Full textAccording to the conflict elaboration theory (perez et mugny, 1993), indirect majority influence results from a personnal elaboration of conflict, by the mean of a validation process. We present two experiments, using a non ambiguous objective task, defined by the conflict elaboration theory, which tests a different hypothesis : indirect majority influence would be the result of a dissonance due to a social disagreement reduction or the result of a post-decision dissonance reduction, resulting from the conflicting choices that the subjects must take in an influence situation (to adopt the source's responses or to keep their own ones). These choices produce dissonance because each of the alternatives are both related to negative cognitive elements and positive cognitive elements. In these two experiments, several variables are operationnalised (among them, denial and the opportunity for the subjects to express themself on the direct dimension during the influence phase). The first experiment confirms the hypothesis related to the post-decision dissonance and invalidates the hypothesis related to the dissonance due to a social disagreement. The second experiment, operationnalizing independance and interdependance contexts, supports the post-decision dissonance explanation. These two experiments confirm the hypothesis related to the post-decision dissonance, and bring some new informations about the validation process. We knew what were the conditions of appearance of the validation process : the reason why it starts up is now explained by a dissonance reduction. Moreover, our results bring some new informations about denial, showing the impact of two others variables (direct expression vs no direct expression and independance vs interdependance contexts) on it

Full textThe relevance of the concept of cognitive conflict to account for the development of logical knowledge, and, more particularly, of the proportionality notion, is examined. From an analysis of the theorical and experimental background, it appears that referring to conflict to explain the elaboration of new knowledge results from the use of a macro-genetic scale of observation which masks the processes really involved in the genesis of a notion. This hypothesis is experimentally tested with the proportionality notion. Three experiments have been conducted to identify the developmental steps of this notion and to clarify the processes of transition from one step to another. The results show that resorting to the concept of conflict do not account for the transition from one step to another. Moreover, such a resort masks the part the processes based on analogical schemata of representation play. Data are examined in light of the current models which make a distinction between two processing systems : one system which is subordinated to environmental constraints and the other not. Such a distinction seems relevant and allows to specify the questions that arise from a micro-genetic approach of the development

Full textThis study concerns the consequences of the representation that one holds of the self and of others in social influence phenomena. In fact, researches in anthro logy and history show that the vision of a person as an independent and autonomous individual is far from universal but ideological and culture-bound. The research was carried out to demonstrate experimentally that the representation of a person affected significantly the influence process. The conflict constitutes the core notion of the constructionnist theory of social influence. The impact of persuasion depends on the way the conflict is resolved by the subject according to his her social representation of the world. In this framewoek, this study attached a particular interest to the psychologization process. It is argued that this collective strategy of resistance againt social change is strongly linked to the individualistic vision of the human being: the less one holds an idiosyncratic image of the self and of the others, the more one tends to dissociate the content of the message and the influence source, and then to examine the content itself independently of the nature of the source

Full textEconomic, political, demographic and cultural pressures have brought about a massive transfer of populations from "the south" to "the north". Thus, large groups, with differing cultures, find themselves in a situation of "cultural shock". We put forward the theory that the time spent in France favoured the adoption of new family values amongst the congolese students living in France during the years 1983-1985, according to their rank in the phratry, the milieu from wich they originated (urban as opposed to rural) and the length of time spent in France. This change in values has led to intra - and interpersonal conflicts. This theory has been only partly substantiated, since the time spent in France does not encourage a total acceptance of the french family values, some restraints remaining, depending on the above-mentioned variables, not without some suffering and conflicts. Finally, to resolve these conflicts, negotiation and compromise are more frequent than rupture. In this study, it has appeared clear that the group as an object of emotional investment plays an important role: the exterior prestigious group as (France), keenly sought after, fantasized at first, then the interior group (con- go) restored, and later reinvested. Thus it is a process of maturing, comparable to that of the crisis of adolescence, in its thematic, search for identity, rejection of origins and the ideal elsewhere

Full textWe consider parental separation to be a significant event for the child. Even when most parental conflicts occur prior to the separation, this very specific event can trigger a crisis or conflict situation that often hinders the child's psychological development. The "relationship building process" as well as the child's self interest can be impaired. We will study a mediation service as a third party, along with the general characteristics of the "problem child". We will discuss transitional space, the experience of passivity and, more specifically, the "topographic" dimension as a framework. We will examine both the personal relationship with others as well as the fusion process. We will seek a better understanding of specific aspects of this circumstance by taking into account the conflict situation, résistance and perverse behaviour

Then, i was lead to study how the professionals working with deaf children were touched (anguished, affected), consciously or unconsciously, by deaf children. It appeared that number of the positions adopted by the professionals were aimed at avoiding an extremely perturbing experience that i name "echo effect". Due to not-shared voices, the echo effect makes the professional alone face to his own voice and his own image; it provokes a fall of the symbolic and an invasion by the imaginary

Full textThe citizenship today draws the attention of political establishment as well as media. Its complexity comes from the reason that the citizenship is situated in the intersection of the individual motivations and the institutional requests. This work suggests the analysis of the perceptions citizens through the revealing of two models of thoughts and behaviours historically opposite: republican and liberal. The study of the perceptions citizens conclude that the domination of the liberal model and a predominant tension between involvement and conformity. Then, this work attempted to demonstrate the institutional transmission and the social valuation of the liberal model and its characteristics. The main characteristic comes from the uselessness of the public-spirited involvement for the preservation of the social and economic order. The tension is explained by the contradiction between the social desirability of the involvement and its uselessness transmitted by the social power. The end of this work underlines the possibility of detecting factors of involvement (clear-sightedness of the social submission, the perception of a leader and an opponent), then to infer them. We verified that they had an impact on the various constituents of the attitude citizen

Full textThe affinity between the human psyche and the text's "psyche", when observed as a patient's, reveals a mental structure. The finding of such structure holds the fundamentals of this study, which examines the relationship between loss and conflict. The study examines more than thirty Israeli poems to probe and question the loss of the psyche's "safe place", and the ensuing damage to defense mechanisms. Poetry, as a unique mode of human expression, provides the poet access to unconscious conflicts and repressed feelings; it reveals them in an organized method, so that the reader can experience them in terms of identification, projection, and insight. The license for personal interpretation allows a bond between the human psyche and the text's psyche. The various images in the poems discussed examine the conflicts that surface when the "safe place" is damaged, as well as the psychic movements that arise in order to restore psychic balance. The mental structure presented in this study revolves around three key concepts – "loss", "conflict", and "the creative process" – and showcases the possibilities that the latter provides

Full textThis research focuses on the dynamics of fusion and dispersion throughout Guadeloupean social and cultural groups. The unresolved conflict inherited from slavery and colonization has become latent and underlies all kinds of social relationships. This conflict, which is at the origin of Guadeloupean society and culture, now encompasses dynamic dispersion. It is therefore a matter of diverse conflicting forms unfolding within the economic, social, cultural and political fields that emerge through the cultural fabric. This conflict, originally between the dominated and the dominant or oneself and the other, has been incorporated into the culture, and is shaped and transmitted by its bias. The study of representations and practices related to consummation, perspectives of social change, collective memory and hierarchical relationships at work, captures the reproduction and transmission of certain interpretations of reality, patterns of behavior and ways of relating to each other. This conflict is left with now opposing value systems, cultural and identity references, paradigms of thought and even figures as the real protagonists disappeared at the end of colonization, in fact, these are contradictory internal and transverse forces within this society. Since the politico-cultural assimilation that took place in France with the law of departmentalization of 1946, the boundaries between oneself and the other have become partially blurred, reinforcing feelings of déréalisation and the threat of the extinction of the collective. The dynamics of the unification of the socio-cultural body then occurs in adversity, in a power struggle relationship with another. This phenomenon leads to forms of re-centering of identity and attempts to evict the other in oneself. The dominant figure is thus projected outside itself. This recurring schematic is particularly highlighted in the notions of pwofitasyon, of mass and neg identities resulting in attempts to produce cultural authenticity and the appropriation of power. It is therefore also a matter of studying the parameters within which individual and collective subjects are constructed, identities produced and their relationships, and how these subjects are created with diversity to construct an existence of oneself. In such a context, the ongoing management of this conflict is manifested by the fluidity of positions, porous references and multiple allegiances and cultural tools that give shape to the syncretic process. Thus, this transversal and global conflict resulted in the emergence of peripheral subjects, whose existence is determined by the imbalance in the relationship with the other. And because these subjects have included a part of the other, they only exist within this conflicting relationship, their quest for identity consists not just of positioning oneself at the margin of the other, but also at the margin of themselves

Full textIn this thesis, we test the hypothesis that through the self-regulation implemented during the pretend play, it is possible to train the processes of cognitive control processing and thus accelerate its development. This thesis integrates an original approach aimed at understanding the effects of age and the effects of training on the same cognitive and cognitive measures of cognitive control. We are interested in highlighting behavioral and electrophysiological markers of the development of cognitive control through a conflict task in school and preschool children. We then use these markers with preschool children to characterize the effects of ecological cognitive control training using the same assessment task. We have demonstrated that through a conflict management task with different levels of interference, the amplitude of theta neuro-oscillatory activity allowed to characterize the control engagement dynamics as well as the intensity of the generated conflict. In addition, the latency of this activity provides information on the maturation of the underlying networks. These results also underline the interest of understanding cognitive control through interference management to characterize finely the processing treatment underlying its implementation. The performances suggest an improvement of the processes of treatment of the cognitive control with the age both at the behavioral and neuronal level. Older children seem to be better able to implement conflict management and monitoring skills. On the other hand, the results observed during the second evaluation in preschool children suggest an adaptation in the implementation of the control. Training improves the maturity of pretend play skills. However, more general measures of cognitive control or self-regulation show no benefit for the experimental group compared to the control group. Finally, our results enrich current knowledge on conflict management in childhood

Full textThis is a thesis on an experimental study of one of the resistances to minority innovation. This resistance consists of the creation of a psychological determinism, a causal link between a social behaviour or an ideological position, and the corresponding psycological caracteristics: the psycologization the main efects of our experiments are the following: 1) the selective action of psycologization which decreases minority influence without affecting majority influence. 2) the function of psycologization as a conventionalized code of reading as far as the level of active minorities social representation is concerned. 3) the specificity of psycologization (unlike other resistance "strategies") which doesn't counteract only immediate and or direct minority influence, but also indirect or delayed influence: i. E. Empede the actualization of conversion phenomenon. 4) close links between psycologization and psycology's social representations: psycologization aquires its resistance caracteristics (and efects) at social change, while creating the psycological profile of minority "grouo", and not while creating the psycological caracteristics diferenciating minority members among themselves

Full textSerotonin (5-HT) is thought to be involved in anxiety-related disorders, and dopamine (DA) in response to stress. Using an intracerebral microdialysis technique, variations of extracellular 5-HT (5-HText) or DA (DAext) levels were studied in rats subjected to benzodiazepine-sensitive paradigms. Two operant conflict procedures and a test of neophobia have been validated. Cortical DAext and 5-HText levels, and hippocampal 5-HText levels were modified neither during the punished period of conflict procedures, nor in rats given diazepam, at a dose which induced an anxiolytic-like release of punished responding. Buspirone had no effect on behavioral blockade and did not modify hippocampal 5-HText levels. A modest increase in cortical DAext was observed during food eating and in the open field test of neophobia. Thus, mesocortical DA and mesocorticolimbic 5-HT systems seem not to play a pivotal role in the anxiolytic effect of benzodiazepines, at least as it is approached in conflict procedures. In the striatum, 5-HText levels increased during the open field test and during the punished period of the operant conflict procedure in a subgroup of rats classified as ‘low responders’. Both biochemical and behavioral modifications were counteracted by diazepam. Striatal 5-HText levels did not change in 'high responder' rats or in rats given non contingent footshocks. 5,7-DHT lesion studies suggested that the 5-HT fibers afferent to the striatum are not solely responsible for the punishment-induced behavioral blockade. However these fibers are clearly involved in the adaptation of the animals to low rhythm of reward. The anticonflict activity of benzodiazepines might therefore be attributed to a reduction in 5-HT transmission in motor structures, in keeping with clinical data suggesting an important role of 5-HT in the control of impulsive-related behaviour

Full textCreativity defined as the ability to think of something original, and adaptive concerning task constraints is crucial during circumstances in which individuals must generate new solutions to solve an unknown problem. In such circumstances, people propose solutions that are built on the most common and accessible knowledge within a specific domain leading to a fixation effects whereas other classes of more creative solutions could be explore. According to our triple systems model of creativity, the difficulty to generate creative ideas results from a specific failure to inhibit intuitive responses leading to fixation effect generated automatically by the intuitive and heuristic System 1 and activate the deliberative and analytic system 2 to explore more creative solutions. This model posits that inhibitory control is a core process to overcoming fixation effects and generating original solutions in a creative task. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to provide empirical evidences in support of the triple system model of creativity by using an interdisciplinary approach from the field of experimental developmental psychology to the field of cognitive neuroscience. In a series of five experimental studies in children, adolescents and adults, we have demonstrated that 1) fixation effects develop with age and changes with the introduction of external cues such as examples of solutions 2) changing the individuals' representation of the creative task using a priming procedure can stimulate creative ideas generation in adolescents and adults, 3) overcoming fixation to explore creative solutions involves inhibitory control and the ability to detect that initial responses that come quickly to mind are not original, 4) this conflict detection ability develops with age during adolescence and 5) overcoming fixation is related to modulations of brain networks activations within the frontal and the parietal cortex involve in cognitive control and semantic associations respectively

Full textOur study offers a circumstantial look on the recognition and treatment of conflicting loyalties among migrant families: map these conflicts, their variations and perpetuation and establish its geography in the family space are our main objectives. At the meeting of the two territories, loyalty and migration, we imagine a diagram-encounter clever device to promote the emergence of migrant families specificity and adequate to justify changes in their care on the theoretical, methodological and technical levels. Being an exploratory study, we found it appropriate to establish a body of empirical cases studies and retained four types of therapeutic sessions: an individual psychotherapy, a family therapy, a consultation of ethnopsychiatry and a meeting of clinical supervision. Besides the fact that loyalty described by Boszormeny-Nagy is deep to express and reveal its nature and characteristics, our research updates the figure of the child-rhizome, a new psycho-social type, combination of complex elements with loyalties to humans but also to 'things'. The rhizome-child questions the clinic and urges it to pivot redeploying thus its problems, deterritorializing its concepts and renewing its technique. A new clinic is founded at that time, and then emerges: the Clinic of Multiplicity. Mediation Clinic and Clinic of interface, it is concerned with the heterogenesis from multiple. Pragmatic and technical challenge posed by the 'hold on' and the transformation of this multiplicity leads us to propose an operational concept, the assembly. Minimal unit of co-operation between heterogeneous, assembly is a sensitive entity placed by the researcher at the level of a site –facts ou statements-: it allows the researcher, guided by his questions-problems, to feel and perceive a multiplicity, to be taken with it and to take action to transform it. Using a glossary-toolbox closing our research, we try to follow and describe the 'gestures' of the therapist to open and 'to put into becoming' these assemblies of multiple loyalties

Full textThe purpose of this thesis is to put forward new reflections regarding the opposition of the instinctual drives in classical Freudian theory. After having examined the construction and outcomes of the drives in Freudian metapsychology and exposing two new approaches to understand the death drive, we propose to unearth a genealogy of conflict theory within psychoanalysis, and a new theorization for Freud's model of dual drives in antagonism. In its place, we develop a ternary structure (A, I2 and Eros) that lets us think of the drives in their function of the in-between, establishing them as a bipolarity in constant tension. Metapsychologically speaking, two antagonistic drives unfold, one having a tendency towards aggression (heterogenization, 12) while the other one would show a tendency towards regression (homogenization, A), but neither of them would have any bonding capacity by themselves. In this conception, Eros would be the third force that assures the bonding function and the articulation of the opposing forces. Hence, in clinical terms, an antagonistic phenomenon should be seen as a paradoxical knot constituted by the holding together of a movement that bonds, and a movement that separates. Finally, we develop the notion of the body as a homeostatic system (notably regarding the questions of rhythm, pleasure, and the rhythmic modulation of excitatory tensions) allowing the articulation and entanglement of the opposing drives A and In accordance to Winnicott's transitional object model, putting together the entanglement-separation of the drives and the transitional space, we construct the concept of •entrication• as a function of the • in-between•

As a school psychologist, my observations led me to the hypothesis that the cultural shock, because of the immigration, could give rise for the children to a disorganized traumatism leading to various pathologies. Then the child is brought to built himself in his new culture with more or less happiness. This hypothesis is proved by the detailed study of four cases. A six-year old child from the antilles, nevrotic, refusing to leran to read in relation to the maternal thaumaturgy ; an egyptian child, six years old, suffering from castration anguish, a thrity-year old french woman whose son had aftermath from a cerebral traumatism, showing suicidal tendencies after a succession of viols ; an african chil struck down by mutism becazuse of the difference of his culture. The study of these cases takes into account the cultural importance of the traumatism. The ethnopsychiatric approach of the psychological consultation as it was conceived by g. Devereux and t. Nathan was proved to be efficient in the recovery of these cases. Full textBoth Alexis Leger’s life and Saint-John Perse’s works abound with symptoms of a dual personality. In his works the poet expresses himself through real-life people (i. E. Historical figures and writers) as well as horses and birds which become totem-like symbols. As various fusions of “men of action” and “men of dreams”, his male characters are a mirror image of himself revealing other facets of his split personality. His woman doubles oscillate between a quest for self-identity and alterity whilst his other characters echo his poetry’s main voice. That the biography and notes in the Pléiade’s Œuvres Complètes edition were written by Perse himself as an anonymous editor offers still another clue to the poet’s multiple faces and projected ego. Psychoanalytically speaking, this fragmenting effect reflects the narcissism that pervades his work and which evolves in a triangular structure fusing Perse’s idealized self with the mother and father figures. Interpreted positively as a sharing of vital energy and the growth of a wide and multiple triumphant self, it can also be understood negatively with the motifs associated with mime, mask and monkey thereby implying elusiveness, boundlessness and even self emptiness

Full textThis dissertation deals with "the Chinese mind", which means the national character of China. Its main argument is that psychological variable is the key to understand and to explain how China behaves. In fact, the author uses a "psycho-cultural" approach to analyze Chinese political behaviors and diplomatic crises. To do so, two heads of State, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, are studied. The behaviors of these Chinese leaders are therefore supposed to refer to the State’s behaviors. Empirically, two exercises are involved to psychologically study these political figures: their biography for one part (in the first part of the dissertation) and their conducts during bilateral crises for another (in the second part of the dissertation) – The author collects hundreds of public and private speeches of the two Chinese leaders in order to scientifically analyze their psychological patterns. Alongside the content analysis, the author heavily relies on a quantitative method, the discourse analysis, to decode the speeches of Jiang and Hu from 1989 to 2011 and to assess, at a distance, the two Chinese leaders’ psychocultural profile. Seven concepts the most pronounced in the political culture of China are selected in the exercise. These elements are treated as indices to generate quantitative data from speeches and to test the validity of such “psychocultural” hypothesis. These seven concepts are: nationalism-patriotism, harmony, hierarchy, filial piety, face, guanxi (interpersonal relationship), and the fear of luan (chaos). Combined qualitative and quantitative analysis, this research successfully proves the constant influence of "psychoculture" in China’s behaviors, particularly in the circumstances of diplomatic crises

Full textOur objective consists in proving that affective interaction between african mothers and children at the present-time does not favour the child's development. When compared with traditional family life in africa with offered a relational life riche in affective, kinesthetic, sensorial and social stimuli, modern disjointed african families do nothing to contribute to the favourable development of most young people. These are problems which have been analyzed in the first part of the thesis using interactional models and the works of psychanalysts, systems analysts and ethologists. The second part concentrates on research carried out among 400 camerounian mothers from bamileke, bassa, beti and groupe-nord, ethic groups. The results of which have been analyzed using the khi2 test. This test has enable the stated hypotheses to be verified and proves that present-day relationschips are disadvantageous to children. In the third part we show the contradictory influences of traditions and modernity on the socialization efforts of mothers and the strains that they undergo. To conclude, we make some propositions for a more appropriate environment for the children education and affective development of african children

Full textAccess to information is essential for several reasons. First, it is a way to create knowledge. Economists consider that information has economic value because it allows individuals to make choice that yield higher expected payoffs or expected utility than they would obtain from choices made in the absence of information. Access to information is also essential to the health of democracy. It first ensures that citizens make responsible, informed choices rather than acting out of ignorance. It also serves a “checking function”: having access to information allows citizens to check and to pass judgement on the conduct of their elected representatives. While information is easy to create and spread, it is in the meantime easy to manipulate. It is thus crucial that individuals have the skills to evaluate information and its sources critically before incorporating selected information into their knowledge base ad value system. This dissertation deals precisely with these issues, by exploring the role that information has along three axes. It first assesses the effect of an intervention aimed at informing parents about parenting practices on early child development outcomes (Chapter 1). It then investigates the impact of providing fact-checks of statements by candidates on voters’ electoral preferences and perceptions (Chapter 2). It finally explores the link between political ideology and the reliability of homicide data in countries with local conflicts (Chapter 3)

Full textThis thesis seeks to study the relationship between fathers and daughters in a postmodern patriarchal society. Choosing the Syrian society as its main case study, the paper aims to crystallize a better understanding of how such relationships are established as well as exploring their characteristics, consequences, and effects on adolescence in general, and on teenagers in particular. It also focuses on the transformation effects from the current world, depending on subjective construction, expressions of suffering inherent to human conditions in the new symbolic order that imposes liberalism on interpersonal relations, galloping globalized economy ; and the technologization of exchange among the speaking-beings/parlêtres (Lesourd, 2007a, p. 11-12).The aforementioned factors this paper analyzes encourage further investigation into the influence of modernity on father-daughter bonds. Such investigation is particularly important in light of the remarkable and increasing number of suicide attempts among young girls and women in the Arab region, likely in response to difficulties they face. These suicide attempts, we argue, are a result of fathers’ absence, and the authority which could be abusively opposed to parents as per Serge LESOURD, holding them responsible for violence by their children. Lesourd argues that “fathers did not quit, on the contrary, the reference system which had given them weight, has been modified in the occident” (Lesourd, 2003, p.36). We believe that the case in the Arab world is similar to the one described by Lesourd. The paper is divided into two parts : the first contains theoretical reflections while the second contains clinical examples about the construction of Syrian female teenagers’ sexual identity. This clinical projective study was carried out as part of CoPsyEnfant research, conducted by l’URP/SCLS in Strasbourg

Full textPhysical activity is associated with many physical, psychological and social health benefits. However, only 42. 5% of French are engaged in a sufficient level of PA to induce health gains. Consequently, this dissertation focuses on the reasons why people engage or not engage in PA. The literature has mainly based on social cognition models to identify psychological processes underlying the adoption of health behaviors such as PA. However, these models do not integrate, in their original formulation, factors that could influence the variables that they define. Based on the HAPA (Schwarzer, 1992), this doctoral project aims to identify factors that could influence the patterns of PA prediction. It highlights that the patterns of PA prediction vary depending on chronological age and context of retirement (study 1). Subjective age contributes to self-efficacy and intentions to perform PA (study 2). Moreover, the participation in PA is determined by passion toward work and work/family conflict (study 3). More precisely, work/family conflict aIso contributes to PA self-effïcacy and PA intentions (study 4). Finally, Conscientiousness predicts social cognitive variables, described in the motivational phase of the HAPA, i. E. Self-efficacy, outcome expectancies, and risk perception (study 5). Overall, this project contributes to extend the HAPA and, more generally, social cognition models and provides a better comprehension of psychological processes underlying PA participation

Full textNovels or short stories published in Spanish over the last twenty years have revealed a keen interest in what can be considered as a subgenre of the historical novel, the novel for the memory. This subgenre stages the recent History of Spain, particularly the Civil War. Its authors were born in the 50s or 60s, and have no direct memory of the events. It is usual to consider that Luna de lobos (1985) and Beatus Ille (1986) are the novels showing early signs of this phenomenon, which only became widespread ten years later and peaked at the turning point of the 21st century, in particular after the publication of Soldados de Salamina by Javier Cercas in 2001. Nevertheless, between the end of the Francoism in 1975 which led to the disappearance of censorship in 1977 and 1985, several fictional narrative texts relating the war and the Francoism were written and published. Días de llamas by Juan Iturralde was edited in 1979 and Juan Eduardo Zúñiga published Largo noviembre de Madrid in 1980. The study of these two books will question the often expressed idea that the literature from the first years of the Transition period did not favor the theme of war. It will also focus on the narrative strategies that these authors, who were direct witnesses of the events, chose in order to fictionalize this period from the History of Spain. Indeed, their literary approach to the facts was inevitably different from that taken by the writers who accepted being restricted by censorship and that taken by the following generations who only indirectly experienced the war. The particular treatment which Juan Iturralde and Juan Eduardo Zúñiga reserved to the referent, in particular the setting of an illusion of reality, denotes them both as dissidents compared to the narratives about the conflict published during the same period, and as heirs of the realistic tradition which they exploited and surpassed in order to relate a plausible but limited version of the events taking place from 1936 to 1939, due to their subjective perspective. In spite of the intrigues being anchored within a precise historical context, the reality is not necessarily self-evident in these narratives. In the extreme circumstances of war, the reality becomes a motive for questioning rather than an object of unequivocal and irrevocable knowledge. A single element is never questioned: the horror of the civil conflict whose fictionalization is fully able to translate the problematic dimension of reality. By the theme addressed by these books and the way they distanced themselves from the will of collective amnesia which has perniciously settled in Spain, they both have become “commemorative sites”, leaning toward the claim for the importance of the “duty of remembrance”, the rehabilitation of marginal memories which has been silenced too long, and the resilience of various traumas through fictionalizing psychic disorders caused by the horror of this conflict

Full textConceived by René Girard, mimetic theory suggests that the equality of conditions, established as a right, exacerbates the rivalry between similar individuals or groups. When the withering away of state sovereignty and the competitive logic of the market economy overlap with the multiplication of conflicts, this rivalry of equals becomes a relevant paradigm.Mimetic anthropology’s ambition – to address contemporary issues better than either idealistic political philosophy or realistic political science –, demands nevertheless to be revisited. The hope to overcome a lack of being, mimetic desire, or one’s desire to become someone else ends up giving way to a contradictory outcome: the disappointment of remaining oneself, the other thereby being perceived as both one’s model and one’s obstacle. For political actors, this desire turns into the claim of the equal power to be, which the promise of citizenship, the right of peoples to self-determination and the state sovereignty over its people and its territory each exemplify. As a modality of the containment of violence, politics could then be analyzed by a non-disciplinary "science of human relationships", implementing a methodological interdividualism. Against the backdrop of unprecedented threats to the survival of humanity, the reciprocity of human relationships casts doubt on the compatibility between the egalitarian project, the quest for identity, and social harmony. These relationships also question the current predominance of competition in the institutions, including political institutions, which has become the paradoxical binding agent between representative governments and the market economy

Abstract: Based on Piaget¿s theory aims at identifying the causes, this research is a qualitative and quantitative study, wich aim is to identify the causes, the strategies employed and the outcomes of interpersonal conflicts of students of 8th and 9th grades as well as investigating the differences in the ways these children solve them and how they understand their resolution. It also aims at comparing these variables among 3, 4, 5 and 6 year old students who were part of a similar previous study. The sample group was made of 30 students of the 3rd grade of Elementary School of a municipal school in the state of São Paulo, chosen by convenience. Data were collected in 92 hours of observation sessions of the school routine throughout a semester and were concluded by saturation. Evaluations were carried through clinical interviews, during which stories containing hypothetical conflicts were told based on identification of the main cause of conflict among children. Significant differences (P<0.001) were found among the age groups researched: among 3 and 4, and 5 and 6 year-olds, physical dispute is the main cause of conflict; there is a significant (P<0.001) decline in this data in 8 and 9 year-olds, being replaced by teasing and reaction to disturbing behavior. Physical and impulsive strategies were prevalent in the groups of 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 year olds decreasing significantly (P<0.001) in 8 and 9 year old participants. This group used more unilateral strategies than the participants of the two other age groups. These results indicate there is a development in the strategies concerning taking and coordination of perspective, as well as better self regulation of impulses. In the three age groups studied, conflicts were mainly abandoned, which indicates the limitation of strategies used. As to the comparison between judgment and action, 3 and 4, and 5 and 6 year old students showed more sophisticated strategies in the actual living of conflicts when compared to the answers given during interviews. However, in the 8 and 9 year-old group, solution strategies for conflicts were more developed in terms of psychosocial capacity in the resolution of hypothetical conflicts than in real ones. Such findings are coherent to Piaget¿s theory about action taking previous to judgment in pre-operational children who, gradually, as they develop self-awareness, let judgment precede action. Therefore, the contribution of the study was to detail the development of the understanding and living of interpersonal conflicts, which may help the planning of interventions that are more accurate for each age group, aiding the development of strategies for more cooperative conflict resolution

Full textThe very essence of man’s existence is constituted from drives, which are of a similar order in all human beings and aim at the satisfaction of primal desires in permanent latent or manifest conflicts. Civilization is the necessary path from family to humanity; it is inextricably linked to the innate conflict of the eternal struggle between Eros and Thanatos. In accordance with this idea and in the work of Freud, Lacan, Jung, Binswanger, etc., my doctoral research examines the relation between intrapersonal, interpersonal, intragroupal, intergroupal, international conflicts and their specific impact on international interactions. The resolution of these conflicts involves a choice between two or more equally possible, yet sometimes contradictory, solutions (war or peace, hostility or diplomacy, etc.). This choice is often determined by international negotiations, and can be understood through psychoanalytical vectors such as identity issues, the impact of bilingualism on intercultural interactions, and political discourse, etc. The implications of this doctoral research are to evaluate the role and the consequences of principal negotiations in the resolution of international conflicts before and during the Word War II, 1918-1945, and during the Cold War -1945-1991

Full textThis research mainly deals with the comprehension of intersectional resiliences processes in children, females and males deracinated (des/ombligados) by the colombian armed conflict having place in the state of Chocó between 1991-2020. The investigation focuses on recognition of the particularities of the armed conflict in the State of Chocó, basically taking into consideration the municipalities of Riosucio and Quibdó. It also considers the impacts of war in Afro, Embera, Waunnan, Kuna and mestizo peasant children. It emphasizes on the identification and analysis of collective and individual strategies, supportive networks, creative development, recreative and playful dynamics in children from Chocó as well. They constitute protective factors with regard to war. It is correspondingly bear in mind that trauma or traces of deracination are reinforced by political crossroads that aggravate vulnerability: colonization, extreme impoverishment, social exclusion, systematic racism, State absence, installed corruption, extractive economy, absence of vital minimum, drug trafficking, and several conflict envisaging the territorial control. Furthermore, children from Chocó grow up in familiar, scholar, and socio-communitarian contexts (resilient tutors) that do not prepare them to face up the exterior world. Considering the changes brought up by the armed conflict in social structures above mentioned, a purpose of this research encompasses the inquiry about the role played by this institutions and communitarian environment in the development of resiliences, resistance, adaptation, agency, copying, and beyond that, intime sufficiences in deracinated children (des/ombligados) from Chocó

This research project has three objectives: to conceptualize, measure and predict the influence of emotional support at work (ESW) on organizational commitment, job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behaviour. Our reflection is based on three points. (1) Study the psychological tensions ( conflicts Work / family -life / work) and job characteristics (psychological demand, physical constraints, Complexity of work ... ) is a key input that requires (2) a reflection on the emotional support at work and emotional regulation strategies as moderating variables for ( 3) study the effects of moderating variables in integrating research models incorporating burnout, organizational commitment , emotional dissonance, job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behaviour. The hospital raises an exemplary manner the dynamics and challenges of local management. We will consider three cases: The University Hospital of Bab El Oued (Algeria), University Hospital of Brugmann, (Belgium) and The University Hospital of Bordeaux (France). To provide some answers, we mobilize two methods: qualitative and quantitative (more about a double measure of perceived SET and a measure of emotional regulation strategies) with a comparison of the target institutions. Key words : Emotional support at work_ psychological tensions (conflict work / life and family / work) - Work Characteristics (psychological demand, physical constraints, Labor Complexity ) Burnout – organizational commitment - emotional dissonance - organizational citizenship behaviour _ Strategies work emotional regulation

Full textThe imitation by children has been considered here within an integrating perspective it has a double function - as instrument of acquisition and means or relationships- communication - and brings into play interpersonal situations. The survey proposed focuses on the function of acquisition as a complementary factor of other procedures. The place of the imitation as instrument of acquisition has been ewamined in three fields of behaviour : linguistic and communication behaviour, abilities relating to social situations (have been successively considered : peer relationships, acquisitions relating to social roles, the set up of prosocial behaviour and tentatives to remedy the isolation and aggressive behaviour), and finally, the field of behaviour concer- ned with the acquisition of logical-mathematical concepts and problem solving. The imitation has been considered within its interpersonal dimension. In some cases, imitation can form an interactive system where the behaviour of both the imitator and the imitated is subject to modifications. We have put forward an analysis of the imitation-modelisation functioning in an interactive situation. Finally, the relation- ship between the observer and the model, whose effects on the acquisition is of par- particular importance, has given ground to a study of certain specific relations set in everyday situations : we have ewamined the role of parental models, siblings, peers as well as that of the media models interacting together. We have suppoted a social conception of cognitive development which grants the status of developmental factor to the social interaction. We hold the position that cognitive conflict and social marking are the driving-force of progress. Similarly, we have shown that imitation-mo- delisation is also a factor of progress within the framework of asymmetrical rela- tions which characterize mother-child dyades and, more generally, adult-child dyades typical of many educative relationships. Acting as an instrument, the imitation sets into action cognitive activities of the subject. As such, it cannot possible be confu- sed with a passive impregnation which characterizes social influence. The imitation makes up an active process of taking, selecting and processing of information.
