ResumenEl significativo crecimiento demográfico de Lima a partir de los años cincuenta tiene como base el desplazamiento de un número creciente de inmigrantes de la región andina hacia ella, principalmente de origen campesino. En las primeras oleadas, los limeños de toda condición social ponían desde reparos hasta rechazo a la presencia de estos inmigrantes, con escasa o nula experiencia urbana y arraigadas prácticas culturales originarias. Esto sucede en el contexto de favorables cambios en la economía y la aspiración a copiar formas de vida propios de una sociedad moderna. El impacto social y cultural en una ciudad en tránsito a la modernización va a ser el motivo de historias plasmadas en los cuentos y novelas de los escritores de esos años, principalmente de Enrique Congrains. A su obra, representativa de este fenómeno, se suman personajes e historias en la obra de Julián Huanay y Julio Ramón Ribeyro,entre otros. Palabras clave: ciudad criolla, migrantes andinos, experiencia urbana, cultura originaria. AbstractThe significant population growth of Lima from the 1950s is based on the displacement of an increasing number of immigrants from the Andean region towards the capital, mainly from a peasant population. In the first waves, people from Lima of all social status made everything from qualms to rejection to the presence of these immigrants, with little or no urban experience and ingrained original cultural practices. This happens in the context of favorable changes in the economy and the aspiration to reproduce life forms typical of a modern society. The social and cultural impact in a city in the transition to modernization will be the reason for stories embodied in the tales and novels of the writers of those years, mainly Enrique Congrains. To his work, which is representative of this phenomenon, are added characters and stories in the work of Julián Huanay and Julio Ramón Ribeyro, among others. (2) Untuk mengimplementasikan Metode Linear Congruent Method (LCM) Aplikasi Pembelajaran Proses Daur Air Dan Peristiwa Alam Pada Mata Pelajaran IPA Kelas V SD Berbasis Android. Pada perancangan aplikasi ini, pemgembangan sistem yang digunakan yaitu UML (Unified Modeling Language). Sedangkan pembuatan aplikasi perangkat lunak dalam penulisan ini menggunakan perangkat lunak Adobe Profesional CS6, CorelDraw, Adobe AIR, PhotoShop dengan menggunakan metode LCM (Linear Congrate Methode). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah media pembelajaran yang dapat memudahkan siswa untuk saling berinteraksi dalam belajar dan menciptakan pembelajaran yang tidak membosankan, serta mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.

Según indica el título, intento ofrecer un panorama de la narrativa peruana de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, panorama del que se excluye a J. M. Arguedas y M. Vargas Llosa por haber sido objeto de un estudio aparte. Para evitar una lista superficial de autores y obras, me centraré en algunos títulos paradigmáticos y representativos para una etapa o tendencia, como son los relatos de O. Reynoso y E. Congrains para la «Generación del 50». Justa fama han obtenido J. R. Ribeyro por sus cuentos despojados y A. Bryce Echenique por sus novelas rebosantes de humor y ternura. En los años 70 la multiculturalidad toma el relevo con textos sobre los mundos judío (I. Goldenberg), negro (G. Martínez) y chino (K. W. Siu). Para la década del 90 son representativos tres textos de M. Gutiérrez, E. Rivera Martínez y L. Riesco sobre el problemático mestizaje. Sin embargo, desde la irrupción de Sendero Luminoso, muchos escritores se ocupan de la violencia que sumía a la sociedad peruana en el abismo (F. Ampuero, A. Cueto, S. Bossio).

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como propósito analizar las políticas de contratación laboral vigentes en el Ecuador, tomando como referencia la expedición del Acuerdo Ministerial N° MDT-2018-0074, con el que se modifica la modalidad de contratación en el sector bananero, e implementa el contrato de trabajo especial discontinuo a jornada parcial, por el tiempo que dure el ciclo que genera la actividad especial a realizarse en el sector, de esta manera, el Estado se congracia y cumple con las exigencias circunstanciales del empleador. Sin considerar, que en el Ecuador a partir del año 2015 rige la contratación indefinida estableciéndose como la modalidad típica de contratación laboral estable o permanente, y su duración o extinción se producirá únicamente por las causas y los procedimientos señalados en el Código de Trabajo. Determinando una incidencia legal, que provoca una inestabilidad laboral al trabajador que presta sus servicios lícitos y personales en el sector bananero ecuatoriano, conclusión que se sustenta del análisis de las políticas de contratación aplicables antes y después de la expedición del Acuerdo Ministerial N° MDT-2018-0074, el cual fue emitido el 10 de abril del año 2018, y de las entrevistas que fueron realizadas a los trabajadores del sector bananero.

Abstract:
This article examines how Próspero Cahuantzi, governor of Tlaxcala from 1885–1911, claimed his Indigenous heritage. Cahuantzi asserted his Indigenousness by contributing to the Porfirian administration’s nation-building campaigns, which glorified Mexico’s Indigenous past. The article traces how Cahuantzi collected, disseminated, and protected Indigenous artifacts and history. Through his actions, which included giving speeches in Nahuatl at the Eleventh International Congress of Americanists (Mexico City, 1895), Cahuantzi ingratiated himself to national and international elites. Thus, the article shows how Cahuantzi’s Indigenousness helped him to secure a permanent political position in Porfirio Díaz’s dictatorship (1876–1910). Este artículo examina la manera en que Próspero Cahuantzi, gobernador de Tlaxcala entre 1885 y 1911, reclamó para sí su legado indígena. Cahuantzi afirmó su carácter indígena colaborando con las campañas de construcción nacional del gobierno porfiriano que glorificaban el pasado indígena de México. En el artículo se revisa cómo Cahuantzi recolectó, difundió y protegió los objetos y la historia indígenas. Mediante sus acciones, entre las que se contó pronunciar discursos en náhuatl en el Décimo Primer Congreso Internacional de Americanistas (ciudad de México, 1895), Cahuantzi se congració con las élites nacionales e internacionales. Así, el artículo muestra cómo la condición indígena de Cahuantzi le ayudó a mantener un puesto político permanente en la dictadura de Porfirio Díaz (1876–1910).

Abstract:
Solid fetal spinal cord (FSC) tissue, seeded into semipermeable mini-guidance channels, was tested for the ability to promote axonal growth across the gap created by a midthoracic (T8) hemisection in adult rats. Fetal thoracic spinal cords, at embryonic days 13 to 15, were harvested and gently aspirated into mini-guidance channels (1.25 mm in diameter and 3.0 mm in length). Care was taken to maintain the rostro-caudal orientation of the FSC. In control rats, the FSC-channel congraft struct was exposed to 5 freeze/thaw cycles to produce non-viable grafts before implantation into the hemisected cord. All cases revealed intact tissue cables of various diameters spanning the rostro-caudal extent of the lesion cavity, with integration of host-graft tissues at both interfaces. Immunofluorescence results indicated that numerous neurofilament-positive axons were present within the FSC tissue cable. Double-labeling of a subpopulation of these axons with calcitonin generelated peptide indicated their peripheral nervous system (PNS) origin. Descending serotonergic and noradrenergic axons were found in the proximity of the rostral host-graft interface, but were not observed to grow into the FSC-graft. Anterograde tracing of propriospinal axons with Phaseolus vulgaris-leucoagglutinin demonstrated that axons had regenerated into the FSC-graft and had traveled longitudinally to the distal end of the channel. Few axons were observed to cross the distal host-graft interface to enter the host spinal cord. Cross-sectional analysis at the midpoint of the tissue cable stained with toluidine blue demonstrated a significant increase (P<0.01) in myelinated axons in viable FSC grafts (1455±663, mean±S.E.M.; n=6) versus freeze-thaw control grafts (155±50; n=5). In addition to the myelinated axons, many unmyelinated axons were observed in the tissue cable at the electron microscopic level. Areas resembling the PNS with typical Schwann cells, as well as those resembling the central nervous system with neurons and central neuropil, were also seen. In freeze-thaw control grafts, neither viable neurons nor central neuropil were observed. Retrograde tracing with Fast Blue and Diamidino Yellow demonstrated that neurons within the FSC graft extended axons into the host spinal cord at least for 2 mm from both the rostral and caudal host-graft interfaces. We conclude that viable FSC grafts within semipermeable guidance channels may serve both as a permissive bridge for longitudinally directed axonal growth and a potential relay for conveying information across a lesion site in the adult rat spinal cord.

Abstract:
Clinical examination is one of the main skill that clinicians acquire through training and experience, and its contribution to diagnosis is a key addition to history taking. Mike Reiman is a physical therapist, author of the excellent textbook «Orthopedic clinical examination», who just conpleted his PhD (congrats!) under the supervision of Kristian Thorborg (Denmark), looking at the validity of the most frequently used clinical examination tests around the hip area. We tend to think that “specialized” tests have great significance for the examination of a particular structure of pathology, yet as we have already learned from multiple studies on this very question around the shoulder examination tests, this is deceptive. In this article, Dr Reiman looks at what we know for hip instability tests, and the conclusion is not very different. Some tests can help in ruling in a pathology (higher specificity than sensibility), but should by no means be considered decisive. At #SportSuisse2018, he presented his PhD work on femoro-acetabular impingement tests, and the findings are not dissimilar to this article. We should be very careful with the interpretation we make of positive clinical tests. First, the tests should be properly standardized and executed. Second, the clinician must understand when a test is to be interpreted as positive: do we look for pain (reproduces the patient’s complaint or a different pain?), clicking or limitation in range of motion? Not all tests look for the same thing. Third, the clinician must acknowledge the validity of each test. One way to look at it is, that the act of clinical examination must be executed and chosen wisely, whilst the results of the tests can only be interpreted in the context of the history, the aggregate of tests, the additional imaging when advisable and the experience of the clinician. This is the art of clinical work informed by science, but let’s not overstate our findings too “artistically”.

Abstract:
El monitoreo de especies introducidas es una herramienta importante para preservar las especies nativas. El objetivo de este estudio fue monitorear a la población de perros ferales en la Isla deCedros e identificar las amenazas actuales y potenciales de su presencia sobre la mastofauna nativa. La colecta de datos se realizó en dos áreas de la isla, la costa noreste (CNE) y la región centro-sur (RCS). Los patrones de distribución y la densidad de los perros se determinaron con un método no invasivo basado en el conteo de excretas a lo largo de transectos y se estimó la densidad relativa (R) y el índice de abundancia relativa fecal (fRAI). La composición de la dieta se evaluó por medio del análisis de las excretas.Tanto los valores de R como de fRAI fueron significativamente mayores (P < 0.05) en CNE que en RCS. Los resultados mostraron que los perros se alimentan de al menos tres especies de mamíferosendémicos (el venado bura, el conejo matorralero y el ratón de abazones de Cedros) y de dos especies de pinnípedos (el elefante marino del norte y el lobo marino de California). A partir de este estudio se cuenta con una línea de base que podrá ser usada en los programas de control y monitoreo futuros. Sin embargo, es necesario desarrollar estudios sobre el comportamiento alimentario de los perros para evaluar su actividad predatoria y medir el nivel de daño asociado; además, dado que las interacciones entre pinnípedos y perros parecen ser frecuentes y están relacionados filogenéticamente, posiblemente la mayor amenaza de la presencia de los perros sea la propagación de enfermedades infeccionas, congraves resultados para la vida silvestre.
