Research on neoliberalism tends to conceive of it as fundamentally about ‘free markets’. But this confuses theoretical with actually existing neoliberalism. This article presents a meta-narrative of neoliberalism since the 1970s that conceptualises it as a political economic project seeking to enhance corporate and elite power through market, non-market and anti-market policies ( vectors of power). These policies have been propelled globally by two forces and implemented via four mechanisms. The two forces are ideological and police/military power and have convinced or coerced policy-makers an

Abstract:
This article responds to Peck’s call for a heterodox economic analysis of markets that is sensitive to their sociality and spatiality with Polanyi’s work as a starting point. It is argued that while Polanyi’s concept of the socially embedded economy offers a useful heuristic for apprehending the social foundations of economic activity, his analysis exhibits ‘market fetishism’ – a tendency to treat markets as things in and of themselves, without a proper appreciation of their inherently social foundations – and that this is reflected in broader scholarly discourses with respect to markets. Abstract:
The article points to the social aspects of marketing in the market activity of business entities. It results in the processual character of management in the exchange of products (values) between two sides of the market (demand and supply), which consists of two market groups (two groups of people). It is these groups of people that are the subject of management, including those involved in the implementation of its basic functions, necessary for the implementation of the objectives of market activity. This subjective character of management was presented in selected economic entities.

Standard approaches to the theory of financial markets are based on equilibrium and efficiency. Here we develop an alternative based on concepts and methods developed by biologists, in which the wealth invested in a financial strategy is like the abundance of a species. We study a toy model of a market consisting of value investors, trend followers, and noise traders. We show that the average returns of strategies are strongly density dependent; that is, they depend on the wealth invested in each strategy at any given time. In the absence of noise, the market would slowly evolve toward an effi
