Contract farming in seed production has played an instrumental role in bringing private investment into seed research and production. As developing countries have predominantly small and marginal farmers, the number of inefficiencies that arise from seed contractual agreements hinders producers from realizing the full potential benefits from seed contracts. We carried out an economic experiment with real producers and organizers currently engaged in seed production to analyze their preference for group seed contracts, its sustainability and welfare implications in the seed value chain. Smart contracts, as Turing-complete programs managing billions of assets in decentralized finance, are prime targets for attackers. While fuzz testing seems effective for detecting vulnerabilities in these programs, we identify several significant challenges when targeting smart contracts: (i) the stateful nature of these contracts requires stateful exploration, but current fuzzers rely on transaction sequences to manipulate contract states, making the process inefficient; (ii) contract execution is influenced by the continuously changing blockchain environment, yet current fuzzers are limited

Abstract Sampling methods for detecting stink bugs are intensive, time-consuming, and yield variable results. In a 2-yr mark-release-observe experiment, over 500 adult green stink bugs, Chinavia hilaris (Say) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), were used to test for variation in nocturnal and diurnal insect distribution patterns on cotton. Field-collected stink bugs were marked or unmarked with nontoxic fluorescent sharpie markers, released, and monitored in cotton fields at peak bloom. Stink bugs were monitored visually during day and night, aided by a handheld blacklight for nighttime observations. W

Abstract:
This essay examines the stereotype that transgender people are “deceivers” and the stereotype's role in promoting and excusing transphobic violence. The stereotype derives from a contrast between gender presentation (appearance) and sexed body (concealed reality). Because gender presentation represents genital status, Bettcher argues, people who “misalign” the two are viewed as deceivers. The author shows how this system of gender presentation as genital representation is part of larger sexist and racist systems of violence and oppression.

Background: Internal hernias are potentially devastating condition that can manifest as intestinal obstruction and often present with nonspecific symptoms. This vagueness can lead to delayed diagnosis and management challenges. Therefore, clinical vigilance, prompt recognition, and timely intervention are crucial in preventing catastrophic complications associated with this under-recognized condition. Aims and Objectives: The objective is to underscore the imperative of prompt diagnostic interventions in patients presenting with intestinal obstruction. Moreover, fostering awareness among nasce

In subjects with sinus rhythm, respiration has a profound effect on heart rate variability (HRV) at high frequencies (HF). Because this HF respiratory arrhythmia is lost in atrial fibrillation (AF), it has been assumed that respiration does not influence the ventricular response. However, previous investigations have not considered the possibility that respiration might influence HRV at lower frequencies. We hypothesized that Cheyne-Stokes respiration with central sleep apnea (CSR-CSA) would entrain HRV at very low frequency (VLF) in AF by modulating atrioventricular (AV) nodal refractory peri

Abstract - As digital communication expands, the security of concealed messages in images without damaging their visual perception has become a mandatory necessity in data security. This paper introduces a new method that couples Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme (SSSS) with steganography to protect sensitive data inside digital images securely. In contrast to traditional techniques that distort the image or introduce evidence of manipulation, our technique guarantees that the original image is visually unchanged following embedding. The aim is to analyze the legal consequences of mystery box buying and selling contracts on several popular marketplaces among the millennial generation. Despite the unclear nature of the transaction's object, buyers are prepared and understand the contents of the mystery box. The study employs a normative legal approach with analytical descriptive methods. The findings conclude that transactions involving mystery boxes ar

Here I briefly discuss most processes that are commonly believed to characterize the so-called hadronic AGN emission models, and these include leptonic as well as hadronic processes. Inversion of residual gravity anomalies is an important geophysical technique for depicting subsurface density contrasts, for example, for mineral deposits. We have expressed subsurface density variations using depth-variable polynomial functions and developed the polynomial coefficient inversion (PCI) method, which is an alternative method for mapping subsurface density distributions by inverting the coefficients of density-contrast functions. PCI enables the linear inversion of density variations without vertically subdividing the subsurface. Synthetic tests indicate that PCI combines polyno
