This way, each of the semiotic sensible modes shall be characterized by a specific field of presence. Abstract:
This article aims to study how the Spanish Civil War has been approached by Portuguese 9th-grade History textbooks, from the 80s until nowadays. Using a qualitative-comparative methodology, we analyse topics such as the number of pages and quantity/quality of information; historical documents used; relation with other historical contents, among others. From this analysis, it is concluded that, despite the historical relevance and the geographic and temporal proximity of the theme, it has been taught in an increasingly brief, almost schematic way, with little problematisation of the content.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to discuss and shed light on the following questions: What is an author? Is it a person who writes? Or, is it, in information, an iconic taxonomic designation (some might say a “classification”) for a group of writings that are recognized by the public in some particular way? What does it mean when a search engine, or catalog, asks a user to enter the name of an author? And how does that accord with the manner in which the data have been entered in association with the names of the entities identified with the concept of authorship? Design/methodology/app

The article is devoted to the analysis of the pragmatics and semiotics in the productive comic genre of digital communication – the political meme. The empirical material consists of actual internet heterogeneous texts, created after the publication of Alexei Navalny’s film “Palace for Putin”. The comic content is viewed as a way of defusing the public tension of the sanctioned protest, an instrument for interpreting and discussing current social reality, as well as a method of demonizing a political subject “them”. The research assumes multimodality of the media environment and its products.

However, the Woni's Mother content inspired by these letters largely adheres to the idealized image of a Joseon-era woman as assigned by traditional gender roles, failing to break away from that framework.
