Full textCe mémoire entame le développement d’une méthode d’évaluation d’assemblages en aluminium liée par adhésifs structuraux dans un contexte d’ingénierie du secteur industriel. Les travaux ont pour but de fournir à l’entreprise Services Précicad inc. des outils de conception applicables sur le véhicule électrique Kargo. Plus spécifiquement, des séries d’essais expérimentaux sont réalisées sur des échantillons ASTM au moyen de plans d’expériences employant la méthode Taguchi pour étudier l’incidence des conditions de préparation manufacturière sur la résistance mécanique et pour faire un dépistage de produits commerciaux. La famille des méthacrylates est alors privilégiée pour répondre aux besoins de flexibilité d’utilisation et de préparation de surface. Ensuite, différents modèles de calculs analytiques sont étudiés et une analyse paramétrique est réalisée sur le joint en cisaillement à simple recouvrement (SLS). Le modèle du joint sandwich simplifié de Bigwood et Crocombe est choisi comme outil de calculs de prédimensionnement de joints génériques, cependant une bonne connaissance des conditions limites est nécessaire. L’approche de simulation par la méthode des éléments finis en mécanique des milieux continus est alors recommandée. D’importantes difficultés de convergence des résultats des contraintes sont identifiées avec cette théorie, entre autres par la présence de singularités numériques aux interfaces du volume de l’adhésif. Des techniques de modélisation simplifiées, utilisant les outils du logiciel NX Nastran, sont ensuite testées et l’outil Surface-Gluing est alors proposé pour permettre la simulation de joints qui reflètent les caractéristiques de modélisation « industrielles » de Précicad. Finalement, une méthode de mesure des propriétés élastiques in situ pour adhésifs flexibles, compensée au moyen d’analyses par éléments finis, est développée afin de pouvoir réaliser une caractérisation avec un extensomètre conventionnel, tout en préservant la précision souhaitée. Ainsi, il a été possible d’isoler les modules de cisaillement et de tension de l’adhésif H8000.

Full textIn recent decades a decrease in sperm quality was observed in most Western countries. While the reasons for this decline are not yet fully understood, environmental factors could greatly contribute. Among them, exposure to materials such as nanomaterials and aluminium, has greatly increased during this period. Therefore, our goal was to assess these exposures impact on male reproductive function. To do so, we conducted two studies to determine testis biodistribution of particles after intramuscular injection in a mouse model. We also conducted two clinical studies, first one to assess the burden of nanoparticles in seminal plasma and to correlate it with sperm count and the second one to evaluate the impact of the aluminum load in semen on sperm parameters. The results of these works and the analysis of literature reassure us about male reproductive toxicity of nanoparticles but revealed a potentially negative impact of aluminum. In both cases, new studies will be needed to further explore these issues

Full textArgan oil has lot of interest for human health. It has been used in traditional medicine for several centuries. The rich composition of argan oil in term of tocopherols and unsaturated fatty acid makes it a very interesting oil regarding its potential actions on risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia and hypertension. Argan oil is also used for skin infections. Previous studies have shown the antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic effects on prostate cancer cell lines. The role of dietary antioxidants in neurological function and in some aged related diseases is centered on vitamin E which is a major molecule of argan oil. The objective of this work was 1) to do a phytochemical study and to evalutate the argan extracts antioxidant properties of argan oils from two Moroccan regions, and 2) to characterize the biochemical composition of argan oils used in this study. Third, we evaluated the protective effects of argan oil and of some of its major compounds in vitro on 158N murine oligodendrocytes, and in vivo in the rat. The effects have been specified in a pro-oxidant environment and cytotoxic mimicked by the 7-ketocholesterol (7KC) and AlCl3. Different methodologies were used: phase contrast microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, histochemistry, flow cytometry, western blotting, and several biochemical methods. Furthermore, 7KC affect the expression of peroxisomal markers (ABCD1, ABCD3, ACOX1) as well as expression of PPARα at the cellular level. The results show that argan oil has cytoprotective and antioxidant effects on 158N murine oligodendrocytes. Argan oil is able to attenuate the overproduction of reactive oxygen species, mitochondrial and lysosomal dysfunctions, loss of cell adhesion and decreased proliferation, cell death by apoptosis and autophagy. We investigate also the effect of aluminum chloride (AlCl3) on brain function and neuronal oxidative stress. Male Wistar rats received daily AlCl3 100 mg/kg for 42 days. AlCl3 exposed group showed a significant reduction in spatial memory performance. Moreover, AlCl3 – treated rats exhibited a marked deterioration of oxidative markers; SOD, CAT, GSH, and changes in the plasma parameters. AlCl3 slightly affects the body weight of rat. Argan oils (or some of their compounds) have cytoprotective and antioxidant effects on 158N murine oligodendrocytes. These different molecules attenuate oxidative stress and could be potentially useful for treating neurodegenerative diseases. Argan oil could exert cytoprotective and antioxidant effects which allows to consider new fields of application for this oil. It is possible to envisage that a controlled diet or functional foods with argan oil could help to prevent some forms of neurodegeneration
من بين الزيوت الطبيعية أثار زيت أركان الكثير من الاهتمام. فقد استخدم زيت الأركان في الطب التقليدي، من قبل نساء البربرللعناية بالجسم و الشعر، و لمنع بعض الأمراض القلب و الأوعية الدموية . يتميز زيت الأركان بوظائفه التي تخص خفض الكوليسترول، مكافحة داء السكري ومكافحة التكاثر في خطوط الخلايا السرطانية البشرية للبروستات. يعتبر زيت اركان غنيا بالأحماض الدهنية غير المشبعة، البوليفينول، التوكوفيرول و الستيرول .هذه المواد تجعله مادة مضادة للأكسدة.يتركز دور مضادات الأكسدة الغذائية في وظيفة الجهاز العصبي وبعض الأمراض المرتبطة بالعمر على فيتامين E الذي يعتبر المكون الرئيسي لزيت أركان . الهدف من هذا العمل هو أولا دراسة كيميائية لنبتة اركان وتقييم القوة المضادة للأكسدة لمقتطفات هذه النبتة مع توصيف شامل لتركيبة زيت أركان المستخدم في دراستنا.وثانيا تقييم للآثار الوقائية لهذا الزيت ولبعض مركباته الرئيسية في المختبر على الخلايا العصبيةN158 وعلى فئران من فئة وينستار. وقد تم تحديد فوائد زيت اركان في بيئة سامة بواسطة KC7 و AlCl3 النتائج المحصل عليها تكمن في تأثيرات مختلفة على الميتوكوندريا، الأمر الذي يؤدي إلى تمزق في توازن الأكسدة , استحثاث موت الخلايا المبرمج والالتهام الذاتي وفقدان الإلتصاق. يؤثر KC7 أيضا على الناقلات البيروكسيزومية (ABCD1,ABCD3,ACOX1) على المستوى الخلوي PARaP. الدراسة المجراة على الفئران بجرعة 100 ملغم/كغم من AlCl3 أظهرت أن AlCl3 يؤدي الى تمزق التوازن الأكسدة عن طريق الحد من أنشطة الإنزيمات المضادة للأكسدة (الكاتلاز,الجلوتاثيون،سيبيروكسيد) على مستوى المادة الرمادية بالمخ وضعف الادراك الذي ارتبط ارتباطا وثيقا بالأمراض العصبية والتغيرات في معالم البلازما. وبشكل عام، تشير الدراسة ان زيت أركان أو البعض من مكوناته قادرون على مكافحة الأكسدة الناجمة عن KC7 و AlCl3

Full textThis thesis focuses on concepts, structures and evaluation of core inflation index for the Vietnam economy. The final purpose of the research is to estimate the core inflation index which enable to provide the best prediction of the Vietnam inflation. From the point of view of methodology, the thesis highlights on the qualitative approaches in order to measure the core inflation index for the Vietnam economy. The different methods have been used as follows: First, the pure statistical measurements such as trimmed mean, exclusion, median, weighted median and reduced - weighted average... and a more sophisticated method, i.e. the dynamic factor model. This model helps to capture the dynamic of an underlying factor which generates the tendency of inflation. Secondly, the three econometric models include SVAR model developed by Quah-Vahey, common trend model and unobservable components model. These models facilitate to better integrate the macroeconomic theory into measurement of core inflation. The later model is selected to overcome the disadvantages of the former one.The structure of the thesis is established in accordance with our research objectives. The introduction presents a brief overview of the research subject. The first chapter discusses the core inflation nature. The chapters 2 and 3 analyze the core inflation measurements and their applications in the case of Vietnam. The statistic measures that are more familiar with central banks in the world are presented in the chapter 2. The third one presents in details the three econometric models. Each measure is studied and presented in the following process: (i) the notion of core inflation, (ii) its theorical background (iii) the estimation techniques and (iv) the application of these measures into the Vietnam data.The obtained core inflation indexes are examined, analyzed and compared to each other. Its results are reported in the chapter 4. The general conclusion sums up the final results of this research. The official result of the study is a set of ten core inflation indexes which responds all the expected properties and seem optimal for the inflation forecasts. Another result that goes beyond our expectation is that one of these ten indexes has a dual function i.e. a good predictor of inflation and a public index of inflation. A supplementary contribution of this thesis is a list of important remarks concerning the estimation technique of core inflation that is applicable in the case of Vietnam

Full textVentilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the most common hospital-acquired infection in the intensive care unit (ICU setting. Despite the availability of evidence-based guidelines to prevent VAP, they remain poorly implemented. The objective was to determine the effect of a 2-yr multifaceted program aimed at preventing VAP. The program involved a healthcare workers (HCWs) and included a multidisciplinary task force, an educational session, direct observations with performance feedback, technical improvements, and reminders. It focused on eight targeted measures based on well recognized published guidelines, easily and precisely defined acts, and directly concerned HCW's bedside behavior: 1 compliance with hand-hygiene rules including use of an alcohol-based hand rub, 2) proper glove and gown use, 3) keeping patients in the semi-recumbent position, 4) keeping the endotracheal tube cuff pressure >20 cm H2O, 5) using orogastric tubes rather than nasogastric tubes, 6) avoiding gastric overdistension, 7) decontaminating the patient's mouth with 0. 12% chlorhexidine at least four times/day, and 8) eliminating nonessential tracheal suction. We studied the impact of the programme on compliance with the targeted preventive measures, on HCWs'individual factors and on VA incidence and the role of technical devices. Our preventive program produced sustained VAP rate decreases in the long term. However, VAP rates remained substantial despite high compliance with preventive measures, suggesting that eliminating VAP in the ICU may be an unrealistic goal
