Abstract:
Historically, Christian rap emerged in the context of Evangelical Christianity in the US. Since its birth in the 1970s, it has been often represented as a tool for evangelization and outreach in the modern urban environment. Although there are stories of purported success of these attempts, most US Christian rappers have since turned to Christians as their primary audiences. There are two main attitudes towards the world and its culture among Christian rappers that are manifest in their approach to the style of their songs. Nevertheless, the general attitude towards the world and culture in Christian rap is that of distancing from these aspects, and Christian rappers want to transform or educate the faithless society, Thereby denying the world its capacity to acquire genuine meaning and truth without Christian assistance. There is a discussion on terminology for engaging Christian rap from an academic perspective. Although some Christian rap scholars prefer to use a definition such as “Christians and hip-hop” to include all the possible interactions of Christians, rappers, and hip-hop culture, throughout the article the studied phenomenon is called “Christian rap” to distance the study of the actual rap lyrics and theology they contain from the analysis of hip-hop beats, breakdance, graffiti and/or other elements of hip-hop culture. This problem with definition mirrors the discussion common to the study of Contemporary Christian music genres, where there is debate on the question of criteria that can be employed to define “Christian music”. Latvian Christian rap represents an array of attitudes towards the world. There are examples of “worship rap” or separational approach to Contemporary Christian music and examples of integrational approach. These two approaches represent different attitudes towards the world, although fundamentally all Latvian Christian rappers that are mentioned in the article distance themselves from the world and wish to enlighten it or reach the faithless with their appropriation of popular contemporary music. Latvian Christian rap is a marginal phenomenon because it struggles with acceptance in Christian circles as much as among non-Christians that are to be its main and desired audience. Rap and hip-hop are perceived to be connected to protest, violence, drugs and other things that are foreign to the image of Christianity in Latvia.

Abstract:
In modern times, the understanding of holiness is often overshadowed by notions of achievement in various areas of human existence, and holiness could be understood as merely human commitment in the moral realm. Therefore, within the Christian tradition there are discussions of a call to holiness and not only to moral perfection, where holiness rests above all on the fact of God’s chosenness, to which the Christians respond by changing concrete lives. This article shall highlight several main characteristics of holiness as a model of Christian existence important to the Church in the third millennium. Firstly, a biblical-theological account of holiness shall be presented as a landmark of understanding holiness in the Church and in theology. Then, the fundamental dimension of holiness shall be introduced which is the principle of giftedness, opposed in a certain contrast to the widely present principle of achievement and perfection. The third part shall highlight the exemplary character of holiness, which has the ability to attract others, thus realizing in the life of the Church its main character of holiness that comes from God Himself. In their response to God, Christians find a model among the saints who have accepted various means of consecration within the Church and given God an answer to His call to holiness. Finally, the importance of a personal response to the call to holiness shall be indicated. The goal of Christian holiness is to unite with God, and on the way to this union, the effort of every individual who manifests himself primarily in accepting God’s gifts and His grace is also needed. Moral and sacred life is not primarily the adventure of spiritual giants of tried and tested moral behaviour and virtues, where these behaviours and virtues are only the result of their own endeavour and humanistic aspirations, but rather holiness is a response to God to his great love, which he expressed in the history of salvation and in the lives of people.

Abstract:
This essay follows the broad contours of patristic and ecclesiastical history relative to African Christianity. Rival Catholic and Protestant narratives of the origin and trajectory of African Christianity in the early modern period continued to influence historiography, even after the acceptance of critical historical methods in the 19th century. The advent of archeological research in the colonial period opened new vistas on African history and ushered in the sociohistorical approach which characterized early Christian studies in the 20th century. Finally, the “linguistic turn” in early Christian studies inspired by critical theory has directed recent research toward issues surrounding the identities of African Christians, rhetorical and real.

Abstract The twenty-first-century saw the considerable rise of the movement of peoples largely due to the structures and processes of globalization. The gifts and challenges associated with the massive flow of people on the move, almost half of whom are Christians, constitute a locus for exploring Christian mission and ministry. The following text explores some of the faces of Christian mission and ministry as a result of, or in response to, the gifts and challenges posed by contemporary human mobility. The text shows how an authentically inclusive church that works for justice, particularly for the most vulnerable migrants, constitutes the key expression of Christian mission and ministry in the context of global migration.

AbstractDespite consideration from missiologists studying Muslim-to-Christian conversion, the role of dreams in contemporary Christian conversion has not received widespread attention. Additionally, though researchers have frequently noted the use of dreams among Pentecostal/charismatic Christians, this finding stands in need of exploration vis-à-vis the concept of conversion. This study will address each of these issues and further the general understanding of the role of dreams in Christian conversion by examining this topic in contemporary Nepal, a predominantly Hindu nation with a rapidly growing, extensively Pentecostal/charismatic Christian community. Relying on data from a combination of surveys, interviews, and participant observation, this study discusses the prevalence, preconditions, processes, and impact of dream-related conversion vis-à-vis a Pentecostal church context in Nepal.

Abstract:
Abstract Israel and the Jewish people play a central role in the millennial thought of evangelical Christians. Drawing on older Christian messianic elements, as well as introducing new concepts, evangelicals have looked upon the Jews as historical Israel and at Palestine as ground zero of End-Times millennial events. Beginning in the nineteenth century, evangelicals have become actively involved in attempts to build a Jewish commonwealth in Palestine. They have looked upon the building of a Jewish state as a “sign of the time,” an indication that the current era is ending and the messianic events are about to occur. Especially in the aftermath of the 1967 war, evangelicals have become ardent supporters of Israel, turning in effect into a pro-Israel lobby in Washington and, at times, in other capitals too. Although evangelical Christians are engaged in extensive missionary work among Jews, an unprecedented cooperation has developed between groups of evangelicals and Orthodox-nationalist Jews. Among the mutual projects is the attempt to build the Temple in Jerusalem in preparation for the events preceding the arrival of the Messiah to earth.

Abstract:
Over the past 4 and a half years, I have studied contemporary art and seen countless artworks being made in an academic setting. In doing so, I have come to the realization that religious content is rare in today’s time. While it is not actively discouraged, the environment I am in and the current art community does not seem to be particularly interested in merging the two concepts. Without understanding why, I subconsciously kept art and my faith as separate entities for the first few years of my higher education. But as I matured and developed my own artwork, I began to feel as though my identity and my interests should be rooted in my relationship with God. Upon this reflection, I began looking for ways to make Christian art in a contemporary setting that could also be accepted by those who do not share my faith.

The rising popularity of the use of "contemporary music" for worship in Christian churches has created an ever-growing body of music professionals who, coming largely from a rock-influenced folk idiom, are often untrained in music theory. As the style of music has shifted from the traditional model, stemming from classical genres, to one dominated by popular music, many of these musicians see theory education as impractical or at least unneeded given their particular stylistic approach. In order to address this issue, a method must be developed, departing from standard methods of theory pedagogy to one employing selected concepts and applications pertaining particularly to the context the contemporary worship setting and presenting them in a manner immediately beneficial to these musicians' vocational considerations. This thesis serves as a possible solution by proposing such a method and comparing it to the approaches of three major theory methods on these terms.

Abstract:
The first Chapter of this Thesis explores recent feminist critical methods: polemical works, language and linguistics, feminist literary criticism and psychoanalytical works. The second Chapter offers a critique of the androcentrism of Phenomenology of Religion and an appreciation of the "new-style Phenomenology" of Jacques Waardenburg, which stresses the need for constant methodological self-awareness by the scholar and the importance of the explicit and underlying religious intentions of the subject of research. In both Chapters, the author stresses the expediency of her own pluralistic and "wholistic" method which is controlled by her understanding that feminism brings an inevitable and enriching paradigm shift to the Study of Religion. The rest of this Thesis is an application of the methodology discussed in Chapters I and II. The third Chapter includes a description of the three groups of women who were the subjects of this research. The fourth and fifth Chapters discuss their cosmology and relationship to the Object of Religion. The sixth Chapter discusses the dynamics underlying their religious expression, including the following: dynamics of sexuality, gender and religious tension, the religious legitimation of sex and gender stereotyping, and current changes in the religious legitimation of sex and gender stereotyping. The final Chapter is a discussion of the world of religious phenomena of the three groups of women outlined in Chapter III. These are discussed under the headings of Sacred Space, Time, Community, Persons, Word and Action.

Abstract:
This thesis contends that contemporary work processes shape fundamentally Quaker practice in the everyday context. This qualitative research is based on semi-structured interviews of opportunistically acquired participants. It is therefore an in-depth, if not statistically representative, study of the contemporary Quaker tradition. Participants in the research are overwhelmingly adult converts who frame conversion to the Quaker church in liberating terms. The interviewees depict the prescription of religion by mainstream Christian churches as oppressing the individual religious enterprise. Rather, Quakers in the research tend to see their religious journey as a primarily individual project which is affirmed by their conversion to the church. Tensions are also evidenced, however, between affiliates’ highly individualised re-imagination of the Quaker tradition and conformity to the collective concern. The interviewees claim an intention to improve the world, matching Quaker horizons with those espoused by their work organisations. Lived religion and work are thus conflated by affiliates with regard to their everyday social practice. Workaday tensions, however, show that the claimed utopian compact between affiliates and the work setting is provisional. The thesis concludes that, whilst the contemporary work organisation sets out the terms of affiliates’ social practice, these Quakers tend towards pragmatism in the everyday.

Abstract:
The article notes that with the beginning of Russia's military aggression and its insidious attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022, we have new accents in our approaches to understanding the phenomenon of happiness. Ukrainian churches and religious organizations have given a proper assessment of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine. At the same time, solving the problem of happiness is not relevant and, in general, characteristic of the Christian tradition, in which the category of holiness is analogous to the perception of the happy way of life of the individual. In this article, the author compares the concepts of happiness and holiness through the phenomena of holiday, sin. The author considers new theological approaches to understanding "social" and "collective" sin. Understanding holiness as the ability to overcome suffering, to affect, allows us to distinguish two types, ascetic and corporeal. Holiness as a life-affirming principle (ability to live) is reflected in the phenomenon of the folk type of holiness, the origin of which is attributed to the seventeenth - nineteenth centuries, associated with the active process of desacralization of all spheres of life. Modern theologians speak of the need for a positive, optimistic perception of the surrounding reality in order to fulfill the individual mission of Orthodox believers, linking the implementation of this mission with the acquisition of a special state of holiness. There is a "theology of earthly realities" that overcomes the gap between the sacred and the secular, postulates the need for a conscious faith that loves the world and makes people happy. Key words: holiness, holiday, folly, sin, happiness

Abstract:
The author interprets two forms of figurativeness of the mystical experience – the touch of man with the spiritual world, God, and the experience of amazement at being – by analysing the symbol of the table in contemporary art. The author first identifies the figurativeness of the fragmentary experience contrary to the mystical experience. Subsequently, she examines the mystical table in the icon of the Trinity by Andrei Rublev as a symbol of sacred hospitality and the eucharistic sacrifice. She also examines the icon’s philosophy as a meeting of the human and the transcendent world (Florensky, Trubeckoi, Evdokimov etc.). Finally, she explains the signs of the figurativeness of the mystical semantics of the table in three contemporary paintings (Jakabčic, Podhorský). These include, for example, Christian allusions, visual minimalism, white colour, contemplative immobility, mysterious to paradoxical imaginations, or the expressive-symbolic use of red and blue.

Huang Lihai is one of the most active contemporary Chinese poets in the past two decades. His poems are a return to poetry, language and life. In the era of change and grand discourse dominating the aesthetic interpretation of literature, Huang Lihai’s poetry and spiritual exploration have obvious implications. His vitality in poetry creation and poetry activities has an important connection with his Christian faith and his thought resources. Huang Lihai pays close attention to individual life with heavy religious feelings, and tries to restore the relationship between man and god, the relationship between man and man, and the relationship between man and nature in the post-modern era. Backed by belief, he maintained human dignity and integrity with poetry, and opened up the divine dimension of poetry writing, which opened up a new aesthetic dimension for the Chinese contemporary poetry.

Abstract:
Europe is today exposed to numerous security challen- ges. The permanent influx of migrant population represents a very high security challenge, which primarily threatens the European popula- tion. Strong barriers to entry into the European Union, placed at the borders of Hungary and Croatia, hinder the flow of migrants, but on the other hand, they enable various illegal and impermissible ways of crossing state borders, open opportunities for human trafficking and also contribute to additional destabilization in the depth of the terri- tory of the European Union. Who are the migrants, where do they come from and with what motives, is an essential question. How much do migrants imply in certain security risk situations in the European Union and do they abuse the difficult security situation that occurred on the Asian and African continents to place their „warriors“ on European soil to wage religiously motivated wars against the Christian population. These are fundamentally important issues facing the European Union today and they are the most important security risks. For the purposes of the research presented in this paper, a security assessment was made in one European country, Austria, in a given time frame and in a location that is considered the most critical in terms of the overall security of the local population. Taking into account that Austria is a good benchmark and indicator of the situation in the whole of Europe, because since the beginning of the migrant processes, it has received a large number of migrant populations from all over the world and provided them with a good shelter. Austria can rightfully be classified in the category of more regula- ted European countries, both in terms of the standard of living of citi- zens, in terms of the social rights of citizens, and in terms of the degree of protection of human and civil rights. However, Austria is facing serious problems of a security nature, which is significantly contribu- ted by precisely that migrant population, which successfully reaches Austrian cities. The picture that can be seen in Austria today is deva- stating from the security point of view, because whole gangs, mostly made up of migrants from Asia and partly from Africa, dominate bus and train stations, streets and entire neighborhoods. The Austrian po- pulation often feels unsafe, and when observing the field, from direct contacts with the local population, the authors of the paper learned that some residents of neighborhoods experienced concrete physical attacks from migrant criminal structures

Abstract:
The Educational manuals, which were fully applied in the 18th and 19th centuries, were a substantial part of the educational and cultural formation of a man. They provided simplified answers to various religious questions, questions concerning biblical and ecclesiastical history, or even Christian morality. They also taught about the origin of church holidays, ceremonies and the origin of liturgical languages used in individual local churches. These interpretations have been contained in various educational or interpretative manuals and manuscript collections. The structure of these handbooks was an excellent tool for the successful education of local churches. The paper focuses on the characterization of selected scientific manuscripts from the 18th century, which provide a contemporary picture of knowledge related to the linguistic and liturgical tradition under the Carpathian Mountains, associated with the Cyril and Methodius heritage. Manuals with these educational dimensions were used in educational training and upbringings in the environment of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Church, in the 18th century.

Abstract:
In this article we will present thought of Friedrich Schleiermacher, the father of modern Protestant theology and Metropolitan of Pergamon John D. Zizioulas, most brilliant contemporary Orthodox theologian. This article is an attempt to explain the doctrine of the Holy Trinity in relation to the concept of Divine revelation. Schleiermacher intended to show that the doctrine of the Holy Trinity cannot be regarded as a di- rect restatement of revelation. According to him, triadology has no ex- istential consequences. He taught that the doctrine of the Holy Trinity is unnecessary and misleading. Consequently, doctrine was displaced from a position of importance in theological system. Unlike him, for Metropolitan Zizioulas triadology represents the on- tological basis of Christian existence. For Orthodox theology, God’s im- manent life, His existence as Holy Trinity has been totally revealed to us in Christ. Also, Divine revelation cannot be separated from the Church, which is the icon of the Holy Trinity. Participating in the Eucharist, a person also participates in the life of God. Triadology is soteriological, ie. existentially relevant.
