This paper concerns a specific pursuit-evasion problem with a node-located evader which we call the monk problem. First, we propose a way of verifying a strategy using a new kind of recursive systems, called EL-systems. We show how an EL-system representing a graph-instance of the problem can be represented using matrices, and we give an example of how this can be used to efficiently implement a verifier. Abstract:

As Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) are growing, there have been ceaseless efforts to develop a National Health Information Infrastructure (NHII). One of the challenges in constructing a NHII is concerned with the management of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). In particular, exchanging EHRs is an important factor in establishing interoperability within a NHII, and the reusability of the functionality for exchanging EHRs is one of major solutions to construct an NHII. The design and study of multiple RF direct digital manufactured (DDM) devices are presented in this work. A 2.45 GHz, 180°; hybrid coupler is designed to provide the space required for other system components. The coupler is designed and manufactured on a 32 mil Rogers 4003C substrate and adapted to a 100% in-fill acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) substrate. Abstract:

Road traffic congestion causes several problems. For instance, slow moving traffic in congested regions poses a safety hazard to vehicles approaching the congested region and increased commuting times lead to higher transportation costs and increased pollution.The work carried out in this thesis aims to detect and track road traffic congestion in real time. Real-time road congestion detection is important to allow for mechanisms to e.g. improve traffic safety by sending advanced warnings to drivers approaching a congested region and to mitigate congestion by controlling adaptive speed limits.

Connectedcomponentlabeling(CCL)isatraditionallysequentialproblem that is hard to parallelize. This report aims to test the performance of solving CCL using massively parallel hardware through GPGPU. To achieve this several CCL algorithms were researched and implemented using C++ and OpenCL.
