In grid-connected photovoltaic applications, a supply-frequency output transformer is normally used to isolate the inverter from the supply. This transformer is heavy, costly and adds to the overall power loss. However removal of the output transformer can result in unwanted DC components appearing in the inverter output current. Excessive DC current injection into the distribution network can affect distribution components as well as other loads connected to the network. There are various circuits which can be used to for grid connection without the use of an output transformer. These include

This paper concerns a specific pursuit-evasion problem with a node-located evader which we call the monk problem. First, we propose a way of verifying a strategy using a new kind of recursive systems, called EL-systems. In the later parts we propose heuristics to construct a strategy, based on a greedy algorithm. Our main focus is to minimise the number of pursuers needed, called the search number. The heuri

In this thesis, the main objects of study are probability measures on the isomorphism classes of countable, connected rooted graphs. An important class of such measures is formed by unimodular measures, which satisfy a certain equation, sometimes referred to as the intrinsic mass transport principle. The so-called law of a finite graph is an example of a unimodular measure. We say that a measure is sustained by a countable graph if the set of rooted connected components of the graph has full measure. We demonstrate several new results involving sustained unimodular measures, and provide thorou

Abstract:
With the advance of reliable network technology, software development has progressed from traditional, platform-centric software construction to network-centric software evolution. An evidence of this change is largely reflected in the technologies that are supporting the emerging theory of Network-Centric Operations (NCO). Amongst these technologies is software architecture as a software engineering sub-discipline. Although the concepts of network centricity are widely recognized within the software and system engineering communities, no unified characterization of network-centric software sy

Abstract:
This thesis is based on a project developed by a group of researchers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow. They study sampled dynamics using combinatorial multivector fields. Applying a decomposition into strongly connected components, it is possible to create a directed acyclic graph, called Morse graph, which is a description of the multivector field's global dynamics. Therefore the purpose of this thesis is to compare directed acyclic graphs. In the first chapter we describe the creation process of a Morse graph and an algorithm to stu
