The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how existing jointed reinforced concrete pavements (JRCPs) are incorporated in the design of new and/or widened lanes as part of the Easing Sydney's Congestion (ESC) Program. The ESC Program is one of the Transport for New South Wales' initiatives to meet the increasing demand for infrastructure in the state.
