It changes the host-centric model to a content-centric model and allows each CCN router to cache content. Since the cache size of a router is limited, design of a cooperative caching scheme is an important issue in CCN. Among them is the Age-Based Cooperative caching scheme (ABC) which gives an age (i.e., time-to-live) to each piece of content in the cache based on the content popularity and the location of the cached node to reduce the bandwidth consumption and server loading. Abstract:
Over the past few years Information-Centric Networking, a networking architecture in which host-to-content communication protocols are introduced, has been gaining much attention. A central component of such an architecture is a large-scale interconnected caching system. To date, the modeling of these cache networks, as well as understanding of how they should be managed, are both in their infancy. This dissertation sets out to consider both of these challenges. We consider approximate and bounding analysis of cache network performance, the convergence of such systems to steady-state, and the

It replaces the current IP address connection method with the features of named data and content stores for improving network performance. The content store is used to cache data at nodes in the transmission path. For instance, data cached at the routers where in its forwarding path. As a result, the content selection for content cache is vital to CCNs, because the cache size of each router is limited. However, existing content cache sch

In a CCN, the content can be cached in the storage area of a node during the data delivery process, and a node can directly extract data from the storage area when receiving the query, thus improving the efficiency of data content distribution in a network. The node needs to forward the query through the Forwarding Information Base (FIB). Its function is similar to the IP protocol routing table, and the query is forwarded to the pro

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a communication paradigm in which objects of everyday life will be able to, among others, communicate with one another, becoming an integral part of the Internet. In this context, wireless networking is expected to sustain the direct interaction between personal users’ devices and also to provide connectivity on large-scale resource-constrained devices. However, conventional networking protocols fail in large scale mobile wireless environments, such as IoT scenarios, due to node mobility, dynamic topologies, and intermittent connectivity. Ever increasing user base of social media platforms such as Facebook, Youtube and the Over-the-Top platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video etc., has increased the demand for High Definition Videos/Contents over the Mobile Networks. This has triggered a new area of research named the Content Centric Networks (CCNs), where the designs of network are based on Contents and their features such as popularity, frequency of request, size of the content etc. Since, the social media and the OTT platforms are here to stay, the Next Generation wireless networks such as 5G, 6G etc. are inherently designed t
