Abstract:
Knowledge builds on data and/or information that is organized and processed to convey understanding, experience, accumulated learning and expertise. At the moment, the volumes of data and information are quickly growing uncontrollably. The sheer amount of data, that lacks the structure, connectivity and intent, cannot be utilized efficiently later on. There is ever the greater need to transfer this unstructured mass of bits and bytes to meaningful information and to human understandable knowledge, as it is understood in the industry. However, there are major challenges in understanding the essence of information flow that should connect the different design departments and activities to be part of the life-time information of a product, including its processes and services. The paper introduces a vision where the semantically rich product-process information flows through the life-cycle phases – design, manufacturing, services – of a product or a system, and thus increases the content knowledge.

Abstract:
Situating psychoanalysis in the context of Jewish history, this paper takes up Freud's famous 1930 question: what is left in Judaism after one has abandoned faith in God, the Hebrew language and nationalism, and his answer: a great deal, perhaps the very essence, but an essence that we do not know. On the one hand, it argues that ‘not knowing’ connects psychoanalysis to Judaism's ancestral preoccupation with God, a preoccupation different from that of the more philosophical Greek, Latin and Christian traditions of theology. On the other hand, ‘not knowing‘ connects psychoanalysis to a post-Enlightenment conception of the person (i.e. of personal life), as opposed to the more abstract notion of the subject associated with Kant.

Abstract:
Is the ingenuous inquiry What is the film about? so simple, for the response to that thing which sometimes causes confusion not only for a common audience, but for an experienced critic. The issue for unveiling film essence through its artistic time analysis has been declared. Lars von Triers Nymphomaniac has been considered as an example for temporal analysis, algorithm of motion towards cinema products essence core being given. Through analysis of time forms constituting film parts, genuine essence has been brought to light what the author has really had in mind - probably even contrary to his aims and against his statements. The conclusion reads that causal relationship has been found as temporal relationship. Hence, film story and artistic time within cinema product is declared to be substantially valid. Looking into horizontal time of Nymphomaniac made the author's idea of logics deployment and its general outline clear. For this purpose temporal forms that include plot-making essence, first of all cyclic and non-linear time, have been taken into consideration. Film temporal construction reveals itself at once through the heroines realized procedure of remembrance of her own life circumstances that led to a catastrophe occured at that very evening when Seligman found her covered with sewage and in an extremely bad state. The above mentioned procedure supposes convergence towards the truth that a hero confirms in relation to himself. So that does happen in Lars von Triers film. The inner film cycle ends with that. The question still remains why Joe for whom a persons life is the highest value that nobody can make an attempt on, pulls the trigger and kills the man who provides her with a lodge and became her speaker during that long tormented night. What does these two heroes conflict content consist of? For the purpose of answering the question it has been studied how time for both heroes is constructed. It has been shown that characters conflict is an unsolvable conflict of two different value systems connected with different types of culture.

Abstract:
In this article, I offer a somatic process to non-movers at home during the COVID-19 lockdown. These participants also offer reflections on their individual experience post-moving. As a facilitator, I invite you to take part in this process, whether you are a dancer or non-mover (whatever your age or ability). The process focuses on self-regulation and interoceptive awareness, allowing the time and space to connect with Self. Self-regulation and interoceptive awareness are two of the most important aspects of somatic movement in supporting free-flowing movement and balancing the nervous system. Self-regulation in turn can produce a sense of agency – meaning a sense of autonomy and release within the body can occur. In line with cultural pressures experienced within society, somatic processes can ease the anxieties of everyday life. Inviting Self into a practical, felt process is sometimes what we need in order to re-evaluate our positioning and perceptions within the world. As human beings we often find ourselves in stressful and challenging situations that ultimately affect the body’s nervous state and our relationship with Self. We currently find ourselves in the middle of a global pandemic, and opportunities to connect with Self in creative, communal ways are hindered. I am offering this article as a way of communicating my appreciation and passion for somatic work during this pandemic. As a Ph.D. student studying somatic movement dance education and therapy, I deeply recognize it is important to be connected with community and others, as well as my own inner sphere. Connection produces a sense of optimism during this time. This article offers a simplistically detailed, yet effective process that locates and contacts Self within our feeling, sensing organism. As we begin to re-connect with our energy and interoceptive awareness, a physiological shift can be experienced. When we drop our awareness within the vitality of the moving body, a change in consciousness can occur. Using breath awareness as an inroad to sensing internal processes, I offer this practical process to you, inviting you to cultivate an inner essence of gravity, breath, ground and body.

ABSTRACT: Consuming goods for the necessities of life is a natural thing. However, consuming that exceeds the limit until wasting should be avoided. The dilemma of human needs today presents a new phenomenon in terms of fulfilling the necessities of life. This phenomenon is none other than-widely known by society- consumerism. The process is to use goods of production in excess or inappropriate manner consciously and sustainably. So, this phenomenon (consumerism) continues to be one of the central themes in this era of globalization. Unfortunately, the ferocity of this ideological influence ostracizes the fundamental values that exist within each individual. Consumerism eliminates the significance of the basic essence that exists in man. Humans who should remember the nature of themselves as social beings who are always connected to one another in this cosmos are now slowly losing that meaning. With the mindset and lifestyle of consumptive, human as if imprisoned and alienated. Quality of life is no longer measured based on the value of meaningfulness for others and the environment but measured by materials. This consequence becomes a fundamental crisis which is humans essence degradation. Abstract:
The design discourse mostly in developing world cities tends to commit walking as the concern for transportation purpose. This notion tends to dismiss walking as an extended conception of urban space and take it for granted which allow elements of informal walking fields to emerge. This orients walking in the lines of a mere ‘street sidewalk’ rather than an important element in enhancing urban space in terms of environmental quality, access and use of urban space and everyday life realities. The empirical study in Dar es Salaam show that the gap in walking provision seem to be filled by the informal actors in urban space struggling to create the informal walking spheres in which trading, vending, meeting and recreating take place. Such observations draw a lesson that such informal developed urban activities along the streets and the urban space have not been disassociated from walking. The paper recognizes the essence of such integration of walking with other activities in urban space. It is thus concluded that urban design discourse have to conceive walking, including its contextual elements, as integral component in the field of urban public space that connect with other urban functions rather than isolate it from them.

Abstract:
An important component of the state-building process in Ukraine is the government’s activities to ensure national security, which is an attribute of independence. The ruling political forces in Ukraine have created the necessary legal framework for national security (parliamentary resolutions, laws, decrees of the head of state). The process of ensuring the national security of Ukraine should be divided into stages: 1991−2014 (imitation) and after 2014 (essential). The peculiarities of the first stage were the wide involvement of Soviet approaches in the formation of the institutional basis for ensuring national security, the imitation of the defense activity of legitimate armed formations, and the development of the military organization of the state. It was considered that the proper level of military security of Ukraine is evidence of national security in general. At the beginning of 2014, the system of ensuring Ukraine's national security on the basis of imitation collapsed, which failed to counteract Russia's aggressive plans. Seeking to hinder the will of the Ukrainian people for a European future, Russia occupied part of Ukraine’s territory − the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and unleashed military aggression in eastern Ukraine. The beginning of the essential stage of ensuring the national security of Ukraine is connected with the initiative involvement of civil society in the implementation of security and defense tasks. Evidence of this were: the rapid organization of the emergence of volunteer battalions and their practical application in eastern Ukraine; active formation of local self-defense forces; powerful volunteer movement; deployment of information resistance structures to the enemy’s propaganda influences; implementation of the values of patriotism in the spiritual and cultural life of the population, etc. The violent reaction of civil society to the threats and dangers that threaten the very existence of an independent and sovereign Ukraine has become a social reality. In Ukraine, there has been a fundamental shift in emphasis in the understanding of national security. The main subject of its ensuring is the security and defense sector, which combines state authorities, state armed formations and civil society structures interested in solving security and defense tasks. In Ukraine, which seeks to become democratic, security activities have been de-ethicized, which is not the case in authoritarian countries. If earlier national security was interpreted as a state of protection of national interests, now (at the request of civil society) − as a state of protection of national interests and values. The theory and practice of creating national security of Ukraine are developing dynamically. The subject of scientific research and public discussions are methodological, institutional, public administration, social compensation aspects of national security and defense. It is a matter of practical implementation of their results with the leading participation of constitutional state structures. Key words: national security, state-building, legal framework on national security, military organization of the state, security and defense sector, civil society, security, danger.

Abstract:
At the new stage of development of the socio-economic sphere, culture and education, the issues of artistic and creative development of the younger generation are receiving special attention. There is a growing need in society for highly intelligent creative individuals who are able to solve emerging difficulties, make non-standard decisions and implement them. All this requires the development of new methods of educating the younger generation and entails unconventional approaches to art education – as a basis for further improvement of personality. The greatest interest in this regard are younger students, as it is at this age that the foundation of personality is laid, there is an orientation to the development of spirituality, self-realization, self-expression and formed worldviews necessary in later life. Choreographic creativity is one of the means of comprehensive development of students, because the productivity of artistic education of children by means of choreography is due to the synthesizing nature of choreography, which combines music, rhythmics, fine arts, theater and plastic arts. A characteristic feature of our time is the intensification of humanistic tendencies in the education of the younger generation. The purpose of the educational process is to maximize the development of the child as a free, active, creative, responsible and tolerant person. The search for effective ways and means of this development is recognized today as an urgent pedagogical problem. Her decision is connected, among other things, with the involvement of children in choreographic culture – a layer of culture with great moral, humanistic content, focused on artistic and creative education of the child, the disclosure of its potential. Choreographic art has great potential for full-fledged aesthetic improvement of the child, his harmonious spiritual and physical development. The formation of choreographic skills acquires special significance in preschool childhood, when the foundations of the child's value attitude to the world are laid, the basis of his personal culture is formed. In the article the author considers the relationship between the concepts of «performing activities», «choreographic-performing skills» and «choreographic-performing skills». The structure of choreographic-performing skills that are formed in the process of choreographic training of junior schoolchildren is revealed. The performing complex is analyzed, which contains motor-technical, metro-rhythmic, space-oriented, coordination and artistic-expressive components.

Abstract:
The article considers the development of typological plot event in Arseny Tarkovsky’s lyrical poetry from his early works presented in the book «Guest-Star», to poems written in 1950-60s, making the collection «Before Snowing». Particular attention is paid to the correlation of plot event and spatial model of the world which refl ects the acquired emotional and mental experience and actualises ideas about the essence of interaction of the world and man. In Arseny Tarkovsky’s poems of 1930-40s, the spatial model of the world is presented as a correlation of «centre» and «periphery» («home» and outside world) which actualises the opposition of life as such and refl ective consciousness of the poet alienated from external existence. In lyrical poetry of 1950-60s, the development of the spatial model takes place which is connected with refusal from truths of the highest order and an attempt of justifi cation of the value of the world of men. At fi rst Arseny Tarkovsky represented such model as a fl oral vertical which has anthropomorphic features – Tree of World. The plot event is the refl ection on the essence of this spatial model and awareness of its defi ciencies – it reveals its ambivalence combining elevated and low images of the world and in consciousness it alienates from living life with its «noxiousness». The result of the evolution of the plot event in Arseny Tarkovsky’s lyrical poetry of 1930-60s is confi rmation of incomprehensibility and mystique of life and also refusal from absolute knowledge and transfer of meaningfulness of creativity to preservation of “root relationship” between man and world of men.

The phenomenon of the disastrous progress is analyzed in the article. This one is conditioned by the development of technoscience having biocapitalism behind it. The essence of the disastrous progress is that so-called digitalization leads to the rise of digital civilization, which is giving opportunities for the total control, new, technological form of slavery and even optimization of the size of "useless" people. As the alternative of the disastrous progress the bioethical discourse in the form of conservative bioethics is proposed. This one is considered as new philosophy. Using deconstructive approach one is demonstrating that conservative bioethics is the study about human as spiritual creature, who is connected with life as net structure just in this dimension. Thus, conservative bioethics is interpreted as radical ethics of the preservation of life, which is able to block the destructive tendency of the modern progress.

Historically, new investment projects, advanced technologies and financial innovations appear during the crisis period. However, the issues of using modern technologies in the public finance system are at the formation stage, which actualizes the task of arguing the use of innovative technologies that can provide simplicity, speed, and most importantly, the security of most financial transactions in the sphere of public finance. The article is aimed at researching and systematizing existing approaches to defining the essence of the concept of «blockchain» in order to substantiate the directions of improvement of the public administration system and the implementation of blockchain technology in the sphere of public finance. The definition of «blockchain» is studied and its interpretation is proposed as follows: this is a distributed database with registered and ordered economic transactions which, subject to certain conditions, can be connected and to which a specific transaction can be performed. The advantages and disadvantages of using blockchain technology are determined. It is established that blockchain has significant potential for use in various spheres of public life and, despite certain shortcomings, allows to improve the system of public administration. It is argued that to ensure the efficiency, information transparency and security of operations with budget funds, it is advisable to use innovative blockchain technology. It is proved that the implementation of this technology in the sphere of public finance will contribute to solving accumulated problems. It is determined that the modern paradigm of blockchain technology has become the basis for the implementation of smart contracts, but the issue of the use of this technology in such contracts is under formation and needs to be improved in terms of developing the conceptual basis for signing smart contracts by various economic entities.

Abstract:
Politics is on the one hand an attempt to implement certain good, a desire for achieving agreed objectives, on the other hand – as Max Weber says – a simultaneous a#empt to avoid a particular evil. If in defining the notion of politics there are references to good and evil, purpose and desire, it has to include the non-political spheres – culture, axiology, religion. Mark Lilla argues that for decades we have been aware of the great and final separation that has taken place in Western Europe between political and religious life. This awareness implies a conviction, which is obligatory today in most countries and societies, that to separate politics from religion is a great achievement. For many thinkers and politicians this is an undisputed success from which the West learns to benefit while preparing other regions of the world for such separation. Therefore it seems that modern politics should be free from religious inspiration and temptation. On the other hand, many sociologists and political scientists show the vitality of religious attitudes, proving that in its deepest essence religion is an expression of human behaviour. Each person and each community always has an element of irreducibility which is an internal defence against reducing man to “here and now”, restricting his world to what is useful and usable. We experience that in man there is a natural opening to what is transcendent. Thus, if man is ever to achieve individual and social reconciliation with himself, he will always look for rational and moral meanings. This situation creates a platform for the emergence of a completely new a#itude in society and politics – to seek and pursue spirituality in a world without religion. Increasingly, the understanding of religion reveals itself in a wide etymological sense, sociological and ethnological: religare – “to connect”, “to bind”, “to build community ties”. Religion so understood would be a great solution to the dilemma of separation – the adoption of religion (bonds) without the doctrine, while ensuring social cohesion, strengthening the feeling of being together, maintaining a spiritual connection. Many thinkers are convinced that we cannot base social life only on fear, discipline and economy; we need a deeper and stronger foundations for Community Cohesion. But is such a project possible at all? Is politics becoming a place for the formation of relationships, education and conservation of values, a narrative space which tells citizens what is good and right and what is wrong and alien? Can it replace religion in its deepest essence – in its intimate sense of an exploration and discovery of transcendence? Will it not become a caricature of religion, and a caricature of politics, and ultimately a trap for freedom?

Abstract:
The Qumran community of Essenes belongs to the religious sects of Palestine II. BC - 1st century BC not. It arose in the line of Judaism and was closely connected with the Jewish religion. This is evidenced by the spiritual library of the community and the strict observance of the law of Moses by its members. In order to get closer to the understanding of nature and the essence of spirituality, one should not only take into account the complete legal features of its similarity to official or normative Judaism, but to note the differences that existed between them. These differences were determined in the social and religious isolation of the Qumran community from the Jewish community and were reflected in a desert, similar to the monastic way of life, in rejection of participation in the temple cult, a specific ritual of washing, different from the established burial ceremony, in the use of a special solar calendar. All this testifies at the same time to the specificity of the ideological views of the members of the Qumran Brotherhood. It is difficult to say whether the theological system of the Qur'an outlook has survived to date, since its essential elements were transmitted orally and not recorded (in records, such records do not occur).

Abstract:
This article will address the question: how can health care education best take seriously the task of educating for professional practice within a post-traditional, liberal democratic society? In the setting of modernity, the altered personal and professional self has to be explored and constructed as part of a reflective process of connecting personal and professional change: in essence, to develop self-knowledge. A moral life, or ‘working morality’, that evolves out of a process of ongoing dialogue and conversation is required. What is advocated here is a more social model of health care education that acknowledges a social or communal dimension to knowledge and the centrality of relationships for the full development of the individual personally and professionally, fosters our capacity to identify who we are both personally and professionally, connects reason and dialogue, and educates for dialogue and dialogic relationships.

We consider the issues of the adolescent’s personal sovereignty formation in a narrative training. The narrative is defined as a text, a meaning system, first divided between people and then interiorized. We substantiate the possibility of using the narrative as a psychotechnical tool in working with the personality sovereignty of the adolescent. Its formation is connected to the adolescent’s mastering of reflexive action aimed at the meaningful organization of his/her experience of successful autonomous behavior. The essence of the narrative training is constructing the narrative (narrative metaphor). We consider two aspects of the narrative metaphor: the domain of action landscape and the domain of meaning, that help the adolescent to signify and make sense of the unique episodes of his/her life and to structure the fragmented experiences of his/her successful independent behavior.

Abstract:
When we acknowledge our purpose as the essence of our self, when we take all our power into use in an effortless way, and when we fully accept our own nature — including sex and sexuality, our purpose of life takes the form of a unique talent. Using this talent gives the experience of happiness. A person in his natural state of being uses his core talent in a conscious, joyful, and effortless way, contributing to the world the best he or she has to offer. Full expression of self happens when a person, in full acceptance of body and life, with whole-hearted intension, uses all his personal powers to realize his core talent and all associated talents, to contribute to his beloved and to the world. Thus, self-actualisation is a result of a person fully expressing and realizing his core talent. The theory of talent states that a core talent can be expressed optimally when a human being takes possession of a three-dimensional space with the axis of purpose, power and gender, as we have a threefold need: 1-Acknowledging our core talent (our purpose of life) and intending it 2-Understanding our potential powers and manifesting them 3-Accepting our human form including our sex and expressing itThe first dimension is spiritual, the next dimension is mental, emotional and physical, and the third dimension is bodily and sexual. We manifest our talents in a giving movement from the bottom of our soul trough our biological nature onto the subject and object of the outer world. These three dimensions can be drawn as three axes, one saggital axis called purpose or love or me-you, one vertical axis called power or consciousness (light) or heaven-earth, and one horizontal axis called gender or joy or male-female. The three core dimensions of human existence are considered of equal importance for expression of our life purpose, life mission, or core talent. Each of the dimensions is connected to special needs. When these needs are not fulfilled, we suffer and if this suffering becomes unbearable we deny the dimension or a part of is. This is why the dimensions of purpose, power and gender become suppressed from our consciousness.

Abstract:
The problem of interpretation of anthropological artistic images by Fyodor Buslaev is considered in the article; those are presented in monuments of national literature. Tracing sources of origin of the aesthetic ideas in the most ancient forms of language, Fyodor Buslaev made an attempt to explain development of artistic views of the people of antiquity. He connected this long process with infl uence and interaction of many factors – evolution of religious mythological ideas and epic creative work, streamlining of matrimonial relations, more rational distribution of gender and role functions in everyday life, formation of of gender identity idea, origin of moral imperatives. Mythology and folklore gave him an opportunity to highlight changes of female images (from mannish battle-axes to owners of a classical ideal of beauty); the sage explained their aestheticisation with change of female essence criteria ideas and "canons" of female attractivity. Fyodor Buslaev came to a conclusion which was later confi rmed by Vladimir Propp and Aron Gurevich – indicators of external appeal of both women and men were inalienable from ethical estimates by society which considered moral nobility, decent conduct of life of mythical and epic characters.

Changing the worldview and cultural paradigm of the modern world with the inherent transformation of value orientations and the search for the life-meaning foundations of being leads to increased interest in the problems of spirituality. After all, spirituality is the most important pillar of human existence and the highest principle that determines the essence of man and his over-welcoming purpose. In the historical memory of the people, in its cultural traditions, spirituality has been sanctified for millennia by a religion that sought to restrain primitive instincts and affirmation at all levels of being a moral person. Religion, as a spiritual phenomenon, is directly connected with man, with his attachment to the high meanings and the semantic fullness of being in general. The search for meaning promotes a person beyond the limits of the actual being given to him and ensures the integrity of the individual, affirmation of the person as an origin and bringing it to the culture and values.

The concept of qi belongs among the most difficult and complex notions in Chinese ideational history. The present article follows from recognizing that traditional translations of this concept are Eurocentric. The author substantiates the problematic role of these presumptive translations through critical analyses of their methodological approaches, which led to the traditional, falsified understanding of this concept. A new alternative and richer understanding of this concept is proposed, pointing to several different levels of meaning on which it can be understood. The author analyses and interprets the notion of qi including its various philosophical, physiological, psychological end ethical dimensions. The article shows that on the semantical level, qi derives from the etymological meaning of air and is in essence similar to the concept of field in physics, referring to the breath as the origin of the living world. From this perspective, the holistic nature of this notion of breath will be introduced, exposing the dynamic network through which it connects all existing beings in the universe, endowed with life.

Abstract:
Humans be created in the image of God. All people are called to holiness, that is to perfection, just as the Father in heaven is perfect. The theme called to holiness is first placed in the frame of the Basic Diocese of Surabaya which deals with the great theme of the Disciples of Christ. The theme of holiness contains elements about: what, when, where, who, why and how. The Kipling method or the 5W-1H method helps the writer in describing this holiness theme. Being called to holiness in context has the same meaning as being called to be holy. Holiness itself has a charge as perfect love. Holiness and love are two inseparable things, because God is both Holy and Love. Human union with God is the essence of holiness. Holiness has a relationship with the perfection of love, so holiness cannot be understood separately from one's attitude and actions towards God through his actions towards the poor who suffer. Holiness is a lifestyle that is connected with daily life according to the Beatitues that Jesus conveyed to His disciples.

Abstract:
Ethics is constantly topical, and times of economic crises, issues of migration and refugees, and threat of terrorism are no exception. In almost all cases brought before it, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg faces morally oriented issues to some extent. The article examines key dimensions of ethics as addressed by it (the common ethical grounds and European values on which the decisions are often based; areas of differences in ethical grounds in cases wherein no European consensus on a given issue seems to exist; and the independence, impartiality, and internal ethics of the Court and its judges), and it discusses some central topics related to moral issues in its case law. The case law addresses matters from serious human‑rights violations to rights of prisoners and refugees, but the article pays particular attention to case law defining human dignity, which is closely connected with ethics. It elaborates on the beginning of life and reproductive rights: cases have dealt with access to lawful abortion, embryo donation and scientific research, home birth, medically assisted procreation, precautionary measures to protect a newborn baby’s health, prenatal medical tests, sterilisation, surrogacy, and an unborn child’s right to life. With regard to the end of life, the Court has found that the right to life could not, without a distortion of language, be interpreted as conferring the diametrically opposite right, a right to die. The article also considers the delicate issue of withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. Also considered is the case law related to freedom of research and the responsibility of researchers and universities, with focus on the essence of academic freedom and morals, classical and other types of cases in connection with questions related to procedural rights before the Court that involve academic freedom, and the use of research results and academic freedom. The author presents conclusions related to the careful, pragmatic balancing among rights, between European and state level, and of public and private interests. There need not be a ‘European ethics’, but there certainly exist certain common values and understandings.

Abstract:
The reason why I wavered a bit with this topic is that, after all, it has to do with Darwin, after a great Darwin year, as seen by a German scientist. Not that Darwin was very adept in German: Gregor Mendel’s ‘Versuche über Pflanzenhybriden’ (Experiments on Plant Hybrids) was said to have stayed uncut and probably unread on his shelf, which is why he never got it right with heredity in his life – only Gregory Bateson, Ronald A. Fisher, and JBS Haldane, together with Sewall Wright merged evolution with genetics. But Darwin taught us, nevertheless, in essence why the single human species shows such tremendous ethnic diversity, which impresses us above all through a diversity of languages – up to 7000 altogether – and among them, as a consequence, also German, my mother tongue, and English. It would thus have been a truly Darwinian message, if I had written this article in German. I would have called that the discommunication function of the many different languages in humans, which would have been a most significant message of cultural evolution, indeed. I finally decided to overcome the desire to demonstrate so bluntly what cultural evolution is all about, or rather to show that nowadays, with global cultural progress, ‘the world is flat’ indeed – even linguistically. The real sign of its ‘flatness’ is that English is used everywhere, even if Thomas L. Friedman may not have noticed this sign. But I will also come back to that later, when I hope to show how Darwinian principles connect both natural and cultural evolution, and how they first have been widely misunderstood as to their true meaning, and then have been terribly misused – although more so by culturalists, or some self-proclaimed ‘humanists’, rather than by biologists – or at least most of them. Let me, however, quickly add a remark on human languages. That languages even influence our brains and our thinking, that is: how we see the world, has first been remarked upon by Wilhelm von Humboldt and later, more extensively so, by Benjamin Whorf. It has recently been shown by neural imaging – for instance by Angela Friederici – that one’s native language, first as learned from one’s mother and from those around us when we are babies, later from one’s community of speakers, can deeply impinge on a baby’s brain development and stay imprinted in it throughout life, even if language is, of course, learned and not fully genetically preformed. This shows once more how deep the biological roots are that ground our cultures, according to truly Darwinian principles, even if these cultures are completely learned.

Abstract:
„Empedocles on Etna”, called by Arnold „dramatic poem”, was not meant to be staged. In a work with three actors (Empedocles, his pupil Pausanias and the poet Callicles) there is almost no action, the predominant role is given to the monologues of the famous philosopher. The article analyzes the image of the main character of the poem. The state of the man of transition era in Ancient Greece, suffering from disappointments, doubts, loneliness, Arnold considered consonant with modernity. Lonely, disillusioned in the world Empedocles is contrasted in the poem with Callicles, who joyfully accepts life. Episodes of Ancient Greece mythology are interwoven into the text of the poem, contributing to the understanding of the image of Empedocles, the nature of the relationship between the characters. Empedocles’ monologues touch upon the problems relevant to the Victorian era, connected with the new attitude to the universe, to nature, to the problems of faith. Empedocles with his “congestion of the brain” is close to the author (according to Arnold himself). Thus, without deviating from the facts of the biography of the ancient poet and philosopher, Arnold, in essence, creates a portrait of his contemporary.

May I, as a retired teacher of constitutional law, ask your permission to refer briefly, in these concluding remarks, to the crucial issue of the protection of privacy in the computer age.The need to protect privacy is deeply rooted in the respect for human dignity, the highest and most fundamental of all values in the civilized world. Considering then the close link between the private sphere of the individual and the very essence of human dignity, we have to attach the greatest importance to the task of protecting the private sphere in the relationship between State and individual and among individuals themselves.

Abstract:
This contribution deals with the reception of John Calvin and his theology in a seventeenth-century Dutch manual of practical theology written by Simon Oomius, a representative of Dutch Reformed Pietism in the period of high Orthodoxy. From the manual, which presents an exhaustive study of the doctrines of Scripture and of God, it becomes clear that Oomius uses Calvin as an important and reliable reference in the areas of dogmatics, exegesis, church history, and spirituality. He takes over arguments from Calvin by paraphrasing him, by using the same examples, by appealing to the same names, by summarizing Calvin’s explanation of biblical texts with approval, or even by including literal citations from his commentaries, letters, and articles, as well as the Institutes. The selective use is almost always in the context of polemics, but carefully in line with Calvin’s own reasoning. This case study shows that Oomius’s portrait of Calvin is directly connected with the essence of his own theology. The reformer of Geneva is considered for the promotion of piety. In Oomius’s eyes, the publications of Calvin are as a whole practically-oriented, and his “Institutes of life” are a living example of a theologia practica.

Abstract:
The essence of the Catholic Church implemented in the modern world is of crucial importance for the understanding its mission towards the state, especially when developing appropriate civil attitudes. One sources of cognition is the historical reflection made on an analytical basis of Catholic media content. This article presents the discourse analysis of Gość Niedzielny (i.e., Sunday Guest), which was one of the most important Catholic publications in Poland, during the reconstruction of the Polish statehood. The pro-state mission of the Catholic Church was an expression of responsibility for common good, was nonpartisan and was connected with the promotion of values that condition the social order. It was believed that the condition of the state is determined by the moral form of its citizens and their level of involvement in social life. Christian values were though to secure and protect also the good of non-Catholic citizens. Here, the research and discourse analysis allows us to define the conclusions regarding contemporary relations between Church and the state in Poland. The key thoughts included in the publications of Sunday Guest, have contemporary application and their message is extremely up-to-date.

Abstract:
Who is the originator of sin, the body or the soul? Does the body present the subject or only the obedient object of the soul manipulation? Does the body have its own interests that do not coincide with the goals and meanings of human life? From what point of view and in what respect does the body consider being subject? The essence of the person is associated with two unequal actors, whose interests may differ and even be opposite. Time and the rhythms of existence can also be different, since the body spends more energy than the soul, and time is a waste of energy. The deeds of the body are deterministic ("the selfish gene"), whereas the behavior of the soul does not always have any connection with reason. The distinction between the two entities allows expressing the assumption that man has two souls. One soul (ego) belongs to the body and is associated with the genetic information of the parents, the other connects to the body of the baby in the womb, coming from another, spiritual world. The soul is mortal, and the soul of the spirit after the body death leaves it and continues to exist in another world, waiting for a new incarnation.

Abstract:
Research into professional discourse is closely connected with the multilayer analysis of ESP within the cognitive linguistic framework. It is very important to consider the anthropocentric focus of the cognitive discursive paradigm and the special attention traditionally paid to the linguistic representation of certain mental structures which serve as a basis for professional communication. Medical discourse studies have a lot to do with the communicative activity involving human life and health, that is why medical discourse needs to be analyzed from the viewpoints of anthropocentric and functional linguistic approaches, as research into various kinds of verbal interactions encompasses both professional communication among specialists and patient-doctor communication, a patient functioning simultaneously as the subject and the recipient of medical aid. As far as specific mental structures are concerned, verbal expressiveness depends on the functional properties of corresponding language units, their pragmatic and communicative characteristics, which tend to be manifested in conceptual metaphorical representation. The aim of this article is to analyze vast empirical material and single out the most significant cognitive linguistic peculiarities of modern English medical discourse. Cognitive linguistic approach allows scientists to define the essence of professional languages as well as to contemplate other research prospects in the context of medical discourse analysis.

Zhelnin, Anton I. "The Bio-Ontological Status of Aging: Atavism or Adaptation?" Vestnik Tomskogo gosudarstvennogo universiteta, no. 458 (2020): 72–78. http://dx.doi.org/10.17223/15617793/458/8.

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to reveal the bio-ontological essence of the process of aging. Even today aging is often viewed as a counterbiological process that is opposed to the self-preservation and homeostasis of the living. This leads to a reductionist understanding of the essence of aging, its equalization to a physical or chemical phenomenon in its nature (for example, biological consequences of the second law of thermodynamics) or to a genocentrical paradigm when it is understood just as an installed hereditary program. The article justifies a different point of view: aging, undoubtedly demonstrating negative aspects and being part of the “insufficiency” of the living, has, nevertheless, a purely biological, adaptive meaning. The author first of all uses dialectical and system methods in order to show that aging is a contradictory process which has both positive and negative effects on biological structures of different levels and to use an old idea that every biological system is much more than a simple sum of its parts. The research proves that aging is not purely destructive but has an important role in maintaining biological homeostasis. A number of phenomena (autophagy, cell apoptosis, work of immunity, etc.) show that the higher level of organization of life exists largely due to control over the number and multiplication of elements on the underlying level, to the active containment of their proliferation. It is important not only for the existence of multicellular organisms but also for superorganism systems (population, biocenosis, ecosystem, etc.). Aging, therefore, can be viewed as a “slow” variant of “phenoptosis” (V.P. Skulachev) not only because of destructive physicochemical tendencies growing inside the organism with time, but rather because of more “sophisticated” processes of biological autopoiesis. Living is not just a static self-preserving, but a system dynamically reproducing by self “re-assembly”, in which the survival of the whole dialectically involves the periodical dying of certain parts. Aging and death of elements are among foundations for their collective endosymbiosis within a holistic biosystem; thus, aging cannot be reduced, for instance, to the process of a simple growth of entropy. In some way, aging shows that death (as its result) is not only an opposition of life but is incorporated in it, too. Moreover, aging is also dialectically balanced by protective and regenerative processes (the concept “vitauсt” by V.V. Frolkis), which permanently try to compensate its negative impact. Probably, the main line of future medical progress in the sphere of aging will be connected with these processes’ activization. Consequently, it can be concluded that aging is not a harmful atavism but rather a kind of complex adaptation. Therefore, it is not aging itself but the intention to its full cancellation that is a contra-biological tendency. Aging can be viewed as a vivid example of a deep dialectical, truly Heraclitian, unity of such contradictions as life and death, when self-preservation of the living goes through the limitation or dying of its particular components.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of the genesis research of the phenomenon “continuing education”. The concept “polistrategical tendencies” is considered as a complex formation which connects philosophical, neurophysiologic, psychological and pedagogical content lines. According to these lines, phenomenon “continuing education” is disclosed in view of: development of human personality, the law of reproduction of society, reproduction of a human as an educated Human (philosophical content line); neuropsychiatric basis of human’s continuing education, engagement of neurostructures “which depend on the experience” in this process (neurophysiologic content line); processes of formation and structuring of human’s personal inner world during the lifetime (psychological content line); meaningful scientifc works in the period from the beginning of the 20th century — nowadays (pedagogical content line). Continuing education is being determined as strategical direction of the development of the world, European and Ukrainian’s systems of education. The aim of the article is to highlight the results of the research of processes of formation and development of the basic principles of the phenomenon “continuing education”. The essence of the concept “polistrategical tendencies” is revealed considering semantics of the concept “strategy”. Polistrategical tendencies are presented as a complex formation which connects philosophical, neurophysiologic, psychological and pedagogical content lines. Their analysis is aimed at a versatile study of processes of formation and development of basic principles of the phenomenon “continuing education”. In philosophical content line phenomenon “continuing education” is looked at in the context of the development of human’s personality (regular change of matter and consciousness, translational motion, transition from one state to another, process of changing object’s structure and changing the way of its functioning), the law of the reproduction of society and reproduction of a human as an educated Human (Homo educates). The content of neurophysiologic content line reveals neuropsychological basis of human’s continuing education, involvement of neurostructures in this process, “which depend on the experience”, three functional blocks of brain, ability to adapt to any life situations is laid in the human genotype, typical for brain probabilistic activity. Psychological content line presents phenomenon “continuing education” from viewpoint of process of formation and structuring of human’s personal inner world during the lifetime. In pedagogical content line processes of formation and development of basic principles of phenomenon “continuing education” are studied as derivatives of formation and development processes of the phenomenon “education” and as self-sufcient processes which are certifed by signifcant developments from the beginning of the 20 century till nowadays. The essence of the problem which is called “human’s gap” is revealed and continuing education as the way of its solution is reviewed.

Abstract:
Beyond the use of social media, people now often connect with people around the globe through online gaming. There are more than one billion people worldwide who play online games, and almost one-half of the population in the U.S are video gamers (Liu, Li, & Santhanam. 2013). There are still common stereotypes that gamers lack “real” friends and hide away from social activities as social isolates because the online world is not conducive to healthy social connections (Nie, 2001, Shen & Williams, 2010; Williams, 2006). However, there are also studies showing that online connections between gamers are healthy. Research with MMORPG players found that game play helped created strong online friendships, and social motives drove player participation (Griffiths et al., 2011). A German study showed that there was no significant difference between gamers and non-gamers in terms of how to socialize with other people online (Domahidi, Festl & Quandt, 2014). To gain a better understanding of gamers’ social characteristics, the present study examined friendships in online and offline domains in a gamer group and a non-gamer group. Ninety-two gamers and fifty-nine non-gamers completed the McGill Friendship Questionnaire (Mendelson & Aboud, 2014). for their closest online and offline friend, and a general measure of personal happiness using the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (Hills and Argyle, 2002). Within group comparison found that for gamers the online friendship was of significantly higher quality than the offline friendship. For non-gamers, the opposite results were found. Of particular importance and interest in this study was the finding that the closest online friendship for the gamer group was not significantly different on any friendship dimension than the closest offline friendship for the non-gamer group, and both groups also showed no difference in general life happiness. In essence, the closest face to face friendship non-gamers enjoy looks the same as the closest online friendship reported by gamers. The results support the conclusion that gamers do have close and important friendships with other people, and that these occur online rather than face to face. The explanation could be that for gamers, their comfort in the online environment allows them to meet and grow close to others within this milieu, even though they may never meet their closest friend face to face. For further study, it will be valuable to see how this finding varies by personal qualities, such as gender, age or loneliness level.
