit protocols with arbitrary numbers of participant processes efficient. The role of commit protocols in providing transaction isolation for distributed transactions is studied. We present novel definitions for the four different levels of transactions isolation first proposed by the ANSI community. By first modelling a system of multiple concurrent distributed transactions, using our new technique, we show how to verify that a particular level of isolation is attained within the system. This once again demonstrates the applicability of our modelling technique.

La recherche est centree essentiellement sur l'ecriture symbolique, ses coordonnees psychologiques et culturelles et ses rapports avec le sacre. D'autre part, le probleme de l'humanisme de dante est replace dans la perspective de la civilisation toscane, avec references au substrat culturel etrusco-latin et au milieu de vie. Dans le volume i, on analyse la relation des personnages de dantevoyageur et de virgile-guide, puis l'influence exercee par leneide. Le volume 2 concerne d'abord la representation de l'espace imaginaire dans l'enfer et le purgatoire, ainsi que celle des personnages, figures et scenes mythiques. Ensuite, sont etudies les symboles du cercle et de l'oiseau en fonction de la signification globale du recit. Autour du probleme du destin se nouent les principales composantes thematiques du poeme - quetes de l'amour perdu, de la paix terrestre et du salut eternel - et se trouve formule un message d'ordre philosophique, ideologique et spirituel. Une analyse textu- elle des "similitudes" mythologiques (en annexe dans le tome 3) precise les interferences du mythe et du symbole et propose une lecture esoterique.

Le compte en banque peut revetir le role d'auteur ou de victime des infractions selon un critere simple - l'inscription injustifiee d'une somme a son debit ou a son credit au moyen d'agissements permettant de qualifier les elements constitutifs d'une infraction. La nature de personne morale du compte en banque permet une repression plus rapide (l'enregistrement des operations permet l'identification et facilite la preuve), plus vaste (les theories de la contamination des avoirs et de l'unite du compte lient tous les comptes impliques dans le processus criminel), plus sure (le gel et la confiscation sont immediats) et plus juste (la repression cible la personne morale innommee du compte en banque et ne vise plus automatiquement la banque), ainsi qu'une application correcte des definitions juridiques d'infractions classiques en evitant de creer de nouvelles normes repressives techniques et ponctuelles (recel, vol, abus de confiance, escroquerie, legislation relative au cheque et, plus specialement, aux cartes de paiement).

The arrival of manycore systems enforces new approaches for developing applications in order to exploit the available hardware resources. Developing applications for manycores requires programmers to partition the application into subtasks, consider the dependence between the subtasks, understand the underlying hardware and select an appropriate programming model. This is complex, time-consuming and prone to error. In this thesis, we identify and implement abstraction layers in compilation tools to decrease the burden of the programmer, increase program portability and scalability, and increase retargetability of the compilation framework. We present compilation frameworks for two concurrent programming languages, occam-pi and CAL Actor Language, and demonstrate the applicability of the approach with application case-studies targeting these different manycore architectures: STHorm, Epiphany, Ambric, EIT, and ePUMA. For occam-pi, we have extended the Tock compiler and added a backend for STHorm. We evaluate the approach using a fault tolerance model for a four stage 1D-DCT algorithm implemented by using occam-pi's constructs for dynamic reconguration, and the FAST corner detection algorithm which demonstrates the suitability of occam-pi and the compilation framework for data-intensive applications. For CAL, we have developed a new compilation framework, namely Cal2Many. The Cal2Many framework has a front end, two intermediate representations and four backends: for a uniprocessor, Epiphany, Ambric, and a backend for SIMD based architectures. Also, we have identied and implemented of CAL actor fusion and fission methodologies for efficient mapping CAL applications. We have used QRD, FAST corner detection, 2D-IDCT, and MPEG applications to evaluate our compilation process and to analyze the limitations of the hardware.

The architectures of embedded systems are becoming increasingly non-standard and app\-lic\-a\-tion-specific. They frequently contain multiple heterogenous processing cores, non-uniform memory, complex interconnect or custom hardware elements such as DSP and SIMD cores. However, programming languages have traditionally assumed a single processor architecture with a uniform logical address space and abstract away from hardware and implementation details. As a result, the programmer is prevented from making efficient use of unique hardware features by the abstraction models of the programming language and must use abstraction-breaking techniques such as libraries, OS calls, or inline low-level coding. This thesis describes Compile-Time Virtualisation (CTV), a virtualisation-based technique for assisting the mapping of general-purpose software onto complex hardware. CTV introduces the Virtual Platform, an idealised view of the underlying hardware that presents a simplified programming model. The Virtual Platform ensures that general-purpose code will execute correctly regardless of the complexity of the actual platform. In order to effectively exploit application-specific architectures, CTV allows the programmer to influence the mappings implemented by the Virtual Platform, for example to target specific processors or hardware elements. CTV differs from existing run-time virtualisation systems in that its virtualisation layer only exists at compile-time, resulting in a system which displays minimal run-time overheads. An implementation of CTV called Anvil is developed which is evaluated alongside the general CTV approach. Experiments and simulations demonstrate that CTV-based systems can be used to efficiently target a wide range of complex systems.

Déterminer si un problème de satisfaction de contraintes (CSP) a une solution ou non est NP-complet. Les CSP sont résolus par inférence (c’est-à-dire, en appliquant un algorithme de cohérence), par énumération (c’est-à-dire en effectuant une recherche avec retour sur trace ou backtracking), ou, plus souvent, en intercalant les deux mécanismes. La propriété de cohérence la plus courante appliquée en cours du backtracking est la GAC (Generalized Arc Consistency). Au cours des dernières années, de nouveaux algorithmes pour appliquer des cohérences plus fortes que le GAC ont été proposés et montrés comme étant nécessaires pour résoudre les problèmes difficiles.Nous nous attaquons à la question de balancer d’une part le coût et, d’autre part, le pouvoir d’élagage des algorithmes de cohérence et posons cette question comme étant celle de déterminer où, quand et combien une cohérence doit-elle être appliquée en cours de backtracking. Pour répondre à la question « où », nous exploitons la structure topologique d'une instance du problème et focalisons la cohérence forte là où des structures cycliques apparaissent. Pour répondre à la question « quand », nous proposons une stratégie simple, réactive et efficace qui surveille la performance du backtracking puis déclenche une cohérence forte lorsque l’effort du retour sur trace devient alarmant. Enfin, pour la question du « combien », nous surveillons les mises à jour provoquées par la propagation des contraintes et interrompons le processus dès qu’il devient inactif ou coûteux même avant qu’il n’atteigne un point fixe. Les évaluations empiriques sur des problèmes de référence établissent l’efficacité de nos stratégies
Determining whether or not a Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) has a solution is NP-complete. CSPs are solved by inference (i.e., enforcing consistency), conditioning (i.e., doing search), or, more commonly, by interleaving the two mechanisms. The most common consistency property enforced during search is Generalized Arc Consistency (GAC). In recent years, new algorithms that enforceconsistency properties stronger than GAC have been proposed and shown to be necessary to solve difficult problem instances.We frame the question of balancing the cost and the pruning effectiveness of consistency algorithms as the question of determining where, when, and how much of a higher-level consistency to enforce during search. To answer the ‘where’ question, we exploit the topological structure of a problem instance and target high-level consistency where cycle structures appear. To answer the ‘when’ question, we propose a simple, reactive, and effective strategy that monitors the performance of backtrack search and triggers a higher-level consistency as search thrashes. Lastly, for the question of ‘how much,’ we monitor the amount of updates caused by propagation and interrupt the process before it reaches a fixpoint. Empirical evaluations on benchmark problems demonstrate the effectiveness of our strategies

Cette thèse étudie les aspects formels et thématiques de la commedia erudita, genre théâtral italien inspiré de Plaute et Térence, en vue d'interroger sa réception en France entre 1540 et 1650. Après avoir présenté ce genre dans les deux pays, nous en avons considéré trois filons - comédies romanesque, d'intrigue et sérieuse - et examiné autant les traductions que les adaptations réalisées en France. De cette perspective comparatiste, il ressort que la vitalité de la commedia erudita perdura dans son pays d'origine jusqu'à la fin du XVIe siècle et que l'intérêt des dramaturges français n'allait pas forcémént aux comédies italiennes les plus connues, mais s'orientait surtout vers celles qui privilégiaient le développement des personnages et de certains aspects de leur psychologie. Loin de suivre passivement leurs modèles italiens, les dramaturges français des XVIe et XVIIe siècles se sont enfin efforcés d'insuffler un caractère national original aux textes qu'ils transposaient.

Cette thèse propose d'identifier les effets de l'évaluation dans les établissements d'enseignement supérieur en France. Les questions de notre recherche se sont centrées autour des effets de l'autoévaluation (« évaluation interne ») proposée par le Comité national d'évaluation (CNE) à partir du guide d'évaluation interne le Livre des références (2003). Une étude de terrain, à base d'entretiens auprès de 37 responsables de 17 établissements d'enseignement supérieur évalués par cette procédure, examine les effets obtenus. Les responsables d'établissements ont exprimé librement ce qu'ils ont vécu pendant et après ces évaluations, quels en ont été les effets, quelle est leur position concernant la procédure et le guide d'évaluation utilisé. Les cadres de nos analyses ont été les sciences de l'éducation (pour l'« évaluation » et le système d'enseignement supérieur) et la sociologie des organisations (pour l'organisation et le fonctionnement des institutions publiques, universités et autres). On conclue sur la situation actuelle de l'évaluation institutionnelle : la création de la nouvelle Agence d'évaluation de la recherche et de l'enseignement supérieur (AERES, 2007), et le passage d'évaluations « formatives » développées par les CNE, à des évaluations « sommatives ». Les établissements sont mis devant de nouvelles responsabilités centrées, non sur les processus qu'ils mettent en oeuvre, mais sur les résultats à obtenir.

This thesis is about attempted suicides and is based on open and in-depth interviews of 31 individuals who have attempted suicide once or several times. The phenomenon is presented through the concept of "career" and from the subject's point of view. Its first objective is to reconstruct the sequence of events that marks the experience of individuals who had decided to commit suicide but have failed in their project.
This sequence starts with the decision to commit suicide, the choice of method, followed by the act itself; it is characterized by an interruption that triggers different forms of intervention: physical treatment in a hospital and psychiatric evaluation; it continues with the return of the individual to his/her familiar circle, facing the life conditions he/she had wanted to leave.
Reconstructing this experience emphasizes the solitary, the physical and the uncertain nature of the suicidal act. It also shows how individuals who do not complete their suicide will be caught in disconcerting and compromising situations, and that their act will force them to justify themselves to different audiences and will taint their relationships with others. Finally, the analysis indicates that the terms in which individuals envisage suicide are transformed in the course of their experience.

Tax competition between tax sovereignties is a fact. We focus here on the international tax competition. Taxation is one of the tools of governance that States use to direct their policies. Tax authorities try to diminish the burden of their taxpayers to improve the national economic and social welfare. To aim this objective, Governments intensify the competitiveness of the domestic trade and/or attract foreign investments. Because every States share the same goal, Governments compete with each other on the tax field. This tax competition is qualified as beneficial on the one hand, and one the other hand---ever more often---the adjective used to qualify this competition would be "harmful". At first, this thesis exposes the situation of tax competition, presenting the opposing views and the concurring ones. Then, we look at the position of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development and the position of the European Union on this issue of tax competition. Historic summaries explain the point of view of these two organizations that are the leaders in the fight against the "harmful" tax competition. Finally, we give subjective ideas to re-think tax competition in a fair way.

Critical studies on the comic drama of the seventeenth-century French playwright, Jean-Baptiste Poquelin de Moliere (1622-1673), center attention on biography, production, stylistics, and thematic development. Because of the diversity of themes, and because of the considerable productivity of this dramatist, the analyses of the style and substance of these comedies have often been focused on the use of themes or techniques employed in a single comedy or associated with one single sort of comedy. This thesis, "Farce, critique sociale, et ccm6die morale chez Moliere," proposes to deepen, in two ways, our appreciation of Moliere's combined use of themes and techniques that, in turn, create three sorts of comic modes. First, through a close reading of three of Moliere's major plays (Le medecin malgre lul, Les Precieuses ridicules, and Misanthrope), this thesis attempts to describe the techniques that develop and elucidate a particular comic focus, and thereby enhances our awareness of Moliere's recognition of the necessary relationship between theme and technique in the creation of comedy. The description of this use of comic techniques and the subsequent development of themes encourage classification of these representative plays into three sorts: farce, social comedy, and moral comedy. Such a classification thus expands the narrow perspective of criticism, and encourages a study of the necessary relationship between theme and technique and, perhaps, will suggest future study of the development of Moliere's comic artistry.

Resumo: A capacidade de aproximação universal apresentada por redes neurais artificiais foi explorada nos últimos anos junto a problemas de classificação e regressão de dados, envolvendo técnicas de treinamento supervisionado. No entanto, as redes neurais resultantes podem produzir queda de desempenho frente a amostras de teste. Esta é a principal motivação para o emprego de comitês de máquinas, na forma de um ensemble ou uma mistura de especialistas. Um ensemble toma propostas de solução completas para um problema e se ocupa em selecionar e combinar essas propostas na obtenção de uma única resposta. Já numa mistura de especialistas, cada especialista é responsável por parte do problema e os especialistas, assim como o módulo que decide qual especialista irá atuar em cada caso, são sintetizados simultaneamente. A aplicação de comitês de máquinas em predição de séries temporais indica que esta estratégia pode conduzir a ganhos de desempenho, quando comparado ao uso de um único preditor e considerando vários casos de estudo. Ainda no contexto de predição, foram investigadas duas técnicas para seleção de variáveis, além de ser avaliado o desempenho de duas propostas de partição da série temporal em conjuntos de treinamento, validação e teste. Os resultados de teste de significância do ganho de desempenho permitem apontar uma técnica de seleção e uma proposta de partição como as mais indicadas
Abstract: The universal approximation capability presented by artificial neural networks has been explored in recent years to solve classification and regression problems, using the supervised learning framework. However, the resulting neural networks may present degradation of performance when the test dataset is considered. This is the main motivation for the use of committee machines, in the form of an ensemble or a mixture of experts. An ensemble takes full-solution proposals and tries to select and combine them toward a single response. In the realm of a mixture of experts, each expert is devoted to a parcel of the original problem, and the experts, together with the module that allocates the individual role for each expert, are synthesized simultaneously. The application of committee machines to time series prediction indicates that these machine learning strategies can promote improvement in performance, when compared to the use of a single predictor and taking several case studies. Still in the context of prediction, two techniques for variable selection have been investigated, and two proposals for the partition of the time series in training, validation, and test datasets have been compared. The results in terms of test of significance of the gain in performance clearly indicate the superiority of one of the selection techniques and one of the partition proposals

Au cours des années cinquante et au début des années soixante, plusieurs critiques d’art proclamaient que la période des combine-paintings de Robert Rauschenberg était une renaissance du mouvement révolutionnaire dada. En effet, dans plusieurs articles de l’époque, on note une utilisation fréquente du terme "néo-dada" pour faire référence à la production de Rauschenberg. Au milieu des années soixante, cependant, une nouvelle tendance critique émergeait condamnant cette catégorisation. Les tenants de cette nouvelle orientation voyaient Rauschenberg non plus comme un néo-dada mais comme un précurseur du Pop. Tout en reconnaissant la validité de ces deux positions critiques, je tenterai de démontrer, dans les pages qui suivent, que ni l’une ni l’autre expliquent de façon adéquate la période des combine-paintings et le projet artistique qui l’a initiée. Après avoir examiné les points de vue de quelques représentants de ces deux tendances antagonistes, je démontrerai que la valeur essentielle des combine-paintings ne peut être reliée ni au dada ni au Pop. En effet, à la différence du mouvement dada qui rejetait l’institution de l’art et du mouvement Pop qui s’intégrait, d’une façon cynique, à celle-ci, les combine- paintings de Rauschenberg s’inscrivent dans l’institution de l’art de manière à la subvertir et reformule ainsi le projet de l’avant-garde historique qui consistait à combler la brèche entre le statut autonome de l’art et la vie quotidienne. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, many critics believed that Robert Rauschenberg’s combine-painting period was a revival of the revolutionary Dada movement. Indeed, in many articles, critics referred to the combines as "neo-dada". In the mid 1960s, however, a new wave of criticism began to surface which strongly criticized this categorization. Rather than considering Rauschenberg as a neo-dadaist, these critics saw him as a precursor to Pop. The purpose of this paper will be to show that while both critical perspectives contain some elements of truth, neither one adequately explains the combine-paintings and the basic artistic project that motivated them. After examining the points of view defended by some representatives of these opposed perspectives, I shall argue that the essential value of Rauschenberg’s combine-paintings does not lie in their relationship to either Dada or Pop. Unlike Dada’s total rejection of the institution of art in bourgeois society and Pop art’s cynical acceptance of it, Rauschenberg’s combine-paintings work within the institution of art in order to subvert it, thus reformulating the historical avant- garde’s unfinished project of breaking down the distinction between art as an autonomous entity and day-to-day life.

Située à l'entrée septentrionale du canal de Mozambique (11 degrés 18 de latitude sud, 43 degrés 11 de longitude est) a égale distance, soit 300 km des côtes malgaches et africaines, se dresse Ngazidja ile volcanique oblongue de 1025 km2, la plus importante en superficie de l'archipel des Comores, compose de quatre iles depuis 1912 mais dont une, Mayotte s'est séparée de la jeune république islamique en 1975 pour se maintenir dans le cadre français en qualité de collectivité territoriale. Dominée par un puissant volcan strombolien, le Kartala, au cratère impressionnant dont les planèzes sont jalonnées le long des rifts, de multiples cônes stromboliens, réguliers, égueules, voire explosifs, elle a toujours suscite des craintes collectives aussi bien de la part des visiteurs que de la population autochtone. Fondée sur une double civilisation, d'abord bantoue (6ele - 13eme siècle) s'appuyant sur élevage et système matrilinéaire arabo-shirazienne (après) le 13eme siècle) plus échangisme, l'ile a su synthétiser les deux courants civilisateurs par le biais du "Ndola kuru", le grand mariage, coutume initiatique permettant une hiérarchie de la société. Ngazidja is located in the northern entrance of the mozambic channel (eleven degrees latitude south and forty five degrees longitude east). It's equidistant from madagascar and african coasts 300 kilometers. It's a valcanic island. It's one thousand and twenty-give km2 long. This island is the widest of the comoro archipelago that has included four islands since nineteen twelve. At the end of the nineteen century the colonization brought an administrative system badly adapted for musulman people and a system of speculative cultivation that still exists nowodays, we can find vanilla in the "djiva". The independance generated a revolutionary movement, an innovative one but that failed. Les Comoriens en France constituent une des plus importantes diasporas malgré leur faible implication sur la scène sociale et politique. Bien que l’immigration comorienne soit un phénomène ancien, la population issue de cette migration reste encore peu étudiée. A l’instar de plusieurs communautés africaines et en dépit de leur insularité, les Comoriens font preuve d’un dynamisme associatif qu’il conviendra d’analyser. Si les nombreuses initiatives engagées par les associations impliquent des moyens et des compétences diverses, ces structures sont aussi un lieu de (re)distribution de pouvoirs, un lieu de production d’une mobilité sociale et aussi de conflits. Comment se construisent des carrières de dirigeants associatifs comoriens en France ? Dans quelle mesure le dispositif associatif peut devenir un tremplin permettant d’accéder à des fonctions sociales, politiques, religieuses ou culturelles ? De telles interrogations constituent l’objet de ce travail. La recherche s’inscrit dans une démarche méthodologique basée sur les observations directes, des entretiens pour la reconstitution de récits de vie, menés auprès de soixante-dix (70) leaders associatifs, d’acteurs politiques et de regroupements associatifs en région parisienne
The Comorians in France constitute one of the most important diasporas despite their weak involvement on the social and political scene. Although Comorian immigration is an old phenomenon, the population resulting from this migration remains little studied. Like many African communities and despite their insularity, the Comorians show an associative dynamism that should be analyzed. While the many initiatives undertaken by the associations involve various means and skills, these structures are also a place of (re) distribution of powers, a place of production of social mobility and also of conflicts. How are Careers of Comorian Community Leaders Developed in France? To what extent can the associative device become a stepping stone to access social, political, religious or cultural functions? Such questions are the object of this work. The research is part of a methodological approach based on direct observations, interviews for the reconstruction of life stories, conducted with seventy (70) associative leaders, political actors and associations in the Paris region

L'évolution des technologies conduit à des avions dont la structure est de plus en plus souple soulevant ainsi de plus en plus de problèmes aéroélastiques, dont celui du flottement. Ces problèmes doivent être anticipés le plus tôt possible au sein des cycles de conception avion et doivent également être couplés avec d'autres critères de dimensionnement comme les critères statiques qui sont indispensables pour la conception d'une structure aéronautique. On est ainsi amené à résoudre des problèmes de flottement dans les phases avancées de conception. La complexité de ces problèmes implique l'utilisation d'outils d'optimisation structurale afin de garantir une solution à masse minimale ce qui est un souci majeur lors de la conception d'un avion. Le même type d'outil permet également de trouver le dimensionnement optimal d'une structure sous des contraintes statiques. Des difficultés ou carences essentielles à ces outils ou méthodes ont motivé les différents sujets de recherche abordés au cours de cette thèse. Une méthode, appelée EMB pour Extended Modal Basis, a été développée dans le but de réaliser les analyses intervenant dans la résolution d'un problème d'optimisation structurale avec contraintes flutter et stress, de manière beaucoup plus rapide grâce à la construction d'un modèle réduit robuste. Afin de prendre en compte la non convexité des amortissements, source de la présence potentielle de plusieurs minima locaux, une méthode d'optimisation globale avec prise en compte directe des contraintes a été mise au point. Il s'agit de la méthode AFD (Annealed Feasible Direction Method). Les problèmes d'ingénierie rencontrés dans les bureaux d'études souffrent de façon importante du manque d'informations précises sur certains paramètres. Des travaux ont donc été menés afin d'éviter les politiques de marge, souvent grossières, utilisées actuellement et qui conduisent à des structures trop conservatives, donc trop lourdes. Une méthodologie a pour celà été développée afin d'une part de prendre en compte la présence d'incertitudes dès le processus d'optimisation et d'autre part de répondre à la demande constante de robustesse des optimums. Cette méthodologie est basée sur des concepts d'optimisation multi-niveaux.

Reputee illisible, l'oeuvre de louis zukofsky (1904-1978) impose au lecteur de frequentes modifications de ses strategies de lecture. Cette these est la trace de cet apprentissage. Elle est le produit d'une immersion dans l'oeuvre, de la consultation d'archives -manuscrits, correspondance inedite, editions originales et periodiques de l'epoque- et d'un appareil critique heterogene. Avant d'user d'un grand angle pour saisir tout le champ de l'oeuvre, plusieurs lectures au teleobjectif cadrent l'ecriture zukofskyenne : gros plans sur la premiere canzone d'"a"-9, la sextine ""mantis"", et thanks to the dictionary, fiction ecrite sous contrainte, et effets de tissage pour une poesie de la recurrence. De l'infiniment petit des photons et quantas d'"a"-9 a l'infiniment grand des constellations d'"a"-19, zukofsky tente de rendre compte du monde, avec une precision photographique, homophonique ou mathematique, en extension ou en comprehension, par l'inventaire ou la formule, experimentant differents ordres -logique, chronologique, alphabetique, aleatoire- et s'essayant a des arts varies : liste, table, graphe, index, test. De la doctrine "objectiviste" du poeme comme objet a celle de l'objet trouve, du capital de marx aux poemes de saint-valentin, de l'economie politique a l'economie domestique, s'esquisse une economie generalisee qui tient toute l'oeuvre : don et dette, dedicace et citation, plusvalue et grace l'etude finale envisage le compte rendu zukofskyien comme accomplissement du "livre" mallarmeen. En filigrane se revele une ecriture fondee sur la memoire des mots, memoirede leur source s'ils constituent une citation, mais plus largement, memoire de leurs occurrences anterieures dans l'oeuvre du poete.

Notre travail de recherche étudie l'organisation et le fonctionnement du système foncier comorien en prenant en compte les périodes précoloniale, coloniale et post-coloniale. Ce système incarne bien le reflet de la juxtaposition des structures traditionnelles et coloniales. Il a surtout subi, dans ses modes d'acquisition le poids des trois types bien distincts de droits (coutumier, musulman et colonial). Le choix de cette période, nous a permis d'effectuer une recherche sur la situation des dysfonctionnements de ce système à la veille, pendant la colonisation française et jusqu'à l'après accession du pays à la souveraineté internationale en 1975. Notre approche méthodologique consiste à présenter ; d'abord, de plus près et d'une manière exhaustive, les permanences, les mutations et les défis des modes d'acquisition (succession, donation, contrat de vente ou d'échange, accession, prescription...). Elle analyse, en même temps, les caractéristiques générales et spécifiques de l'environnement socioculturel sur l'organisation foncière de l'Archipel des Comores. Elle présente, enfin, les éventualités et les approches des politiques agraires qui doivent favoriser la mise en place des instruments juridiques d'une véritable politique de sécurisation des propriétés et domaines en maintenant l'équilibre d'un environnement écologique approprié et un développement durable et humain
This purpose of this research is to attempt to study how the Comorian land ownership system as regards its organization functioning during the pre-colonial, colonial and post colonial period. This system actually reflects the side by side existence of both traditional and colonial structures. It has however undergone deep changes with three different types of ownership, the customary, the Islamic and the colonial modes of property acquisition. The choice of this time frame is deliberate since it has enabled us to analyze the weakness of the system before, during colonial period and up to the independence in 1975. This study will first look closely and exhaustively at the permanent mode property acquisition continuous changes and challenges related to the mode of property acquisition such as inheritance, donation, sale contract, exchange, accession and prescription. At the same time, it will examine the general and specific features of the socio cultural context. Finally it will present the possibilities and land policies leading to a written document for regulation estate and land while keeping a balanced ecological environment in relation to a true policy promoting human sustainable and development

La prise en compte de l’intérêt du cocontractant, ayant une particularité conceptuelle suffisante, n’agit pas au service principal de l’intérêt égoïste ou de l’intérêt commun. Dynamique relationnelle, altruisme, et altérité de base des intérêts, en caractérisent donc une théorie pure. Quant à sa réalité théorique en droit contractuel, elle est fondée sur un principe de fraternité. Il constitue d’abord son support conceptuel, à l’exclusion de la solidarité dont il se distingue, son contenu correspondant à la triple dynamique délimitant la théorie pure de la notion. Il est ensuite son fondement réel, permettant de dépasser les limites de ses fondements concurrents – la bonne foi ou le solidarisme contractuel –, et le principe-axiome rendant compte de celle-ci. Quant à sa réalité matérielle le constat est qu’une partie de l’évolution de la théorie classique des obligations et contrats se matérialise par telle prise en compte. Cette dernière se manifeste d’une part, comme tempérament au principe de liberté contractuelle, tantôt comme norme positive de comportement – dans la bonne foi relationnelle, et l’obligation d’information renforcée –, tantôt comme limite à une prérogative contractuelle – dans le contrôle de l’abus et potentiellement, l’obligation de minimiser le dommage. Elle se manifeste d’autre part, comme aménagement du principe de la force obligatoire, opérant lors de la survenance d’une difficulté d’exécution étrangère au partenaire – dans l’obligation de renégociation du contrat, et potentiellement la théorie de l’imprévision –, ou d’une difficulté inhérente à celui-ci – dans les mesures de grâce, et la législation d’aménagement du surendettement des particuliers
A sufficient particular concept of “taking into consideration the other party’s interest” cannot intervene principally at the service of the selfish or common interest. Its pure theory is therefore characterized by “relational dynamism”, altruism and a basic distinction between interests. Concerning its theoretical reality in contractual law, it is based on a fraternity principle. Such principle constitutes firstly its conceptual support, to the exclusion of solidarity from which it is distinguished, since its content corresponds to the triple dynamic that characterizes the notion’s pure theory. Secondly, it constitutes its real basis, since it allows overcoming the limits of its concurrent basis – the good faith and the contractual solidarism – and is the principal-axiom where it finds its source. As to its material reality, a part of the evolution of the classical theory of obligations and contracts is materialized by such taking into consideration. It is manifested on the one hand as a temperament to the contractual freedom principle, sometimes as a positive standard of behavior – in the relational good faith and the reinforced obligation of information – and sometimes as a limit to a contractual prerogative – in the control of abuse and potentially the obligation to mitigate damages. It is manifested on the other hand, as an adjustment of the binding effect principle, when occurs a difficulty of execution that is exterior to the other party – in the duty to renegotiate the contract and potentially the “unforseeability” theory –, or inherent to this party – in the grace measures and the legislation on the adjustment of private individuals excessive indebtedness

The overall objective of this study was to identify and compare the characteristics of juvenile delinquents who commit sexual offenses with juvenile delinquents who commit offenses other than sexual offenses. To attain this objective, the following areas on juvenile offenders were studied: a) characteristics (b) family structure (c) family background (d) academic performance. A comparative research design was employed in this study. A questionnaire was designed specifically to collect data from the files of thirty-four residents who resided at the Atlanta Youth Development Center. A T-Test was used to test whether or not differences existed between these groups. Results indicated that overall, there were no significant differences between the two groups. This study was an attempt to describe juvenile sex offenders to determine if they differed from other juvenile offenders. The findings may aid in the development and implementation of services desperately needed for juvenile offenders and their families.

L'astrophysique des écoulements hypersoniques fortement hors équilibres, telle qu'on la trouve comme mécanisme générateur de perte de masse dans les enveloppes circumstellaires d'étoiles évoluées, ou dans les enveloppes circumstellaires de binaires chaudes ou froides en interaction, trouve une contrepartie dans la physique très appliquée et proche des problèmes de l'industrie des écoulements dits ”hyperenthalpiques” soit de plasmas collisionnels dans des tubes à chocs, soit autour de corps naturels ou artificiels pénétrant à très grande vitesse dans des atmosphères planétaires. Lors des rentrées atmosphériques, un choc détaché se forme à l'avant du véhicule spatial. Le plasma de la couche de choc ainsi formée est fortement collisionnel, et les flux de chaleur incidents à la paroi du véhicule sont dominés par les flux radiatifs provenant principalement du continuum. Il est alors nécessaire de prendre en compte le couplage entre l'écoulement et le rayonnement. Pour des nombres de Mach élevés, le plasma de la couche de choc est en d´eséquilibre thermo- chimique et radiatif. Les processus collisionnels (collisions entre particules lourdes et collisions électroniques) et radiatifs (émission et absorption de rayonnement) doivent être traités de façon complètement couplée. Contrairement aux hypothèses les plus fréquemment utilisées jusqu'ici, chaque niveau électronique de l'atome est considéré comme une espèce différente. Les processus collision- nels et radiatifs sont présents dans les équations de conservation de la masse des espèces sous forme de termes sources. Un terme de divergence du flux radiatif intervient dans l'équation sur l'énergie totale du mélange de gaz. Une méthode des volumes finis implicite est utilisée pour le traitement du système d'équations. Cela nécessite le calcul des Jacobiens numériques pour la linéarisation des termes sources chimiques. Un calcul de rentrée atmosphérique à 15 km/s a été effectué et met bien en évidence le déséquilibre thermochimique du plasma. Une diminution de la distance choc/paroi montre l'importance du rayonnement sur la structure de la couche de choc.

This thesis studies the correlation between the commit frequency and popularity of Github projects. Over 12 000 projects were retrieved using the Github API, resulting in a dataset containing 85 projects after filtering out projects that were deemed unfit. The analysis of the projects consisted of calculating the Pearson Correlation Coefficient using the frequency of commits and popularity as variables. Different time intervals were studied along with several metrics of popularity based upon the project’s metadata retrieved from Github. The results varied for the different time intervals and metrics of popularity but none of the measurements resulted in a correlation coefficient which indicated a strong or moderate correlation. Therefore this study reached the conclusion of no existing correlation between commit frequency and popularity. Although no correlation was found, several potential measures of improvement for further research were discovered.
Denna studie undersöker korrelationen mellan frekvensen av commits och popularitet hos Github projekt. Över 12 000 projekt utvanns genom Github API:et vilket resulterade i en datamängd innehållandes 85 projekt efter att gallringen av oönskade projekt ägt rum. Analysen av projekten bestod av att beräkna Pearsons korrelationskoefficient med frekvensen av commits och popularitet som variabler. Baserat på projektens metadata från Github undersöktes olika tidsintervall kombinerat med flera mått på popularitet. Resultaten varierade för de olika tidsintervallen och popularitetsmåtten men ingen av mätningarna resulterade i en korrelationskoefficient som indikerade en stark eller medelstark korrelation. Således fastställde denna studie slutsatsen att ingen korrelation existerade mellan frekvensen av commits och popularitet. Trots att ingen korrelation hittades, upptäcktes däremot flera potentiella förbättringsåtgärder för vidare forskning
