The paper deals with the preparation of an experiment of semi-rigid timber connections using modern timber connectors Rothoblaas Alumidi. The experiment consists of the loading of a timber bracket of structural wood. This bracket is attached to the glue laminated beam using Alumidi connector. There are a few specimens, which will be examined. Each specimen differs in the number of connectors and measurements of timber beams. The deformations of the connection itself, as well as the deformation of the timber bracket will be measured on the specimens. Subsequently, it will be possible to calcula

A new design procedure for fully-restrained welded beamto- column moment connections is presented in this paper. This procedure is based on truss analogy approach developed by the authors (Goel, Stojadinovic, and Lee 1996 and 1997). The truss analogy approach accounts for boundary effects occurring in the connection because the configuration of the connection restrains the deformation of the connected elements (Lee, Goel, and Stojadinovic, 1997). The resulting stress distribution, or "load path" can be modeled using a truss. The diagonals of the truss model represent the resultants of normal a

Purpose:When there is partially anomalous pulmonary venous connection to the superior caval vein, intracardiac repair alone can result in obstruction. Although the Warden procedure involving translocation of the superior caval vein is commonly performed as an alternative to atriocavoplasty, follow-up of a larger number of patients in the modern era is lacking. We report and discuss the experience of a single institution with the Warden procedure for correction of partially anomalous pulmonary venous connection to the superior caval vein. Methods:Since 1995, all 16 patients presenting with parti

AbstractThe Fontan procedure provides a means of separating the systemic and pulmonary circulations in patients with congenital heart defects characterized by a functionally single ventricle. The procedure has undergone numerous changes since its introduction 25 years ago. Technical modifications have now increased its applicability to virtually all forms of univentricular atrioventricular connection, as well as many hearts with biventricular connections. More recently, philosophical changes have been introduced to address increased rates of morbidity and mortality observed in certain subsets

Premium connection has high quality requirements on thread and sealing surface and needs to be machined by CNC lathe. Using loop program in CNC machining has advantages in reducing memory occupying, cutting the computational procedure and simplifying program. However, the processing profile curve often has a special shape. As a result, the idle motion of tools is increased and the production efficiency would be lowed. The paper studies the two procedures of rough turning process and finish turning process in a new gas tight premium connection machining. An improved method is developed by which

A custom peer mentoring program by the cancer center for diagnosis or serious treatment purposes is optimal. Clinicians and patients want the service and attest to the importance of a one-on-one support connection. Methods: Steps were taken to partner with clinicians feeling peer su

Abstract Governments in the region are actively trying to decentralize production in the energy sector by encouraging the construction of power plants using renewable energy resources. The Network Code [1] and the Connection Regulation [2]-[4] define the procedure for issuing connection conditions to the power transmission network in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This paper will demonstrate the necessary approach to assessing the possibilities of connection and placement of the produced power and energy at a specific connection point in the early stages of planning, using the example of an 80 MW pho

Connections are essential in every kind of steel constructions. Structure is a constructed assembly of joints separated by members which implies the importance of connections. Three basic parameters describe the behavior of connections: strength, stiffness and ductility, and the mechanical behavior of steel joint in those terms are complex phenomena. It must be said that absence in current Ukrainian design codes rules for the load capacity calculation of steel constructions connections led to some difficulties in project decisions. On the basis of component method, which lay in the EC3 design
