Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the possible effects of corporate environmental activities on sustainable competitive advantage through the mediation of leadership factors and effective implementation strategies. Design/methodology/approach The work is essentially non-empirical review of the literature with the development of a conceptual model which can be tested in a later study. Findings The study proposes that corporate environmental activities can give firms competitive advantage. The studies also propose that stakeholders can act as pressure thereby moderating the relationship between corporate environmental activities and sustainable competitive advantage. Leadership factors and effective implementation affect competitive advantage. Research limitations/implications This study has a few limitations that must be considered and could provide guidance for future study; as this study does not address customers point of view, future study could help in the investigation in order to get a holistic view. Moreover, the study is based on the literature, and the conceptual model has not been tested. Practical implications The study proposes that good leadership and effectiveness in strategy implementation can make corporate environmental activities lead to sustainable competitive advantage. The findings of the study provide managers of firms with a possible tool in creating sustainable competitive advantage. Originality/value Despite the rapid growth in research on environmental issues in corporate world, limited studies have been conducted on how leadership factors and effectiveness of strategy implementation can influence how corporate environmental activities affect competitiveness of firms. This study makes an original contribution by proposing strategies for sustainable competitive advantage through the instrumentality of corporate environmental decisions.

Abstract:
This paper suggests a revised framework for explaining, developing and assessing international mindedness (IM). A review of the literature – that presents initiatives, challenges, and debates regarding IM – concludes with an overview of selected conceptual frameworks that have been used to develop a shared understanding of IM. When the authors applied one of these frameworks in a previous empirical study, they found during data analysis that some aspects of the framework’s key pillars played a more supportive role and that other components of IM needed further identification. As a result, this paper proposes a revision of the framework that features intercultural competence and global engagement, and identifies more specific components of these attributes, namely knowledge, skills, dispositions, and agency. The paper includes another review of the literature to emphasise how these components are important for the development, implementation, and assessment of international mindedness.

Abstract:
De International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) heeft recent het conceptual framework-project als kernproject aangemerkt. Het oorspronkelijke Framework for the preparation and presentation of financial statements (framework 1989) was aan een fundamentele herziening toe.

Abstract:
The keynote address for this session was presented by Drs. Rachael and Stephen Kaplan. They presented the concept of “Thereness” - that the knowledge that the availability of a good view of vegetation from the workplace was more important to the psychological well-being of workers than the actual use of that view. M.K. Honeyman then presented results of a study which showed that vegetation does contribute to psychological wellbeing, and the lack of vegetation may create stress. Dr. E. Matsuo, in his paper, stated that all human creative actions are motivated by the urge to either foster or to acquire, and to be kept from either of these two would prevent us from living a fulfilled life. He also cautioned that we should account for the value of horticulture as a part of human life rather than just report the dollar value of the economics of horticulture.. Dr. B. Hull then stated that community is the overlapping of the extensions of the self-images of the people within that community. A. Mukherjee reported that community, state and regional planning must be coordinated to protect existing farms, watersheds and views as urban developments spread into rural areas. With time remaining, Bilge Friedlaender made an oral presentation of her poster outlining the making of seven community gardens, and closed with a moving statement of oar responsibilities for the stewardship of our earth.

Abstract:
The objective of this study is to trace the influence of DR1 Scott's writings on the development of accounting theory and standard setting. Scott's deductive approach to the development of a conceptual framework for financial accounting and reporting was adopted by accountants on a piecemeal basis from the 1930s to the 1970s. This study traces authoritative pronouncements from the 1930s to provide evidence on Scott's forward looking ability and the influence of his ideas on the subsequent development of accounting theory. The social, economic, and political environment of the 1930s is described to show why a change in accounting standard setting was needed. The authors show that Scott envisioned the function of accounting as extending beyond mere recordkeeping, to include control of organizations relative to their cultural environment. Further, Scott's broad educational background is presented to show the breadth of Scott's ability to see accounting issues beyond bookkeeping issues. The findings show that Scott [1941] was among the first to develop a theoretical, deductive, normative framework to serve as the basis for accounting principles.

Abstract:
The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has faced difficulties in achieving and sustaining at least 70% of its aircraft availability (Av) in order to support its operational requirements. The head start for this research is to discuss with a focus group (FG) which comprise of eight officers and one moderator and supported by observation on the field. The FG highlighted that the low Av was due to the ineffectiveness and inefficiency of the through life cycle support (TLCS) as a result of weaknesses in the acquisition conceptual framework (ACF). Three research questions were put forward; Q1: Why has the RMAF not achieved its aircraft Av as its desired objectives? Q2: How do the RMAF’s present acquisition practices given a significant impact to Av? And Q3: What is the recommended ACF to be used to ensure higher aircraft Av? The mix mode method (quantitative and qualitative) data collection was used. The literature review focused on critical success factors (CSFs) in terms of acquisition, terms and definition, and present practices in the Royal Malaysian Army (RMA), the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), the Malaysian public sector, the Department of Defence of the United States of America (DoD USA), the Ministry of Defence of United Kingdom (MoD UK) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Based on the CSFs from the literature review, a preliminary ACF I was developed. The RMAF case study had focused on Type A, Type B, Type C and Type D aircraft. Data on aircraft status for FY 2011 to 2015 was gathered from the Air Support Command Headquarters (ASHQ). The survey was achieved through 16 self-administered structured questionnaires which are close-ended involving 120 out of 150 respondents from the Worker Group (WG). The interviewer collected qualitative data using 21 semi-structured questionnaires with open-ended answers on 20 respondents from the Management Group (MG). The survey and interview results were presented in a matrix table and categorized in accordance with themes and their relationships. Based on the results of the case study, the preliminary ACF I was modified to ACF II. Then, ACF II was validated by four experts who comprise of two senior officers and two senior managers from the aviation industry. After validation, the ACF II was modified to ACF III (final) and was proposed for implementation. Three project objectives were put forward. Objective 1: To identify the cause of low Av.

Abstract:
This article proposes a theoretical framework for research and pedagogy development in the context of education for sustainable development (ESD). It combines transformative learning theory with elements drawn from Buddhist and other Eastern spiritual perspectives. Firstly, it outlines the ESD context and its current gaps. Secondly, it analyzes relevant aspects of transformative learning as an educational theory in relation to ESD. Thirdly, it explores how the notions of “inner experience,” “oneness of reality,” “moral sustainable values,” and “community curriculum” arise by interweaving Buddhist/Eastern spiritual approaches with transformative learning to devise a conceptual framework. Fourthly, it presents a brief section outlining a suitable methodology for bridging together differing paradigms including its challenges and potential benefits. Finally, it considers the possible impact of said theoretical framework for innovative research and pedagogies related to sustainable learning in the Global South and internationally.

New product development, such as strategic conceptual designs, requires maximum effort, resources, expertise, time, and cost. However, due to unclear concern factors from various stages, these had changed the final design differently. Thus, this paper presents a theoretical framework model for performing design research, specifically in studying inconsistent design elements and factors that contributed to the new product development process. The triangulation of data collection from literature review, interviews and design experiments will establish the specific character of designers concern towards achieving the objective of the optimization NPD process. Abstract:
Both theoretical and conceptual frameworks play a significant role in research studies. However, majority of the researchers do not properly understand their meaning, functions and differences between them. The present study had two objectives; first, to explore the meaning, differences and functions of theoretical and conceptual framework and second, to analyze the need of theoretical framework in legal research. After the systematic review of the literature, the present study found that a theoretical framework is the map constructed with one or more theories to guide a proposed study from inception to reporting. Similarly, the study found that a conceptual framework is constructed with various ideas and concepts taken from numerous theories or empirical studies. Besides, theoretical and conceptual frameworks are similar to the extent of their function and different to the extent of their constituents elements. Moreover, the study found that doctrinal legal research needs a normative framework whereas empirical legal studies require a theoretical or conceptual framework. It is hoped that the present study will enable the researchers to properly understand the meaning, functions and differences between theoretical and conceptual framework. Abstract:
Purpose: The paper is an attempt to enter the discussion in the subject literature on elucidating problems in the non-systemic approach to managing the bank as an organization. The purpose of the paper is to identify the contradictions within which banks are managed, and which are aggravated in contingency situations. Due to the sensitive matter of the services they provide, banks are institutions that require special attention particularly now, when the COVID situation is radically testing management quality. Design/methodology/approach: The paper is the result of a literature review. Findings: The epistemological studies conducted have culminated in a framework of contradictory determinants shaping bank management during fast-paced changes in market conditions. The theoretical construct proposed may be a point of departure for empirical verification and further analytic work on the capacity of banks to reconcile the antinomies identified in the paper. Originality/value: The study makes it possible for managers to fill the knowledge gap with respect to areas and implications of the identified contradictions. Awareness of their existence and, as a result, management that supports processes for responding to a volatile environment is particularly useful in crisis situations. The proposed theoretical concept may be applied to identify antinomies or their lack in other areas of management research for various organization types.

Abstract:
IT Risk is defined as potential lost on IT process. This IT Process may vary from design, development, implementation, or migration. This paper focuses on IT risk assessment in the migration plan. While planning migration, there are some potential risks to be considered. This can help the migration team to minimize risk during migration. The risk assessment was created by using a combination of several frameworks or guidelines. ISACA IT Risk Framework [1] and Commonwealth of Virginia ITRM Guideline [2] were used to construct the framework. For the discussion, AIIM migration plan [3] was given as an example. This conceptual framework covers four main phases: creating migration plan and system diagram, mapping migration plan to risk scenario, risk assessment, and risk control.

Abstract:
Transaction Costs (TC) is a very important topic, especially in a changing work environment which has a large number of operational firms, and increasing business growth. The aim of this paper is to shed light on the transaction costs concept, and provide a conceptual framework to understand the meaning of transaction costs. Publications including articles and research papers have explained the notion of transaction costs and the theoretical issues related to them. The literature review reveals that, transaction costs are costs which arise because of the of a company‘s activities in the market , including (fees, commission, taxes) which are paid by the firm to provide a service or produce a good either to external parties or as internal costs. Therefore, according to the literature review. It emerges that firms must make a comparison between internal and external transaction costs and choose the lowest cost which enables them to increase profits. This means companies have to reduce transaction costs to the minimum level to achieve more profits and competitive advantage.

Nepal has adopted a course of federal governance by transferring expenditure and revenue functions to sub-national government in the form of fiscal federalism. Nevertheless, in recent years, fiduciary risks have been frequently discussed topics in fiscal federalism. This article provides some conceptual framework of fiduciary risks with particular focus on local finance. This descripto-analytical article briefly examines the relationship between the level of fiscal decentralization and fiduciary risks at local government as well. Despite some methodological limitations of cross-sectional regression analysis, it is found that the level of fiscal decentralization is associate with fiduciary risks. This provides some hints for precaution. Government of Nepal should help local government to improve their level of fiduciary governance.

Abstract:
Resilience is a novel but promising concept in project management studies. Resilience thinking can help projects maintain their performance through flexible, systemic and context-specific approaches once faced with disruptive events. That said, the main goal of this paper is to advance an interdisciplinary understanding of project resilience by proposing a definition and a conceptual framework of this concept. To achieve this article's objectives, the literature on project risk management is first reviewed to identify current research effort and limitations of dealing with disruptions. Consecutively, the concept of resilience in its broader applicability is explored, where two dimensions are sieved; awareness and adaptive capacity. The literature on the new concept of project resilience is also scrutinized, where its novel nature, the lack of scientific studies to conceptualize it, and its significance to project management are demonstrated. These facts helped propose a definition and a conceptual framework of project resilience, where a set of relationships are instigated, which constitute a base line to perform further disquisitions to assess their validity. Implications for future contributions advocate conceptual exchanges with more advanced research fields (e.g. organizational resilience). These exchanges can assist in the development of indicators to evaluate the ability of projects to deal with disruptive events and enhance their resilience.

Abstract:
Religion, which is one of fundamental element that affects and changes culture. One of the most important functions of religions is to unite their members around a common belief. People who share the same belief look at the world from the same window and think that they see the same things through that window. It is stated that, thanks to religious belief, people are relieved significantly by means of emotional comfort and calmness, coping with death anxiety and seeking wisdom in their illnesses. In order for nurses to know how the individual's religious beliefs will affect their care; they are expected the relationship between religion, culture and health. Westbeerg proposed an innovative nursing role for faith communities in the mid-1980s, and interest in this area has grown exponentially over the past 25 years. In this review, it is proposed to develop the field by creating a conceptual framework for the field of "Interreligious Nursing", which is based on religion integrated care.

Abstract:
The article attempts to provide a primary description of cognitive foundations of creating a “digital” anthropology. We are talking about the genesis of such a modern philosophy of man, the subject of which should be the human state in the era of rapid progress of “smart” technologies. Defining the primary conceptual framework of the new anthropology requires answering the following fundamental questions. Firstly, what should be the conceptual framework of humanitarian research aimed at understanding the nature and consequences of the digital revolution? Secondly, what is the specificity of such a study, if it claims to be a humanitarian expertise in the broad sense of this concept? Thirdly, what anthropic contexts of the development of modern advanced technologies need to be analyzed at the first step in the formation of a relevant humanitarian expertise? The article shows that the conceptual framework of research in the field of humanitarian analysis of digital innovation is set by (1) a special subject matter, (2) the structure of this subject matter, (3) reflection of methodology, (4) self-reflection, (5) the conscious responsibility of the researcher and (6) the pragmatic nature of discourse. It is proposed to consider “artificial intelligence” primarily in the context of speech practices that act as a breeding ground for both optimism and pessimism in relation to the anthropic prospects of “digitalization”. The thesis that “digital anthropomorphism” is the result of the reduction of human existence to a “program” and consists in the imitation of human mental practice has been substantiated. The authors conclude that the humanitarian expertise of technological innovations should be based on the following fundamental statement: the “digital revolution” with all its effects is yet another way of defining man in his own human existence.
