Abstract:
Having attempted to understand the concept of revolution, which is one of the most controversial concepts in science and philosophy, the author explores the meaning of the concept in different theoretical and practical areas. In order to reassert his thesis (it is unjustified to restrict the concept of revolution to political and social area), the author reminds us about the frequent discussions about industrial, technological, scientific, cultural, sexual and spiritual revolutions. After a detailed reflection on different meanings of the concept of revolution in these areas, the author concludes not only that the philosophical concept of revolution theoretically excels the sociological concept of revolution, but also that the spiritual concept of revolution is superior to the philosophical concept of revolution. Warning us about the moral and spiritual crisis of today?s world, about the ever-increasing evil, the author reaffirms the significance of the spiritual revolution. He believes that the flame of many small, individual, spiritual revolutions could save the world from the threatening disaster.

Abstract:
The present article falls within a number of papers about research on specification of philosophical novels. The aim of this article is to analyze author’s function as a narrative category in classical philosophical novels (Franz Kafka "The Trial" (1925) ”The Castle”(1926), Jean-Paul Sartre "Nausea" (1938), Hermann Hesse "The Glass Bead Game" (1943), Albert Camus ”The Plague” (1947)) and a novel of Latvian prose writer Ilze Šķipsna „Neapsolītās zemes” [Un-Promised Lands](1970)). The analysis is based on theoretical ideas of structural narratologists Gerard Genette, William Labov, Seymuor Chatman, Wolf Schmid, as well as philosophers Edmund Husserl, Jean-Paul Sartre, Paul Ricouer and semioticians Yuri Lotman (Юрий Лотман) and Umberto Eco.The real author can ”enter” the text only indirectly—as an image, with the help of the storyteller, and the way how this ”entry” happens is determined by the narration of the real author or narrative (communication) skills of the author. Thus, the author and implied author are functionally different concepts: author as a real person develops the concept idea, his intention is to define the concept under his original vision; narrator, in its turn, communicates with the reader, representing the concept, and his aim is to select appropriate means of communication with regard to reader’s perceptual abilities.

Abstract:
In this study, the author proposed a terminologisation of the concept “non-fiction book” in the framework of Ukrainian theory of publishing. The relevance of the study is stipulated by the emergence in Ukrainian publishing space of the concept “non-fiction book”, which is widely used by publishers, authors, booksellers, literary managers and readers, while the term “non-fiction book” is not clearly defined in Ukrainian academic sphere and is absent in Ukrainian dictionaries. The main objectives of the study are: to summarize results of interdisciplinary discussions over the concept “non-fiction” in Ukrainian and foreign scientific discourses; to clarify the features and peculiarities of different professional approaches; and to define the semantic framework for interpretation of the concept “non-fiction book” in Ukrainian publishing. In the study, the author applied the following research methods: bibliographical method (to study the literature sources); conceptual analysis (to work out the basic terms and concepts); analysis and synthesis (to study the nature of the usage of terms and to identify their features); synthesis (to shape the own definition of the concept “non-fiction”). Having considered the various foreign definitions of the term “non-fiction”, the author came to the conclusions that it is predominantly used in two major senses – a broad and a narrow. In a broader sense, “non-fiction” is a literature that does not contain an artistic fiction. In this sense the term is widely used by the booksellers, authors and readers. In a narrow sense, ‘non-fiction” is a literature that is based on real events, documents, facts and biographies, interpreted by the author through artistic means without distorting the actual events of the story. The concept “non-fiction book” refers to the publications, the content of which is based not only on documents and facts, but also includes the author’s interpretation. The proposed terminologisation of the concept “non-fiction book” in the framework of Ukrainian theory of publishing can be used in further academic research in the relevant fields of study.

Abstract:
The article discusses the conflict between engineers as the professional community and their employer (state or capital owner), which starts its history from the beginning of the 20th century. The author deals with the concepts of engineering philosophy and attempts to define the modern concept of “engineer” with a purpose to understand the new role of the engineer in modern society. The article demonstrates the problem to define the concept of engineering and its connection with the concept of power, which inevitably leads engineers to competing relations with their employers. The article also examines the modern context of engineering, in its connection with science and capital, explores the tendency to merge the concepts of capitalist, employer and engineer. In addition, the author shows the contradictions of relations between engineers and society, expressed in the decisions of scientific policy, in particular, in the concept of “responsible innovations”. Strengthening the role of the professional community of engineers is shown in the context of a comparison of the conflict between engineers and capital owners and bureaucracy in the early 20th century (Author uses works of T. Veblen and E. Layton), and in the beginning of the 21st century (works of modern Western and domestic authors). The article touched upon the topic of influence on the society of modern blockchain technologies.

Abstract:

Abstract:
/ABSTRACT: The cooperation comes as the foundation of any organization but also of sports teams. The cooperative behavior is influenced by the esteem and confidence that the individual has in himself. Trust between individuals result of mediation between the behavior of self-interest and concern for others, thereby promoting cooperation among members. Several authors refer to the notions of competence-related behaviors of confidence. Thus it was studied in the present study the correlations between the sporting cooperation and self-concept of competence. The sample was composed of 120 male athletes of professional teams and semi-professional football. The instruments used "Cooperation Sports Questionnaire" and "Self-Concept Questionnaire for Competence," have revealed qualities psicométicas acceptable. The results showed statistically significant correlations between the dimension of cooperation and situational dimensions, cognitive, social and creative self-concept of ability, as well as the size of unconditional cooperation with the cognitive and social dimensions of self-concept of competence.

Abstract:

Abstract:
------- ABSTRACT -------

Abstract:
Para futuras investigações poder-se-á tomar em consideração a influência da relação personalidade / auto-conceito na excelência; ABSTRACT: Historically the study of excellence has focused on the constructs of intelligence, creativity and motivation (Robinson & Clinkenbeard, 1998). However, personality and self-concept of competence present themselves as influential factors in academic excellence and there is plenty of evidence about the influence that both constructs have on improving academic performance. The main objective of this research is to understand the students considered excellent, trying to figure out what kind of personality and self-concept of competence they present. Using the Case Study method, the sample consists in four participants and the instruments used were NEO-PI-R, EACC and an interview. We concluded that for the NEO-PI-R, Conscientiousness domain is not equally preponderant in the four profiles, but Openness to Experience is. We also noticed that self-concept of competence is moderately positive. For future investigations would be relevant to take into consideration the influence of the relationship personality/self-concept in excellence.

Phd thesis, Université Panthéon-Sorbonne - Paris I, 2010. http://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-00612275.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
1471) of Philodemus of Gadara represents a major source for the comprehension of Epicurean parrhêsia. In spite of the extremely deteriorated condition of the papyrus, nevertheless compensated by the draft editions transmitted by the current editor, Henry, and by the results of the bibliological research effectuated by White, a thematic interpretation of the manuel Peri Parrhêsias, On frankness, has been made possible, in such a way as to provide henceforth a basis to examine the role of parrhêsia in the Acts of the Apostles. When comparing the manner in which Luke employs parrhêsia with that of Philodemus, it is apparent that the first relies on the latter, all of the Philodemus themes being present in practically all of the Lucan pericopae. However, Luke adapts the parrhêsia to his own narrative project, all while giving it a strategic role in describing the expansion of the Gospel unto the end

Abstract:
The monograph traces the history of the development of German neoliberal economic thought from the origins of the Freiburg School in the 1930s to the first results of the practical implementation of the concept of a social market economy in West Germany in the late 1940s-early 1960s. The author demonstrates the broad historical context of the development of German ideas about the theory and practice of the policy of order (Ordnungstheorie und Ordnungspolitik), shows the features of the formation and spread of the scientific and intellectual economic tradition in Germany, as well as beyond its borders, starting with the birth of the German historical school and the perception of its heritage by Russian socio-economic thought in the second half of the XIX — early XX century and ending with the practical implementation of the concept of order of the Freiburg school and the correlation of its ideological and spiritual and moral foundations with the social teaching of Catholicism and liberalism of Friedrich von Hayek. Special attention is paid to some controversial issues of the formation of the theory of ordoliberalism during the period of national socialism and the problems of the social market economy in modern Germany.&#x0D; The book is intended to fill the shortage of specialized scientific literature on relevant issues and to acquaint the Russian reader, primarily students, teachers and researchers, with the variety of ideological and scientific-theoretical foundations of the socio-economic system of the post-war Germany.

Full text
Abstract:
The monograph presents a methodology for assessing the vulnerability of landscapes to external influences. A comparative analysis of the concepts of "stability", "sensitivity", "vulnerability" in relation to natural complexes. An overview of existing methods for assessing the vulnerability of natural complexes is presented. The author's method of assessing the vulnerability of landscapes to anthropogenic impacts is described. The methodology is based on: selection and justification of criteria for assessing the vulnerability of landscapes; preparation of a parametric matrix and gradation of assessment criteria in accordance with the developed vulnerability classes; calculation of weighting factors of vulnerability assessment parameters; selection of optimal territorial operational unit for landscape vulnerability assessment. The method is implemented in the GIS environment "Assessment of vulnerability of landscapes of the Kaliningrad region to anthropogenic impacts", created by the authors using modern geoinformation products. The specificity of spatial differentiation of different landscapes in terms of vulnerability to anthropogenic impacts at the regional and local levels is revealed. It is stated that the use of the methodology for assessing the vulnerability of landscapes to anthropogenic impacts and its integration into the system of nature management will ensure a balanced account of geoecological features and environmental priorities in territorial planning.&#x0D; It is of interest to specialists in the field of rational nature management, environmental protection, spatial planning.

Abstract:
AbstractThe purpose of this chapter is to discuss two basic concepts—cyberspace and cybersecurity. The author describes the genesis of both and attempts to define them. In the introduction, the author briefly addresses the issue of the progress of information technology in recent decades and the impact of this factor on security. Then, he indicates the source of the term “cyberspace” and presents the definitions in American documents, doctrine and Polish law. Defining the concept of “cybersecurity”, the author starts from the definition of the term “security”. Then he presents selected definitions of this term. He also emphasizes that cybersecurity should be viewed broadly and that a definition should be made taking into account both the attacks by hackers or foreign forces and the “plain” failures.

AbstractOutline: Based on the Three-multiple problem of literature on strategy definition, this chapter analyses literature on strategy definition based on a special research approach developed by the author. The reasons for the aforesaid Three-multiple problem are examined with a sample over 30 definitions. It is found that there are mainly four reasons contributing to the Three-multiple problem. (1) different wordings are used to express the same meaning; (2) a variety of wordings are used to illustrate the content of different sub-classes that are under the same category; (3) different understandings of the strategy concept cause the use of various wordings; (4) extensions of concept are included in literature on strategy definition.

Abstract Morley presents a research paper on a qualitative study of 15 groups of authors who were submitting chapters to an edited open-access collection, “Applied pedagogy for higher education. Real world learning and innovation across the curriculum”. Through the method of concept mapping, authors discuss their views and experience of “real world learning”. The concept of real world learning is an emerging area in higher education where students are focusing not only on their present learning but on how they can develop attributes and identities that equip them to progress following graduation. A thematic analysis of the author focus groups identifies three themes of fidelity, individuality and mutuality. A discussion of the themes applies the authors’ experience of real world curriculum planning and pedagogy in higher education.

Abstract:
Any screen message usually comprises three components: life drama in the form of a story about a real person as the character; the author’s intention to create an artistic world containing footprints of the creative personality and the author’s concept; and the viewer’s mindset regarding this world. Thus, a screen document is created by three participants of communication: character, author, viewer, though each of them differently manifests itself in turbulent conditions of ongoing media-transformations. Under the new direction named ‘real’, ‘actual’, ‘horizontal’ cinema, the documentary screen is increasingly featuring a new hero: a private, ‘simple’ person who is easy to watch with a lightweight digital camera, and who himself, blurring the line between the personal and the public, does not mind picking up the camera for the purpose of self-presentation. The author has an opportunity to demonstrate his films on new media platforms. And the viewer participates in the creation of interactive documentaries. Thus, the article covers the essential and functional changes taking place with characters, authors, and viewers of modern documentaries as an open system at their transition (alongside this movie type itself) from the existence within the framework of old, conventional media (big-screen cinema and television) to relevant media platforms (social media, new media, mobile devices, etc.).

Abstract When the engineering students graduate and are about to enter the “real world of engineering” — be it an engineering industry (as a coop or as an engineer), or return to an educational institution for further studies, they must appreciate and possibly be already familiar with the concept of “Total Design of the Mechanical System”. This means that the students be given excellent training before they graduate, to fulfil the current and the future needs of an industry. This paper presents the methodology adopted by the author based on his own experience as a consultant to an industry, in teaching 2 different design courses at the Michigan Technological University. Full text
Abstract:
There has been a recent increase of interest in the phenomenon of power amongst linguists and also philosophers. The presented article attempts to consider power and ways in which it is exercised through language of computer-mediated communication (further CMC). This unique environment is determined by the specific conditions of an Internet chat room, such as anonymity and no audio-visual cues. In the theoretical part, Watts’s and Diamond’s investigations of power in various open and closed groups in oral communication are discussed and the notion of status is presented. The author divides the chat group corpus into individual sub-groups and tries to draw a graphical presentation, a sociogram, to show their complexity and distribution of power. However, the question remains how tight the sub-groups in CMC are or how interrelated they are with one another. In this respect, it is noteworthy to observe how a selected chat participant develops her status in various sub-groups and to analyze the means by which this possible status is achieved. The corpus was collected by the author herself. The main hypothesis is that the status of power changes quickly throughout chatting and it depends to a great extent on other cues such as address, non-verbal action displays, punctuation marks and so on. In other words, there are very few means by which to exercise power and hold it in this continuously changing and anonymous environment.

Full text
Abstract:
The Dynaplane concept has many real advantages and benefits, but has not enjoyed the acceptance that it deserves. The Dynaplane concept was originally conceived for application to craft over 20ft in length powered by inboard engine with drive leg mounted well forward of transom, a transom mounted rudder and v-shaped stern foil configuration. The author has revised, revisited and simplified some aspects of the original Dynaplane concept to realize its application to a 16.5ft (5m) outboard powered “runabout” style craft which should appeal to the recreational boating market. Since research and previous application by Eugene Clement was on larger craft, some data and aspects were extended for applicability to the smaller sized version. Design software “Dyna_Designer” applicable to Dynaplane was developed and used during the design process. Powering, stern foil configuration, steering and step ventilation were re-worked to reduce complexity. During the design process the author was privileged to have the support of and input from Eugene Clement. The final design documents were made available to Eugene Clement by the author and his responses were positive. This paper describes some aspects of the development work done to date by the author in realizing a runabout design using the Dynaplane concept.

Creativity is one of the important concepts of the theory of journalism. The author does not agree with the extended definition of creativity. He believes that journalistic activity becomes creativity when it is free and associated with the creation and establishment of new national and universal values, with the highest intensity of intellectual and moral strength of the journalist, when journalism is a manifestation of civic position, when this activity combines professional skills and perfect literary form. The author also believes that literary skill and the skill of a journalist are not identical concepts, because literary skill is a component of journalistic skill.

Abstract:
Consideration of aspects of the functioning of mass media in society requires a comprehensive approach based on universal media theory. The article presents an attempt to consider public events in terms of a functional approach to understanding the media, proposed by media theorist Dennis McQuayl in the theory of mass communication. Public events are analyzed, on the one hand, as a complex object of journalistic reflection and, on the other hand, as a situational media that examines the relationship of agents of the social and media fields in the space of communication interaction. Taking into account philosophical approaches to the interpretation of the concept of event, considering its semantic spectrum, specificity of use and synonyms in the Ukrainian language, a working definition of the concept of public event is given. Based on case-analysis of public events, In accordance with the functions of the media the functions of public events are outlined. This is is promising for the development of study on typology of public events in the context of mass communication theory. The realization of the functions of public events as situational media is illustrated with such vivid examples of cultural events as «Gogolfest» and «Book Forum in Lviv». The author shows that a functional approach to understanding public events in society and their place in the space of mass communication, opens prospects for studying the role of media in reflecting the phenomena of social reality, clarifying the presence and quality of communication between media producers and media consumers.

Abstract:
The article deals with the ways in which social networks and the blogosphere influence the formation and implementation of a PR campaign. Examples from the political sphere (election campaigns, initiatives), business (TV brands, traditional and online media) have revealed the opportunities that Facebook, Telegram, Twitter, YouTube and blogs promote in promoting advertising, ideas, campaigns, thoughts, or products. Author blogs created on special websites or online media may not be as much of a tool in PR as an additional tool on social media. It is noted that choosing a blog as the main tool of PR campaign has both positive and negative points. Social networks intervene in the sphere of human life, become a means of communication, promotion, branding. The effectiveness of social networks has been evidenced by such historically significant events as Brexit, the Arab Spring, and the Revolution of Dignity. Special attention was paid to the 2019 presidential election. Based on the analysis of individual PR campaigns, the reasons for successful and unsuccessful campaigns from the point of view of network communication, which provide unlimited multimedia and interactive tools for PR, are highlighted. In fact, these concepts significantly affect the effectiveness of the implementation of PR-campaign, its final effectiveness, which is determined by the achievement of goals. Attention is drawn to the culture of communication during the PR campaign, as well as the concepts of “trolls”, “trolling”, “bots”, “botoin industry”. The social communication component of these concepts is unconditional. Choosing a blog as the main tool of a marketing campaign has both positive and negative aspects. Only a person with great creative potential can run and create a blog. In addition, it takes a long time. In fact, these two points are losing compared to other internet marketing tools. Further research is interesting in two respects. First, a comparison of the dynamics of the effectiveness of PR-campaign tools in Ukraine in 2020 and in the past, in particular, at the dawn of state independence. Secondly, to investigate how/or the concept of PR-campaigns in social networks and blogs is constantly changing.

We identified words related to the concept of the enemy and determined the context in which they are used by the authors of the collections Results. The formats of reflection of military reality in collections of military documentaries are investigated. It is emphasized that the authors-observers of events as professional communicators form a vision of events based on categories understandable to the audience – «own» and «others». Instead, the authors-participants go events have more creative space and pay more attention to their own emotional state and reflections. It is defined how the enemy is depicted and what place he occupies in the military reality represented by the authors. It is emphasized that the authors reflect the enemy in different ways. In particular, the authors-observers of the events tried to form a comprehensive vision of the events, and therefore paid much attention to the opposite side of the military conflict. Authors-participants of the events tend to show the enemy as a mass to be opposed. In such collections, the enemy is specified only in the presence of evidence confirming the presence of Russians or militants. Novelty. The research for the first time investigates the methods of representation of military activity in the collections of Ukrainian military documentaries. The purpose of the research is to outline the structure of the main methodological ideas within the frames of interpretive thinking in the essay of the famous Vistnyk’s writer, critic and essayist Yevhen Malaniuk. Considering the purpose and tasks of the studio, an interdisciplinary methodological base, related to the author’s “national approach”, has been worked out. The epistemological potential of national philosophy as a philosophy of national existence, national science as a theory of nation, hermeneutics as a theory and practice of interpretation and post-colonialism as interpretation of cultural phenomena from the standpoint of anti- and post-imperial consciousness are used in the work. The scientific novelty is that on the basis of the previous hermeneutic generalization and definition of national-existential methodology, a propaedeutic outlining of the structure of national-philosophical concepts within the frames of the essayistic interpretation of reality in Ye. Malaniuk is proposed. In the methodological sense, the writer’s essayism is structured by such concepts as nation-centrism, idealism, voluntarism, heroism, and can be considered as one of the variants (close by the experiences of D. Dontsov, Yu. Lypa, M. Mukhyn, etc.) of the Vistnyk’s national-philosophical (national-existential, nationalistic or nation-centric) hermeneutics, that is, the way of understanding, which the author by himself outlined as a “national approach”. The support of Ye. Malaniuk as a culture-philosopher and exegete on the eternal nation-centric values and criteria in his essayistic studies makes his reflections not only historically interesting, but also theoretically productive, classically important for the development of modern Ukrainian hermeneutics and humanities in general.
