Abstract:

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to show the evolution of the historical novel that began in the era of independence, to highlight the peculiarities of male and female historical narratives, and to capture critical reactions and tendencies of assessment of that kind of novel. At the beginning of independence, the poetic prose of a minimal story was established in Lithuanian literature, which was created by the most prominent Lithuanian prose writers, and the historical novel made its debut as a complex experience of poetic narration. Poetry and prose focused on archetypal narratives, national consciousness and ethnic semantics and were characterized by an abundance of associations, but not by a clear storyline. Among common variations of the male historical novel, we can observe historical novels written by women, which have won both literary awards and readers’ approval.

Abstract:
This inquiry sought to discover the images of women as portrayed in the contemporary short stories entitled “Fallout” by Maria L.M. Fres-Felix and “Language” by Sunantha Mendoza. Feminist Literary Criticism, specifically liberal, radical, Freudian, socio-cultural, stereotypical feminist perspective were employed to critically analyze the actions and feminist perspective of the female characters. The study attempted to meet the following objectives: 1) to describe the images of women as depicted by the authors in the stories; 2) to identify the dominant devices used in the stories; and, 3) to determine the feminist themes conveyed in the stories. Through examining and analyzing the short stories, different images of women were discovered. The close textual reading resulted in the researcher’s coming up with the following findings: female characters are portrayed as involved, sophisticated, strong-minded, competitive, independent and unconventional. The dominant devices are symbols, juxtaposition, foreshadowing, imagery, idiom, metaphor, irony and figures of speech were effectively utilized in the stories to probe the images of women that are found in each story. Indeed, women will come a long way in facing the battle against patriarchal values.

Abstract:
This article is the result of a master's research that aimed to understand how women experience the roles in contemporary conjugality and in the exercise of motherhood, and what the senses they attribute to these experiences. From the existential-phenomenology of Jean-Paul Sartre and the invaluable contributions of Simone de Beauvoir about the situation of women, it was possible to understand how is developed the being project of the collaborators of this study, middle-class women, workers, living a relationship, and with children, residents in Fortaleza, Ceará. For data collect, the phenomenological interview was used with a triggering question "how is being a woman?". For the analysis of the results, the Progressive-Regressive method was used. The results show that, even with a formal instruction and a financial independence of women, their roles in conjugal relationships have undergone few modifications in relation to the increase of responsibilities that fall on them. The idea that there is a feminine essence permeates the experience lived by these women in motherhood, in the contemporary conjugality and in the job market, pointing out that there are still many obstacles to solve social problems through the life history of these women.

Abstract:
The work focuses on how marginalization manifests itself in various contexts, including the workplace, education, health and housing, and how it affects various groups of the population, including minorities, women, youth and people with disabilities. The author emphasizes the importance of an intersectoral approach to the problem of marginalization, calling for the integration of the efforts of Government, the private sector, non-governmental organizations and marginalized groups themselves in finding sustainable solutions to overcome exclusion and promote social inclusion and equality. In addition to theoretical analysis, the article contains practical recommendations for the development and implementation of policies and programs aimed at reducing marginalization and its negative consequences. The author emphasizes the need to take into account the diversity of experiences and perspectives of marginalized groups in order to create a more just and inclusive society.

Abstract:
In the Nordic countries, at a time when women have only recently won the right to their own bodies and to a sexuality of their own and for themselves, women nevertheless fake orgasms. Moreover, a common question posed to the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU) deals with lack of desire. Not only are women faking and complaining of lack of desire, but men as well. It seems that contemporary ideals surrounding sexuality converge with quests for not only pleasure and love, but also for fitting in and experiencing what is conceived of as normal and “successful” sexuality. This essay examines the contemporary and prevalent phenomenon of faked orgasms from the perspectives of feminist theory and phenomenology.
