Abstract:
Teams of scientific specialists have replaced independent researchers, simultaneously the research team size has increased by 50% over the 19‑year period. Better collaborations between project team members might improve research outcomes or R&D project products. Knowledge needs to be communicated among a research team effectively and shared among all research team members as it is created collaboratively. Collaboration can be successfully supported by providing a knowledge sharing environment and communication facilities. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the feasibility and discuss novel communication among scientists using a content management system (CMS) which operates based on the Software‑as‑a‑Service (SaaS) cloud‑computing model. This study presents the use of CMS for the collaboration of a research team carrying out a research project funded by the Polish National Science Centre.

Abstract:
Instead of managing metadata in a content management system (CMS) for content delivery, this research uses an ontology to make use of augmented intelligence. Hence, the retrieval of specific information in a content delivery system (CDS) is provided by a concise metadata concept. Ontology-based metadata concepts can have advantages in comparison to taxonomy-based metadata concepts because of the possibilities they offer to display linked information. The creation of an ontology depends on the vendor’s system, the vendor’s approach and most importantly the particular use case. Due to the ontology modelling, a data transformation for an external CDS is needed. When working with different vendors, requirements and considerations need to be discussed because the outcome can add value to user experience. The goal of this research is to identify the advantages of an ontology system over metadata management in a CMS. These advantages can be extracted by opportunities offered by the ontology modelling and by the transformation process.

<span>Traditional, larger libraries can rely on their physical collection, coffee shops, and study rooms as ways to entice patrons into their library. Yet virtual libraries merely have their online presence to attract students to resources. This can only be achieved by providing a fully functional site that is well designed and organized, allowing patrons to navigate and locate information easily. One such technology significantly improving the overall usefulness of Web sites is a content management system (CMS). Although the CMS is not a novel technology per se, it is a technology smaller libraries cannot afford to ignore. In the fall of 2004, the Northcentral University Electronic Learning Resources Center (ELRC), a small, virtual library, moved from a static to a database-driven Web site. This article explains the importance of a CMS for the virtual or smaller library and describes the methodology used by ELRC to complete the project.</span>

In this study, the author surveyed academic library web managers from four-year institutions to discover whether they had adopted CMSs, which tools they were using, and their satisfaction with their website management system. Other issues, such as institutional control over library website management, were raised. The survey results showed that CMS satisfaction levels vary by tool, and that many libraries do not have input into the selection their CMS because the determination is made at an institutional level. These findings will be helpful for decision makers involved in the selection of CMSs for academic libraries.</p>

The library's website is seen as a communication tool, helping to create and publish information regarding its activities and services. Creating and maintaining an interactive library website requires technical knowledge, money, and time. And keeping the library website in the traditional way creates problems even for library staff with little technical skills. Content management systems (CMS) are computer software systems to organize, view and facilitate the creation of collaborative content. They consist of predefined modules and functions for managing and organizing website content. Using the content management system, library professionals can create and update the website's focus on content and don't have to worry about the layout. Abstract The present paper proposes the application of Semiotic Engineering theory to Content Management Systems (CMS) focusing on the analysis of how the use of different ontologies can affect the user’s efficiency when performing tasks in a CMS. The analysis is performed using the theoretical semiotic model Web-Semiotic Interface Design Evaluation (W-SIDE model). The Ontology Translation concept is proposed as a practical enhancement for the W-SIDE model. The enhanced model is validated by using a proof of concept based on test cases of a fictitious scenario. The validation process is carried out modifying an open source CMS. The testing of the modified CMS if performed by a volunteer tester that fits both the Ontology Translation concept and the fictitious scenario. Finally, the results of the experiment are critically evaluated establishing limitations, conclusions, and recommendations for future studies.

Abstract:
A remaining management system requirement is for major metropolitan areas to develop congestion management systems (CMS). These systems must identify and evaluate congestion and select mitigation strategies on the basis of systemwide analysis. In addition, congestion relief strategies must be selected that emphasize operational and demand management strategies in favor of, or in coordination with, new highway capacity. The CMS provides a level of analysis on a regional scale, but it can also guide additional studies that may be required at the subarea, corridor, or project level. This provides an important link between regional and subregional planning efforts and ensures that the policies to guide strategy selection are maintained throughout the process. In addition, a well-designed CMS can eliminate duplication of effort and support later major investment study or National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 planning work to streamline the planning effort. The CMS is an integrated part of the metropolitan planning process, but congestion mitigation must be considered in a larger context and with consideration given to other planning factors. WILMAPCO developed a four-step CMS process that included system identification, congestion identification, strategy evaluation, and system monitoring. The CMS was also developed through a strong interagency effort, including the input of planning and project development staff at member implementing agencies, who have the responsibility to use the CMS products to guide further planning and project development efforts. Although additional work is required, the WILMAPCO CMS will support planning work and influence policy debate regarding transportation investment priorities and regional quality-of-life goals.

Abstract The knowledge based organization is the organization in which production and consumption of knowledge is the most important type of activity, knowledge is recognized as a key resource, information and communication technologies are core technologies and information environment, together with the social and the ecological ones, constitute the human existence. The information society allows broad access to information for its members, becoming a new way of working and knowledge. The new digital technologies essential reduce the cost of access, storage and transmission of information. IT systems play an important role in processes that speed up the exchange of information within the organization and between organizations and in effective dissemination of information to the consumer or, if we are talking in the context of education, student. In this context, where there is an ongoing need for education and training, the Web has become a new medium for publishing the information. So, websites are used to promote businesses and products, provide services and information, and facilitate communication. For medium and large sites, the question of their content management occurs. Therefore content management systems have been implemented (CMS). The system inputs are information to be published, and the outputs are the pages that will be seen by visitors. Content management is the systematic and structured supply, creation, processing, management, presentation, publishing and content reuse. There is a wide range of CMS, but no solution is able to manage all types of content. Referring this in the field of education and learning, the article aims to analyze the types of CMS systems consistent with known theories and models of learning: behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism & connectivism.

To update school websites, incorporating personality and ease of maintenance and management, the authors propose the use of a Content Management System (CMS). A CMS is a self-publishing Website platform for university information resources. The system has many features, such as self-service, fast station, self-service custom modules, dynamic replacement site style template, flexible adjustment of dynamic website contents and structures, search engine optimization (SEO) measures, and so forth. Each institution can customize according to their own information platform needs. A CMS greatly shortens the development cycle of the site and promotes the development of information technology on campus.

Abstract:
Increasingly sophisticated content management systems (CMS) allow librarians to publish content via the web and within the private domain of institutional learning management systems. “Libraries as publishers” may bring to mind roles in scholarly communication and open scholarship, but the authors argue that libraries’ self-publishing dates to the first “pathfinder” handout and continues today via commonly used, feature-rich applications such as WordPress, Drupal, LibGuides, and Canvas. Although this technology can reduce costly development overhead, it also poses significant challenges. These tools can inadvertently be used to create more noise than signal, potentially alienating the very audiences we hope to reach. No CMS can, by itself, address the fact that authoring, editing, and publishing quality content is both a situated expertise and a significant, ongoing demand on staff time. This article will review library use of CMS applications, outline challenges inherent in their use, and discuss the advantages of embracing content strategy.

Abstract:
A Content Management System (CMS), is software that helps to create, manage and alter (modify) content on a website by users without the need for specialized technical knowledge. CMS is an activity of collecting, organizing, categorizing and structuring information that is to be published on the website. In lucid and simple language, a CMS is a tool that helps users to build a website without needing to write all the code from scratch. All basic infrastructure stuffs like building users own systems for creating (web pages), storing (images) are handled by CMS itself.

The Hugh Williamson Gait Analysis Laboratory is a world leader in the analysis of walking disorders in children. Using state of the art equipment, highly specialised staff are able to determine why children walk the way they do. Knowing this, it is then possible to plan treatment individually for each child. Gait Lab aims to make thorough and reliable measurements of children’s walking ability in an efficient and friendly manner. It provides considered interpretations of these measurements to referring clinicians and conducts research to advance the understanding of human walking. This paper introduces The Gait Analysis Laboratory Content Management System, a contemporary approach using a Content Management System for surgery and research alike. The system provides the ability for surgeons to edit data and extract specific reports for research using the Internet from any location and at any time. The CMS has the functionality to save patient details, create referrals and make appointments, information which can be used for specific reports, during the surgery process, and for research around the world.

Abstract:
Course Management System (CMS) is now probably the most used educational technologies in higher education, behind only the Internet and common office software. It can facilitate posting content, participating in discussions, maintaining a grade book, tracking participation and managing learning activities in an online environment for instructors and learners. But question arises to what extent these systems are successful in developing countries like Bangladesh. Unfortunately there are very few reports and publication that have tried to focus on above issues. In this study, an evaluation and analysis of CMS in developing countries like Bangladesh was carried out to assess the success of the system by using “ITPOSMO' model. The study found that CMS is partially failing in higher educational institutions in Bangladesh.

Abstract:
The current study investigates whether students’ tool use in a Content Management Systems (CMSs) for example, blackboard, WebCT, relates to students’ strategy use within a CMS-supported course. In this way, the study strives to explain the tool use differences, and furthermore, it strives to find (online) behavioral indications for students’ strategy use. Data were collected within a first-year undergraduate course “Learning & Instruction”. Students (n=182) reported their strategy use as measured through the Inventory of Learning Styles (Vermunt, 1998). Students’ tool use within the CMS was logged. K-means cluster analyses revealed four clusters that were characterized by different strategies and accompanying tool use. Specifically, two clusters revealed a tool use pattern that was in line with the behavioral profile of students’-reported strategy use. Interestingly, two clusters revealed a tool use pattern that was in contrast to the reported strategy use. These results raise questions with respect to students’ tool perceptions and students’ calibration capacities.

Abstract:
The emergence of e-learning tools such as Course Management Systems (CMS) offer instructors a practical means to transition from face-to-face to blended delivery modalities that could better serve the needs of digital learners. However, instructors fail to take advantage of such existing modern classroom technologies to provide better learning experiences for their learners. Part of this is due to the lack of a system to determine the underuse of technological tools in a CMS. This project focused on examining the degree of Moodle technology integration into course instruction to support effective student teaching and learning by three instructors. This article stimulates reflections on pedagogical experiences with regard to course content material and instructor practices. The study illustrates that instructors and learners can believe technology is being used well in a CMS course site when the opposite is true.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Purpose This study aims to develop a success factor model to understand and facilitate improved cost management system (CMS) implementation in low-cost housing (LcH) project delivery in Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach Literature findings highlight 13 drivers affecting effective implementation within the CMS and uses series of brainstorming sessions and questionnaire surveys to validate the drivers. Factor analysis (FA) identifies possible contextual relationships among the validated drivers and groups them into three success factors. The results of the FA are refined using interpretive structural modelling (ISM). The ISM identifies and models the influential drivers and aids the development of the success factor model. Findings Effective team qualities, information and management actions and a stable operational environment are the three essential success factors for effective CMS implementation. Practical implications The paper highlights effective team qualities as the most important CMS considerations for Nigerian LcH project delivery. This finding creates the needed awareness to guide project sponsors and project managers in the appropriate selection of the project management team (PMT) as well as the procurement system that facilitates their collaboration. Originality/value This study is a novel research using FA and ISM to investigate the influence of success factors needful for effective implementation within the CMS. It further develops a hierarchy model that aids the PMT with better understanding of the drivers and factors interrelationships for use on LcH projects within the Nigerian context.

Abstract:
Course management systems (CMSs) enable institutions to engage users efficiently, increase enrollment without major facilities investments, and serve geographically dispersed student markets on an ongoing basis. The full benefits of technology cannot be realized if faculty do not adopt the new technology and use it to achieve their instructional design objectives. From a faculty perspective, pedagogical usability of the software is an important factor affecting technology adoption and effective implementation. Pedagogical usability is measured using Chickering and Gamson’s seven principles of good educational practice. In a distance learning context, this paper provides an initial exploratory study of how faculty perceptions of CMS software characteristics like content re-configurability, interaction re-configurability, and modularity design help faculty implement good pedagogical principles. Additionally, a model is presented that links CMS software design characteristics like content re-configurability, interaction re-configurability, and modularity design with the pedagogical usability assessments of faculty. This model is tested using a sample of 56 faculty members using WebCT at a mid-western university.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this longitudinal study is to examine the determinants of carbon management strategy (CMS) adoption among Australia’s top 200 listed firms. Design/methodology/approach – A legitimacy theory framework is adopted to investigate whether any significant relationship exists between a firm’s decision to adopt CMS and internal organisational factors, such as the presence of an environmental management system (EMS), as well as corporate governance factors like having an environmental committee, board size and board independence. Content analysis of Carbon Disclosure Project data and other publicly available information sourced from firm websites, annual reports and stand-alone sustainability reports is conducted, covering the period from 2008 to 2012. Findings – Logistic regression analyses confirm that firms adopting CMS are more likely to have an EMS, an environmental committee, larger board size and greater board independence. The study also finds significant association between CMS adoption, firm size, leverage and environmental sensitivity of the firm’s industry. Originality/value – The study shows that internal organisational factors and corporate governance attributes play a vital role in maintaining organisational legitimacy through CMS adoption. The findings of this study should be of interest to report providers (i.e. reporting firms), report users (such as investors and consumers) and policymakers.

Abstract:
Web-based applications are being increasingly used to share data and remote access. These applications form an integral part of the financial, education, and government sectors in most countries. The most important issue in web-based applications is maintaining basic principles of security: integrity, confidentiality and availability. Many web vulnerabilities have been identified and should be always considered by web-based applications developers and security professionals. Lack of vigilance in attending to these vulnerabilities may result in the software system being attacked by hackers and the most important asset of an organization, i.e., protected data, being compromised. This paper identifies a new type of web susceptibility termed remote installation vulnerability (RIV) which renders content management systems (CMS) and websites exploitable to cyber-attacks. A simple strategy is recommended to address this vulnerability.
