Abstract:
This issue is a collection of 13 selected papers. These papers are presented at the Sixth International Conference on Analysis and Applied Mathematics (ICAAM 2022) organized by Bahcesehir University, Turkey, Institute of Mathematics and Mathematical Modelling, Kazakhstan, and Analysis & PDE Center, Ghent University, Belgium. The meeting was held on October 31 – November 6, 2022, in Antalya, Turkey. The conference is organized biannually. Previous conferences were held in Gumushane, Turkey in 2012; in Shymkent, Kazakhstan in 2014; in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2016; in Cyprus, Turkey in 2018 and 2020; in Antalya, Turkey in 2022. The proceedings of ICAAM 2012, ICAAM 2014, ICAAM 2016, ICAAM 2018, and ICAAM 2020 were published in AIP Conference Proceedings (American Institute of Physics) and in some rating scientific journals. Proceedings of ICAAM 2022 will be published in the world-renowned AIP Conference Proceeding Series. The main aim of the International Conferences on Analysis and Applied Mathematics (ICAAM) is to bring mathematicians working in the area of analysis and applied mathematics together to share new trends of applications of mathematics. In mathematics, the developments in the field of applied mathematics open new research areas in analysis and vice versa. That is why, we planned to found the conference series to provide a forum for researches and scientists to communicate their recent developments and to present their original results in various fields of analysis and applied mathematics. This issue presents papers by authors from different countries: Azerbaijan, Iraq, Russian Federation, Cyprus, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan. Especially we are pleased with the fact that many articles are written by co-authors who work in different countries. We are confident that such international integration provides an opportunity for a significant increase in the quality and quantity of scientific publications. Special thanks to Charyyar Ashyralyyev (Turkey) for their valuable assistance. Finally, but not least, we would like to thank the Editorial board of the «Bulletin of the Karaganda University. Mathematics series», who kindly provided an opportunity for the formation of this special issue.

Abstract:
This is our 2022 International Conference on Company Management, Accounting and Marketing (CMAM 2022) which is virtually broadcasted from Munich, Germany on November 26-27, 2022. Due to pandemic Covid-19 which led to travel restriction, we conducted the conference remotely for researchers to present papers in company management, business statistics, economic systems, entrepreneurship, finance, investment, accounting and marketing strategies which are well represented in this proceedings volume.
We believe that the participants of CMAM 2022 have gained knowledge and built networking with all researchers in the same field. We also hope this collection of papers can benefit the readers and continue to play a large part in the future of conferences. We ensure that a thorough peer review process was carried out and administered by the proceedings editors.
The organizers would like to thank the technical committee and expert reviewers for realizing this proceedings publication. We also thank the local organizers and conference office. They were very committed and worked hard in making this conference a success. Last but not least, we wish to thank all the participants who contributed and attended the conference which made the conference a successful event.

Abstract:
This volume contains papers from twelve authors who were invited to speak at the Prehistoric Society's conference on Palaeolithic Art held at the Oxford University Department for External Studies in November 1989. Such conferences are a regular feature of the Society's activities and are organized to review and debate important themes in prehistory. In this instance interest in Palaeolithic art had already been heightened through the Society's study tours to the Dordogne (in 1980) and Northern Spain (in 1987). Despite this interest, no major conference on the theme had been organized in Britain since the Society's London Conference of April 1967 on ‘Prehistoric Art in the Western Mediterranean to the Second Millennium BC’. Unfortunately, the papers of that conference were not published and it is difficult now to assess their contribution to the subject. By contrast, some of the Society's subsequent conferences have been published by commercial houses (for example, Mellars 1978; Chapman, Kinnes and Randsborg 1981; Champion and Megaw 1985; Coles and Lawson 1987). This volume marks a different approach, namely for the Society to publish the proceedings of its own conference. Hopefully, this will enable members who were unable to participate in the conference to benefit from the expertise of the authors, and encourage others with an interest in prehistory to join the Society.

Abstract:
The proceedings of the International Conference on Logic Programming (ICLP) have had several publishers, including MIT Press and Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Beginning in 2010, the proceedings have been published in a dual format: with regular papers contained in a special issue of Theory and Practice of Logic Programming (TPLP), and technical communications as a Dagstuhl LIPics series publication. The reason for the change was that compared to researchers in other fields, computer scientists publish more in conferences or symposia and less in journals. The thinking went that since many ICLP papers are of journal quality – or nearly so – why not publish them in a journal straight away? And why not TPLP?

Aduku, Kuku J. "Can web indicators be used to estimate the citation impact of conference papers in engineering?" Thesis, University of Wolverhampton, 2019. http://hdl.handle.net/2436/622102.

Full text
Abstract:
Although citation counts are widely used to support research evaluation, they can only reflect academic impacts, whereas research can also be useful outside academia. There is therefore a need for alternative indicators and empirical studies to evaluate them. Whilst many previous studies have investigated alternative indicators for journal articles and books, this thesis explores the importance and suitability of four web indicators for conference papers. These are readership counts from the online reference manager Mendeley and citation counts from Google Patents, Wikipedia and Google Books. To help evaluate these indicators for conference papers, correlations with Scopus citations were evaluated for each alternative indicator and compared with corresponding correlations between alternative indicators and citation counts for journal articles. Four subject areas that value conferences were chosen for the analysis: Computer Science Applications; Computer Software Engineering; Building & Construction Engineering; and Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering. There were moderate correlations between Mendeley readership counts and Scopus citation counts for both journal articles and conference papers in Computer Science Applications and Computer Software. For conference papers in Building & Construction Engineering and Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, the correlations between Mendeley readers and citation counts are much lower than for journal articles. Thus, in fields where conferences are important, Mendeley readership counts are reasonable impact indicators for conference papers although they are better impact indicators for journal articles. Google Patent citations had low positive correlations with citation counts for both conference papers and journal articles in Software Engineering and Computer Science Applications. There were negative correlations for both conference papers and journal articles in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. However, conference papers in Building and Construction Engineering attracted no Google Patent citations. This suggests that there are disciplinary differences but little overall value for Google Patent citations as impact indicators in engineering fields valuing conferences. Wikipedia citations had correlations with Scopus citations that were statistically significantly positive only in Computer Science Applications, whereas the correlations were not statistically significantly different from zero in Building & Construction Engineering, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering and Software Engineering. Conference papers were less likely to be cited in Wikipedia than journal articles were in all fields, although the difference was minor in Software Engineering. Thus, Wikipedia citations seem to have little value in engineering fields valuing conferences. Google Books citations had positive significant correlations with Scopus-indexed citations for conference papers in all fields except Building & Construction Engineering, where the correlations were not statistically significantly different from zero. Google Books citations seemed to be most valuable impact indicators in Computer Science Applications and Software Engineering, where the correlations were moderate, than in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, where the correlations were low. This means that Google Book citations are valuable indicators for conference papers in engineering fields valuing conferences. Although evidence from correlation tests alone is insufficient to judge the value of alternative indicators, the results suggest that Mendeley readers and Google Books citations may be useful for both journal articles and conference papers in engineering fields that value conferences, but not Wikipedia citations or Google Patent citations.

Abstract:
This study seeks to analyse the evolution of the European International Business Academy's Annual Conferences between the years 1999 and 2011. A collection of the 2221 documents presented across the defined period was processed with the use of a computer-aided tool - the Latent Dirichlet Allocation, powered by artificial intelligence systems - to facilitate the content analysis. The study utilized the R software environment as the platform to apply the method, with the support of a group of compatible libraries to support in the pre-processing, topic modelling and result plotting stages of this study. The method was able to identify 30 underlying research topics across all the documents, and a label was manually assigned to each topic according to its overall theme. Results show an overall growth in number of papers presented, as well as new authors throughout the years, indicating an increase in degree of openness in the Association's Annual Conferences. Specific research topics have also shown to be more discussed across the documents than others, and research on the topics of "Dynamic capabilities, resource-based view and firm internationalization" and "Institutional approaches to International Business research and theory" showed to be trending in recent years of the Conferences. With little need for human intervention, this study was able to successfully apply an automated method to identify the Association's research themes and their evolution throughout the years, reducing researcher's bias and allowing for the efficient analysis of large volumes of text content.
info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Full text
Abstract:
Challenges arising from an increasing traffic demand, limited resource availability and growing quality expectations of the customers can only be met successfully, if each transport mode is regarded as an intelligent transportation system itself, but also as part of one intelligent transportation system with “intelligent” intramodal and intermodal interfaces. This topic is well reflected in the Third International Conference on “Models and Technologies for Intelligent Transportation Systems” which took place in Dresden 2013 (previous editions: Rome 2009, Leuven 2011). With its variety of traffic management problems that can be solved using similar methods and technologies, but with application specific models, objective functions and constraints the conference stands for an intensive exchange between theory and practice and the presentation of case studies for all transport modes and gives a discussion forum for control engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians and other researchers and practitioners. The present book comprises fifty short papers accepted for presentation at the Third Edition of the conference. All submissions have undergone intensive reviews by the organisers of the special sessions, the members of the scientific and technical advisory committees and further external experts in the field. Like the conference itself the proceedings are structured in twelve streams: the more model-oriented streams of Road-Bound Public Transport Management, Modelling and Control of Urban Traffic Flow, Railway Traffic Management in four different sessions, Air Traffic Management, Water Traffic and Traffic and Transit Assignment, as well as the technology-oriented streams of Floating Car Data, Localisation Technologies for Intelligent Transportation Systems and Image Processing in Transportation. With this broad range of topics this book will be of interest to a number of groups: ITS experts in research and industry, students of transport and control engineering, operations research and computer science. The case studies will also be of interest for transport operators and members of traffic administration.

"Greening the RDP: people, environment, development: report of proceedings [of the] Environmental Justice Networking Forum Constitutive Conference, Kempton Park Conference Centre, 25-27 November 1994." Environmental Justice Networking Forum, 1994. http://hdl.handle.net/10962/69373.

Abstract:
The Environmental Justice Networking Forum’s first national conference had three major objectives: to constitute the organisation on a national basis; to make policy recommendations regarding the implementation of the RDP both for submission to government and as a guide to action by EJNFparticipants; to build and disseminate the workof thelDRC/ANC/ COSATU/ SACP/ SANCO International Mission on Environmental Policy (referred to here as the Mission). EJNF was in itiated at the Earthlife Africa International Environment Conference in 1992 at Pietermaritzburg. That conference mandated an interim national steering committee to guide a process of establishing an organised voice within civil society for environmental justice. It stipulated that the organisation should be formed on a regional basis leading up to the national constitution of EJNF at a national conference. The EJNF conference is thus the culmination of a two year process. During that time, meetings were held to establish EJNF in six regions: Gauteng, Northern Transvaal, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu- Natal and OFS. Participating organisations include women’s, rural, youth, religious and environmental organisations, unions, civics and service NGOs. Each region sent delegations to the national conference. Two other regions, Eastern Transvaal and Northern Cape, also sent delegations which will form the focus groups for establishing EJNF in those regions. Regional EJNF participant organisations also elected members to the national steering committee. They took office at the constitutive conference. The minutes of the constitutive session of the conference are not included here but are available from the EJNF national office. The EJNF delegates were joined by a number of guest delegates for the conference on Greening the RDP. They included members of national organisations which represent or work with the constitutuencies which EJNF is developing and researchers working in the sectors covered by the conference. Government was represented by Ministers Kader Asmal (Water Affairs) and Derek Hanekom (Land Affairs), by provincial MECs, by members of standing committees in parliament and provincial legislatures andby ministry or department officials.

Abstract:
AbstractThe purpose of this chapter is to address possibilities and missing links by looking into some contemporary knowledge management research. For this aim we analyse and compare all the papers in the proceedings of European Conference on Knowledge Management (ECKM) in Barcelona (2017), Padua (2018), Lisbon (2019), and the digital conference in 2020. The approach uses a philosophy of science framework and compares this to the content of the research papers. We will discuss the findings in four representations of knowledge, two typologies of concepts, and four paradigmatic classifications to open up for creative future explorations in knowledge management research. The results indicate a conference based upon as-is knowledge and less upon new and often unsolvable problems. There are however more critical and green papers in the 2020 conference opening up for new perspectives in the choice of methodology, problems, and knowledge.

Abstract:
There are significant scatters in indexed conference papers quantity in different fields of science and countries that are of a different nature. This paper proposes a methodology for calculating disciplinary and institutional shifts of publishing in conference proceedings and its application to country analysis based on Scopus data. A disciplinary shift is the deviation of the conference paper share of a country from the world average, which is caused by the scientific specialization of this country. The institutional shift is the deviation of the conference paper share of a country from the world average, caused by the national specifics of the science policies, in particular, excessive stimulation of publication activity. The study confirms previously observed institutional shifts in the Czech Republic, Russia, and Indonesia, and identifies several more countries where there may also be distortions, caused by science policies.

Abstract:
This report summarizes and synthesizes OpenSciEd research published as of August 2022, addressing two questions about OpenSciEd: (1) To what extent do teachers enact OpenSciEd units with integrity to its distinctive principles? and (2) To what extent do OpenSciEd teacher tools and professional learning experiences support teachers to enact OpenSciEd with integrity? This review includes 16 publications (journal articles, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, conference papers, doctoral dissertations, and published reports). Five of the papers focus on the design of OpenSciEd materials and do not have an empirical focus, seven have an empirical focus on classroom enactment, and four have an empirical focus on teacher supports. All but one of the papers were co-authored by affiliates of the OpenSciEd middle school development consortium, and all but one focus on the middle school grade band.

Abstract:
This preface introduces the selected and revised papers presented at the 10th International Conference on Monitoring, Modeling & Management of Emergent Economy (M3E2 2022), held online in Ukraine, on November 17-18, 2022. The conference aimed to bring together researchers, practitioners, and students from various fields to exchange ideas, share experiences, and discuss challenges and opportunities in applying computational intelligence and data science for the innovation economy. The innovation economy is a term that describes the emerging paradigm of economic development that is driven by knowledge, creativity, and innovation. It requires new approaches and methods for solving complex problems, discovering new opportunities, and creating value in various domains of science, business, and society. Computational intelligence and data science are two key disciplines that can provide such approaches and methods by exploiting the power of data, algorithms, models, and systems to enable intelligent decision making, learning, adaptation, optimization, and discovery. The papers in this proceedings cover a wide range of topics related to computational intelligence and data science for the innovation economy. They include theoretical foundations, novel techniques, and innovative applications. The papers were selected and revised based on the feedback from the program committe members and reviewers who ensured their high quality. We would like to thank all the authors who submitted their papers to M3E2 2022. We also appreciate the keynote speakers who shared their insights and visions on the current trends and future directions of computational intelligence and data science for the innovation economy. We acknowledge the support of our sponsors, partners, and organizers who made this conference possible despite the challenging circumstances caused by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
